We had many questions during this uncertain time and he always spent the extra minutes either on the phone or in the office to consult our every need and question...he knows how to communicate very clearly and concisely to ensure that you have everything you need from an educational standpoint

Dr. Murrain not only delivered us our incredible girl, but he also made the experience an incredible one. Infertility is such a sensitive and scary thing, but he is incredible at putting your mind at ease and being sensitive to the wide range of emotions that someone may feel. His knowledge is second to none and he knows how to communicate very clearly and concisely to ensure that you have everything you need from an educational standpoint. I highly recommend him and thanks so much to him and his staff for our incredible treatment.

Dr. Murrain should be one of your top considerations. He will be there for your every want and need and he provides a wealth of knowledge and expertise.

Dr. Murrain was able to diagnose our issues and plan of action after our initial treatment and consultation. The IVF recommendation was spot on and resulted in a pregnancy on the first try. He consulted with us on all of the different variables and options and made us feel comfortable in all of our decisions.

Dr Murrain at Fresno fertility only really read off reports and statistics and seemed less interested in our health history or us... He didn’t have typical preliminary blood work done either and missed a lot of things needed... We only had consultations there but he very much pushed IVF and mini IVF and seemed less interested in our wishes to do less invasive first. He did order the HsG and blood work.
We went to Fresno fertility and it felt like walking to a warehouse. No one greeted us. The drs office was huge but bare with a tiny desk and he only cited statistics and facts to us and asked all the same questions in my paperwork i already answered... I only had consultation but the prices seemed average. The lady in billing was the only one helpful in billing a specific way to get first appt somewhat covered

the dr ordered bloodwork but missed ordering specific fertility related things like FSH levels that other drs want. They were not good at communicating the orders to the clinic for my HsG and i got charged bc it wasn’t pre approved by my dr

Dr Murrain is a very nice man, but as an GYN instead of an RE is not as skilled or up to date in the reproductive field. I feel that he follows a set plan but does not really understand or attempt to understand the treatment regimens he prescribes. He has a standard protocol and if you vary from it he doesn't know what to expect. He prescribed me such a high dose of drugs that a second opinion doctor was very shocked...
The biggest weakness [at GYFT Clinic - Tacoma] seems to be a lack of knowledge about new technologies or protocols outside of the ones already existing...The nurses are kind and compassionate, they oversee every step of your treatment. They even provided me with a cell number for after hours questions since the clinic doesn't have an after hours line...

Don't go, find a Reproductive Endocrinologist.

At the GYFT clinic I rarely saw the doctor, instead I was treated by the nurses most often. I loved the nurses and stayed at the clinic much longer than I should have because I thought they treatment would be the same everywhere. I only saw the doctor on retrieval day and if I requested a follow up appointment after a failed cycle. I was disappointed the doctor was not more involved.

While attempting to get my ovaries to respond (I have insufficient reserve), he has me on doses that are not recommended for use. I was taking 400IU Menopur and 400IU Follistim in one cycle, he always used Ganirelix to prevent ovulation (antagonist cycle). He does not put a patient completely under to retrieve eggs instead he uses waking sedation, as a result during my retrieval the left side was unable to be retrieved, leaving behind an additional 4 eggs.

Many of my costs were billed to insurance, but the cost of a IVF cycle was approximately $5500 when I was there (excluding meds) and $1200 for an IUI (excluding meds).

My first IVF cycle was interrupted halfway due to finding out too late about a polyp that needed removal. We were forced to re-purchase the medications.... Dr. Murrain and his staff were engaged and sympathetic of us.
The nursing staff [GYFT Clinic] was very organized and professional. They followed up with us daily....This clinic is very small and its facility is outdated. At times, it got busy for the infrastructure. The laboratory and the lab staff seemed their major weakness. However, they always tried their best to work around our busy professional schedule.... Dr. Murrain and his staff were engaged and sympathetic of us.... $7000 + anesthesia+ medications
