He [Dr. Manuel Doblado] was down to earth, and wanted to get to know me and my husband and our story. He explained everything in lamens terms so that my husband with no experience with medical jargon could understand...I have only seen him a handful of times, but compared to my previous doctor he has taken the time to explain everything and do all the necessary tests to ensure that everything is in working order before we jump into fertility treatments.

Treatment strategies included doing all the blood tests to ensure that all my levels were good, preformed HSG to make sure my tubes were not blocked, and performing surgery to remove polyp on my uterus

Dr.D was great from the start. In our consultation he reviewed all tests with us and went over all the numbers explaining what they all meant and how they would affect the process going forward. He is very personable and understanding. He makes sure he understands your needs and creates realistic expectations. He does not make false claims to get your hopes up. He carries himself as a professional and is willing to answer any questions we have.

Multiple nurses were pulled into my process, and not all of the coordinators were aware of my treatment stages. On a personal note, their accessibility is not friendly due to some communication barrier. However, this clinic was accurate on the timeline, and had a great follow up during our timeline. Best advice for any perspective patient is to provide as much information as possible so he can properly evaluate your situation and determine the best course of action for your needs. He is good at giving you alternative paths to reach your goals.

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Manuel Doblado at Northern California Fertility Medical Center?

We felt great in conversation with Dr. D. He was very understanding of our concerns and listened well. He also addressed our issues and problems along the way assuring any issues we had would be addressed. His support staff was not as warm and helpful when dealing with the process.

Describe the protocols Manuel Doblado used in your cycles at Northern California Fertility Medical Center and their degree of success.

My treatment came with 50 mg of Clomid, Ovidrel trigger shot and IUI procedures for two rounds, and then repeat for round 3 including Progesterone Vaginal Suppository (PVS). During my first round of Clomid overproduced, Dr. D adjusted accordingly to 25mg to counter the over production of follicles. All three rounds of IUI were unsuccessful.

Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Northern California Fertility Medical Center.

The nursing staff was poorly organized and not very informative. No information was provided in next steps process unless us as patients pushed with asking questions. Multiple nurses involved in communication made messages and information provided varied depending on who you spoke with, there was no one clear voice of instruction. The one bright spot was Clara, she took control of our case and was exactly what we needed. She had great follow up, clear direction, and answered any and all questions and concerns we had.

There were three specific things we did not receive clear instructions on what to do during treatment. 1) We were not aware that we were responsibility to order the trigger shot through a third party pharmacy and pay them directly. 2) The general process of IUI did not provide a full information about each step prior to starting treatment. 3) We paid our fees in full, until at later times, we have received a couple of refunds without our knowledge.

Describe the protocols Manuel Doblado used in your cycles at Northern California Fertility Medical Center and their degree of success.

The 1st three cycles we did letrozole increasing the dose from 5mg to 7.5mg and remaining at 7.5 each additional cycle. Every cycle we did a trigger shot. We tried estrace because I my lining wasn’t thick enough one or 2 cycles but doblado wasn’t happy with it for me. My 4th cycle we tried Letrozole pulse Gonal -F because i did not ovulate the month before on just Letrozole (and because I basically begged to do more) I took a break for a few months after that round, because we needed to save up more money. When I came back we tried Letrozole with a trigger again for 2 cycles the. 2nd cycle we added IUI for the 1st time. All of the cycles to this point ended in negative pregnancy tests. The next cycle we did Letrozole, gonal-f, 2 IUIs and a trigger shot. I had a chemical pregnancy that cycle. I needed to take time off to heal and grieve and save more money. We took the 1st quarter of 2020 off and we were planning on going in again in April but then, Covid-19 happened and our clinic suspended treatments.

They were always pleasant and took great care of me. Very compassionate. You won’t see your doctor at every visit or even sometimes at any visit during a cycle, but the majority of the doctors there are great. There was one that wasn’t for me, but I’m sure some people really like his demeanor. Outside of Dr. Doblado, Dr. Lovely was my favorite. So kind, caring and gentle. She even let my husband inject the IUI once she had everything set up. It just so happens that’s the one time I got a positive pregnancy test! The staff are all really great and understanding. Very thorough as well.

I paid $225 for my 1st appt, $340/ultrasound appt (max 2 per cycle the rest were zero charge), $90 for labs, the cycles with injectables and IUI I paid $1900 up front which covered everything except meds and blood tests.

He’s very friendly and informative. He explains information in a way that is easy to understand and he answers questions honestly. He really takes the time to meet with you and make sure you’re given all the information needed to make your choices regarding your journey.

Friendly, compassionate and encouraging. Quick response times! If they didn’t have the answer to a question, they’d find out and return my call. In office they’re always encouraging and wishing us luck! Very happy with my care team!!

Quick call backs, very informative staff and friendly faces. Everyone is helpful and happy to be there. The only thing I’m not 100% happy with is how long billing can take. It seems billing can take up to a month to process and post. They did update their system and can now print receipts on letterhead which is great! You can request payment information upfront for your cycle so you know what they’ll be charging so it isn’t a surprise when you get there.

We faced a set back on our fertility plan due to me needing surgery for one of my diagnoses, which we knew was going to be needed at some point, but due to pain it came sooner than we hoped. I felt I may have had some healing complications and he even came in on Easter to make sure I was okay. After our failed FET, he was sympathetic and concerned not only with my physical health but my emotional state...We started with a combination of fertility medication and IUI. Overall, I like my experience with Dr. Doblado. I trust his treatment plan. He is straightforward yet still sypathetic to our struggles. He has always made himself available for consultations and to answer any questions we have had.

Ask questions. The more information you have, the more comfortable with treatment you will be.

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Manuel Doblado at Northern California Fertility Medical Center?

Describe the protocols Manuel Doblado used in your cycles at Northern California Fertility Medical Center and their degree of success.

We started with a combination of fertility medication and IUI. We did 6 unsuccessful cycles of IUI. Dr. Doblado then recommended we swith to IVF. we did 1 egg retrieval using medication and injections. 12 eggs were received, 8 embryos were created using ICSI. By day 5, all but 2 embryos had stopped growing. We sent the two embryos to be genetically tested. Both embryos cleared genetic testing. We transfered 1 unsuccessfully and our last embryo is currently frozen. We are waiting to transfer until after Covid 19 restrictions have been lifted.

Every nurse we have interacted with has been amazing. Our primary nurse coordinator was organized and empathetic. She helped prepare us for the medication and injection schedule, frequently checked in with us and helped with medications and scheduling.

Staff is the biggest strength. Every doctor and nurse has been wonderful and created the best experience possible. The clinic is smaller and can be hard to book appointments on short notice. However, they recently moved to a larger facility.

Our insurance covers some procedures but most has been out of pocket. Each round of IUI cost about $350 and IVF was roughly $22,000, which we financed mostly.

Dr. Doblado, understood my concerns about wanting to protect the integrity of conception I was looking for. I did not want to know genders or test for it. While in retrospect I was a little more naive than I thought he still allowed me to make the decisions and supported me...For my transfer I was prescribed Zithromax 250mg, Letrozole 2.5mg, and Ovidrel 250mg/0.5 ml. I ovulated on my own each month so Dr. Doblado wanted to keep my protocol what he called natural

There is always a lot of traffic in office. Patients coming and going. The [Northern California Fertility Medical Center] staff is wonderful, very friendly, very clean and organized. My favorite experience was my egg retrieval the doctors were funny and upbeat. My least favorite experience was after our failed transfer we came in for a consultation to take about what possibly went wrong and the nurse that drew my blood greeted me with a very loud "I'm so sorry"

Dr.Doblado, was wonderful as far as communicating what he felt was the best treatment for my husband and I. I wish I had spent more time working directly with him to help understand more clearly what to expect throughout the entire process. While Dr.Doblado did not preform my transfer or egg retrieval one of the other clinic doctors did he was my treating provider and did preform my saline sonogram and another procedure to look for inner uterine fibroids. Dr.Doblado has remained encouraging even though we did not get a positive test from our transferred 6AA embryo.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Manuel Doblado at Northern California Fertility Medical Center?

I would encourage new patients to really ask the necessary questions about fertility treatments going into the process. I think there was some assumption that we had dome some research about the process of IVF during our consultation. We had not, so post our first and as of right now only cycle we were left feeling like we did everything but we did not get pregnant. Dr. Doblado is very open, candid, and patient, but the process is worth more time spent going over questions and answers.

While I am nut sure about the exact protocol I was on, but I know that I was prescribed for my retrieval estradiol 0.15-0.03mg tablet, Menopur 75 units injectable, and Gonal-ref Pen 450 units. once the retrieval was completed I rested off medications a cycle to prepare for transfer. For my transfer I was prescribed Zithromax 250mg, Letrozole 2.5mg, and Ovidrel 250mg/0.5 ml. I ovulated on my own each month so Dr. Doblado wanted to keep my protocol what he called natural. I had no side effects to any of the medications.

Jamie, was awesome. She always made me feel comfortable and was realistic with me about the odds of conceptions when I was panic throughout the process. I would have loved a follow-up call after we were told the transfer was unsuccessful but that may be part of the healing process to allow the patient to reach out when ready. It has been a year and I have not heard anything.

There is always a lot of traffic in office. Patients coming and going. The staff is wonderful, very friendly, very clean and organized. My favorite experience was my egg retrieval the doctors were funny and upbeat. My least favorite experience was after our failed transfer we came in for a consultation to take about what possibly went wrong and the nurse that drew my blood greeted me with a very loud "I'm so sorry". I know her heart was in the right place it was just uncomfortable because everyone then turned and looked at me.

I had partial insurance cost for some of my treatment up to $6,000 life time max which we exhausted. We paid out of pocket about $8,500 in addition on treatments and medications for everything from retrieval to transfer. When we transfer again we will be looking at another $5,000 out of pocket.

Dr, Doblado and I differed on our opinion of the embryo transfer. I have fibroids on the outside of my uterus but none on the inside. I have had a prior myomectomy to remove some so Dr. Doblado had concerns of the weight of two babies on my uterus if both embryo implanted. I wanted to give myself better odds by implanting two. We only implanted one embryo because it was so highly graded , but I still wish we had implanted two.

So the withholding of information irritated me the most.

I have had 4 IUI’s to date. I have a possible blocked right Fallopian tube. My husband has been tested and he is perfect. I have an 18 year old from a prior relationship. My first couple months we tried oral medications, Clomid and Letrozole. When we did IUI it was oral Letrozole with Gonal F and Ovidril. On CD 1 I had to have an ultrasound to check my uterine lining. Then start oral meds. Sub Q injections and cd 14 another ultrasound to check my uterine lining and egg count. Once my egg was >18, we did the trigger shot. IUI was scheduled for the following 2 days. I’ve gotten pregnant with 3 IUI’s, 1 miscarriage and 2 chemicals.

A lot of the time Dr. Doblado helped me with my need of accommodation. My husband and i both Work a lot and coming in at the drop of a hat was hard. If i were a new patient [at N CA Fertility Med Ctr-Roseville] i would want to be aware that the providers are on cycles throughout the month. Seeing one provider may not mean you will have a procedure again with them. They rotate to allow coverage of weekends and holidays. Dr doblado only preformed one of the IUI’s and others filled in for him when needed... I first started with 50mg of Clomid and trigger shots called Lupron. I first started with 50mg of Clomid and trigger shots called Lupron. We did this for 2 months and unfortunately i only grew 1 follicle each time. So after the trigger injection we would proceed with the IUI and then wait two weeks. Unfortunately that didn’t result in pregnancy so we increased the Clomid to 100 and still 1 follicle and no Pregnancy. Today we are in the process of IVF And i have just started birth control and will start injections in 3 weeks.

The medical assistants are a little rough and not very compassionate. I don’t think they understand that we are women on hormones and failed pregnancies and attempts are devastating. We are on an antagonist protocol-75 iu of Menopur, 200 iu of Gonal F and then cetrotide will be added along with a lupron/hcg trigger. I have my first scan tomorrow and am hoping for beautiful results! He said that I am young with good eggs so they don't want to risk overstimulating me and having me end up with OHSS.

I cannot describe how amazing Alyssa is. She is on top of everything at all times! She always calls back the same day and if she isn't there I get a call back from her colleague because she checks voicemails from home! She has worked with me on donated meds and with the pharmacies to find the cheapest options possible and was so thorough explaining injections. When I was worried about my low baseline AFC she immediately told me that it was a great number and not to panic before I could even say anything! She can read how I'm feeling and she makes sure my husband and I fully understand what is going on during the process. Seriously she is an actual angel!

We had a very standard egg retrieval with follistim, Menopur, Ganirelix, leuprolide and Novarel. The first and second FET consisted of follistim, letrozole, estrogen, progesterone and HCG. After a positive receptivia we treated with the highest dose of Orilissa for 2 months and then the same FET protocol but added in a steroid pre transfer.

[Dr. Manuel Doblado] He was welcoming to my husband and I. We discussed our options, he was honest with his recommendations, and we felt as if he truly cared. We also appreciated his knowledge... recommended IVF for my husband and I due to the blockage in my fallopian tubes. After lab work my vitamin D was a bit low, so it was recommended that I take 5000 IU of vitamin D.

I have struggled with infertility for three years. At the one year mark of infertility I saw my gynecologist and was not given much help or options for next steps. At the time I was 26 years old and was told "you are young, and have nothing to worry about." After another year my gynecologist suggested I do a procedure to test my opening of my fallopian tubes. It turns out I have a blockage. My gynecologist highly recommended that I have a laproscopic surgery to unblock the blockage, which at the time I was eager to do, because honestly, I would do anything to have the opportunity to have children. After three years of struggling with infertility I made an apportionment at NCFMC was had a consult with Dr. Doblado. He was welcoming to my husband and I. We discussed our options, he was honest with his recommendations, and we felt as if he truly cared. We also appreciated his knowledge. We hope to vary soon be able to continue with our infertility treatment with Dr. Doblado.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Manuel Doblado at Northern California Fertility Medical Center?

Be prepared with a list of questions, but most importantly have an open heart to listen as Dr. Doblado is extremely knowledgable.

Describe the protocols Manuel Doblado used in your cycles at Northern California Fertility Medical Center and their degree of success.

Dr. Doblado recommended IVF for my husband and I due to the blockage in my fallopian tubes. After lab work my vitamin D was a bit low, so it was recommended that I take 5000 IU of vitamin D. In addition, lab work shoes my TSH was a 3.08, so I was prescribed 25mcg. of levothyroxine. After six month my levels are down to 2.65. We are hoping to get my level under a 2.5 with a healthy diet and levothyroxine. All other lab work came back great along with my husbands semen analysis. I was also tested for any chromosomal in-normalities that I could possibly past down to any future children and all my results came back negative.

Dr. Doblado always answered our questions thoroughly and in a way that was easy to understand. After having a few miscarriages, my anxiety around pregnancy is high and he never made me feel bad for having so many questions or for being worried....While you will be assigned a primary doctor, you will also be seen by other providers. Don't be afraid to ask them questions, too, and if they don't offer you a complete answer, ask Dr. Doblado because he will!

Most of the nurses are very kind and thorough. I can only think of one time when I called with a question and felt kind of blown off. Otherwise, the rest of my experience with them [No Cal Fert Med Ctr] was positive!...The wait time is short, everyone is friendly, they explain the cost thoroughly and clearly and they get you in for appointments as soon as you need one. They are open on the weekends, which I guess that have to be since a cycle is unpredictable!

I have and would recommend Dr. Doblado to anyone seeking fertility treatment. At first we were assigned to our case load because his availability for our second consultation was convenient. In the end, it turned out to be the best thing because he's been my favorite doctor to work with. He is kind, honest, explains everything clearly and really takes the time to answer my questions. I like the other doctors too, but sometimes felt rushed with them.

I took clomid 50mg for the first cycle and clomid 150mg for the other 3 cycles. Since I have endometriosis the clomid cycles were very hard for me.

Advocate for yourself if you feel you need the clinic to understand where you're coming from and if you don't fully understand a treatment, please ask questions so that you can get a bigger understanding. You want to make sure the treatment plan is right for you. The clinic is clean and quiet.

We had many failed Clomid cycles with my obgyn so Dr. Doblado started with letrozole, trigger shot, timed intercourse and an estradiol/progesterone supplement for after ovulation due to history of short luteal phase. Luckily we were successful with this treatment and needed nothing more invasive.

My husband and I have both been extremely happy with out experiences with Dr. Doblado. He is smart, asks our input, is considerate, and has been great with communication. One downside is not being able to see Dr. Doblado every appointment. All the doctors in the practice rotate, and although all the doctors communicate well, sometimes we want to be able to immediately discuss information from appointments with Dr Doblado.

The clinic [Northern California Fertility Medical Center] is warm and comfortable. The people working the front desk are always pleasant and helpful. Everything is done in the clinic, so if sedation is needed for a procedure you don’t have to go to another outpatient facility. Just know that since the doctors rotate, you may not always see your primary doctor at every appointment. ...The nursing staff has been great in our experiences so far. After my surgery they called to check on me and we very considerate throughout all my appointments

Dr. Doblado goes out of his way to not only address clinical needs, but to also calm any concerns or anxieties that come up along the way. He is very responsive to emails and any questions we have.

When we started with Dr. Doblado, I was on my third round of 50mg Clomid prescribed by my gynecologist. He suggested a change in course because in his experience if a treatment doesn’t work after the second time, it won’t work unless there is an adjustment in medication etc. The new plan is to start high dose Clomid 150mg with estrogen and IUI. With the high dose I will be coming in for ultrasound monitoring throughout. Before starting the high dose round, I had a hysteroscopy performed and a uterine septum was found. We then scheduled surgical removal of the septum which was done in the clinic. This pushed my high dose Clomid with IUI round back, but will be starting it in about a month. No pregnancies to date.

It was a cluster of a situation. Communication between the embryology lab and our room wasn’t great and we didn’t know it was retained for a few minutes and I just laid there.

There has been some turnover [at NCFMC]. The MA’s for our first round we’re super supportive and great. These last two rounds I felt no bond or closeness with any of them. The front desk girls are nice. Nurses are great. It’s a very busy facility. But they still care. I recommend it ... She [nurse] made this experience for us a good one. Even through all the disappointment and pain and loss, she was really there for us. She is amazing
