Dr Surrey clearly has had success in the field and though somewhat arrogant, he is nice enough...it comes across as though patients are just a number to him. ...asked him how many follicles he saw on my ultrasound he said "as many as you'd expect from someone your age but enough to still make it worth the exercise"
[Southern California Reproductive Center] is a disaster...scheduled me for a virtual appointment...during the virtual appointment the doctor asked me why I scheduled a virtual appointment...he needed to see me in person...took 4 months to be seen in-person for a consult...took months to resolve the double bill with their billing team
How was your experience with Mark Surrey at Southern California Reproductive Center?
Dr Surrey clearly has had success in the field and though somewhat arrogant, he is nice enough. However at this point it comes across as though patients are just a number to him. I don't need a doctor to hold my hand through it, but a doctor that at least cares enough to call with results or let me know my prospects. When I asked him how many follicles he saw on my ultrasound he said "as many as you'd expect from someone your age but enough to still make it worth the exercise" No thank you.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Mark Surrey at Southern California Reproductive Center?
If you don't have the time, don't take on more patients.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Mark Surrey at Southern California Reproductive Center?
I paid $850 for an ultrasound and initial tests and he 1. didn't tell me how many follicles he saw 2. waited well over a week to call me with my blood test results.
Describe the protocols Mark Surrey used in your cycles at Southern California Reproductive Center and their degree of success.
He honestly didn't even have the time to talk about any of that.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Southern California Reproductive Center.
They are so disorganized, it felt like I was always talking to someone different and ultimately miscalculated my schedule.
Describe your experience with Southern California Reproductive Center.
The clinic is a disaster. They scheduled me for a virtual appointment and then during the virtual appointment the doctor asked me why I scheduled a virtual appointment because he needed to see me in person. In all it took 4 months to be seen in-person for a consult and even when the finance coordinator waived the fee for the virtual appointment, it took months to resolve the double bill with their billing team.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Mark Surrey at Southern California Reproductive Center.
I spent $850 for a consult that took 4 months to schedule, an ultrasound with no follicle count and bloodwork that took over a week to get results for.
What specific things went wrong at Southern California Reproductive Center?
  • Lost appointments
  • Failed to call with results
  • Provided conflicting information
  • Failed to convey critical information
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Southern California Reproductive Center.
From Dr Surrey to the nurses to the scheduling and billing departments I was consistently disappointed across the board. It's a lot of money and you can get much better elsewhere.

He [Dr. Mark Surrey] recommended single transfer but was open to discussing this with me. Ultimately we did both single and multiple transfers...treatment was specific to me, not just a one size fits all approach...Anything important was always communicated directly from him, not another member of the team. I really appreciated that. Dr. Surrey has a supportive but not emotional method to his treatment. I felt like we really built a strong doctor patient relationship throughout my time. And when something didn’t go according to plan, he was sensitive to it. He had a very calm and friendly demeanor.
It was always a pleasure to go to the clinic [Southern California Reproductive Center] and see them [staff]. I felt like they really knew me and I developed a wonderful relationship with Laura [nurse] and the whole team...I had the most wonderful Ultrasound Tech, Neha! I had other techs as well who were fantastic, but I saw Neha at 90% of my visits. She was so knowledgeable and kind no matter the circumstance...The costs were in line with what we had experienced elsewhere. However, SCRC provided all costs upfront and at the start of each treatment. There were no hidden costs. It removed anxiety to know there wouldn’t be any unforeseen costs.
How was your experience with Mark Surrey at Southern California Reproductive Center?
From our first meeting with Dr. Surrey, I really like him and his thoughts on what would be good initial treatment steps for us. However, I felt there would be much less hand holding, which worried me. But I quickly realized that while I wouldn’t see Dr. Surrey at each visit (for convenience you often just see the nurse and ultrasound tech for quick check-ins) he would call me every time with my results from that day. Anything important was always communicated directly from him, not another member of the team. I really appreciated that. Dr. Surrey has a supportive but not emotional method to his treatment. I felt like we really built a strong doctor patient relationship throughout my time. And when something didn’t go according to plan, he was sensitive to it. He had a very calm and friendly demeanor.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Mark Surrey at Southern California Reproductive Center?
Ask him questions as they arise, he is very open and easy to talk with.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Mark Surrey at Southern California Reproductive Center?
My care from Dr. Surrey and his team was specific to me. I had my own nurse and often saw the same ultrasound tech. They kept in close contact over email and phone with me. I was always able to reach someone when needed. They knew what was going on in each cycle. I felt like their treatment was specific to me, not just a one size fits all approach.
Describe the protocols Mark Surrey used in your cycles at Southern California Reproductive Center and their degree of success.
We did IVF cycles with him. He utilized injections and oral or vaginal medication for harvesting/retrieval prep and transfer plans. Our first retrieval prep was cancelled prior to the actual retrieval because of the poor egg numbers he saw. This was hard but I was so glad that he made this decision based on my numbers, it felt personalized, rather than just having me move forward with what would have been a poor retrieval. After that he adjusted my medications and got a better response for our next cycle. His transfer plans also felt specific to me, he adjusted as often as he felt necessary to allow for optimal results.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Southern California Reproductive Center. (Assigned nurse: Laura W. )
Laura was my main nurse, but Olivia and other team members helped as needed. They were all so supportive and wonderful! They always knew what was going on with my cycle, ordered the necessary labs, ultrasounds, etc. They were easy to get in touch with and always responded very quickly to emails. They provided ongoing education when needed and up to date calendars that were easy to follow. They reviewed in detail medication administration so I felt well equipped to administer at home. It was always a pleasure to go to the clinic and see them. I felt like they really knew me and I developed a wonderful relationship with Laura and the whole team.
Describe your experience with Southern California Reproductive Center.
The clinic is beautiful and very well run! It’s effective and efficient. Fertility is rough no matter what you have to do and patients are always a bit on edge. I know I was at different stages of my treatment. I think SCRC accounts for this and tries to ease the concerns and fear that goes with the process. They were also the most upfront with fertility costs than any other doctor I had seen before going to SCRC. It was nice to know that no unforeseen costs would be incurred. I knew everything at the start of each treatment. This removed a lot of anxiety.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Southern California Reproductive Center.
I had the most wonderful Ultrasound Tech, Neha! I had other techs as well who were fantastic, but I saw Neha at 90% of my visits. She was so knowledgeable and kind no matter the circumstance. We had good and bad ultrasounds and she was always a strong support. She was incredibly professional but also personal to my care. It meant the world to me.

The costs were in line with what we had experienced elsewhere. However, SCRC provided all costs upfront and at the start of each treatment. There were no hidden costs. It removed anxiety to know there wouldn’t be any unforeseen costs.
Describe Mark Surrey's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Southern California Reproductive Center.
He recommended single transfer but was open to discussing this with me. Ultimately we did both single and multiple transfers. He listened to me and we agreed together that a double embryo transfer was best for my last transfer that resulted in the live birth of our son.

He [Dr. Mark Surrey] always remembered us and our situation. He would always contact us with lab results, new information or just to check in. He was very informative and always presented us with options in moving forward with procedures or testings...We began with an egg retrieval, followed by a FET cycle a couple weeks later. My fiancé experienced hyper stimulation, severe bloating and swelling. Resulting in 2 taps to remove the excess fluids. The hormone injections may have been too strong for her body. We retrieved 33 eggs, made 5 embryos, 2 were mosaic.
The nursing staff [at Southern California Reproductive Center] was awesome, all very sweet, welcoming and polite. My fiancé had a lot of discomfort with the ultrasound probe. Except with one nurse, Sue. Who was extremely gentle and aware of her sensitivity, so we requested her every time and the nurses would coordinate to make it happen...Very nice, clean, plenty of seating, calming environment with lots of natural light. 8am - 10am there is a lot of patients coming and going. The administrative desk can be a little distracted at times. It would sometimes take a few moments to be greeted or acknowledged if they were typing, filing, etc. But overall very nice. The nursing team was awesome, always available, after hours or on the weekends.
How was your experience with Mark Surrey at Southern California Reproductive Center?
Overall, Dr. Surrey was very great and very pleasant. He always remembered us and our situation. He would always contact us with lab results, new information or just to check in. He was very informative and always presented us with options in moving forward with procedures or testings. Financial stresses and work related challenges have been very present throughout our process. This is probably just a personal/emotional experience, but I felt as though Dr. Surrey was not mindful of our financial struggles. I understand he has an accounting department for that, but sometimes it almost seemed like we were encouraged to take the most expensive procedures/actions to move forward. However, if finances were not an issue, I probably would not feel that way.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Mark Surrey at Southern California Reproductive Center?
Educate yourself as much as possible, talk to others who have gone through IVF treatments successfully and unsuccessful. Don't be afraid to ask questions.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Mark Surrey at Southern California Reproductive Center?
Dr. Surrey was always very involved. He would personally check in on my fiancé in addition to his nurses calling us as well. If he solely spoke to my fiancé on the phone, he always volunteered to call me directly and relay the information, or encouraged me to call if we had any questions. We had a couple emergency situations, over a weekend, due to hyper-stimulation and Dr. Surrey, literally left the golf course to come see us at his clinic. He was also very warm and friendly and very familiar with our situation, considering all the other patients he has, it made us feel special.
Describe the protocols Mark Surrey used in your cycles at Southern California Reproductive Center and their degree of success.
We began with an egg retrieval, followed by a FET cycle a couple weeks later. My fiancé experienced hyper stimulation, severe bloating and swelling. Resulting in 2 taps to remove the excess fluids. The hormone injections may have been too strong for her body. We retrieved 33 eggs, made 5 embryos, 2 were mosaic. Of the 3 viable embryos, two were Day 7 and one was Day 5, which we transferred. Unfortunately our transfer was not a successful pregnancy. A couple months later we decided to do another egg retrieval and freeze. This time Dr. Surrey lowered the hormonal dosage, which prevented hyper stimulation happening again. This time we got 20 eggs and just froze them due to finances at this time.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Southern California Reproductive Center. (Assigned nurse: Paulina)
Paulina was great. Very responsive and thorough with information. The nursing staff was awesome, all very sweet, welcoming and polite. My fiancé had a lot of discomfort with the ultrasound probe. Except with one nurse, Sue. Who was extremely gentle and aware of her sensitivity, so we requested her every time and the nurses would coordinate to make it happen. Olivia was also very helpful, she was aware of our finances and helped in obtaining coupons for medications. Desta was also amazing. He was the phlebotomist that my fiancé always requested as well. She does not like needles, bruises extremely easy and has delicate arms, so his care was highly appreciated!

Describe Mark Surrey's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Southern California Reproductive Center.
Dr. Surrey was very neutral and didn't really encourage one way or the other. He educated us on the tradeoffs.

Dr. Surrey only spent 10 minutes with us before being whisked away - and that was the end of our $200 initial consultation. He talked to me like he couldn’t wait to get out of the room, was dismissive, rude and was clearly trying to check my appt off his list before moving on to something else...We sat down in his office and he never acknowledged my husband...He was cold, couldn’t have seemed less interested in us and it was almost as if we were bothering him and he thought we were stupid.
The interactions I had with the [Southern California Reproductive Center] front desk staff were all extremely professional, kind & compassionate. It is also clear that they value privacy of their patients. How was your experience with Mark Surrey at Southern California Reproductive Center?
We filled out SO much paperwork ahead of time, had our medical records sent from our previous fertility clinic (including details on 3 IUI cycles), and were very prepared with questions. We sat down in his office and he never acknowledged my husband. The first thing he asked me was “how’s your health?” & told him that I’m doing well - that my very minor autoimmune issues have been in remission for a few years & I’ve really been putting my health first. Then he asked “what happened in August 2021” and I told him I had an early loss/chemical pregnancy. He said “yeah I’m gonna need to see your rheumatology records” to which I shared that I had all my bloodwork from the past 4 years with me. He dismissed me and said he didn’t want to see them and that he would need to get them from the doctor himself. I then told him I had recently found out I was pregnant (didn’t cancel the appt because I wanted to cover all my bases) and all he said was “yeah well the likelihood of another loss is pretty good so I’m gonna need your records.” After that (only 10 minutes), the nurse mentioned he needed to go, so he told us that we could decide if we wanted to stay with our old doctor or start seeing him and get back to his front desk people. And that was it. He was cold, couldn’t have seemed less interested in us and it was almost as if we were bothering him and he thought we were stupid.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Mark Surrey at Southern California Reproductive Center?
I would tell them to consider elsewhere. The clinic staff was lovely but interacting with him put a damper on the entire clinic.

The woman who was in the room with us (and stayed for a few minutes after Dr. Surrey left) was very kind. She gave us options about next steps and took time to listen but we were just so interested in getting out of there that we didn’t want to interact that much.

We only saw him for a consultation. Which was $200 and we only saw him for 10 minutes. We aren’t sure if this is standard or not but for comparison our other doctor spent over an hour with us for our first consultation

How was your experience with Mark Surrey at Southern California Reproductive Center?
Great credentials, knowledgeable but terrible bedside manner. We only saw him for our initial consult and a few procedures I needed before starting retrieval process. The day of my HCG call I did not receive a call, I took a home pregnancy test and saw it was faint positive so I figured it was a chemical pregnancy. I had to call multiple times to get through to after hours nurse and once she got ahold of the doctor I did get a call until later that evening with confirmation it was a chemical pregnancy. No apology as to why they missed calling me sooner, very blunt and matter of fact. No follow up, too busy with multiple clinics, felt like a number rather than an individual

For retrieval I used follistim and gonal with ovidrel trigger. It was over 2 years ago I don’t remember the exact protocol but ~15 eggs were retrieved with 7 making it to day 5 and 5 coming back normal after testing. For my first transfer cycle I did fully medicated which resulted in chemical pregnancy

Dr. Surrey seemed to treat us like a number overall as he didn't seem overly interested in carefully addressing the issues that came up, including "very poor egg quality". He just wanted to keep trying the same protocol repeatedly despite poor embryo results... I am not sure if this is a lack of knowledge of other methods, trying to keep patients coming back, or disinterest...He often repeats himself while speaking as if he isn't really thinking about what he is saying. he calls to give you news on his car phone, you can hear him driving and often you cannot hear what he is saying because of this. Including when he gives you bad news. His bedside manner is fine but he does not communicate things in a manner that you have time to process and then ask questions.
I had two surgeries [at SCRC] to remove scar tissue in my uterus that they were unsure as to why was there, other than inflammation. Once before FET and once after my miscarriage. When asking about a third round of IVF we were told that the same protocol would be used again...The nursing staff, front desk staff and imaging staff were all wonderful. The nursing staff always were able to answer all the questions that we inevitably had after our brief talks with Dr Surrey. They were fast, very communicative, organized, professional, friendly, and easily the best part of the experience with this office.

Including when he gives you bad news. His bedside manner is fine but he does not communicate things in a manner that you have time to process and then ask questions. His staff make up for this failure. He has also gotten short with me when asking questions about why treatment was going poorly and why we weren't changing the approach. He seems set to keep trying the same protocol despite poor results. I am not sure if this is a lack of knowledge of other methods, trying to keep patients coming back, or disinterest.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Mark Surrey at Southern California Reproductive Center?
Do your research on your treatment as you go so that you can be firm in asking for the treatment that you think will be the most helpful.

Dr. Surrey seemed to treat us like a number overall as he didn't seem overly interested in carefully addressing the issues that came up, including "very poor egg quality". Describe the protocols Mark Surrey used in your cycles at Southern California Reproductive Center and their degree of success.
I did two rounds of IVF, both with standard amounts of the stims meds. Round 1 barely managed to get 6 day embryo and a 7 day embryo. I was told this was due to poor egg quality. The next round no changes were made to protocol. No embryos resulted. I got 29 eggs the first time and 32 the second. I was told that getting more eggs was better and that it would not make them poorer quality, despite current research possibly suggesting otherwise. After the first round we did a frozen transfer, became pregnant, then found it to be a blighted ovum and miscarried. The embryos were both genetically normal and they were unsure what caused the issue. I had two surgeries to remove scar tissue in my uterus that they were unsure as to why was there, other than inflammation. Once before FET and once after my miscarriage. When asking about a third round of IVF we were told that the same protocol would be used again.

Organized, professional, very communicative and friendly. They always do their best to get you quickly seen, never make you feel bad for having questions and are just generally very helpful. They are very busy but I feel this is to be expected. Honestly our only issue was with our Dr. not wanting to change our protocols to possibly address our specific needs.

He [Dr. Mark Surrey] followed up with me in a timely manner about our test results, next steps, and about what to expect from the treatment. He carries himself in an approachable way, so you are comfortable asking question and having him elaborate on any part of your treatment...Because of my age (40) and the amount of time we’ve been trying to conceive for, we were recommended IVF treatment...He presented as very capable at his job, and wished me well in the process. He was courteous and professional. He asked questions to get to know more about me.
Madelynn [nurse at SCRC] was very warm and helpful in describing the total process we would go through, what our next steps would be, and what to expect financially, emotionally and physically. She has been absolutely wonderful to work with...The team is very good at following up quickly on paperwork and testing results. They have been very helpful and kind, and act professionally. He [Dr. Surrey] read through our history with IVF prior to our consultation therefore all questions were made to clarify versus tell our whole story all over again. He spent >2 hours with us running tests needed to evaluate (way more than any other doctor we had been with). He did a great job at explaining everything without sugar coating it. ... We are still in the early stages, but I feel he has gathered more information on me than any other clinic/doctor
The clinic [So Cal Reproductive Center] itself is very busy - we had to wait 1 hour after our schedule time due to a surgery going overtime. Advice to people attending the clinic, prepare to be there longer than expected - set aside plenty of time for if the appt is pushed back and if it runs over. ... Following our consultation, the nursing staff never had to go back and forth to ask Dr. Surrey what was needed - it was as if they already new (good communication)

I felt as though the doctor [Dr. Mark Surrey] could have been more sensitive to setbacks when the first attempt at retrieval actually failed. My doctor that recommended him actually has a very sensitive demeanor so I was expecting more...He knows what he’s doing but isn’t very sensitive...I was a traumatic experience because the first cycle didn’t even work at all to make it to retrieval. I ended up with enough eventually but it was much more time consuming and costly than expected.
I felt as though the doctor and the [Southern California Reproductive Center] clinic as a whole could have been more sensitive to what the patient is actually going through. The reception isn’t the kindest and it is sometimes difficult to get someone on the phone with an issue...The nurses were decent it was more reception that had less compassion. The nurses were more sensitive and helpful. However it is sometimes difficult to get them on the phone.

This clinic is pretty expensive probably partly due to being located in beverly hills. I did not receive any assistance on the first cycle. The second cycle I received some assistance with medication as well as with the third. Other than that it was completely out of pocket.

I felt that Dr Surrey was very knowledgeable with what my condition was. He let us know the options we had and also made us feel that if we had any questions or hesitations that we could always call and ask him....I was on birth control at the beginning to regulate my period after I was taking my stimulation’s and that was determined by the ultrasounds and what my levels where at the time which was follistum and menopur. Before my retrieval I was given antibiotics to help with any bacteria infections.
The clinic [SCRC] was great easy to find in Santa Barbara it was clean and the staff was awesome. The front desk always called to confirm appointments and they were on it with all the information. They were also great with emails sometimes it was hard to get down to the clinic so if we were able to do it over email or fax they always made it work for us.... The staff was awesome always made me feel very comfortable and they always made me feel important which is a great feeling when you feel so many emotions.

Dr Surrey talked to me like I was stupid, he barely acknowledged my feelings or emotions about test results or diagnosis and didn’t even ask about how I wanted to approach my treatment plan. Cold bedside manner and very impersonal. ... I had a horrible experience with him. Not only did he misdiagnose me but he didn’t do the necessary blood work needed to prove my diagnosis was correct. Because of this misdiagnosis I spent months convinced I had PCOS when I actually didn’t.
They [Southern California Reproductive Center] made me feel like a number and made me feel broken. ... When I switched doctors they failed to send my paperwork over in a timely manner which resulted in my new doctor having to run all the tests over again. ... Everyone [nurses] acted like I was inconveniencing them when I asked questions or tried to be proactive about my treatment. ... I’m still receiving bills from them which only adds insult to injury.

Trying to get Dr Surrey to talk to us was difficult, he spoke down to us and tried to push us into treatments without testing if they were necessary...surgery experience was bad... had supposedly discovered this during my surgery months earlier and never told us...be extremely firm and still expect him not to listen.
[At Southern California Reproductive Center] Pam at the front desk was kind and helpful, as was Colleen in ultrasound. The surgical clinic they work with is terrible, and they rush you in and out...did not appreciate the clinic changing it’s protocol for Covid every time, even when I would call ahead to check, so that my husband could never come in with me.
How was your experience with Mark Surrey at Southern California Reproductive Center?
In my consultation Dr Surrey told me they would test both me and my husband. My husband was never allowed in, even though we did everything they told us to do for him to be allowed in (Covid vaccine, negative test, etc.), and Dr Surrey mocked me when I asked to call my husband so he could join the discussions, and then rushed on with the information before I had a chance to call him, so I felt isolated. I had my first ultrasound and they immediately scheduled a laparoscopy to check for/remove endometriosis. The surgery experience was bad. Afterword Dr Surrey had me on birth control pills and Lupron Depot, which I have since discovered most Drs won’t prescribe for anything but cancer because of its negative side effects, and it made me very ill. He gave me the impression that we would run some more tests, but they were going to help me try to conceive naturally, then just before Christmas he told me they were ready to begin the process for IVF whenever I was. We had not discussed that as a necessary treatment. I made him wait until my husband was available to join the conversation, which frustrated Dr Surrey. On the phone he told us that my entire pelvic floor, including my fallopian tubes, do not work at all, so I could and would never get pregnant naturally. They had supposedly discovered this during my surgery months earlier and never told us. We asked if they had performed an HSG, or if they would, because how else could they know my fallopian tubes don’t work. He said they don’t perform HSGs, but if we were going to be stubborn about it they would perform another laparoscopy to go in and explore my tubes, but I was worried about the unnecessary scar tissue and other risks. We also asked when they were going to test my husband, and he informed us that they don’t do that kind of testing, even though he had previously told me he would test my husband. It was at this point my husband and I felt very uncomfortable with Dr Surrey’s care and stopped seeing him. We got a copy of the surgical report from the laparoscopy in September and he wrote in there that my fallopian tubes and pelvic floor appeared normal. I got pregnant the first time we tried after getting off the meds he had me on. We sadly miscarried, but it was due to a chromosomal issue and nothing to do with my body. I’ve since had an HSG performed, and there is nothing wrong with my fallopian tubes, they are perfectly normal.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Mark Surrey at Southern California Reproductive Center?
Find a different Dr, or be extremely firm and still expect him not to listen.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Mark Surrey at Southern California Reproductive Center?
Trying to get Dr Surrey to talk to us was difficult, he spoke down to us and tried to push us into treatments without testing if they were necessary
Describe your experience with Southern California Reproductive Center.
Pam at the front desk was kind and helpful, as was Colleen in ultrasound. The surgical clinic they work with is terrible, and they rush you in and out. I was still waking up when they told me to get myself dressed and brought me out to my husband who was waiting outside. I threw up several times. They didn’t provide any instruction to take a bowel loosener before surgery and I ended up extremely impacted.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Mark Surrey at Southern California Reproductive Center.
The costs were minimal, but they continuously “forgot” to bill my insurance and sent every bill to me. They also continuously would insist that my insurance wouldn’t cover certain things, like the surgery, lupron depot injections, etc, and would tell me I had to pay them. I thankfully checked with my insurance each time and jumped through a bunch of hoops to get the bills sent to them to pay.
What specific things went wrong at Southern California Reproductive Center?
  • Failed to inform you of changes in protocol
  • Provided conflicting information
  • Failed to convey critical information
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Southern California Reproductive Center.
Most issues were with Dr Surrey himself providing conflicting information regarding my treatments. I did not appreciate the clinic changing it’s protocol for Covid every time, even when I would call ahead to check, so that my husband could never come in with me.

[Dr. Mark Surrey] called me personally for every step. Good news, bad new and the hard news. He saw me almost every appointment in my first round...believes in genetic testing so that you can pick the best possible embryos...He is very compassionate and doesn’t treat you like just a number...I won’t stop IVF treatments until he tells me “that’s it”
The strengths [of Southern California Reproductive Center] are the technology they have. The Embryoscope, the genetic testing. The experienced doctors. They are a bit pricey but then again they are the best. They have offices everywhere which is nice and convenient. I enjoyed going to the Beverly Hills office though as it felt like home...[the nursing staff] responded always within the same day!

Dr. Surrey did a focused consultation and explored every possibility of why we were not getting pregnant before starting an egg transfer...did the procedure that cleaned out this blockage. And then healed prior to starting the cycle where we implanted...one of the kindest and most patient medical professionals
SCRC feels like a very busy place...very high volume facility and it can feel crowded...incredibly on their game. We never waited too long. Labs were a breeze...parking is too expensive so park in the free lot around the corner...Olivia and her staff always valued our time. They were efficient like no other staff we had ever seen

Dr Surrey is a very intelligent doctor. He knows this field very well. I am very satisfied with the the type of work he has done on me so far. [He] is very caring and listens to patients concerns...Due to low egg count he upped my meds in order to have the result we need to get a good amount of eggs
Right now the weakness [at SCRC] is answering phones and trying to get a hold of a nurse. When Maddy left you can see a little decline in the communication in that office. I hope they are able to figure it out because they are all good nurses...The monitoring appoints were scheduled but sometimes you would have to wait a few because there were so many patients on certain days...It was close to $20,000 for egg retrieval process which didn’t include medication and the transfer was about $8,000

Dr. Surrey did what we thought would never happen, and that is give us a family. He is very knowable and caters to your individual needs. I am older and didn't think we would be very successful or that it would take several rounds. That wasn't the case, and we have a beautiful baby girl to show for it...Dr. Surrey would always call himself to give us the news. Good or Bad...Listen to what he has to say and trust the process.
They [Southern California Reproductive Center] have a great lab. I am older and got 4 good embryos on the first retrieval. And we were successful. They have their own bloodwork lab so you get results fast. It is ran very well and professional. No response on the weekends, hate waiting until Monday...[nurses] were wonderful. This is process is physically and emotionally draining and also hormonal. Dealing with stressed and crazy patients can't be easy but the girls were kind and patient and also invested. And that means a lot.
