Dr Amin is clearly very knowledgeable but I found I had to ask her the right questions to get the level of information I wanted out of her as opposed to her offering me explanations up front. As a non medical professional, I don’t always know what questions to ask so I found this way of communicating frustrating...Research everything ahead of them and go in with your list of questions. Don’t just take her instructions as a given. As her why she is suggesting this approach and what alternatives are. This is YOUR care. You should have the ability to make your own informed decisions.
Between the disorganization of the nurses and the lack of explanations of protocols by the doctor, I would not recommend this clinic [Reproductive Partners Medical Group]...Research everything ahead of them and go in with your list of questions. How was your experience with Marli Amin at Reproductive Partners Medical Group?
Dr Amin is clearly very knowledgeable but I found I had to ask her the right questions to get the level of information I wanted out of her as opposed to her offering me explanations up front. As a non medical professional, I don’t always know what questions to ask so I found this way of communicating frustrating. For example, for my embryo transfer, I just got instructions on meds instead of an explanation of my options (fully medicated, partially medicated, natural) and why the doctor is suggesting the medicated route. After starting the FET cycle, I did my own research and asked Dr Amin if she did natural cycles and she said she did. This information was never provided to me before the cycle or presented as an option. This is just one example but there were several times where I felt I was just given instructions instead of a menu of options and a clear explanation why the doctor is recommending a certain course of treatment.

Research everything ahead of them and go in with your list of questions. Don’t just take her instructions as a given. As her why she is suggesting this approach and what alternatives are. This is YOUR care. You should have the ability to make your own informed decisions.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Marli Amin at Reproductive Partners Medical Group?
Dr Amin did a good job of calling me directly during critical points even when on vacation for my results. The nursing staff was disorganized, usually didn’t know where I was in my journey, and did not promptly respond to emails.
Describe the protocols Marli Amin used in your cycles at Reproductive Partners Medical Group and their degree of success.
I was never told the rationale for anything except one important piece of advice she gave me was I originally went in to freeze eggs but since I already had some eggs frozen elsewhere previously, she suggested given my age that I try to freeze embryos instead. This was excellent advice.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Partners Medical Group.
I found the nursing staff incredibly disorganized. When I was only freezing embryos in 2021, they tried to prepare me for a saline sonogram during one visit. I had to ask multiple questions as to why I had to take a certain medication and they said for the procedure before my transfer. I said I’m not transferring for 2 more years. It was very concerning. I was also not a local patient. I flew across the country to this clinic and doctor and the team could never remember that. Lastly, email communication was awful. They didn’t have a shared email account for the doctor they support so whoever is on duty can reply. Instead, you have to hunt down the emails of individual nurses and if they are off that day, you don’t get a response. The two other clinics I’ve worked with always had shared emails so whoever is on duty will respond. I have gone 3-4 days without responses from nurses here.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Partners Medical Group.
Between the disorganization of the nurses and the lack of explanations of protocols by the doctor, I would not recommend this clinic. Dr Amin knew I flew across the country to have my egg retrieval done by her. During my second week of stims, I was informed she was gone for the next two weeks on vacation and someone else would be doing my monitoring and retrieval. If I had known this in advance, I would never have gone there. A vacation is something you plan in advance and yet no one bothered to tell me until I’m already in the middle of the cycle. Dr Castellano saw me once during monitoring and I had an awful experience with her. When she saw how many follicles I had she said I could get 30+ eggs and even said “20 at minimum”. I didn’t, I got 16. She also saw in my chart that I had 18 frozen eggs elsewhere and she said a weird off the cuff comment asking if I wanted “5 kids or something, maybe you do”. Of those 16 eggs, I made 3 euploid embryos and 2 have resulted in miscarriage and no live births so no Dr C, I will not have 5 kids or something.

I am lucky to have Progyny so I can’t speak to costs. I did have one encounter with billing that was unpleasant. They tried to make me pay for a procedure that should have been covered by Progyny. The dates were just wrong so they needed to call Progyny and fix. I told them 3 times. They never did it so I just called and had Progyny fix it and ask the clinic to just confirm the new dates.

Dr. Amin is a miracle whisperer. She takes the time to listen and answer all my questions. We started working with Reproductive Partners and Dr. Amin in May of 2021, it is now April 2022 and we finally got our positive transfer, after 7 years of TCC. She took the time to test us for everything since we had been diagnosed as unexplained infertility.

She used a mild stim medication approach. Compared to my other egg retrievals, my follicles were less stimulated, but they were better quality. We also did a mock cycle, a month before the actual transfer, which made a huge difference. She tested for estrogen and it turned out I needed more, and we were able to up the dosage in for the actual transfer. She also tested my progesterone, and did a biopsy to confirm medicine dosage was correct.

The front desk team [at Reproductive Partners Medical Group] has had quite a bit of turnover in employees, so the human connection gets a bit lost. Sandra has been there the whole time and is great! Super helpful and seemingly interested in the patient...My doctor [Dr. Marli Amin] will transfer one genetic tested embryo at a time or two non tested embryos. She explained the reasons for each sufficiently to me.

Have all your questions written down ahead of time. It's hard to do this sometimes but it's hard to get ahold of her for followup questions. She will always call you if needed but there are so many layers to her thru before her. Call representatives answer the phones, then nurse calls you back, and accesses your situation. If you miss the call, you go thru the whole cycle again.

Sometimes it's very rush rush and get you out the door and other times it's very personalized.

Three IUI cycles using clomid. They could find nothing wrong with me and being 38 at the time a few months of this lower cost treatment made sense. After these IUIs failed, I had two egg retrievals (6 months apart) using antagonists and gonadotropins with an HCG trigger.

Stacy has left but most of the nurses are great. Patty and Erica are the best! Nettie is also good but newer.

Appointments did not run long and were usually on time. I LOVED THIS as a working woman. I appreciated the quick visits. I do feel like I should have asked more questions on numbers and such. They would read the size of the follicles, but I was never told a number to expect. She is so sweet! I felt safe and heard when I was under her care. Pre & Post retrieval. She made time to see me after retrieval to check me out. I would definitely recomment Dr. Amin and the team at RPMG.

Make sure to ask questions. Also, the Doctors rotate on who handles ultrasounds. So be aware that you might not see her every ultrasound, but the other doctor I saw was just as caring and there for you.

Dr. Amin took the time to connect on the day of my first ultrasound. At this clinic, they have schedules and she came on her off day. She was sweet and understanding. She made me feel seen and listened to my questions and answered them all. Didn't make me feel stupid. She took her time and I didn't feel rushed. After retrieval, she called me with the Final PGT results herself!!!

I used Menopur in the AMs & Gonal F in the evenings. near the end, they added Centrotide. I did use a trigger shot of Pregnyl.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Partners Medical Group.
All the ladies are sweet. Sometimes they would put me in the waiting area in the back and awkwardly close the door after I had been in there a while. but for the most part, they were awesome. When I emailed, I would get a response. sometimes there were some cases of phone tag, but it all worked out. Patty was so sweet on my last visit before retrival. I will forever remember her for being there for me in my moments of being scared. Got to shout out Monica who took my blood!! She's the nicest as well!

She also wanted to prevent the complication of ovarian hyperstimulation. We did ICSI since we also had male factor. We used 150 of menopur and 300 follistim throughout our cycle and triggered with pregnyl and lupron

We initially had a rough road with Patty but then she grew on us and was a very good source of support especially with our miscarriage Stacy was always a gem these two ladies made the process very bearable

Overall I have no complaints about this clinic aside from the way they’ve handled having a support person during the Covid crisis. Going through infertility and not being able to have your support person there is very difficult and that is literally my only gripe about the clinic. The clinic is set up and feels more like a day spa than anything else very warm, inviting, and comfortable.

I was able to go in for monitoring appointments any weekday unfortunately they didn’t do lining checks on the weekends because of limited staffing

We have infertility coverage with our medical insurance thankfully so we only needed to finance about $8000 of our IVF cycle. We went with a high-yield cycle which was much more expensive so between what we had to finance and co-pays we roughly paid $12,000 out-of-pocket. We finance through Future Families who after we financed with them was no longer going to work with our clinic so that made things slightly difficult but we were able to adjust and make it work

The office staff [Reproductive Partners Medical Group] was always friendly and great at guiding me through the process...the office orders meds during your visit that can be delivered the same day. The pharmacy they use has great prices too...I especially loved Patty. She was usually with Dr Amin when I had my monitoring...She would reassure me and even if the outcome wasn’t favorable, she had a way of helping me find comfort...

I had a really great experience! She was always professional, understanding and compassionate during a very emotional process. I felt comfortable to share my thoughts and feelings. I cried a few times and never felt judged. Dr. Amin was scheduled for vacation during the time I was to have my transfer. I cried when I found out that another doctor would be scheduled to do it. Although I would trust any of the physicians, I really wanted Dr Amin since she was with me from day 1 of this long emotional journey. She ended up coming in during her vacation to do my embryo transfer. She’s amazing!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Marli Amin at Reproductive Partners Medical Group?
Do whatever she advises and don’t be afraid to ask questions. It’s a lot of information so write things down, because it can be overwhelming. I know I would forget questions that I wanted to ask, so I would call or wait until my follow up appointments but it’s just easier to keep a list.

My husband and I started our consult just before the pandemic hit. However, once we were ready to get started with the process, everything went on lockdown due to rising Covid cases. Life doesn’t wait, so the office remained open but no longer allowed support persons, only patients/clients. Imagine how tough this journey is and to endure it alone. Dr Amin and the whole office really made me feel welcomed and comfortable. They were personable and always friendly. It felt as if they genuinely cared.

I did a mild stim because I have diminished ovarian reserve so there wasn’t much to work with anyway. That means we weren’t real aggressive with meds but there were still daily injections, birth control pills and hormones. I had a uterine biopsy which was not fun but allowed Dr Amin to see when and if I was receptive. It also would show if something were abnormal with my uterus. We did a mock trial, which is exactly what it sounds like. It mimics the actual transfer to ensure that the timing is correct for when it’s go time. It did cost a little more, but I really believe it’s worth it.

Everyone was awesome! I especially loved Patty. She was usually with Dr Amin when I had my monitoring. Some days we laughed and other days I cried to her. She would reassure me and even if the outcome wasn’t favorable, she had a way of helping me find comfort. The office staff was always friendly and great at guiding me through the process.

One of the clinics strengths is the protocol they developed at the beginning of Covid to prevent the spread of infection. This included a questionnaire and temperature checks at the door. Another strength is that the office orders meds during your visit that can be delivered the same day. The pharmacy they use has great prices too, I’ve searched around.

I credit Dr Amin for finding out our infertility issue immediately. We knew from the testing my OBGYN did that I was not ovulating properly, and that my husband was experiencing low sperm count, motility and morphology. Dr Amin said it was in our best interest that we perform a DNA fragmentation test on the sperm. Thank God we did. It showed that the sperm was severely damaged and the past 8 months of trying to conceive, there was less than a 1% chance of naturally conceiving. My husband followed up with a Reproductive Urologist, who found a varicocele and large lipoma in his scrotum. They were removed via lap surgery. 3 months later, my husband is completely fertile and we are now concentrating on my infertility and inducing ovulation with medication. Dr Amin gave us an actually chance of conceiving and I will be forever grateful to her.

Because I do not ovulate well on my own (oligoovulation), Dr Amin has me taking Clomid or Letrozole CD5-9 to produce mature eggs. I am triggered when the follicle is 22-26mm in size and we schedule our IUI 2 days later (36-48 hours later). They make you come back for a second IUI the next day if the ultrasound doesn’t confirm ovulation.

We’ve had issues when it has come to the billing after we started at our IVF cycle. We were told that if we were to use Future Family for our IVF lender that it would make everything very simple for us and then after egg retrieval we ended up having multiple unexpected bills that sent us into a state of panic thinking that all the sudden we had extra out-of-pocket expenses. We also had issues with the specialty pharmacy (Avella) not sending the proper amount of medications in nearly endangering our cycle when they would not correct the issue

Started with meds/ IUI. I was on 2, 2.5 mg letrezole pills for 5 days. On the second round, we added estradiol to thicken my uterine lining. It caused a massive delay in ovulation. We had hoped to not start with injections given my pelvic pain. We then progressed to injections for IVF even though she expresses concern about me doing it because of how I reacted pain wise to the IUI. She was very conservative in my dosing. I don’t remember the exact protocol but I used gonal f, menapour, HCG, and I can’t remember the third injection or dose. We retrieved 28 eggs, 26 fertilized, 6 genetically viable, 15 embryos total on ice. She mentioned wanted to be conservative in stimulating time ensure better egg quality. No symptoms of OHSS. Due to covid 19, I am waiting for the next steps. I’m 36 in two weeks and very pleased with the result.

When my husband and I arrived for the consultation, Dr. Amin called us from the waiting room herself. She had reviewed my medical records ahead of time and took her time to review med history and future goals, and explain our options for fertility treatments. During subsequent visits for monitoring, surgery, etc. she also had great bedside manners

I believe an antagonist protocol was used. First, I was put on birth control pills for about 2 weeks. All patients start stim injections on Saturdays. I took Menopur, Gonal-F, Ganirelix, and hCG for 2 cycles. Doses (mg, units etc) were not adjusted at all day-to-day or cycle-to-cycle. Only difference was I was on meds for longer # of days during 2nd cycle to give follicles more time to grow. 1st cycle: started with 8 follicles. On retrieval day, out of 7 follicles, 3 mature eggs and 2 immature eggs retrieved. 2nd cycle: Started with 9 follicles (based on what Dr told me during appt, but medical records I requested later only show max of 6 follicles during that cycle). On retrieval day, out of 5 follicles, 2 immature eggs were retrieved and the other follicles were “empty”. The immature eggs retrieved were able to mature overnight in the lab. So, total of 5 eggs frozen from 1st cycle and 2 eggs from 2nd cycle.

The clinic seems pretty well organized, and the staff are pleasant and responsive. Scheduling is easy to do. Hours of operation are pretty good and days of operation are excellent—7 days a week, including some holidays. My one complaint is that one of the financial coordinators was going to call me back about my inquiry of what would happen if we decided to cancel the cycle after stims had already beeb started but before egg retrieval. She was going to check with my insurance and let me know, but she never got back to me. I completed the cycle (and got a poor result) and then contacted the insurance myself and found out I could’ve cancelled the cycle and only paid for treatments up to that point, and could save the unused credit towards part of another cycle. I wish I would’ve contacted my insurance company directly in the first place because the clinic staff was unreliable and I felt like I wasted part of a cycle (time, money, and meds) as a result.

Dr. Amin was always there for any procedure and often changed her schedule just so she handled them herself. I'm one of those rare patients whose uterine linings just wouldn't cooperate and I appreciated that she would continue to try new protocols and often brought in research about supplements, eastern medicine, etc to try alongside the treatment plans so it was a more holistic approach. I cannot say enough good things about her and would recommend her to anyone living in the LA area!
Patty, along with the other nurses at RPMG were fantastic. They were all super friendly, informative, approachable and compassionate. How was your experience with Marli Amin at Reproductive Partners Medical Group?
Dr. Amin is hands down the best doctor. I worked with her for a little over two years and, even though, this clinic was a drive for me and i knew I had good doctors available that were much closer, I still preferred to drive the 30 mins each way just to see her. She's incredibly kind, compassionate, empathetic, trustworthy and down to earth. She makes herself accessible to patients, even after hours, explains all procedures in great detail, delivers bad news in the best way possible - she's informative and direct, but also so incredibly kind and sympathetic in her delivery. She's the kind of doctor that would follow-up just to make sure you were okay, even days after.Dr. Amin was always there for any procedure and often changed her schedule just so she handled them herself. I'm one of those rare patients whose uterine linings just wouldn't cooperate and I appreciated that she would continue to try new protocols and often brought in research about supplements, eastern medicine, etc to try alongside the treatment plans so it was a more holistic approach. I cannot say enough good things about her and would recommend her to anyone living in the LA area!

If you ask her, she will always make time for you, so let her know when you have questions or when you feel like want another consultation.

Dr. Amin has the BEST bedside manner of any doctor that I've ever had, even outside of the fertility world. Obviously, infertility is a delicate subject and often very emotional, and she handles every situation with grace and kindness. She made herself completely available to me, even after hours, always took time to answer any questions we had and managed to deliver even the worst news in the best way possible. I always felt very cared for, emotionally and physically. I'm honestly so thankful to have worked with her during this incredibly difficult journey.
Describe the protocols Marli Amin used in your cycles at Reproductive Partners Medical Group and their degree of success.
IVF protocol: I did not use Lupron in my protocol, but instead used birth control for a few weeks and then used Menopur and Gonal-F simultaneously. She monitored closely and adjusted dosage based on follicle development. Dr. Amin recommended a frozen embryo transfer, so we froze all, did PGS testing and proceeded with a frozen transfer.

Patty, along with the other nurses at RPMG were fantastic. They were all super friendly, informative, approachable and compassionate. I always received a phone call back the same day and they were always available to answer questions when needed. Also, the appointments are made by the nurses at RPMG, so you can ask questions over the phone, which is nice.

Dr. Amin was open to multiple, but strongly recommended eSET, especially because our embryos were tested. I appreciated this approach because it proved to my that this wasn't just about increasing her or the clinics pregnancy rates, but she was truly looking out for what was best for my health and the baby's health.

Dr Amin is very thorough when she is explaining things. I do a fair amount of research myself so I can ask her specific things and she is great about me doing that. She also always has time for questions. She’s quick to respond on email as well even during all that is going on now with covid...I did 2 cycles of clomid and iui with her. They were pretty standard...The first time we only inseminated once and the second time we did two times.
All of them [nurses at Reproductive Partners Medical Group] have been great and very helpful whether I’m in office, calling or emailing...Our iuis were $1,500-$2,000 for each. Ultrasounds are $160. Same day blood tests are $80-$90. Initial consultation is $250. Follow up consultation to move from iui to ivf was $135...Everything is good but going over the financials could be done a little different. At the end of your initial consultation they go over the treatment and costs and feels a little like buying a car and picking different features. Perhaps there is a way to soften this up a bit.

I did 2 cycles of clomid and iui with her. They were pretty standard. This was a year ago and I don’t remember a lot of specifics. My dosing was 5mg clomid for 5 days and then a trigger shot. The first time we only inseminated once and the second time we did two times.

She explained that we would first try a low dose of clomid paired with an IUI. The first cycle was successful, but unfortunately ended in a miscarriage. We are preparing to try another medicated IUI cycle next month.

The first time I went to see her - I did a post-coital test that showed no sperm get to the uterus. Then we did one round of IUI natural and I received a negative pregnancy test. Then we did a second round and it was positive. This time, going for a second child, I went through 3 natural IUI's with no positive results. I requested injectables. I am currently awaiting results.

I did a minimal stimulation (because if you have less than 4 follicles during an avg cycle, more drugs will not help) IVF course of egg retrieval twice, on clomid for 5 days, then doing one HCG injectable a few days prior to planned egg retrieval. The egg retrievals were easy and painless with hardly any down time.

Dr Amin was very warm and personable during all visits. She performed my IUI and explained everything completely. She also assisted on my uterine septum surgery. She always gave time to answer questions and I never felt rushed.

[Dr. Amin] is easy to talk to. I am not paying $25K to have a nice doctor. I am paying for results, which I didn't get. I felt there weren't too much creativity to the Art of Medicine with tweaking protocols for the patient. It was more of a standardized approach...both protocols were never adjusted and the 2nd cycle I did 0 bloodwork after starting injections.
$15,900 for traditional cycle and meds were additional $4k...There were a few times that [Reproductive Partners Medical Group] nurse kept asking for the same paperwork when I had emailed them 3 times and they still didn't upload to the patient portal. I was not able to get my results , I had to ask for them to be uploaded so make sure you remind them to upload it..

1st cycle: BCP+150 Menopur+ 225 Gonal+Cetrotide+Pregnyl 0 blasts; all embryos arrested on day 3 2nd cycle: estrogen+150 Gonal+Cetrotide+ Pregnyl; all embryos arrested on day 3 both protocols were never adjusted and the 2nd cycle I did 0 bloodwork after starting injections.

It's a place to try to get you pregnant with their mini, mild, or traditional protocol. That is all. There were a few times that the nurse kept asking for the same paperwork when I had emailed them 3 times and they still didn't upload to the patient portal. I was not able to get my results , I had to ask for them to be uploaded so make sure you remind them to upload it, after all, they are your records and you paid $15,900 for one cycle where you would deserve to get the paperwork.

Just started the first cycle [with Dr. Marli Amin]...I was recommended single embryo transfer since it prevents twins and all the complications that come with it...is very personable and approachable. She explained everything in detail during our consultation and ultrasounds. Everything was laid out in plain terms easy to understand...easy to talk to and she makes you feel like you are in good hands...She was able to explain my plan of care and answer all the questions I have.
[Reproductive Partners Medical Group has a] Convenient location by the FWY, large space, doesn't feel crammed. Disadvantage - a bit dark, no windows, a lot of artificial light. Clinic is very clean and seems newly renovated, equipment looks new too...All the nurses are great and seem to know what they are doing. Everyone was eager to answer questions over and again and make sure you are comfortable with your care...

Thr clinic worked great as a team. They were supportive of eachother and of their patients. They all were hopeful and encouraging. They want you to get your dream of a baby and you can just feel it. It is a great clinic anf i will go back if we need to for our next child.

It was cheaper out of pocket to visit the doctors at this clinic than my own obgyn. I believe the cost of an iui was around $700 a month, assuming you didnt need additional ultrasounds... but most of these costs were thankfully covered by my insurance.
