Dr. Hinckley met with my husband and I and allowed us to ask a ton of questions about our upcoming IVF cycle. ... When she called with news of how many eggs retrieved, etc, she was always upbeat and very thorough. ...generally a sign of poor egg quality. She instructed me to begin taking CoQ10 while we decide whether we want to attempt another cycle.
We showed up to one appointment and they [RSC] said we weren't on their schedule, however, they found us. Seemed to be a bit disorganized.... We also got a bill sent to us after we got told the bad news of our eggs, and when I called to inquire about this bill, they said it was sent by mistake. Overall, the facility is clean and nice, everyone is extremely nice, however we did run into a few minor issues.
How was your experience with Mary Hinckley at Reproductive Science Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Hinckley was amazing. She treated with us the utmost respect she was very caring and gentle when she had to give us bad news. She told us that our issue couldn't have been known until egg retrieval and she gave us immediate measures to take for a next possible cycle (still to be determined).
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Mary Hinckley at Reproductive Science Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
At RSC, you tend to talk to case managers more than the doctors. We had limited interaction with Dr. Hinckley, but each interaction was wonderfully handled.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Mary Hinckley at Reproductive Science Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Hinckley met with my husband and I and allowed us to ask a ton of questions about our upcoming IVF cycle. She was extremely patient with us and treated us with respect. When she called with news of how many eggs retrieved, etc, she was always upbeat and very thorough. When she had to call us about how all three embryos were genetically abnormal, she did so with grace, knowing it was difficult information for us to take given the odds. Dr. Hinckley has always made us feel comfortable and like we were in the best care.
Describe the protocols Mary Hinckley used in your cycles at Reproductive Science Center (US Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
I was on 150mg of menopur and 150mg of gonal-f. On my first ultrasound to count the follicles, they found 7, with the largest being 17mm. They called later that day for me to take cetrotide right then, and then add cetrotide to my daily shot cocktail. They adjusted gonal-f to 225mg. On the 10th day of injections, I had a few follicles over 20mm with others much smaller, but they had me do the lupron trigger for egg retrieval two days later. All my bloodwork showed no signs of egg issues, so no other adjustment during my treatment was done. They retrieved 14 eggs. 9 were mature. 7 were discolored, which Dr. Hinckley stated was generally a sign that they would not fertilize, however, 6 eggs fertilized. 3 eggs grew to blastocyst. After biopsy and genetic testing, all were not viable.
Dr. Hinckley called to give us the bad news and explained that it was fairly unexpected but generally a sign of poor egg quality. She instructed me to begin taking CoQ10 while we decide whether we want to attempt another cycle.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Science Center (US Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Shanda Mildon)
Shanda was wonderful. She was extremely easy to talk to and incredibly friendly. She was sometimes a bit hard to get a hold of, but she was on vacation for part of my treatment so it was understandable. She was extremely patient with all our questions, too.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Science Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
We showed up to one appointment and they said we weren't on their schedule, however, they found us. Seemed to be a bit disorganized. I wish we had better access to the doctor, and it would have been nice to have better guidance on foods to eat, vitamins/supplements to take, etc. during the process. We also got a bill sent to us after we got told the bad news of our eggs, and when I called to inquire about this bill, they said it was sent by mistake. Overall, the facility is clean and nice, everyone is extremely nice, however we did run into a few minor issues.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Mary Hinckley at Reproductive Science Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
We have insurance so our cost was $4500 for the IVF cycle, plus we paid $800 for a mock embryo transfer appointment with Dr. Hinckley. If we had done a frozen embryo transfer, our estimate was $4200.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Reproductive Science Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
We showed up for an appointment and the front desk staff didn't find us on the schedule. They saw our appointment on one application but it didn't transfer over to the scheduler. It took about 10 minutes but was cleared up with no issues.
