Dr Olcha is very knowledgeable, honest and upfront. I’d compare his care to working with a coach, he is going to help you get to your goal and will be clear with you what may happen and what you need to do. While I wouldn’t say is the type to coddle, he is not cold or disrespectful. He really cares of your outcomes...Don’t hesitate to email him with questions, he is very responsive...
I am a remote patient of SAMA Fertility (outside of the NYC area) and all my interactions are done via email, text, or phone except for surgery procedures which we travel for. I don’t mind the virtual approach. For those looking for a lot of in-person time this may not be what you’re looking for...Sama schedules my appts for ultrasounds with providers where I live on my behalf, which is amazing...procedures are done in NYC at Global Fertility and Genetics Center which is where the embryologists are also located...

Describe the protocols Meir Olcha used in your cycles at Sama Fertility and their degree of success.
I did 2 short or antagonist protocols for egg retrievals. I do not have a diagnosed infertility issue so I was a candidate to do this approach. To be honest, I never really discussed other protocols, this was just suggested on what we do to start and I didn’t question it. After starting treatment and doing testing I did research on my own and learned what protocol I was doing.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Sama Fertility.
Every person I have spoken to at Sama has been nothing short of wonderful. The team really cares about what they are doing. I believe they have recently grown and they are onboarding new staff there have been a few hiccups with appts scheduled ( Sama schedules my appts for ultrasounds with providers where I live on my behalf, which is amazing). All small hiccups that I don’t believe will be long-term issues for them.
Describe your experience with Sama Fertility.
The “clinic” is remote but procedures are done in NYC at Global Fertility and Genetics Center which is where the embryologists are also located. Location is very easy to get to (get a Spot Hero reservation to park across the street at 110 E57th!) Some patients can also use at-home ultrasound machines as part of their treatment (I don’t qualify because of fibroids) which seems very convenient.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Meir Olcha at Sama Fertility.
The pricing is a flat rate depending on your specific needs and protocol. All medications are included and shipped directly to you, which is so much better than having to purchase on your own. Cost also includes all ultrasounds and labs while you are in a cycle.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Sama Fertility.
A couple of appts were incorrectly scheduled with local providers. It was caught before it was a bigger issue.
I like the fact he [Dr. Meir Olcha] listens very well and over communicates. These are very important traits when going through fertility treatment. The ability to listen and explained thoroughly the course of action is very important. I also love the fact that he takes the time the course of action in terms of treatment...He suggested meditation and relax and trust the process. I felt that he listened very carefully and was extremely kind.
[Sama Fertility] Pros: super organized, check-in whether through phone calls or emails, on top of the the prescription. There are no surprised in terms of them changing the date of a procedure. The financial team does not blinds you. Other clinics sometimes would be blindsided you with extra cost. It has not been my experience with Sama...[nurse] is pleasant, organized and get back to you on a timely manner.

I would tell any prospective patient of Dr Olcha to just be patient and listen carefully and ask all ur questions. Overall, you are in good hands.

SO I initially met him at New Hope where I did 3 cycles and they were a bust. Finally, we talked about a fourth cycle and we talked about changing the protocols. He took the time to have an in-person meeting at the height Covid to hear all my frustrations. He suggested meditation and relax and trust the process. I felt that he listened very carefully and was extremely kind.
Describe the protocols Meir Olcha used in your cycles at Sama Fertility and their degree of success.
My most successful cycle was round 4. The previous 3 cycles was done with Clomid and Gonal. It was mini IVF, stimulation for 10 days. Then u get the triggerl etc.. The fourth cycle, he added Menopur to the protocol. This resulted in 11 eggs being retrieved and 6 Embroys were created. 2 were high grade and normal. I did PGS on all. It resulted on my son being born. Currently, Im pregnant.

Insurance covered my cycles. When I no longer had coverage, the cost of FET was $5700 with meds included
Dr. Olcha is very comprehensive and gentle when explaining treatment steps. He is very engaged and clear when talked to you both in person or virtually. I felt very relaxed on the day of my procedure due to Dr. Olcha's calm personality...The entire process felt very customized for my body...Even though majority of my appointments were virtual due to distance, Dr. Olcha talked to me on every zoom or phone call. During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Meir Olcha at Sama Fertility?
Dr. Olcha talked on the phone with me consistently prior, during, and post treatment. He was always easy to access. Additionally, he would stay on the phone with me for as long as I needed to make sure I understood the next steps completely. I was apart of a pilot program where I did my own home ultrasounds. Dr. Olcha made this process so easy and walked me through every scan. My entire experience felt very personable and customized for me.
Describe the protocols Meir Olcha used in your cycles at Sama Fertility and their degree of success.
I was apart of a pilot program where I did all of my own transvaginal ultrasounds at home via a remote probe and app on my phone. This was the highlight of my experience. This allowed me to cut down the amount of in clinic appointments as well as maintain a full work schedule up to my procedure. Dr. Olcha walked me through each scan and made it very easy/efficient. I felt empowered and educated about what was happening in my body during my hormone treatment by preforming my own scans. We also were able to preform more scans during the 10 day treatment due to the easy accessibility - this allowed for a more custom hormone treatment plan. The entire process felt very customized for my body!
Describe your experience with your nurse at Sama Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Giana)
Giana explained how to preform the injections very clearly and provided me with a lot of video content to make it easy!

Dr. Olcha individualizes your treatment. I had my protocol adjusted every time and we finally found what worked (which happened to be “less is more” for me). He was realistic about expectations but also very optimistic! Made me feel safe and that we will get the aspired result! I saw him at pretty much every visit which made me feel even more confident...prefers to do SET initially, but if that fails he will do more than one embryo in consequent transfers, especially if doing fresh...

There was a mix up with submitting a pre-authorization for medication to my insurance, and I had to pay out of pocket. However, the clinic did reimburse me.
Dr. Olcha loves what he does, he's extremely talented at it, but above all else he truly cares about his patients and their outcomes. He is patient, honest, thorough, and proactive. He is an excellent communicator. We feel like he is a part of our family now, and can't imagine going through any future cycles without being under his care...He provided his personal email and we were able to communicate as needed (though I tried to be respectful and not inundate him). He was the first doctor to call me after a procedure to check in and make sure I was feeling ok. Even on his days out of the office he was responsive to emails if they were urgent. I was really able to let go of my fears and just trust him, and I got the impression all of his patients feel the exact same way. He is a rare find and is invested in every patient and their future family as if it's an extension of his own family. He is stuck with us a
I had been given conflicting information about the status of my embryos [at New Hope Fertility Center]...The nurses are wonderful. I had one instance of the wrong drug information being communicated which probably had more to do with different doctor's taking over my chart after an egg retrieval than a nurse error...takes lots of insurances and doesn't balance bill, so they are one of the more affordable options as far as I have heard. I think there are enough doctors that no matter what you are dealing with, your background, or your concerns, you can find a doctor that is a good fit for you. I wish I had spoken to a couple doctors before getting started because I probably would have gone with Dr. Olcha right away and had a much better experience throughout. I am sure there are doctors at the clinic just as loved by others for different reasons (though I maintain he is a gem!!)
How was your experience with Meir Olcha at New Hope Fertility Center?
I think I already covered this in the last question. But to add a little more colour, I grew up a physician's daughter and was treated in my father's medical community by his colleagues until I was an adult. I was used to doctors treating me like their own daughter. Now of course as I independently navigate the health sphere I understand just how rare it is to find a doctor who treats you like family, especially when you're a perfect stranger. Dr. Olcha loves what he does, he's extremely talented at it, but above all else he truly cares about his patients and their outcomes. He is patient, honest, thorough, and proactive. He is an excellent communicator. We feel like he is a part of our family now, and can't imagine going through any future cycles without being under his care.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Meir Olcha at New Hope Fertility Center?
Ask for him first.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Meir Olcha at New Hope Fertility Center?
Where to begin. I had seen three other doctors at the same clinic as every time I had a procedure, whoever was assigned to perform it that day sort of took me over. All of the doctors were professional and knowledgable, but it weren't a good fit for me personally, especially because being passed around lead to errors in communication, resulting in the wrong medication being prescribed, an extremely painful endoscopy without any pain medication, and other unpleasantries. I was feeling very disheartened and beginning to lose trust.
Dr. Olcha went above and beyond from day one. He immediately reassured me that things were indeed on track even though I had been given conflicting information about the status of my embryos after NICS (he is the Director of NICS so I went with his opinion in the end!). He provided his personal email and we were able to communicate as needed (though I tried to be respectful and not inundate him). He is stuck with us as long as we need a reproductive endocrinologist for as long as he is practicing!
Describe the protocols Meir Olcha used in your cycles at New Hope Fertility Center and their degree of success.
By the time I switched to Dr. Olcha, it was in time for my first transfer. There was some debate about whether to go for a third IVF cycle/egg retrieval because we hope for a large family, but ultimately we decided to do the transfer after two cycles. So far so good!

I think this is very personal. The waiting room is extremely diverse. Infertility effects everyone and I was happy to see everyone comfortable coming to the same place for treatment. NHFC takes lots of insurances and doesn't balance bill, so they are one of the more affordable options as far as I have heard. We had amazing insurance and were incredibly grateful. I honestly don't have a sense of what we spent out of pocket because the overwhelming majority was covered and then we weren't balance billed.

I can't speak to this but we transferred one embryo.
What specific things went wrong at New Hope Fertility Center?

Failed to consider drug intolerance
Describe the specific things that went wrong at New Hope Fertility Center.
I have several drug allergies and when I was passed between doctors, it was like they hadn't even read my chart. It was clear from their questions they did not even know the cause of our infertility. I was given BC for another retrieval round even though I was headed for transfer and since I'm so drug sensitive I had horrible headaches for days for no reason. Just frustrated me at the time on top of everything else and just the general stress of all the meds and hormones.
I was never informed I had "switched" doctors (I hadn't), so when a new doctor who had been assigned to do my egg retrieval then ordered an endosee and spent all of 10 seconds explaining what was involved, I trusted them to move forward with this plan and assumed it was routine/ordered by the primary doctor overseeing my care.
I will spare you the details, but the endosee, which we could not complete, was traumatic for me and the most pain I have ever felt in my life. In my opinion, the doctor took the procedure much too far witnessing the level of pain I was struggling with, and did not even return to the room to check on me afterwards even though I was sobbing.
Given my history it should have never been performed without sedation (both my retrievals were under anesthesia) and it was clear to the primary doctor overseeing my care that I could not take vicoden or valium (allergic) which were offered to me the morning of... thus I was not administered anything for pain at all. Being offered these meds was my first tip that this was not a mild procedure (and that again important details about my medical history weren't coming up at critical times) and I felt extremely ill prepared going in. Looking back I still can't believe it happened.
You do have to be flexible because your retrievals and transfers have to be timed perfectly and you get who is assigned that day, but you really need to learn to advocate for yourself and not hesitate to ask questions, raise eyebrows, trust your gut, and reiterate things about your unique case to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
Eventually Dr. Olcha performed a hysteroscopy on me under anesthesia. He discovered mild cervical stenosis, tried a water ultrasound, sono (I think), and performed a mock transfer to make sure that on the day of it would be smooth sailing. I was so grateful for his patience and it felt like he went above and beyond even though what he encountered was trickier than he expected. I felt so relieved and that he maximized the opportunity to explore my condition during a single procedure.
Dr. Olcha was able to do fresh egg retrieval which resulted in 19 eggs. We ended up with 9 embryos then sent them for PGS testing. We now have three PGS normal embryos. I was so nervous of transferring the frozen eggs to a new facility but Dr. Olcha and the embryologist team at New Hope put me at ease. Their communication was amazing! I was also very nervous during my fresh egg retrieval because I did not use anesthesia. Dr. Olcha was great and I'm so glad I did it that way.

How was your experience with Meir Olcha at New Hope Fertility Center?
I came to New Hope Fertility Clinic after a failed IVF experience at another clinic. During our 1st meeting with Dr. Olcha, I knew that we would be in good hands. Dr. Olcha is direct yet personable. He answered all of our questions in detail and made us feel heard.
Although New Hope is a big clinic, I did not have the feeling that I was just a number. Prior to my procedure, Dr. Olcha checked on me frequently throughout email and phone. He answered any questions that I had quickly.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Meir Olcha at New Hope Fertility Center?
If you are trying to determine what doctor to use at New Hope, I would definitely recommend Dr. Olcha.

I had already froze 29 eggs from another clinic. After meeting with Dr. Olcha, we decided to thaw 15 of those eggs and complete another IVF cycle. My insurance paid for majority of treatment. I believe we had to pay $1,200 co-insurance and $5,500 for PGS testing
Dr Olcha suggested single embryo transfer to avoid any complications or birth defects...treated us very nicely and always there for us whether it's a sonogram or consultation or any questions. He never hesitated to answer any question whether it was face to face or via email...was very friendly and cleared every doubt we had regarding the IVF. He took personal interest at every level to make sure we are comfortable. He even wrote a letter to our insurance explaining our situation for shifting from IUI to IVF. Our first FET was unsuccessful due to unknown reasons which was done by another doctor. He made sure the second one be a success and took every measures to make it success and it did. We are happy, we choose New Hope and Dr. Meir Olcha.
Strengths [at New Hope Fertility Center] would be: The clinic is well staffed. Whether it is for blood work or sonogram or Insurance and billing help. I don't think they have any weakness...doctors are well experienced and really helpful...20 eggs were retrieved. Among them, 18 were fertilized, and 11 reached the blastocyst stage. Others were abnormal so were discarded. I was prescribed some other medications to make sure the 2nd FET to be a successful. And one of them was stopped on the day of FET and others were continued till 10 weeks of pregnancy.

Describe Meir Olcha's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at New Hope Fertility Center.
Dr Zhang and Dr Olcha suggested single embryo transfer to avoid any complications or birth defects.
I always felt like he [Dr. Olcha] was giving me his full attention - he was always in the office when I would go in for monitoring the mornings. I think he works everyday because I would always see him which was so lovely. He could always come in to my scans and give me feedback right there which was really helpful for me because I like to be informed...He made what tends to be a stressful situation so easy and positive! I truly have only good things to say about my experience.
Before my first cycle [at New Hope Fertility Center] and before the second cycle, I took birth control to baseline everything... The results were good both times - he [Dr. Olcha] seemed really happy with it - overall, 18 eggs retrieved and 17 frozen...The nurses were AMAZING. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. They really helped me with any additional questions I had...Tons of seating and really open and bright with lots of windows. I visited other locations with waiting areas that are dark and depressing with women waiting packed together in a room - that does not work for me! After checking in with the receptionist (who were all so friendly),
How was your experience with Meir Olcha at New Hope Fertility Center?
From the moment I met Dr. Olcha, I knew I would be in the best hands. I didn't know much at the beginning of the process about anything and he was so patient and explained everything to me. During my first retrieval, I had a ton of questions but he answered everything and really made me feel at ease. My experience was really positive - the medication he prescribed to me for both cycles was so easy - the injections didn't hurt - it was a dream scenario. I responded well both times and had good outcomes and he was happy with the results and was really with me every step of the way both times. I am so fortunate to have had Dr. Olcha as my doctor. He made what tends to be a stressful situation so easy and positive! I truly have only good things to say about my experience.

My advice to a prospective patient of Dr. Olcha's would be NOT to worry. He's the best! You can't go wrong!

Describe the protocols Meir Olcha used in your cycles at New Hope Fertility Center and their degree of success.
For both cycles, my treatment was pretty similar. Before my first cycle and before the second cycle, I took birth control to baseline everything. Then once I started, it was a Follstim injection every night for the whole time with Clomid for the whole time as well and Letrozole for the first 5 nights. Orillissa before I triggered, and then the retrievals! It was really easy and pain-free - the injections did not hurt me at all even though I was so scared in the beginning! I would go in for monitoring early in the morning and he would always have instructions for me on what protocol to do next right away and I never had to wait long. The results were good both times - he seemed really happy with it - overall, 18 eggs retrieved and 17 frozen.

I have nothing but great things to say about New Hope! The offices are beautiful - right on Columbus Circle - it's large and spacious and very calming (I love the fish tanks!). They really know what they are doing and are so professional. I researched other places before deciding to go with New Hope. What they do their is so impressive! I really think they are the best at what they do.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at New Hope Fertility Center.
I loved going in for monitoring! It the highlight of my weeks! The lobby/waiting area is so lovely and spacious. Tons of seating and really open and bright with lots of windows. I visited other locations with waiting areas that are dark and depressing with women waiting packed together in a room - that does not work for me! After checking in with the receptionist (who were all so friendly), I'd sit and wait for a few minutes before being called in for bloodwork. I don't love getting my blood taken but everyone at New Hope was so gentle and I survived every time and it barely hurt and they made me feel at ease. Then when I would get called in for the ultrasound, it was so fun and informative to see everything on the screen and how my follicles were progressing. Dr. Olcha works so hard everyday so every morning that I would go in for monitoring, he would be there! It was nice to have him in all of my scans! Chelsea, the physician's assistant who works with Dr. Olcha, is also a star. She is so lovely and I am so thankful she was there doing most of my scans for me.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Meir Olcha at New Hope Fertility Center.
The costs were in line with what was originally outlined - I did my research so I pretty much knew what they would be. I think it was well worth the expense.
Dr. Olcha made the entire process very simple. His expertise, professionalism and personal manner made it very easy for me and my husband. We were more than happy with every detail of the process. The entire experience seemed so simple yet personal. Never did we have any doubt on anything as Dr. Olcha was very good in explaining everything... made sure I didn’t need too much IVF injections and was monitored on a daily basis. Once my eggs were at a good size; in one simple procedure he was able to retrieve 26 eggs! And 8 embryos were then then frozen. We also did genetics testing as we hoped our first born be a boy along with checking for diseases. The entire process was well communicated at all times. In my next cycle he performed our chosen embryo transfer. Everything went very well and I am now 9 weeks pregnant thanks to Dr. Olcha!
The nursing staff [at New Hope Fertility Center] are a great reflection on the clinic. Each and every nurse are super nice and attentive. Any time I had the most simply question they were are very helpful. My emails would also be responded to in a timely manner. I must say the nurses are a great contribution to the clinic and the great work that takes place there. Well done! I will miss seeing your familiar faces!

Dr. Olcha is very communicative and you can reach him with a simple email. He makes it a point to meet with you after procedures. [New Hope Fertility Center] clinic doesnt push all the normal medications if you dont want them. They offer a variety of IVF treatments including a natural IVF which is no stimulating drugs and just a trigger shot to release the egg for retrieval. I was drawn to this practice because they focus on one good quality egg and not the amount of eggs...[cost]about 1500 for retrieval, transfer about 7000. Every monitoring appointment, cost varies

Clomid 2x a day and Letrozole 1x a day. Stopped Letrozole and then stopped Clomid because FSH was rising too high. I did a mini ivf which Dr Olcha thought was a good way to go because sometimes many places use too many drugs and that could harm the egg/embryo. I received 2 eggs, when in the retrieval he actually had one retrieved that was 10 mm (which Ive never heard of, usually they only will retrieve if theyre 18mm). The egg matured and was fertilized but sadly by day 3 failed to grow. I am now on birth control to hopefully get my hormones more balanced for the next try.

1st retrieval [with Dr. Olcha] was a cyst so we grew the remaining follicles. He tweaked the Clomid dosage...Next cycle he might do clomid + injectables (Im doing "mini ivf")...He actually cares. I feel he is customizing & tweaking everything based on most recent results. he takes time to explain everything & make sure Im at ease & understand everything. When doing my retrieval (my 1st ever) he explained to me every step of the way which kept me so calm. I know the difference since my prior doc treated me like a #. Dr Olcha is night and day from her & Im soooo happy I switched to him.
Doctor Nps
I usually deal with [the nurses at New Hope] who draw blood + the sonogram. Nurses usually just email the instructions (after you leave). the ones I have dealt at the clinic, some are very dry/no bedside manners....one told me I was pregnant (instead of letting doc tell me...it was a chemical pregnancy)...i saw her again 2 weeks later & she didnt even remember me...[monitoring is a] super well oiled machine. Window is 7am thru 1pm....7-9am if you want to speak to a doctor. I would get in 7:45 and be our by 8:30-8:45 in time to get to work. Super easy
How was your experience with Meir Olcha at New Hope Fertility Center?
Dr Olcha was my 2nd doctor here. He came in to explain how they couldn’t do retrieval the next day (what would have been my 1st) since I had ovulated…Orlissa didn’t work for me. He explained to me in 5 mins more than my prior doc at same clinic had explained to me in 2 months with her. He gave me options (clomid to grow rest of follicules vs timed intercourse which he recommended the later).
I had a consultation with him since I noticed he was an RE & I just kept thinking of how different (good) I felt with him vs my prior doctor. 10 seconds into the meeting I started crying…it was like all my walls came down & I felt safe…I felt I could ask him and I wasn’t being rushed. He said “don’t cry, you are going to make me cry!”…something my prior doc would have NEVER said. I knew right there he saw me as a person, a human, not just another body. He went on to explain the whole process, calm/not rushed, would draw as he explained, talked in simple terms so you can understand. He looked at my prior results & immediately said what needed to be tweaked.
On my 1st egg retrieval – it ended up being an empty follicule (Cyst). Again he came to give me the bad news (vs sending a nurse). He knew my plan didn’t cover it & it was all out of pocket so he said he would process it thru my medical insurance as a cyst removal and if they covered it, I would get a credit with New Hope. That was the case which was a $1250 relief I could use towards next procedure. This also was my 1st retrieval ever. He kept me so calm, telling me what he was doing as he was doing it. That helped a lot! He said we would grow the remaining ones (lutheal fase & plan of action)
On my 2nd retrieval, I had 2 eggs retrieved, 1 fertilized. It didn’t make it to day 7. He said he would call me but since we had a consultation he figured he explained 1:1. Again he explained everything so clearly going step by step of the process & where my embryo stopped growing. I literally leave his office with so much hope every time since he explains every step & he has a plan of action already. He makes me feel safe & taken care of.
He works weekends which is great since less people there. When I get monitoring (blood & sonogram) – I usually see him right after looking at my results & getting to plan of action. He sometimes will either come in during or after the monitoring and answer any questions. He is very hands on. My prior doc I was with for 2 months & saw her twice (1st consultation + a meeting scheduled by me). With Dr Olcha I’ve seem him almost every time I’ve been there & If I don’t, I get very detailed emails from his nurse support team with his recommendations.
Im so happy I switched to him. He is the reason I have hope & feel like I can trust the science. That he is looking out for me & doing what is best for me. Its truly customized & making changes as we go & know more. He is night and day from my prior doc & I will recommend him to ANYONE (I already have). He is the best combination of knowledgeable, calm, compassionate, very good at explaining…..he is the PERFECT COMBO OF SCIENCE MEETS HEART! I feel so lucky God put him on my path. I trust he will get me there

Strength -
Very efficient. You are in & out in 30-60 mins. I have time to get to work before 9am. Never a long wait
You come in, check in, then look at monitor which tells you chair to draw blood or sonogram room. After you get email with instructions & next steps.
weakness - some of the nurses & Dr Lipkin (no bedside manners)....need a little bit more compassion. My doc is great so it's worth it for me.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at New Hope Fertility Center.
just 1 incident where I had 2 nurses send me emails with different instructions. This is before I know after monitoring you just go home & wait for the email so...I actually had someone tell me there what the next steps where. I replied to the email & said "i was told xyz(A), one of you is stating that (A) but another nurse emailed be (B)...which one is it??"....nurse I knew called me & clarified.
Dr. Olcha made me feel comfortable from the beginning of the process...promptly responded to my emails and reviewed my test results quickly...has a warm disposition...always called me by name and was very kind...left informative voicemails, following up with emails if we didn't connect
[Sama Fertility] is quick to respond, organized, works well together, and kind. I do not have any weaknesses to report...The entire nursing staff is incredibly organized and thoughtful. They listen and show compassion. I felt and still feel very well cared for!...treatment was fairly standard

Dr. Olcha promptly responded to my emails and reviewed my test results quickly. Dr. Olcha has a warm disposition and I felt very comfortable when I met him for the first time at his clinic in New York. Dr. Olcha always called me by name and was very kind. I still have his voicemails saved! And, I actually had a dream three days after transfer that included him - he asked me to put my hand on my belly and he put his on top of mine and told me to breathe six times. I did and then he said, "Ahhh, you are pregnant!"
Describe the protocols Meir Olcha used in your cycles at Sama Fertility and their degree of success.
As far as I know, I responded well to the medications, so the treatment was fairly standard. I reviewed every medication with a nurse prior to beginning it, and we did not need to change protocols, so the whole process was fairly straightforward.

The clinic paid for everything up until I tested positive for pregnancy. From there on out, my husband and I paid out of pocket for ultrasounds and then will submit a superbill to our insurance. Medications were covered by insurance, but we needed to pay for shipping as the pharmacy was out of state. We took out a loan, so the clinic deducted costs through our loan, which we could monitor online.
Describe Meir Olcha's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Sama Fertility.
He [Dr. Olcha] was very caring. He would take the time to research and look into different approaches for me and my husband. He would explain every step. And he was honest with what the outcomes would be. He didn’t waste embryos either. If the cycle was off or he didn’t like it and felt it wouldn’t be the best time to put an embryo in he wouldn’t waste a transfer. He was super caring. He always called to check in on me...
It [Morgan Fertility & Reproductive Medicine] was clean, organized, the staff was professional, and easy and convenient to make an appointment...Kelly [nurse] is AMAZING. I love the girls in Edison. So sweet...He [Dr. Olcha] really cares about his patients. My case was odd. My body responded in the not so common way. He was so great at figuring out what I needed...

We had male infertility my husbands sperm was dead. So he put him on hcg and clomid to regain it. Which that worked. My body reacted weird. My one ovary did really well while the other didn’t. We did a retrieval but only one egg made it to day 5. So we did a fresh transfer and it failed. I didn’t see the point in freezing one egg. The. The second retrieval. My body reacted weird again. And the opposite ovary reacted to the over stimulation medication really well and the other ovary didn’t react. So We did a second retrieval and we got 8 eggs to day 5 to freeze. We did a standard FET protocol. Ended in a chemical pregnancy. Then I called with my next cycle my labs were off so we canceled the cycle. The next month my labs were off and my endometrium. I respect his decision on not wasting eggs and waiting for the perfect time. So finally we decided to do an “unmedicated” FET. I was on minimally estridol and progesterone suppositories. And it worked!

They provided thorough and clear instructions...$10,000 per cycle (INCLUDING medications)...Antagonist protocol with estrogen priming
How was your experience with Meir Olcha at Sama Fertility?
Dr. Olcha went above and beyond my expectations. Beyond his exceptional bedside manner, it was obvious to me that he is truly an expert in the field. For patients of my AMH level, it is common to only retrieve 2-6 eggs per cycle. When my ovaries were not responding to the medication as expected, Dr Olcha adjusted my medications and adjusted my retrieval date, and we were able to retrieve 11 eggs the first round and 12 eggs the second round, with a total of 22 frozen. Dr. Olcha described it as the best possible outcome for my AMH level, and I credit Dr. Olcha fully for this success.
When I was anxious about the process, Dr. Olcha did not hesitate to call me, explain the likelihood of different complications, and reassure me. He did not minimize my anxiety but instead responded in a thoughtful way. He was straightforward in his communication and answered all of my questions. I am so thankful I found Sama Fertility!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Meir Olcha at Sama Fertility?
Do not hesitate to ask questions about your care. Know that you are getting the best possible care.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Meir Olcha at Sama Fertility?
Dr. Olcha has the best bedside manner of any doctor I've ever had. He was exceptionally kind and understanding of any anxiety I was having, and he explained my treatment in a straightforward and thoughtful way.
Describe the protocols Meir Olcha used in your cycles at Sama Fertility and their degree of success.
Antagonist protocol with estrogen priming (estrogen priming: took birth control pills ahead of time to ensure all follicles were the same size)
When my estrogen levels did not rise as expected, Dr. Olcha increased my follistim dose slightly. He also delayed my retrieval date by one day to ensure eggs had enough time to mature.
I was able to freeze 11 eggs each round, which was a fantastic result given my amh level is below 1.

Strength: at home ultrasounds! I choose to do my ultrasounds at home and I found it very easy and less disruptive than going into a clinic every other day. It was empowering to be able to see the follicles myself.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Meir Olcha at Sama Fertility.
Dr. Olcha was always calm and confident, explained everything to me thoroughly and was re-assuring, yet practical...never gave me false hope and kept my expectations in line...started a Vitamin D supplement and pre-natals (with CoQ10)...4 bloodwork appointments and 4 TV ultrasound appointments in the two weeks of injections.
[Sama Fertility's] biggest strength is the STAFF (!!!!), and organization/communicated. They really know what they are doing and it shows...were a dream to work with...don't have any weaknesses to mention as my experience was very seamless...Every text/email I sent was responded to or addressed immediately
How was your experience with Meir Olcha at Sama Fertility?
My experience with Dr. Olcha was extremely positive. I learned in the Fall that my AMH level is much lower than the typical level at someone of my age. I started looking at clinics and was connected with Sama. By the time I had my consultation, my AMH had dropped even further causing me much concern. Dr. Olcha was always calm and confident, explained everything to me thoroughly and was re-assuring, yet practical. He never gave me false hope and kept my expectations in line. We were both very excited about the outcome and number of eggs retrieved and matured/frozen. I would work with Dr. Olcha again in a heart beat (I am likely going to do a second round later this year!) and would recommend him to anyone I know going through the process.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Meir Olcha at Sama Fertility?
Ask questions and trust the process! I think sometimes the retrieval process can be overwhelming and feel extremely lonely. I would encourage any patients to ask any/every question they have and have faith in Dr. Olcha and his team. They definitely know what they are doing.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Meir Olcha at Sama Fertility?
Dr. Olcha and his team were incredible to work with. I was extremely nervous through the entire process because I don't know anyone personally who has frozen their eggs. The entire staff was extremely approachable and communicative. They answered my every (and many, many) question, followed up on any concerns I had, checked on my regularly, and made me feel like I had confidants and partners throughout the process.
Describe the protocols Meir Olcha used in your cycles at Sama Fertility and their degree of success.
Let's see... to prepare I started a Vitamin D supplement and pre-natals (with CoQ10). I was prescribed birth control for five days in order to get my cycle ready for injections (even though I have an IUD). I injected 200 units of Follistim for about a week and then started Follistim/Ganirelix (two injections) for a few days. Each night of injections I took a baby aspirin. Before the retrieval, I had two trigger shots (one belly, one bottom) and an anti-biotic, and a second trigger shot the next morning. My retrieval was easy with no complications.
My only symptom was bloating. I had 4 bloodwork appointments and 4 TV ultrasound appointments in the two weeks of injections.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Sama Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Oksana, Giana, Laura, Anita, Priya)
I cannot say enough amazing things about this care team. Every text/email I sent was responded to or addressed immediately. If I had concerns, I was always called and things were explained to me in detail.
There was one nurse, Anita, who really went above and beyond. I had a poor experience with the first ultrasound facility I went to (I was completing all appts remotely as I am not local to NY/NJ). I texted saying I didn't have trust in the technician and was feeling overwhelmed about returning to the facility. Anita called me and dealt with my anxious tears over the phone and reassured me that the experience was not normal and they would find another location. The team found another location within hours for my next appointment. I felt extremely heard.
Describe your experience with Sama Fertility.
Of course, it would be great to have all of your appointments in one location but given the challenge of me being located in Nashville, TN and the clinic being located in NY/NJ, it could not have gone smoother. I think the biggest strength is the STAFF (!!!!), and organization/communicated. They really know what they are doing and it shows. They were a dream to work with. I really don't have any weaknesses to mention as my experience was very seamless.
The only thing I would mention to a new patient is that you really need to be flexible in terms of work/appointments/days off. We were able to schedule all of my appts between 7-9 AM so that I didn't miss any work but the retrieval date was not confirmed until four days before. As a Type A person, this was stressful for me but I would know going into next time to block all the days, assume I am taking them off and book refundable flights/hotels. Obviously this is a complication working with a clinic further away but it was worth it for me to work with Sama. I would do it again.
I found Dr. Olcha to be straightforward in direction. He was cautious and did not transfer when the conditions were not optimal. This felt disappointing at the moment but when it worked one month later I was grateful we waited and did not waste a precious embryo...I agree with his approach to do a single transfer...I felt he was responsive and I really felt I got the care he would have given to his own close friend or family member
Strength [of Sama Fertility] is responsiveness, convenience...I didn’t have to wait for anything - everything was scheduled what felt like immediately. It was really a pleasure to deal with each staff member...Giana and Priya were my main care coordinators. They were both amazing. I would text them with various issues and they would immediately respond...I believe I paid about $7-8,000 for embryo creation and 2 transfer cycles

I found Dr. Olcha to be straightforward in direction. He was cautious and did not transfer when the conditions were not optimal. This felt disappointing at the moment but when it worked one month later I was grateful we waited and did not waste a precious embryo - which another doctor would have done. So many times he went above and beyond.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Meir Olcha at Sama Fertility?
Be proactive! That’s what he told me at our first visit. If you ask a question, you will get an answer.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Meir Olcha at Sama Fertility?
The best part of Sama Fertility was the access I had to staff, and even Dr. Olcha. I have been to three clinics throughout my journey and this was the only place where I was able to receive almost immediate responsiveness. This put my mind at ease ad quelled a lot of anxiety.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Sama Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Giana Spinelli)
Giana and Priya were my main care coordinators. They were both amazing. I would text them with various issues and they would immediately respond. At times there were issues with my gestational coordinator and they would magically resolve them. Because this was my third clinic I can assure the reader that this is not the norm. I am so grateful to them for everything they did throughout this process.
Describe your experience with Sama Fertility.
Strength is responsiveness, convenience (they were experts at conducting as much remotely as possible), and medical knowledge. I felt like I was in really good hands. I felt like there was a lot of red tape that I didn’t have to go through at this clinic that I had to deal with at other clinics. I didn’t have to wait for anything - everything was scheduled what felt like immediately. It was really a pleasure to deal with each staff member.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Meir Olcha at Sama Fertility.
I believe I paid about $7-8,000 for embryo creation and 2 transfer cycles (the first transfer could not be completed day of and he did not charge me the full price for the second round). This included medication.
Describe Meir Olcha's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Sama Fertility.
None. I agree with his approach to do a single transfer.
My experience with Dr. Olcha should be the standard that every person gets when they are exploring fertility treatments. He is unbelievably kind and caring. He never made me feel like I was just another random patient. He spoke to me with gentleness as well as explained everything I needed to know in a clear and straightforward manner. I was concerned about something and he called me at 8:45pm to hear my concerns and put them at ease. This is the type of doctor he is. This is the actions of a doctor that cares for his patients. If I could have him deliver my baby, I would. Thank Dr. Olcha
I honestly don’t have any complaints about Sama. I had a fantastic experience. When you’re dealing with fertility issues, it’s great to be at a place where the doctor and staff see and hear you. It’s great that patients can text any thoughts and concerns and get a response within a hour. I’ve texted several times and always got a response...Dr. Olcha is a wonderful doctor. He always answered my questions and alleviated any stress or anxiety I might’ve had during the process. I felt safe with him. He NEVER rushed me off the phone and listened to everything I said. He’s bedside manners as 10/10. I HIGHLY recommend him for anyone considering IVF treatments.

I did frozen embryo donation. I was on Estrogen (pill form 2mg and patch 0.1 mg) for 2 or 3 weeks prior to my transfer. I also took Progesterone in Vaginal suppository form (2X a day) as well as injection (1mg everyday until transfer and then every other day)
Describe your experience with your nurse at Sama Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Giana and Priya)
Both Giana and Priya were great. Both ladies were extremely professional and kind. Giana would call me and update me. I always got met with a warm and kind voice. If she had to call me back, she did it in a timely manner.
I never got the opportunity to speak to Priya over the phone however she was also very kind and professional via text. I have texted her on Sunday towards the evening and she always got back to me. She never made me feel guilty or bad if I needed some questions answered. Giana and Priya both made me feel safe that they were a text away. Both of these ladies have contributed to my wonderful experience with Sama. Thank you Giana and Priya.

The cost was broken in 3 parts. My medication, transfer procedure and embryo storage. It can store my second embryo for 3 years

He [Dr. Olcha] never once made me feel less of a human because of my weight, as other fertility specialist did in the past. He focused on my actual chart, tests, and numbers to help figure out what was going on and come up with an actual plan to get me the results I so desperately wanted...Dr. Olcha never got annoyed with me or short with me. He constantly worked with me and always looked to find solutions to help me...
What I liked about this clinic [Morgan Fertility & Reproductive Medicine] is how small and family oriented it is. It did not feel like you were just a number moving down the assembly line. Not only that, but whoever was available would help you and get to know you. I spoke to so many different people, and each time they were warm and friendly and even if they didn’t remember who I was specifically, they sure did make it feel as though they knew who I was...
How was your experience with Meir Olcha at Morgan Fertility & Reproductive Medicine (formerly Women's Fertility Center of New Jersey)?
Dr Olcha was and is absolutely fantastic. I was overwhelmed switching to Morgan Fertility because I was just leaving RMA where I was told I would never have a healthy baby or pregnancy because of my weight. (I am not that big). Dr Olcha never once brought this up as being a problem, and if it was, it was brought up in a matter of fact way that was kind and did not impact my mental health.
From the moment I arrived at Morgan Fertility, I was greeted with the most kind staff and given an actual plan immediately. Dr Olcha started me on letrozol right off the bat to get the ball rolling, and it worked! Unfortunately that pregnancy wound up ending in a very early miscarriage that left me absolutely devastated. I sat in Dr Olchas office very upset and in tears and he quickly closed the door to allow for privacy and talked me through what he saw, what he think may have happened, and how we can fix it so the next round worked. When going through grief, the plan helped so incredibly much. Dr Olcha immediately set up more testing and blood work to get to the bottom of what was going on and assured me when I saw him next that he was confident that I would fall pregnant quickly again. After more testing and blood work, we did not find a cause for the first miscarriage and decided to continue on. Dr Olcha recommended me to start on baby aspirin as soon as I found out I was pregnant again. I unfortunately miscarried again at 11 weeks. As soon a I spoke with Dr. Olcha, he not only emphasized with me, but he sent me for more thorough testing and a new plan. Throughout it all, I cannot thank Dr. Olcha enough. I’ve had many a break down and panic attacks and Dr. Olcha never got annoyed with me or short with me. He constantly worked with me and always looked to find solutions to help me. I cannot thank him enough for everything and I am so grateful I found Dr. Olcha and Morgan Fertility and I will continue working with them until I receive the results I am after.

GO TO HIM!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Meir Olcha at Morgan Fertility & Reproductive Medicine (formerly Women's Fertility Center of New Jersey)?
Dr. Olcha is the first Doctor throughout my fertility journey to look me in my eyes and tell me that if I needed anything at all to not hesitate to call him. He never once made me feel less of a human because of my weight, as other fertility specialist did in the past. He focused on my actual chart, tests, and numbers to help figure out what was going on and come up with an actual plan to get me the results I so desperately wanted.
Describe the protocols Meir Olcha used in your cycles at Morgan Fertility & Reproductive Medicine (formerly Women's Fertility Center of New Jersey) and their degree of success.
When I first arrived for my initial blood work and intake, my levels were at a good place to start letrozol with monitoring and a trigger shot. After this cycle resulted in a pregnancy, and I had explained I had had a previous chemical pregnancy, I was immediately sent for an early pregnancy loss panel. Dr. Olcha also noticed that I had an arcuate shape to my uterus and thought it could either be nothing, or a septum, and wanted to perform a hysteroscopy. I was very very nervous for the hysteroscopy and Dr. Olcha did such a great job. He made sure I was comfortable and I hardly felt a thing. After all testing it was determined I did not have any issues that could be seen and we started the next cycle with letrozol and a trigger once again. This resulted in a pregnancy that lasted me to 11 weeks when I once again, miscarried. I was re tested for any blood clotting disorders and thyroid issues which could have caused this. The next plans are to start me on blood thinner injections and baby aspirin to make sure clotting is not a factor. If I miscarry again, the plan is to send fetal tissue in for testing.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Morgan Fertility & Reproductive Medicine (formerly Women's Fertility Center of New Jersey).
I feel so bonded to the nursing staff at Morgan Fertility that after they told me I was graduating to an OB and moving on from their care, I actually cried. I cannot thank them enough. They were not only kind, but fun to be around. They communicated well and did not get upset when I called them in a panic for my results because I hadn’t heard right at 1pm! They were absolutely amazing and I truly wish I could bring them with me to my OB office.
To edit after miscarriage. The nurses were absolutely amazing. They cried with me when I returned and made me feel so warm and welcomed to be back, even though it was for a not happy reason. They felt with me and empathized with me. I truly adore them.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Meir Olcha at Morgan Fertility & Reproductive Medicine (formerly Women's Fertility Center of New Jersey).
All costs were covered by my insurance and I only had to pay my copay.
at each appointment I felt Dr. Olcha and/or his team were straight forward with letting me know what they were doing and why. I personally appreciated their straight forward manner but it wasn't abrasive or defeating, it was just honesty with some confidence and optimism about my goals mixed in...he recommended using Letrozole and a shot to induce ovulation. We did this for 3 cycles and got pregnant on the 3rd one...
I tended to have different nurses each time I came [Morgan Fertility & Reproductive Medicine] but all of them were friendly and did their best to get the patients through in a timely manner...Overall, the clinic was well run. The typical protocol for myself was that I would come in for an ultrasound and/or bloodwork and then a nurse would call me later that day to advise what the next steps were based on the results. I did not meet with Dr. Olcha at every appointment but I would typically see him there and if necessary, he did meet with me in his office to go over questions, next steps...
How was your experience with Meir Olcha at Morgan Fertility & Reproductive Medicine (formerly Women's Fertility Center of New Jersey)?
As stated in my prior comments, I felt Dr. Olcha was very straight forward and honest about his recommendations, potential risks and outcomes and did not try to push me into more complex procedures until we had tried some of the more simpler ones. I unfortunately had a missed miscarriage in the fall of 2021, but Dr. Olcha was very compassionate and again, straight forward on what my options were and expectations and what he felt could be potential right course of action. This was helpful to me as I had never experienced that before and really had no idea what was the right way to move forward in that type of scenario.

I was very apprehensive and nervous to start fertility treatment. One thing that stuck out in my mind from my initial consultation in the summer of 2021 with Dr. Olcha was when I told him I was 37, he replied that I was young. Society definitely tells women that over 35 you are too old to conceive and I certainly had fears of that. Outside of that, at each appointment I felt Dr. Olcha and/or his team were straight forward with letting me know what they were doing and why. I personally appreciated their straight forward manner but it wasn't abrasive or defeating, it was just honesty with some confidence and optimism about my goals mixed in.

After performing initial fertility assessments for my husband and I, Dr. Olcha determined there were no obvious blocks to us potentially conceiving. At that point he recommended using Letrozole and a shot to induce ovulation. We did this for 3 cycles and got pregnant on the 3rd one. That unfortunately resulted in a missed miscarriage around the 8 week mark. Due to covid hospital restrictions, Dr. Olcha recommended first pursuing medicinal ways to expel the pregnancy which ultimately worked. After a month pause, we resumed the medication but this time using Clomida and the shot. After the third cycle did not yield results, Dr. Olcha met with me to decide if we'd like to stay the course or try IUI, which we ultimately decided on the IUI which was done in May and resulted in a successful pregnancy.

Thankfully, most of costs were covered by insurance. We only paid a co pay for each appointment and the monthly injection.

Dr. Olcha is very respectful. He is knowledgeable about fertility and explain things in the simplest way for anyone to understand. He has good bedside manner and he's always patient with his patients. Fertility is a very sensitive topic and he takes the time to answer all your questions and ensure that you comprehend. He and the staff at the Edison office is always welcoming during those early morning appointments when you have to go 3 or more times per week and not knowing what to expect, but you leave with some good information.

13 eggs were retrieved and 7 of them made it to embryos [when cycling with Dr. Olcha]. I froze my embryos immediately and did genetic testing on my best 3. Once those results came out Dr. Olcha asked if I wanted to chose which embryo he implanted but I asked him to just use the best one. The embryo transfer was a breeze and two weeks later I went back in for a pregnancy blood test and Dr. Olcha called me that afternoon to let me know that I was pregnant!! Every week following for 3 weeks I went in for a sonogram then I moved to an OB. I am now 4 months pregnant with a healthy baby girl!! My remaining frozen embryos remain at a storage facility with New Hope.
Monitoring [at New Hope Fertility Center] was very easy and most of the time very quick. I would try and get there early, you check in and then wait for your name to be called on the screen- you’re in and out in under an hour...Costs were what I expected however it’s a pay as you go so the cost doesn’t hit you in one lump sum which would be a bit tricky for most. The most important thing I can say is that I knew exactly what costs would be before I did anything so nothing came as a surprise to me which was so helpful.
How was your experience with Meir Olcha at New Hope Fertility Center?
I’m a 34 yr old woman who was having a hard time getting pregnant. The first doctor I went to always made me feel like getting pregnant was this huge hurtle that I might get over.. but might not. After the first consultation I had with Dr. Olcha I left, got in my car, and cried because I felt like I FINALLY had a doctor who gave me the compassion I needed and slowly went over all my options and then he advised what he recommended. I did 4 IUI’s and then ultimately decided with Dr. Olcha IVF was the best next step. Every procedure I did I knew exactly what to expect and felt comfortable throughout the whole process. I am now 4 months pregnant and so happy!! I just wish Dr. Olcha could stay my OB!! It was sad to leave his care and I would recommend him (and already have) to anyone who is looking for fertility assistance.

I did 5 IUI rounds but only 4 IUI transfers (Dr. Olcha cancelled one round because I over stimulated on clomid). I didn’t get pregnant with any IUI rounds. Then we moved to IVF. I was on oral and injectable medication for 2 weeks and then we did my egg retrieval. 13 eggs were retrieved and 7 of them made it to embryos. I froze my embryos immediately and did genetic testing on my best 3. The clinic is very nice! The first time you go you head to the 3rd floor and it looks like a spa! Then you head up to the 4th floor (where you’ll be from here on out) as it’s where you’ll do all your blood work and procedures. There’s always hot coffee and some sort of cookie/biscuits out, calm music playing, and a beautiful view of Columbus Circle and Central Park. Not to mention it’s extremely clean!

Costs were what I expected however it’s a pay as you go so the cost doesn’t hit you in one lump sum which would be a bit tricky for most. The most important thing I can say is that I knew exactly what costs would be before I did anything so nothing came as a surprise to me which was so helpful.
Describe Meir Olcha's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at New Hope Fertility Center.
I wasn’t sure if I should do multiple or single embryo transfer... Dr. Olcha advised that because of my age and the fact I wasn’t looking to have twins that I should only do one. I am very happy I went with his advise!
