I found Dr.Montes after leaving a different IVF clinic. I have seen the way other clinics work and can say with confidence that Dr.Montes is amazing. I first came to her in 2019. She preformed surgery to remove endometriosis and fibroids. She did my egg retrieval and handled most of my questions. Unfortunately my first transfer was canceled a few days before the scheduled date due to the world shutting down from Covid. But Dr.Montes called me herself a few times to check on me to see how I was and got us back in for our transfer as soon as it was possible. My first transfer was July 2020 which resulted in the birth of my daughter. We came back to see Dr.Montes in August of 2022 when we were ready to expand our family. She did a Mock trial, and a frozen transfer the next month. I am now 26 weeks along with baby number 2. I will say that my treatment plan was aggressive. But I would do it all over again. Dr. Montes is an amazing Dr. I highly recommend her.

Only advice I have is to ask any and all questions you can think of. She will explain everything and never makes you feel rushed.

I don't remember my 1st protocol. My most recent one included progesterone, viagra, estrodile tablets, tacrolimus, metformin, prendisone, intralipid Infusions, enoxaparon 40mg. I was on all this for the first 12 weeks. I will say the one major difference between this time and my first time was the prendisone. It caused me to develop insomnia and then anxiety. I don't know if it was the medications or the early pregnancy that made me so nauseous but this second pregnancy I felt very sick and had low energy the entire first trimester. By the 14-16 week it began to disappear and have felt great ever since. Only thing I am still on now at 26 weeks is the prenatal and the enoxaparon injections which I will remain on until 6 weeks postpartum.

My husband and I started our fertility journey with Dr. Montes in January 2022. Prior to that, we have been trying to get pregnant for over a year and a half and decided to seek professional advise. Our first appointment with her was wonderful and beyond our expectations as we finally felt hopeful. She provided a plan right away of what testing needed to be done in order to have a better chance of identifying the issue and shared her positive outlook on our dream of having a baby. Within a few weeks, after a thorough evaluation period, Dr Montes was able to identify the most likely root cause of my infertility. She suggested having laparoscopic surgery to know for certain and Dr. Montes was correct in identifying the issue to be Endometriosis. She was able to treat it right away during the laparoscopic surgery. After three to four weeks of having the laparoscopic surgery with Dr. Montes, I was able to conceive! I had a wonderful pregnancy and in less than a year of our first fertility appointment, I delivered a healthy and beautiful daughter. Our family is forever grateful to Dr. Montes for making our fertility journey smooth and delivering positive outcomes. She is an incredible surgeon and her expertise delivered results for us.

Dr. Montes is a very dedicated with her patients very kind and have the patient to explain you everything and she is very professional .My experience with her is always good I will recommend her to anyone . I have not done my procedure of IVF because I can not afford the total amount but I had surgery with her and other treatments so When I could afford the treatment I will be ready .

The advice that I will give to a prospective patient is to write all your questions that you have to ask her and she will be very gladly to answer you .

I was given a treatment for my hormones because I was having menstration disorder and she made sure that the treatment I was doing it right she even call me to make sure I was doing it right .

I have a co payment of $50 dollars all the time I have to see her and others payments for blood test and sonogram. To do the IVF and other procedure I have to pay $10,000 out of pocket but I can not afford that

We felt like she only cared about certain people. Like there was no hope for us so she didn't invest in us. We only had the means for us to do one fresh cycle and one FET. She was pushing us to carry out PGS but we didn't have the money and at that point we felt like she stopped being interested.

You need to have a lot of time on your hands because you need to wait hours and go in to the hospital at least 3 times a week. Also, be more assertive as we let Dr Montes guide us and we should have made our own decisions.

I don't remember much but there were very high doses of clomid, menipur (6 vials a day), cetrotide as well. Then clexane, steroids, antibiotics. It was a lot.

It was all about waiting for hours. It took up so much time and they asked you to come in three times a week. It is very difficult to have a working life and add that to the schedule.

It was 20000 per ICSI cycle

I agree with single embryo transfers as I understand the risks of multiple births.

She listened and was reassuring yet honest in terms of my conditions of fibroids. She shared that her job was to get me pregnant and there were options if I was willing. They would conduct IVF on me despite my advanced age. This was reassuring to me. I was terrified that my dream of becoming a mother would not come to pass. There are no guarantees yet I am holding onto to hope and faith that I can get pregnant and carry my baby.

Be open.

Natural supplements such as a Prenatal Vitamin, CoQ10, Mitchrondial Optimizer. I also added DHEA. I was given Clomid and did well.

I have been fortunate to say what the clinic has taken Blue Cross/Blue Shield - I've only had to pay co-pays ($30 per visit/bloodwork). For IVF is over 45 years of age, they take GHI/Emblem Health.

Dr. Montes is simply an AMAZING human being!!! I could not have chosen a better doctor to help me during such a difficult time of my life. I absolutely love how friendly, approachable, knowledgeable, and kind she is. If I had to do this all over again, I would not hesitate to go see her.

Monitoring appointments were very frequent for me, but the staff made the experience pleasurable. I always felt welcomed by the friendly faces who greeted me at the front desk, nurse's station, nurse's assistants and doctors. Even the doorman of the building was extremely polite!

Dr Montes is a wonderful doctor. She is very smart and will explain everything to you in detail. She was warm and kind and really took her time to answer my questions. As she examined me she explained every step and stopped to answer my questions and then continued. I feel very safe with her and know I am getting the best care. So happy to be her patient.

Trust in her. Ask questions. I always tell people to be there own advocate no matter who the doctor is.

I am just starting. I will be meeting with her in the next 2 weeks to plan out exactly the step we will take to reach my goal. I am realistic and hopeful.

Melissa Montes was extremely professional and personable. I felt comfortable asking questions and expressing concerns to her, and she always validated my feelings. She was very easy to get along with and I appreciate everything she has done for us. Would highly recommend!

My only surprise was not knowing that egg retrieval cycles could be cancelled, so I would make sure to ask about that before starting a cycle!

Melissa Montes canceled my first egg retrieval cycle because my follicles were responding well to the medications (Gonal and Cetrotide). Knowing that my insurance does not cover the procedure, she canceled the cycle and asked me if I was ok trying again the next month. It was a great decision because we had an extremely successful cycle the next month (she added a mix of Gonal and Menopur) and I only had to do one egg retrieval.

I was extremely fortunate and thankful that monitoring hours were early, so I did not have to take time off of work. I was typically seen with plenty of time to be on time to work if I arrived early enough.

Egg retrieval was 16K which included one embryo transfer. I paid close to 4K for a required dilation and curettage procedure. I paid $1200 for embryo cryopreservation. I paid a $55 co-pay each visit through insurance. Insurance covered some of my medication costs, but I probably paid overall a couple of thousand dollars for medications. I also paid around 5K for the genetic testing of embryos. I might be leaving something out!

We love Dr. Montes. She is very knowledgeable, and has performed most of our procedures. She performed my partner’s myomectomy and egg retrieval, and then the embryo transfer to me. All of these procedures went smoothly and were successful.These resulted in our first born. She has also helped us through IUIs and IVF for our second and current pregnancy. We trust her skills and knowledge, and she treats us like family.

She is always busy, doing appointments and surgeries, so it is helpful to write down your questions before each visit. Don’t be afraid to question and push back if you are unsure about a procedure.

We did IUIs, and did many blood tests before then, including genetic testing. When the last IUI resulted in a miscarriage, she suggested testing the tissue to find out if it was due to a genetic anomaly (it was). When we decided to switch to IVF, she suggested a hysteroscopy, which did not reveal any issues. She also suggested a laparoscopy and a mock IVF trial, which we declined. She also ordered a blood test to for metabolic and clotting disorders. Thanks to this, they found I have a clotting disorder and needed to take extra medications. For the IVF and transfer, we used Menopur, Gonal, Cetrotide, progesterone suppositories, progesterone oil injections, Lovenox, antibiotics, and Estradiol (we are probably forgetting some). For my metabolic and clotting disorder I also took additional medication.

Dr. Montes always made us feel welcome. More than just being respectful, she has always been warm, affirming, and caring.

Dr. Montes strongly believed in a single transfer, and so did my spouse.

This review is long overdue. I can’t begin to express my gratitude to Dr. Montes and the entire team at Kofinas for giving me the ability to get pregnant with my baby boy. I was devastated when I wasn’t getting pregnant on my own and Dr. Montes ordered an extremely thorough lab workup on me to determine exactly what my fertility issue was. She remained calm and encouraging throughout my treatment. When I had a bad reaction to one of the medications, we were able to pivot seamlessly to another method of administering the medication. Going through fertility treatments (early wake-up’s, almost daily check in appointments, repeated blood testing, surgeries, injections, etc.) is mentally and physically draining - but the team at Kofinas know how to get you pregnant, and they operate with kindness and compassion that I will never take for granted. I know when I’m ready to have my second child, I will be so thrilled to have Dr. Montes and the incredible doctors and nurses at Kofinas managing my care.

There are often long wait times in the morning but this is not Dr. Montes' fault.

I had 2x retrievals. The first only resulted in 1x genetically normal embryo and I was devastated. The second round was far more successful and significantly easier to get through. I had an unusual and horrible reaction to the progesterone in oil injections (high fever, extreme pain) after the transfer and Dr. Montes changed the protocol for the progesterone.

Monitoring appointments are during a specific set number of hours in the morning. The wait times can be a hour+ on certain days. You rotate drs so you see everyone at the practice.
