I felt she [Dr. Monica Best] was very condescending as if this was my first time and I had no idea what I wanted. She didn’t listen to me or my concerns. She refused to acknowledge anything other than her own knowledge. It was her way or no way. I felt she vetoed anything I had to say...During the consult she talked for the entire hour. I got maybe 5 minutes at the end to ask questions. It felt like o was in a lecture instead of a Dr appt
I feel the [RBA] clinic had grown a lot since I first started in 2014. It was more personable then. Now, it’s run like a business with too many patients, doctors trying to push birth control so they can do mass cycles. I used to be able to reach the office by phone. That’s next to impossible. I spent over two hours one day trying to get a person on the phone because the back and forth in the portal wasn’t going anywhere.

A consult is a great way to know if you’ll be a good fit for each other. Definitely have a list of questions and do y be afraid to interrupt her to get your questions out there otherwise you’ll never get them answered.

The staff was AMAZING! I absolutely loved them. My SHG and HSG was relatively painful. They took great care to put me at ease and make me as comfortable as possible.

My husband needed bloodwork and a nurse told him he didn’t even though he kept saying he did. He finally left. About 45 min later he gets a call to come back for bloodwork. We had them send a req to take to Quest. My new clinic requested my records that they never received. I had to request them and then my husband’s semen analysis wasn’t included so I had to request that. I was told to call the office when my cycle started but was later told I shouldn’t called the answering service. I was given birth control to take even though I have a clotting issue (which the staff knew).

Dr. Best has been very kind and compassionate towards us. She has wanted to see us succeed. With both miscarriages, she was very empathetic. She also wants to make sure we are doing everything we can to bring us home a baby. Sometimes I can get frustrated with the virtual visits, because she tends to run late.

The billing department can be slow and responding and also hard to get in contact with...Dr. Best has always been warm and kind to us. With everything we have been through, she has been understanding and emphatic.

Describe the protocols Monica Best used in your cycles at Reproductive Biology Associates - Canton (Prelude Network Clinic) and their degree of success.
I have textbook PCOS, so I was on a pretty basic protocol. For the most part, it all “worked”. For my IUIs, I was in oral letrazole and used an HCG trigger shot. I did end up ovulating both times, so it technically worked even if it did not result in a positive pregnancy test. For egg retrieval I was on HCG, follistim, and ganirelex. These worked great for me and got us 34 eggs! Amazingly, I did not get OHSS. For my first transfer, I was on oral estrogen, baby aspirin, progesterone suppositories 2x daily and PIO (5 days before transfer). I did get a positive result, but my progesterone was low, and my beta did not rise appropriately. We upped the suppositories to 3x daily. Unfortunately, this resulted in an early loss just shy of 5 weeks. With my second transfer I was put on the same protocol, but added in lovenox. This resulted in a positive test as well and my beta numbers rose appropriately this round. However, baby was not growing as they should and we lost them at 9 weeks. The last miscarriage was recent and we have not yet discussed any protocol changes for the 3rd transfer. She does want to do some additional testing and an surgery before this next transfer.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Biology Associates - Canton (Prelude Network Clinic).
Started out with a nurse named Lacie, and she was the best. Very sweet and compassionate about our journey. She remembered details about me and my cycle/where we were at in our treatment. Unfortunately she left. Then I mostly spoke to a nurse named Christy. She was very good at her job, organized, and knew what she was doing/talking about. She was not as sweet and compassionate as Lacie, but still a good nurse. Most recently, I have been talking to a nurse named Samantha. I have not had much interaction with her, but she seems to be sweet as well.

Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Reproductive Biology Associates - Canton (Prelude Network Clinic).
It was well ran. Did not feel like it was a “cattle call” they are very busy, but not overbooked. The only overbooking they tend to do is bloodwork appointments. I was always able to schedule it at a good time for me, it did not ruin my schedule.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Monica Best at Reproductive Biology Associates - Canton (Prelude Network Clinic).
In the year 2021, we paid $23k in total to RBA. This was for egg retrieval, and 1 FET. Plus copays.
Describe Monica Best's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Biology Associates - Canton (Prelude Network Clinic).

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Reproductive Biology Associates - Canton (Prelude Network Clinic).
Once they forgot to tell me my next steps and to set up an appointment with me. When I knew I needed an appointment, I informed them and they were shocked that I didn’t have it set up already. They then did apologize and set up my appointment, but it was a month later than I felt like it could have been. Another time, my dr was 30 minutes late to a phone call appointment. I had to send the clinic a portal message and less than 5 minutes after I sent it, my dr called.

Dr. Best was always excited about the next steps in my treatment even when it wasn't what we expected...She reviewed my chart carefully as well as listened to my experiences from my previous clinic and miscarriages. She used that information to make sure my next transfer would be successful...Dr. Best's approach was eSet, however, with my age and previous miscarriages I requested two embryo transfers. She agreed.
Multiple locations [RBA] and early morning appointments were great. The staff was friendly. All the various techs from blood taking to ultrasounds to the front desk were great. The primary location was busy but they keep things moving at a good pace...A few times I had to call billings to make sure my claim was submitted but they were very responsive...[nurses were] Very responsive and answered any questions I had or took my questions back to Dr. Best. They would call or email with the answer....

I had three surgeries to remove adhesions, however, it was worth it. Dr. Best suggested a natural cycle as I would get pregnant on my own but would miscarry. The protocol was baby aspirin, Lovenox, estrogen, and PIO (both injections and pills).

I have mild endometriosis that had been removed via laparoscopy a month prior to meeting Dr. Best. Dr. Best dicovered Diminished Ovarian Reserve when I was 28 years old. My husband had two varicoceles that were later repaired. IVF was recommended given our situation and the fact that we knew we would like to have more than on child. Financially we were prelared to try IUI twice and then move on to IVF. 2014: IUI #1: Femara 2.5mg, Ovidrel, IUI, Endometrin- Not successful IUI #2: Femara 5mg, Bravelle, IUI, Endometrin- Successful singleton birth 2019: IUI #3 Femara 5mg (no response), Femara 7.5mg, Gonal-F, Estrace (thinned lining), Ovidrel, IUI, Prometrium- currently waiting for results.
The Shady Grove offices are beautiful. I opted to be monitored at a couple of separate offices to better fit my personal needs. I loved that physicians are providing monitoring ultrasounds so that questions can be asked during the appointment while also making sure that only your primary physician makes any changes to your treatment protocol. I could count on Chrissi to relay all the needed information from Dr. Best as soon as my labs came back after each appointment. All other support staff was so nice, and so helpful from my first phone call to Shady Grove. The whole process has felt efficient without feeling like there has been any cutting of corners with regard to my medical care. I can’t say enough good things about my experience.
How was your experience with Monica Best at Shady Grove Fertility Georgia?
Just from meeting Dr. Best, you can tell not only that her bedside manner is wonderful, but also that she is extremely knowledgeable in her field. We were successful in our second round of IUI, and 4 years later we just had another IUI in hopes of conceiving a second child. We appreciated that even though IVF was the recommended medical treatment for our particular situation, Dr. Best respected and supported our wishes to stick with a treatment plan we felt more financially comfortable with.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Monica Best at Shady Grove Fertility Georgia?
Don’t be afraid to share your questions or concerns. She will take the time to explain things thoroughly to you to make sure you feel knowledgeable and comfortable with your treatment plan.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Monica Best at Shady Grove Fertility Georgia?
Having gone through IVF herself, Dr. Best understands physically and emotionally what we are going through. She takes the time to answer questions, calm concerns, and just shows general care for our well-being. I love that she gives honest and direct medical advice, yet remains really positive and supportive of your wishes.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Dr. Best was the perfect blend of informative and nurturing. She never made us feel rushed and always gave explanations for every decision. She more than just a doctor, she was a big part of our support system...made me feel like a had a say in my treatment plan. She counseled me on options but was candid about what she thought the best choice was in her medical opinion. She also kept me up to date with next steps.
I did not have a ton of experience with the clinic [Shady Grove Atlanta] itself as most of my correspondence was via phone. They seem fine overall and I did not have any strong positive or negative experiences. The reception staff was courteous...Chrissi [nurse] was prompt in responding to voicemails and extremely knowledgeable about my protocol. To prepare me for my upcoming first IVF, she gave me a detailed description of what to expect each day. She never rushed me and always answered all of my questions.

I had already done countless rounds of Letrozole, but Dr. Best added monitoring and a trigger shot to better pinpoint ovulation. When one cycle of that didn't work, she added an injection of Gonal-f as well, which is the cycle I got pregnant. She did not want to do a full injections cycle due to my PCOS, and since I got pregnant she was clearly right!

I had no insurance coverage for infertility, so Dr. Best and her team did what they could to minimize costs. I paid out of pocket for everything, including diagnostic tests and medications. Shady Grove did transfer discounts to their preferred pharmacy, which was a huge help. Dr. Best was also selective about which diagnostic tests she repeated to reduce costs.
Describe Monica Best's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Shady Grove Fertility Georgia.
We were planning to move on to IVF the next cycle if we did not have success. She let me know that because I was planning on doing pgs testing on the embryos it was in my best interest to only transfer one.

My husband and I opted for assisted reproduction after an unexplained miscarriage and inability to get pregnant again. Dr. Best listened to our story with compassion and took copious notes on our issues. She ordered every test in her "arsenal" to try and help us figure out what was going on. She explained the results of the tests and then explained our options (IVF v IUI, etc). I can honestly say that I enjoyed every appointment with her and actually looked forward to seeing her
There are honestly no weaknesses with Dr. Best or the [RBA] Marietta office. Everyone there is spectacular. The main office in Sandy Springs is busy so you feel a bit more like a number, but everyone there was kind and easy to work with. Probably my only big complaint is the cost, but I think that is pretty standard when it comes to IVF.... Julie was my friend, psychologist, nurse and cheerleader through the process. I had zero understanding of this process and had never even given anyone an injection.

She explained the results of the tests and then explained our options (IVF v IUI, etc). I can honestly say that I enjoyed every appointment with her and actually looked forward to seeing her (something I can't say about most doctor visits). She kept my hopes up and was there for me during the difficult moments as well. She is a model doctor.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Monica Best at Reproductive Biology Associates - Canton (Prelude Network Clinic)?
To be completely open and honest with Dr. Best about your fears and expectations and concerns. I had concerns about having a trisomy baby due to my age and Dr. Best reviewed with me how we could handle such a situation if it arose. She also had referrals to other doctors I could speak with (MFM's). If money is an issue, let her know and she will try to work out a treatment plan within your budget.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Monica Best at Reproductive Biology Associates - Canton (Prelude Network Clinic)?
Dr. Best is one of the best doctors I've ever worked with. From the first moment we met with her, she was warm, she listened, addressed our issues and explained our options in a very clear and concise manner. She has called me on weekends and I even have her cell number (though I try not to use it!)
Describe the protocols Monica Best used in your cycles at Reproductive Biology Associates - Canton (Prelude Network Clinic) and their degree of success.
I can't remember the exact protocol used, but the first egg retrieval produced a disappointing three eggs so we banked those and did another retrieval that resulted in 12 more eggs! Using ICSI, we then created 12 embryos which we froze until I was ready for a transfer.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Biology Associates - Canton (Prelude Network Clinic). (Assigned nurse: Julie)
Julie was my friend, psychologist, nurse and cheerleader through the process. I had zero understanding of this process and had never even given anyone an injection. She taught me how to inject the meds and how to make it less painful. She gave me samples when I was running out of meds and she was just awesome to work with.

We spent about $40,000 for two egg retrievals, three embryo transfers and this includes medicine.
Describe Monica Best's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Biology Associates - Canton (Prelude Network Clinic).
This was something I agonized over quite a bit. Dr. Best was good at showing me the ASRM standard for number of embryos transferred due to age, but she listened to my concern about multiples and helped me reach an informed decision each time on how many embryos to transfer.

I saw Monica Best beginning of January 2018 after switching clinics. We had a wonderful first consultation where we went over everything that took place during my previous cycles as well as what she would suggest we do moving forward. ... Dr. Best handled this horrible situation with care and compassion but always made sure to tell me the risks involved and 6 month monitoring during this process.
RBA is at the cutting edge of research in the field....but there is still no consistent use of any type of electronic medical record systems. Everything is sent through secure email or by phone. If you travel between offices your physical records are transferred by carrier - keep this in mind if you get bloodwork at a different location than your care team is located - it can cause a delay.
How was your experience with Monica Best at Reproductive Biology Associates - Atlanta (Prelude Network Clinic)?
I saw Monica Best beginning of January 2018 after switching clinics. We had a wonderful first consultation where we went over everything that took place during my previous cycles as well as what she would suggest we do moving forward. Before being able to start treatment I ended up pregnant with what ended up being a molar pregnancy. Dr. Best handled this horrible situation with care and compassion but always made sure to tell me the risks involved and 6 month monitoring during this process. After my HCG hit negative we were able to begin preliminary testing for an egg retrieval cycle with protocol suggested. This was as far we got before she left the practice.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Monica Best at Reproductive Biology Associates - Atlanta (Prelude Network Clinic)?
She is no longer practicing at this clinic but if you find her at another clinic she is amazing! The best choice of doctor in the Atlanta area.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Monica Best at Reproductive Biology Associates - Atlanta (Prelude Network Clinic)?
Dr. Best always had the perfect balance of compassion and scientific facts to back up her reasoning.
Describe the protocols Monica Best used in your cycles at Reproductive Biology Associates - Atlanta (Prelude Network Clinic) and their degree of success.
For treatment of Molar pregnancy I had a next day D&C followed by weekly blood draws until my HCG hit negative followed by monthly negatives for six months to ensure HCG did not rise again. We also performed an SHG and routine genetic testing as well as infectious disease screening before starting an IVF cycle.

Dr. Best has been through IVF herself and took the time to share with me how she understands going through infertility. She made me feel comfortable through the whole process. She’s actually the only doctor that found the issue with my husband and I because she took her time and didnt rush through the testing!... I did two IUI prior to Dr. Best so when we went to her I wanted to try timed intercourse to see if my eggs would even respond and they finally did. We did clomid 100 and a trigger shot and both cycles I had 4 and 6 follicles!!
Strengths: great success rates, many offices [RBA Marietta] so it’s convenient, very knowledgeable drs and nurses Weakness sometimes it can take a little while to get an appt bc they are busy. The sperm freezes have to be done at one location in Atlanta and the latest you can do it is 9 am so that is inconvenient if you live for away like we do.... All nurses are very caring and helpful! They always email me back if I have questions within a few hours!

I’ve never felt more comfortable with a dr. She told me at my first visit with her to put all the stress on her and for me to relax and I’ve honestly done that for once. I trust Dr. Best because she knows what it’s like to have infertility problems and I know she’s going to help us start a family! She’s very patient and answers all questions and I always leave understanding what our next step is.

Dr. Best was always very thorough and friendly. She had excellent bedside manner and seemed to want the best. My only negative was sometimes the plan was not communicated effectively and I was unsure exactly what was happening with my eggs after retrieval. There was a necessary change in our plan, but I wasnt informed of the plan until I was in pre-op for egg removal which made it very stressful.
The clinic [RBA] is very organized and competent. The business office can be hard to communicate with due to call volume and they can be unfriendly. Nurses and front office staff are always pleasant and caring....The nursing stahh was nice and caring. They explained things well and were quick to update with lab results and plan changes....The ivf was around 5000, medications about 6000, and sperm donation was about 1000.

We did egg retrieval with a frozen day 5 transfer. 10 eggs were fertilized, 5 frozen at day 1 and 5 grown to day 5. Only one embryo survived. I was unable to do a fresh transfer due to hyperstimulation. The embryo transfer resulted in a live birth.

They was a change in plan due to hyperstimulation. I was unaware i would be doing a frozen tranfer or that my eggs would be frozen until i was in pre-op for egg removal. I had been told a fresh tranfer up until that point which made me confused and nervous since i didnt know the plan.

Dr.Best has been a God sent! This is not easy to go through at all! This is such an emotional journey for my husband and I. She has a heart of gold and is always there to answer any questions we have. I feel like she's my cheerleader that's right by my side...I went for ultrasounds and labs. I took Letrozole. I injected hormones for a few days. Once my follicles were of normal size I had the IUI done.
The staff [at RBA] is always so helpful and takes their time with you. I didn't feel rushed at all.At every appointment they give me their time and answer all my questions.I never feel rushed! I feel like they really care...The whole staff is amazing. From the beginning, you're filling out paperwork through their website. That helps by the time you see the doctor on saving time. You meet one on one with the doctor and go over EVERYTHING. You leave having a game plan on what you're about to do. The staff is very caring and positive. You leave having hope on what's about to happen.

Dr. Best has also had to undergo IVF to have a child, so she shares her own story with her patients and makes them know that she understands their same fears and worries...Dr. Best makes sure she takes time with each patient. She even has a sketch pad that she illustrates exactly what the fertility issues are. It was nice for my husband and I to see from her perspective why we were experiencing infertility and would need IVF.
[RBA's] Strengths: Clean State of the Art Technology and Equipment Kind nurses, technicians, and doctors Weaknesses: Takes a long time to get scheduled Front office staff at Kennestone location is a little unprofessional. Twice when were there for appointments, my husband and I both heard the receptionist talk about another patient with a nurse and complain that she was needy and annoying. It was really embarrassing to think that they might do that to us when we leave after an appointment. I never heard that at the Piedmont location though.

I would have to say that it is difficult to get an initial appointment. We had to wait 3 months for the schedule to open up; however, we are so glad we were patient and waited. She was exactly what we needed in a doctor for our infertility journey.

Describe the protocols Monica Best used in your cycles at Reproductive Biology Associates - Atlanta (Prelude Network Clinic) and their degree of success.
Dr. Best first listened to everything we had already tried with other doctors. She explained that she wanted to complete some diagnostics of her own to see what was going on. She asked that we both get physicals, and she performed an HSG and an SHG on me. She was able to see that not only do I have uterine fibroids, but I also have hydrosalpinx on my fallopian tubes. She then explained that the fallopian tubes should be removed. We shared our concern to ever conceive on our own, and she listened to us. She shared her medical opinion, and ultimately let us decide our course of treatment. For now, we are going to have the right tube removed and attempt to conceive on our left side with some more fertility drugs, while we attempt to save up for IVF. She was very real about percentages and results experienced in the office with this treatment plan.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Biology Associates - Atlanta (Prelude Network Clinic). (Assigned nurse: Julie Morin)
My nurse, Julie Morin, always communicated back to my husband and me within the business day, either by phone or email encrypted system. She always listened to our concerns, and even went to bat for us at the hospital when they were refusing to complete a test on me, because I was experiencing spotting. She explained that it was fine, and they needed to do the testing. If we hadn't had the test done, we would have had to wait one more cycle to have testing done. We appreciated her being an advocate for us.

I was not covered for any treatment under my insurance. I paid: $250 at inital appointment $98 for second appointment $196 for SHG $1,000 for HSG $121 for consultation meeting Quoted: $14,500 for 1 cycle of IVF and $5,000 for medications.
Describe Monica Best's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Biology Associates - Atlanta (Prelude Network Clinic).

After I had my HSG, I was told I would have a nurse call me with the results. After two weeks, I finally called to find out, and they had forgotten to call me. It might not seem like a big deal to them, but to the patient that is trying to get answers, it was very frustrating.

Dr. Best’s bedside manner is INCREDIBLE. At times, infertility is a subject that can be difficult to understand. Dr. Best explained it in the simplilest terms, always made me aware of the next course of treatment/testing, and has done it with a posititivity & patience that I’ve never experienced with any other DOCTOR...Dr. Best had to remove my Fallopian tubes. It was one of the most difficult periods in my life. She was very kind and compassionate about the situation. I had to trust that she knew best. Fast forward to one beautiful toddler and current pregnancy with TWINS! I guess she knew what she was doing! We are forever grateful for her. Not only would we recommend her to others, WE HAVE. We are donating our remaining embryos, and Dr Best will be the doctor.
Dr. Best’s medical team [at RBA Sandy Springs] are awesome! Amanda and Julie were extremely knowledgeable, and always assured me that everything was ok when I felt like I was missing an appointment or a dosage or treatment...50% discount for vets...Their strength is that they are available to their patients, no matter the time. I normally got sad because I knew after I graduated, I wouldn’t receive the same quality of care as RBA. A weakness would be their sudden turnover, and what I feel is a lack of knowledge from the newest employees. I know that the veteran employees have been there long enough to have processes down to a science, but I feel there is a need for a more thorough on board process.

Dr. Best is a warm and welcoming doctor. She is very insightful and wants to go over her action plan in detail. Once she has her plan she is on a mission. My low ovarian reserve count and my husband's klinefelter syndrome didn't stop her as it would most doctors I believe...Dr. Best took the time to attack the plan at need. However, my husband and I both felt that a lot of information was given at once with little take home information.
Our clinic was Reproductive Biology Associates. My husband's doctor was Dr. Michael Witt while I saw Dr. Monica Best. The two offices appeared to function as satellite offices. The only weakness I saw regarding the clinic was the communication between offices could have been better in regards to doctor's notes, medical files and procedure plans...The nursing staff for Dr. Best were able to assist when needed. The satellite offices appeared to not communicate as well with one another.

The things that we talked about and the ways Dr. Best educated me are things that I still remember, fondly. I was hellbent on freezing my husband's sperm, he has a chronic disease that is half of why we needed IVF, and she was very nicely explaining that, yes, that's fine, but we really want embryos. Embryos equal babies. She was very knowledgeable and well read on current literature/studies/research, which is very important to me.
When we got pricing sheet for RBA, everything was listed "a la carte". It was nearly impossible to follow, a lot of it because we were still (blissfully) unaware of all the medical terms and meanings and also because it was so extensive. Because our insurance offered ZERO coverage for anything done, we got bills immediately, had to pay a lot of money up front for things, and just were not prepared. My husband was the cooler head, for sure. I was very much, "just take my money and make me a baby, I will pay anything". It was insane how much money we paid, and we hadn't even gotten to the actual baby making part yet! This is the biggest rea
How was your experience with Monica Best at Reproductive Biology Associates - Atlanta (Prelude Network Clinic)?
Dr. Best was the first doctor I saw regarding infertility. I went to my initial consult alone. I felt like a deer in an open field on the first day of hunting season at that appointment. I also felt very dumb. Something is wrong, but I have no idea what and I am sitting on the other side of a desk with a woman in a white coat, who is looking at me with the most gentle eyes and kind smile, and I just want to crawl in a hole and hide. During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Monica Best at Reproductive Biology Associates - Atlanta (Prelude Network Clinic)?
Dr. Best is a warm and caring woman. She was transparent about her own fertility struggles, which she didn't need to be. This is almost reason enough to see her for treatment, she understands this both medically AND personally. How many doctors can say that?
Describe the protocols Monica Best used in your cycles at Reproductive Biology Associates - Atlanta (Prelude Network Clinic) and their degree of success.
We only met with Dr. Best maybe three times total, and did not pursue treatment with her/RBA. We learned that the work up/diagnostic testing was covered under my husband's insurance at Emory. After further research, we also learned that the cost of a fresh IVF cycle with ICSI was dramatically less expensive at Emory. Dr. Best/RBA wanted my husband to see a urologist for his junky sperm. This would not be covered by insurance. When we discussed this at Emory, they said, (paraphrasing), "who cares, we know it's bad, let's make you a baby."
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Biology Associates - Atlanta (Prelude Network Clinic).
I don't remember anything about the nurse (Jamie? Jessica?) who drew my blood.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Biology Associates - Atlanta (Prelude Network Clinic).
RBA has two offices, I think. I went to the one in Atlanta for the thing where they shoot saline into your uterus, and all my other appts were in the Kennestone Outpatient Pavilion in Marietta. I can't speak to the overall strengths or weaknesses of the clinic, in either location.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Dr. Best is the doctor that gave us our hope back in fertility. She has a clear path toward getting us our children and she is so dedicated to us...She’s an incredible doctor who has gone through IVF herself. She feels her patient’s pain and helps every way possible...I have unexplained infertility. Dr. Best ordered all the screenings and panels to come to a conclusion. We already did a SHG before meeting with her. She wanted a HSG where she found polyps and hysteroscopy to remove them.
The front staff [at RBA] could be a bit more helpful... and organized...R-Baby Guarantee program is $19,000 (included PGT testing and 7 retrievals)...Chrissi [nurse] is the best! She’s a perfect pair with Dr. Best. She understands the pain we’re going through and has always been caring and responsive...Getting everything together for your first consult can feel earth-shattering. There are a lot of terrifying emotions going into it all - but know this: you’re in the best hands

Dr. Best is the doctor that gave us our hope back in fertility. She has a clear path toward getting us our children and she is so dedicated to us. We followed her from her other clinic because we believe in how she believes in us. We didn’t want IVF at first, but she made us both so comfortable. We love her!

I came in as a PCOS patient not knowing if I would ever be able to conceive and came from a clinic where I felt as if I my opinion did not count. Dr. Best was very easy to communicate with and listened from the consult moving forward. During our first cycle she made very clear to us the risks and possibilities that could arise which made us feel both hopeful and allowed us to keep realistic goals in mind.
I mainly went to the Lawrenceville and Sandy Spring locations [of RBA]. I went to the Marietta office once (Dr. Best's main location). My experiences at Sandy Springs have been mostly well save for some issues with the billing here, they informed me I was not covered for something when I clearly was which was a huge frustration. After calling my insurance company they reached out to the billing at the office and cleared this up.

Dr. Best was very easy to communicate with and listened from the consult moving forward. During our first cycle she made very clear to us the risks and possibilities that could arise which made us feel both hopeful and allowed us to keep realistic goals in mind. We did manage to get a BFP on our first letrozole/trigger shot/IUI cycle, unfortunately this ending in early miscarriage. This has no bearing on Dr. Best, it was just nature doing what it had to do. But just knowing we got our BFP first try, let's us know she has us in the right direction. Thank you Dr. Best.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Monica Best at Reproductive Biology Associates - Atlanta (Prelude Network Clinic)?
The wait time for an initial consult may take longer than you like, but with a bit of patience I promise it is worth the wait. She is very patient, kind and sensitive to your situation and you will not regret your decision to be treated by her.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Monica Best at Reproductive Biology Associates - Atlanta (Prelude Network Clinic)?
Dr. Best has the best bedside manner of doctors I have seen on my fertility journey. She is direct and gives you realistic expectations while being able to relay the information in a manner delicate enough for the issue at hand. For this alone I am grateful for.
Describe the protocols Monica Best used in your cycles at Reproductive Biology Associates - Atlanta (Prelude Network Clinic) and their degree of success.
I had originally done an HSG with a previous provider, so Dr. Best wanted to do an SHG just to make sure all was well with my uterus itself and we also cofirmed my AMH levels. After clearing the HSG AND SHG she decided to treat me with a combination of dexamethasone, Letrozole days 5-9, trigger shot and baby aspirin. I came in for 2 ultrasounds about a week after my last letrozole pill to confirm follicle size. We did IUI 36 hrs after trigger shot.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Biology Associates - Atlanta (Prelude Network Clinic).
The nursing staff was very quick to respond to any questions or concerns I had and they were also sensitive to my situation.

My only issue with the one appointment I had at the Marietta office is they were a little late returning from lunch, my appt was right at the time they are to return from lunch and I waited in the hall for about 15mins.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Monica Best at Reproductive Biology Associates - Atlanta (Prelude Network Clinic).
My insurance covered most of my expenses. Without insurance I believe a letrozole/IUI is aprox 1000.00 per cycle.

I saw Monica [Dr. Best] at most of my appointments. However, she did not perform my insemination. Maybe it’s because it was held on a weekend. She was present for all of the informative appointments and I knew exactly what the treatment process would be like and what to expect next. She always makes sure all of my questions are answered and it’s almost like talking to a life-long friend.
They [RBA - Sandy Springs] are very knowledgeable with a friendly staff. They have many patents so sometimes appointments run longer than they should but that’s because they answer everyone’s questions and you never feel rushed or like you’re just a number....Cost for meds were about $100 - $200 and the insemination was $480.... [Dr. Monica Best] made me feel like I was so important to her...I felt informed and cared for during my treatment. I had 3 IUI cycles. 2 resulted in pregnancy with one miscarriage. Dr. Best was informative, while being caring. She is a very warm welcoming individual...Completed IUI with clomid, a shot, and the hormone that was applied at night.

I was not uncomfortable but not As comfortable with her as I was with Dr. Best...Front office was kind several locations available for easier access. Dr. Best stayed positive and frequently encouraged myself and my husband. She was not just thoughtful but very thorough with her treatment plan. She made adjustments when needed. The blend of her knowledge and positvity while managing your expectations made our experience a great one. We had been through previous doctors however she was truly our “ Monday Morning Quarterback “ she took our history and utilized it and adjusted where needed. After 17 years of trying to conceive, Dr. Best transferred our 1 embryo that is now a 10 month old baby girl.

After going through a hysteroscopy and polypectomy [with Dr. Monica Best], I was pregnant on my very next medicated cycle...was very personable, kind, and always did her best to lift our spirits. She remembered us, always remembered what we were dealing with in every situation...she listened to my concerns and was willing to try some things I suggested before we went straight to iui or ivf. She did recommend those as treatment since our infertility was initially “unexplained”. But, we weren’t ready for those more invasive treatments. Dr. Best helped us come up with a plan, and we actually found that one of our biggest problems was that I had polyps in my uterus that weren’t obvious in my previous testing.
