How was your experience with Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Burger is very kind, empathetic and helpful. I think he strengths are that she is very bright and stays updated on current research in the every evolving field of fertility. I think it would be good for RE doctors to ask more of their patients in terms of lifestyle, eating habits, etc. I was never asked much (except if I smoke and how much I drink) and I feel that is a huge factor in getting and staying pregnant. I work in nutrition so I might be more inclined to consider that aspect of fertility, but I feel they should assess that part of your life in regards to your medical history and current status. Even though I have 'unexplained infertility' the course of treatment feels the same for everyone. IUI and if that does work in 3-4 cycles, IVF. She is open to a middle ground of using injectables with IUI, but doesn't necessarily recommend it. Dr. Burger does suggests acupuncture and is a proponent of combing Eastern and Western medicine when appropriate.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
She might not directly offer up information so come with questions if you have any! She's great at answering them, but you do need to ask.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Burger never made me feel rushed or like I didn't matter. She was very helpful in answering my questions and showed empathy when I lost a pregnancy.
Describe the protocols Natalie Burger used in your cycles at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
I started using Femara with timed intercourse for two cycles. I took 2.5 mg for days 3-7. I then moved onto Femara, days 3-7 at 5mg for 2 IUI cycles. None of those produced pregnancy. I got pregnant naturally the first month we were able to try after laparoscopy surgery for endometriosis and a small uterine septum, but miscarried at 7 weeks.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Erica Alexander and Megan Fischer were amazing. )
They were organized and efficient for the most part. They over charged me, but quickly reconciled it. I would highly recommend checking your receipts and asking questions about charges. They are honest, but sometimes people make mistakes. They are seeing a lot of patients and things slip through the cracks. Otherwise, they are quick to return phone calls and emails. They are compassionate and caring when you do communicate with them.
Describe your experience with Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
Sometimes when I see other doctors they can be quick to come in and out. I would definitely try to build a relationship with whatever doctor you choose. They are pretty Western medicine focused, so if you have questions about some other treatment, you might not get answers or encouragement for that. There are sometimes long wait times at the office, so be prepared for that. Overall, they are great and I would recommend them!
Describe the costs associated with your care under Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
For my medicated timed intercourse cycles, my insurance covered the cost of the ultrasounds. Femara cost $5 each time. The ultrasound, insemination and sperm wash was about $650. Luckily I get positive ovulation tests so they do not require a second ultrasound with IUI treatments. My laparoscopy was covered by insurance, but with deductibles and co-pays it was still close to $1500.
Dr. Burger has always made me feel comfortable as a patient. She always greets you with a smile. You never feel rushed she she explains the plan of care throughly and answers all your questions. I trust her knowledge and experience because I know she has practiced for several years in this field and community. Although there were times that I was seen by other partners in the practice due to holidays or weekends, she was receiving the reports and making the final decisions on next steps for treatment, and that made me feel confident that I was being taken care of.
[Texas Fertility Center] have dedicated staff to help with insurance claims, and IVF coordinator, an on call nurse. They have the ability to communicate with you via email if that is your preference. They send you estimates before your appointment with the breakdown so you know exactly what to expect. I think the only weakness is that they could help pay closer attention to anticipated doses, so that if you are going to need more medication than planned you can order that ahead of time, instead of having to scramble last minute and paying 4 x more .

Dr. Burger has great bedside manner, she talks to you with respect and is compassionate. She thoroughly explains plan of care. I never felt rushed.
Describe the protocols Natalie Burger used in your cycles at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
I believe the protocol used was antagonist cetrotide. Medications used were Gonal F and menopur. I initially produced too many follicles and my dosages had to be reduced to slow the growth of the follicles. I was in the higher risk category for OHSS and Dr. Burger was aware and careful when titrating medication doses in order to avoid OHSS.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
At Texas Fertility they use a team nurse approach so I never really got to know any of them very well since it seemed I had a different nurse for each encounter, but I actually think this is a positive because they responded quickly to emails, and phone calls, and seemed to communicate well with each other. I did appreciate that they have a on call nurse whom I did speak to several times, and was available for questions I had after hours.
Describe your experience with Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
Let me tell you this clinic was a breath of fresh air a complete 360 from the previous clinic I had transfered from, in which I was constantly waiting for over an hour and felt like a number. I am so very grateful that I switched clinics, mostly because, my appointments run on time, max 15 min wait, there is usually morning appointments available. They don't over book Dr. Burger. The staff is kind. They have dedicated staff to help with insurance claims, and IVF coordinator, an on call nurse. They have the ability to communicate with you via email if that is your preference. Monitoring appointments were a well oiled machine. I preferred morning appointments and they were always available.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
My insurance covered some of the cost , and I just paid my coinsurance for the sonograms, lab testing, anesthesia, and oocyte retrieval. It was about 11,000 for the IVF freeze with PGS cycle paid to the lab.
Describe Natalie Burger's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
On one occasion I had to call the on call nurse for my pregnancy test results because I had not heard anything from the clinic. However, she apologized for not calling sooner and gave me my results. Anyone who has gone through the 2 week wait knows every minute is agonizing.
The clinic is very busy and it took awhile to get a consult with her [Dr. Natalie Burger]....She spent time taking our medical history and explaining IVF. We didn't feel rushed during our consults and I could always call if I had a follow up questions. Our egg retrieval happened during COVID, but she worked through the crisis and maintained quality care during this procedure...She recognizes that IVF is not covered under our insurance so she always let us make the decision on what to do.
The central location [of Texas Fertility Center] was where we had most of our appointments. Once I started monitoring, it was easier to get sonogram appointments. All the clinic's staff were nice. Protocols changed daily during COVID, but they would let me know...When I would have my monitoring appointments different doctors had different options for the protocol. It made me unsure of who was right...I didn't want to mess anything up so I needed reassurance in what things I could control. They [nurses] all took notes so I didn't have to repeat myself and listened with compassion. The nursing staff was amazing!
How was your experience with Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
The clinic is very busy and it took awhile to get a consult with her. She was recommended by my OBGYN doctor. She spent time taking our medical history and explaining IVF. We didn't feel rushed during our consults and I could always call if I had a follow up questions. Our egg retrieval happened during COVID, but she worked through the crisis and maintained quality care during this procedure. She took the precautions to keep all of us safe during the procedure.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
She seems to care about her patients. Even if the procedure doesn't go well, she talks about additional options to create a family.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
We met Dr. Burger a few times for the consultation and going over our results before starting IVF. She answered all of our questions and reassured about the process. She recognizes that IVF is not covered under our insurance so she always let us make the decision on what to do. We felt encouraged with the clinic's success rates.
Describe the protocols Natalie Burger used in your cycles at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Egg retrieval. Menopur 150, Follistim 300 evening for 5 days. I believe Ganirelex in the morning for 5 days in addition to Menopur 150 and Follistim 300. The last few days Menopur decreased to 75. I think Ovidrel for the trigger shot. My body responded better than predicted for the medication.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Leann, Tamara, Kathy)
I talked with all of them, but they never rushed me when I had a lot of questions or worried about cancellation. Describe your experience with Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
The clinic's south location was far from my work and home. We only had to go there twice. The central location was where we had most of our appointments. Once I started monitoring, it was easier to get sonogram appointments. All the clinic's staff were nice. Protocols changed daily during COVID, but they would let me know.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
Ugh....NOTHING was covered through insurance. We paid for consults, diagnostic blood work, specialized tests, sonograms, medication, surgery center, lab testing, anesthetist's fees and egg retrieval. I also saw an acupuncturist 6 weeks before the procedure. Acupuncture appointments stopped because of COVID so I didn't get it before or after the egg retrieval. We paid around $18,000 but got back $6000 because we had no embryos.
Describe Natalie Burger's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
She highly suggests single embryo transfer because it is safest for mom and baby.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
When I would have my monitoring appointments different doctors had different options for the protocol. It made me unsure of who was right.
She [Dr. Natalie Burger] is not overly effusive or bubbly, but she is on your side, rooting for you every step of the way. I always felt she really cared about my family and was thoughtfully tailoring the treatment to me...said with current research and the optional genetic testing we did, multiple embryo transfer wasn't necessary unless it is the patient's preference...was warm and compassionate but I appreciated that she was also honest and direct.
I felt very positive about the treatment we received [at Texas Fertility Center]. My only negative feedback is that you had to leave a voicemail anytime you wanted to talk to someone and wait for a callback. No one ever answers the phone. You can't leave a voicemail during lunch or when the business is closed either...The exception to that is the amazing on-call nurse, Pam, who we had access to for treatment-related questions. She is fantastic.
How was your experience with Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
We left our previous doctor because, while they had excellent bedside manner, I didn't feel they fully explained risks/potential setbacks, etc. Dr. Burger was the perfect combination of warm and compassionate while also matter of fact and well versed in likely outcomes. She answered every question honestly and thoughtfully and I felt very well prepared for our procedure.

During our visits the nursing staff was very nice and professional. I did not have as much contact with them as Dr. Burger. However, the on-call nurse, Pam, was exceptional.

Describe Natalie Burger's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
Dr. Burger said with current research and the optional genetic testing we did, multiple embryo transfer wasn't necessary unless it is the patient's preference. My friend and I both went through IVF with her one month apart, are similar ages (late 30s), and both got pregnant the first transfer.

I was afraid that Dr. Burger was going to push IVF and that I would feel pressured. It was quite the opposite. She didn't push it at all. She covered all of the options and stats of success. It felt very empowering to make the decision to move forward with IVF on my own rather than feeling that pressure. I feel like I was acting like a whackadoo as probably many of us do when you finally are meeting with a specialist but she she was so patient and understanding and answered all of our questions very thoroughly

It's very small! Which I think is nice. I've been in OBGYN waiting rooms with like 60 people kids running amok and it's sad and overwhelming at times but this is very cozy and intimate. I felt safe. Call and schedule sooner than later because they do book out weeks in advance. I was a little frustrated by this but seeing how much time you get with the doc makes sense.

Our infertility journey has beed two and a half years now. With male infertility and endometriosis. Our first appointment went as well as it can with getting to for sure news that IFV is our only chance at conceiving. We where sent home with many labs to start on our own time. It was not rushed and was very easy to accomplish. We hope to start January 2020.

Describe Natalie Burger's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
I do not have any comments about the approach. I understand the risk of carrying multiples.
Doctor Burguer told me they [Texas Fertility Center] were not focused on being warm, and after a failed cycle I told her the memories I had left were OHSS pain and the bad taste of being treated with no compassion and she didn’t seem to be affected by that ... Once my treatment didn’t work, we had to call to ask for a explanation since we were lost. She set with us for 20 minutes, said she didn’t had a precise explanation of the reason, said we could try again and that I could adopt eggs or embryos and it would be cheaper. Didn’t demonstrate compassion at all.
go somewhere else, they treat you like a number not like a woman. Ask for you receipt for the surgery center otherwise they will charge your insurance for the money even though you payed out of the pocket ... In one of my screenings with doctor Hansen, I left the room and staff were talking bad about me, until one of the nurses realize I was there and said “patient is out”. Never was treated with so much disrespect and coldness

She [Dr. Natalie Burger] has walked us through the different possible treatments we can pursue to become pregnant, encouraged us to start with IUI which is more cost effective, rather than jumping straight into the expensive IVF treatments. Unfortunately, the several times I have taken the medications during my cycle, have resulted in ovulation taking place in the ovarian tube which may have a blockage. We have discussed, and agreed that we would try a few more rounds to see if we can get a cycle on the "good" ovary, and proceed with the IUI, otherwise, we can attempt to unblock the other tube, or move on to IVF. I just feel that she is very compassionate and willing to try all options before jumping into the most expensive route, and we really appreciate that!
Dr. Burger practices at all of the clinics [of Texas Fertility Center], so if there is a certain one that is better for you, I would find out her schedule and try to arrange your visits around that. Otherwise, I have been to the central office (most often), but also South office and they are both very nice, clean, and staff is awesome at both!... For each interuterine ultrasound I have had to do (which is 2 per cycle) have been around $216 each time, so around $430 per cycle. I have been through 3 cycles so far.
Dr. Burger is kind, understanding, more patient than anyone I've ever met and will spend time with you to allow questions, concerns, talking, etc...Our egg retrieval was prolonged and had me very worried. We initially thought we would get a high number of eggs and when we got only 7 I was devastated! Dr. Burger explained everything in detail and even expressed her expectations were different than what we had...I was able to have a successful, healthy pregnancy that resulted in our precious baby girl
As a clinic - I feel that TFC [Texas Fertility Center] has a tendency to overbook their patients. I previously saw a different physician and had a terrible experience. I also used to go to their main office where there is never a time I didn't have to wait at least thirty minutes after I arrived to see my doctor. At the south clinic, it is much better. The staff is friendlier, more understanding. I get into my appointments as I arrive...Dee Dee [a nurse] is awesome...She has a vast knowledge of the care she gives. I appreciate her honesty and her patience for me
How was your experience with Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
There aren't enough words to describe how great Dr. Burger is. She is exactly what we needed going through all of this. Our egg retrieval was prolonged and had me very worried. We initially thought we would get a high number of eggs and when we got only 7 I was devastated! Dr. Burger explained everything in detail and even expressed her expectations were different than what we had. I appreciated that we had a open and easy conversation about it. I was able to have a successful, healthy pregnancy that resulted in our precious baby girl. We even had a second transfer last year that was unsuccessful. Dr. Burger called me and we spoke for an hour on the phone about what happened, what "went wrong", what we could expect for the next transfer of our last embryo, etc. It was comforting to know that I could ask any questions without judgment and expect an honest answer.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Prepare yourself, the more you know about what's going on - the more you can discuss all the options with her. She will discuss anything you bring her way - after countless hours of research, I would bring up a new possible treatment or test and she never batted an eye. She is great to work with and believes in collaborative care.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
I had previously seen a different doctor who treated me like a number. Dr. Burger is kind, understanding, more patient than anyone I've ever met and will spend time with you to allow questions, concerns, talking, etc. She is awesome. She has made me feel comfortable and talks to me like I am an educated person because of my medical background. I appreciate her candidness and ability to "talk me off the ledge".
Describe the protocols Natalie Burger used in your cycles at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
I did three separate IUI's with Femara + Ovidrel trigger that were unsuccessful. I had frequent follow-ups with Dr. Burger throughout that time.
Currently I am doing IVF with Gonal-F, Menopur, Cetrotide & Lupron trigger. She has had me follow-up with ultrasounds & labs every 2 days. Her nurses will call and check on me daily. With my very high egg count and PCOS she has been cautious with my medication as not to produce too many follicles. She has also had me changed from my Ovidrel trigger to the Lupron trigger since I am at a higher risk for OHSS.
I was able to get 3 healthy embryos with our retrieval - although it was longer than expected and wasn't as high of a yield as was expected - I was able to get pregnant and have a healthy baby on our first transfer. We used a femara/induced-ovulation cycle for both transfers which she took time to discuss.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Dee Dee)
Dee Dee is awesome! After a previous experience at this clinic with a different nurse I was very wary. She is compassionate, patient, educated, skilled at her job. She has a vast knowledge of the care she gives. I appreciate her honesty and her patience for me! She answers emails within a day, returns calls promptly and will consult Dr. Burger to calm my nerves when I need it. She has been amazing.
The staff at the office is also very nice! They always try to work with my schedule. They make sure I leave with an understanding of what my next steps are. They are very sweet.
Describe your experience with Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
As a clinic - I feel that TFC has a tendency to overbook their patients. I previously saw a different physician and had a terrible experience. I also used to go to their main office where there is never a time I didn't have to wait at least thirty minutes after I arrived to see my doctor. At the south clinic, it is much better. The staff is friendlier, more understanding. I get into my appointments as I arrive.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
Each IUI cycle costed a total of about $3000, as my insurance does not provide coverage. This includes medication. My IVF cycle cost around $18000 including medications.
This IVF cycle has cost about $19,000 plus $4000 in medications.
Describe Natalie Burger's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
We have discussed this, at length. I would prefer multiples since I believe that would give me a higher chance at success. She prefers singles because of less chance of problems throughout the pregnancy, higher success rates after genetic testing, etc. Most importantly, I trust her. She has given me her rationale and I agree.
She [Dr. Burger] discovered a birth defect I had in my uterus that no other dr had noticed. She encouraged me to take care of that prior to IVF. My husband had zero sperm so she refered us to an excellent dr and helped us get an appt faster than normal. My husband's specialist was able to surgically get sperm and Natalie encouraged us to use ICSI and strongly suggested only transferring one embryo. She performed my procedure herself as well as the retrieval and implantation.
Excellent clinic [Texas Fertility Center]! They are prompt and on time, answer questions with kindness! They are really busy, it took a long Time to get my records sent to my new doctor....[nurse] Answered all my questions and was very kind. Convenient to email her periodically and always got quick responses. Very thorough when teaching about medications. Visits were always quick!...Total about $25,000... When the insurance company was difficult with medications she [Dr. Burger] intervened and found an alternative route that insurance would work with.
How was your experience with Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Natalie was great at explaining everything she was doing before and during a procedure. She was always calm and patient with our questions or concerns. She was honest and compassionate. There were a few times that I think she assumed we knew something but when we would stop and ask for more info or clarification she would not rush but took the time to fully explain things to us.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Ask a lot of questions, don't hesitate, no question is stupid!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
She took the time to listen to our story and what our journey was like. She was always kind and remembered details about us when we would visit.

Describe Natalie Burger's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
Natalie is very adamant about giving her patients the healthiest outcome and therefore has a lot of information to share about why she does not prefer multiple embryo transfers.
She [Dr. Natalie Burger] presented all information about my infertility very directly and scientifically, but also with a plan and hope...Though my ovarian reserve was low and my chances of conceiving with my own eggs very low, she never took that option off the table, she was just very honest about the expected results. I am not sure that without her guidance we would have been so open to using donor eggs, but she made the whole experience wonderful and I trusted her perspective completely.
Leanne [nurse at Texas Fertility Center] was fairly responsive on email though I found that I usually had to wait until the evening to get a response... The on-call weekend nurse was Pam who I loved...It [Donor Egg IVF] was approximately $30,000 all in, not including genetic testing on the embryos...I found the fact that they have multiple locations really convenient. We mainly went to the Austin South office which is closer to our home and that was nice. We did have to go to the North location for the procedure, but it was also convenient and the experience there was far better than other clinics.
How was your experience with Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
I can't say enough about Dr. Burger. Initially she may come off as a bit stiff, but she really does a great job of communicating all options. Though my ovarian reserve was low and my chances of conceiving with my own eggs very low, she never took that option off the table, she was just very honest about the expected results. I am not sure that without her guidance we would have been so open to using donor eggs, but she made the whole experience wonderful and I trusted her perspective completely.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
I would say to not be put off if she seems a bit detached at first - listen to what she's saying and give her time to warm up. After working with four doctors I can say that I felt more cared for by her than any of the others.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
I liked Dr. Burger immediately. She presented all information about my infertility very directly and scientifically, but also with a plan and hope. After three transfers, the experience I had with Dr. Burger was far and away the best. She spoke to me the whole time, allowed my husband to be in the room with me, and we got to see the embryo on the screen before the transfer and then watch as it was placed. After the procedure she gave us both a big hug and I really felt like she was genuinely rooting for us.
Describe the protocols Natalie Burger used in your cycles at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Because we used donor eggs, the protocol was fairly straightforward and more like a frozen embryo transfer. I took a birth control pill to sync up my schedule with the donor, then started on lupron, followed by Estradiol before the transfer and then continued on that after the transfer along with Crinone progesterone gel and nightly progesterone suppositories.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Leanne)
Leanne was fairly responsive on email though I found that I usually had to wait until the evening to get a response. Once I realized that I knew what to expect. The on-call weekend nurse was Pam who I loved. Then again, she's the one who gave me the good news about my positive test so it would be hard to say anything negative about her no matter what!

Describe Natalie Burger's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
Again, because we used donor eggs Dr. Burger recommended a single embryo transfer. This is where I really appreciated her perspective and what she said was, "We want to make sure this pregnancy is safe for both you and the baby. Our goal is to have you both leave the hospital completely safe." That really resonated with both my husband and me.
I liked Dr Burger from the very beginning; as soon as she got all of our information and background, she was already writing out plans for treatment. She was honest with us about our odds and never sugar coated anything, but was also encouraging. She kept us updated throughout every step of every process. I trusted her completely to do right by us...Dr Burger was always friendly and cheerful to us. She answered all of our questions and took our concerns seriously.
TFC was clean, quiet and organized. Both locations we used were equally nice. It was really convenient being able to make appointments at the different locations depending on which was more convenient for us at the time. The new surgical center we used for IVF was excellent. We almost never had to wait long for appointments...One time I wasn't called with my beta result from an IUI. I knew it was negative but wanted to hear it just in case. After some phone tag with the after hours nurse we got the result.

Describe the protocols Natalie Burger used in your cycles at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
I did four IUI with Femara and two Femara only cycles, with doses ranging from 2.5-7.5mg. Half the cycles were with progesterone supplementation due to a shortening luteal phase. We had no quantifiable issues so IUI was the first step before IVF. When we moved to IVF we had an antagonist protocol with birth control suppression, gonal F, Menopur and cetrotide. Gonal F doses ranged from 75-300IU depending on estradiol levels. 75IU Menopur and cetrotide were used on days 10-13 of stims. 23 eggs were retrieved, 10 each fertilized normally and with ICSI, and 11 embryos were frozen. Half and half approach was used in case of fertilization issues.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: DeeDee for IVF)
DeeDee was always very quick to reply to communication. She was flexible with our odd situation (me unable to receive calls at work) and talked to my husband often.

Ultrasound monitoring was $200 each. Sperm wash $200, IUI $200. IVF plus one transfer was about $18k, higher than usual due to me needing more meds and having so many embryos to take care of.
Describe Natalie Burger's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
Dr Burger strongly suggested eSET due to our ages, unexplained infertility, and general clinic practice. She said she'd only consider multiples after a few failed transfers.
What specific things went wrong at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
Failed to call with results
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
One time I wasn't called with my beta result from an IUI. I knew it was negative but wanted to hear it just in case. After some phone tag with the after hours nurse we got the result.
Dr. Burger was warm and listened to all of my many questions. My case was a bit different as I have no known fertility issues, I’m married to woman so we just lack the equipment necessary to get pregnant. Dr. Burger was open and accepting...I was prescribed Femara, and it resulted in two large follicles. Since I had been ovulating naturally, we decided against the trigger shot. I used a clear blue digital ovulation kit to monitor at home, and when I got the smiley face, I called the office to schedule the iui for the next day...
They [nurses at Texas Fertility Center] are very busy but also made time to answer questions...I have probably paid around 1500 total for my consult, ultrasounds, medication, IUI, sperm processing. Next cycle should be only around $700...Just like at any clinic, you really need to be on top of your treatment plan and make sure you understand all the steps! The nurses are not in in charge of your care, YOU ARE. So make sure that you understand he steps in the plan forwards and backwards. If you don’t understand something, the nurses will happily help you.
How was your experience with Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
I liked Dr Burger a lot. Treatment plans can be confusing and she was very clear about what needed to happen and when. I had many questions about medication and she wrote out a timeline for me, and made sure that any questions I had were answered.

Dr Burger has been great all around. I feel like she's very realistic and doesn't push me into things, just gives information and lets me make my own choices. When we found issues, she was very clear with me what was up and how we can fix it...reassuringly clinical and empathetic/down to earth at the same time...You're going to get a lot of information and it might be overwhelming. Dr Burger knows that! Just write stuff down and call back if you need to, they are super willing to help and answer questions.
you will have your primary doc, but they do rotations for weekends and IUIs [at Texas Fertility Center]. I've had great experiences with three docs I've worked with have all been great, just something to know though... they've [nurses have] been so helpful and informative. I'm single and my fertility had never come into play before, so we started with all the diagnostic tests: blood work, infectious disease panel, ultrasound, and HSG.
HSG found an uterine septum and furthered the likelihood of endometriosis. We scheduled surgery for both, and in the wait time (for my schedule, not hers) I did an unmedicated IUI, just to try. It didn't work, I had a successful surgery and am now waiting to heal and try again.

Dr. Natalie Burger always went over the plan to make sure I understand what I needed to do and the procedure was going to go. Even though none of the cycles resulted in a pregnancy, she always had a positive outlook... The first couple of IUIs we used Femara by itself uping the dose on the third IUI I believe. On the fourth and fifth IUIs, we added injection shots to give us more chances with an increase in eggs. None of the IUIs worked, so our next step would be IVF, but the costs is stopping us from proceeding any further.
The clinics [at Texas Fertility Center] were always clean. They were easy to get to if you are familiar with the area. They had supplies such as pad, tampons, etc. in the bathroom if needed. Parking was sometimes an issue, but for the most part I always found a parking spot.... My nurse was wonderful. She always responded to her email and voicemails in a timely fashion. Always got back to me if I had questions and she needed to talk with the doctor.

We decided to go with the least invasive strategy first. I did 3 IUI's before getting pregnant. All were without medicine.
After I returned to fertility treatments again we decided together to try fertility meds because she thought stimulating my ovaries would increase the quality of the eggs.
AFter that IUI did not work (due to low motile sperm count probably) a cyst developed on one ovary so we decided to not use meds on the next round. I became pregnant.

Describe Natalie Burger's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic).
Dr. Burger’s care is compassionate. She takes time to explain procedures, risks of treatments, but is not overly warm and fuzzy. During my miscarriage she was incredibly understanding and thoughtful in helping process the loss...She has a lot of expertise in her field and was able to diagnose me with endometriosis, which other doctors had missed. I did two IUIs and both resulted in pregnancy
Nursing staff [of Texas Fertility Center] are well organized and respond to calls quickly. To reach a nurse you do have to leave a message; they always return calls but if you work somewhere that doesn’t allow you to take their calls easily this could be a challenge for you...I never waited more than 20 minutes for an appointment (and that was uncommon). IUI cost around $800 (not covered by instance). My endometriosis surgery was covered by insurance, but my out of pocket was around $2,500.
Be prepared that it will not be a warm and fuzzy experience, but she [Dr. Natalie Burger] will be kind and tactful.... Started with progesterone suppositories to try and lengthen my LP, then IUI with Femara. Upped my Femara dose for IUI #2 to 7.5 mg and added Estradiol with the progesterone, reducing Estradiol dose for IUI #3 because it made me very moody and irritable. My LP has lengthened to 12-14 days with this protocol, but no pregnancy yet.
It’s been pretty easy to get appointments [at Texas Fertility Center-South Austin], but there is not much availability for early morning. The south location also has some limitations, so I’ve needed to go to the main office a few times. You’ll just need to be flexible sometimes... My primary nurse and the on call nurse have both been outstanding and uplifting... have a dedicated nurse that is very easy to reach, and her bedside manner is kind while also being clinical and realistic
How was your experience with Natalie Burger at Texas Fertility Center (US Fertility Network clinic)?
I don’t think this is really Dr. Burger’s fault because I have done a ton of research and the terminology and basic plan was familiar to me already, but my husband has been confused about the plan and next steps.

Every single time I go to the clinic, I see my doctor [Dr. Natalie Burger]. She will spend as much time with me as needed to answer all of my questions. She is compassionate.... I don’t see my nurse much since I go to a satellite location, not the main office. She is available for questions via phone during business hours. The on-call nurse is available after hours.

I have had a great experience with Dr. Burger. She removed my stage 4 endometriosis recently. I was just diagnosed with Diminised Ovarian Reserve and we are likely going to be pursuing IVF soon. I feel confident being under her care...Dr. Burger is very warm and caring. She takes time to listen and answer all questions without seeming annoyed.
Several years ago a nurse [from Texas Fertility Center] called to tell me I had a blocked tube but that they would be able to unblock it. Then at my follow up appointment with the doctor, she said she had never said that, and that the nurse was mistaken. I had to have the tube removed...I am just starting with treatment so I can't say but for my surgery for endometriosis I paid about 1500

Dr Burger got to know us and our situation. She was very willing to try IUI with us before moving onto IVF. I felt she was very honest with us throughout our treatment... She was always very informative. We always felt she was sensitive to our situation and would make time to speak with us after failed attempts to explain what we could do next and cover what was involved in that.
The nursing staff were all very caring and understanding of the environment they were working in... There are other good doctors at the clinic but Dr Burger was our favourite. She is very open and honest with you and will listen to your needs.

I felt she was very honest with us throughout our treatment which was a great thing because I would have hated to spend more money undergoing procedures that would not necessarily have ever resulted in pregnancy.

She [Dr. Burger] performed surgery to remove my uterine septum as well as a polyp. After healing, we did 2 rounds with Femara and timed intercourse and 1 round with Femara, Ovidrel and IUI. We ended up getting pregnant on a natural cycle...She sat with me and answered every question. We came up with a plan A, B, and C...She is a great listener, very well educated, and willing to give many options...She is so knowledgeable about this field of medicine and really knows her stuff.
The nursing staff [at Texas Fertility Center] is very communicative!...With insurance coverage (before deductible) ultrasound was $190, IUI was about $565...Extremely well organized, clean, and professional...She performed surgery to remove my uterine septum as well as a polyp. Dr. Burger spent a good deal of quality time with us. We didn't feel rushed and she was very patient...She was very professional and knowledgable. This was during the height of the COVID-19 crisis so the whole process was much more complicated than we were hoping for. We couldn't help but wonder if quality of service was impacted due to the short staff and the general stress and anxiety that everyone is feeling.
They [Texas Fertility Center nursing staff] were professional and knowledgeable. The billing was much less complicated and they were very patient...It's hard to say, we could feel and hear the anxiety everyone was feeling because of COVID-19. Even when we received the news that no embryos developed, the embryologist seemed very dispassionate. It sounded like just "run of the mill" information, however, it was very devastating information for us to hear after spending more than $10,000

When things dont go well [Dr. Natalie Burger] explained the issue with lot of empathy and care for our loss...customized treatment just right for my needs not too aggressive or not too less. Things progressed immediately since our first visit and she analyzed how my body is responding to the treatment. Gave medication supplement right dose so i was able to conveive in 3 cycles...i have haromanal imablance fertility issues so I could not understand what are the specifics of my issue. Dr Natalie Burer understood my health in 1cycle that I cant ovulate, its hard to predict ovulation dates using test strips, even if i ovulate i may need progesterone. I was recommended IUI bcoz of stress we as couple had to meet during the time frame of ovulation.
I receive great support from Leanne [nurse at Texas Fertility Center] in responding to my concerns on time and reporting lab results ASAP...When things dont go well [Dr. Natalie Burger] explained the issue with lot of empathy and care for our loss...customized treatment just right for my needs not too aggressive or not too less.
