Dr. Stenz from Shady Grove Fertility was so amazing that i captured my whole journey and recommended this very clinic on youtube. She made my dreams come true as a transman and that's to still have children that are related to me as my wife carries them, allowing me to finish my transition successfully. She changed my life! I've never been so excited to do something like this!

Just be patient and trust the process and definitely Trust her she has your back and she wants nothing but the best for you!

We went two weeks of me taking medication that helps your ovaries to stimulate so that the eggs can be frozen. For those two weeks, I had to come in a couple of times so they could do the ultrasounds and just monitor my process. After the 10th day of the meds, I had an in house small procedure to extract the 41 eggs that were produced. This process literally took me 3 months from start to finish.

I didn’t see Dr Stentz after my consult ( maybe once or twice throughout). Her nurses are the best!! Absolute gems. They made things easy and had so much compassion. Dr Stentz helped me understand that I was ready to start the procedure and tried to make sure I understood finances by linking me up with a financial advisor immediately after the visit. I had just found out that I had bilateral hydrosalpinx and removed both my Fallopian tubes a few months earlier. I was feeling very bad because I was taking the blame for “frying” my tubes when I needed to be making our family. It was a very stressful time for me and I feel like she truly empathized. I felt that way and it made me feel better. She laid out a potential plan for me and ensured me that my age made me a viable candidate for the shared risk program (which we couldn’t afford). Although, our finances didn’t allow us choose this option, it was reassuring that they were confident in our success odds.

Don’t blame yourself. Make sure you have a support system because it’s lonely going through this alone. So far Dr Stentz has Shady are a decent company. I sometimes wonder if I should have gotten a second opinion before my salpinjectomy with Dr Schirmer at Emory.

I remember using lupron as a trigger because I was nearing symptoms of OHSS. I used Gonal F, Menopur and Cetrotide injections Progesterone pessaries and estrogen tablets . Sorry that I don’t have specifics

I would rather double and requested them. I have strong breast cancer links in my family and recently had to do a biopsy bilaterally to r/o cancer. I just want to have as less hormonal shifts as I can control. With each cycle (being that our first one failed) and my next mammogram was abnormal, I don’t want to have too many more.

Dr. Stentz is approachable, which was important to me. She didn’t laugh at my questions and she never made me feel like my questions and concerns were irrelevant. She told me what to expect and has communicated changes in the plan effectively and in a timely manner.

Take a list of questions with you during the consultation. She may answer most of your questions before you ask, but she’s always willing to further explain and address the patients concerns/inquiries.

I haven’t completed my cycle. During my consultation she informed me that I would be a good candidate for IUI or IVF and she told me we would wait for my test results to make a final decision. During my ultrasound she could tell I was in pain and gave some helpful suggestions to make future vaginal ultrasounds more comfortable. She explained why and how the use of dilators would help reduce my discomfort and gave a few suggestions of places to purchase them.

Dr. Stentz was extremely thorough in accessing my medical history and providing the best treatment possible. She walked me step-by-step on what the process for IUI and IVF entail. I left Shady Grove feeling confident about my options. Her bedside manner was compassionate and empathetic, but she also made me feel like there was hope for my situation.

The prospective patient will leave their consultation with Dr. Stentz feeling well-informed and in control of their fertility treatments. There was not a question that she didn't answer well. The prospective patient will leave feeling empowered and comfortable about proceeding with their fertility treatments.

Dr. Stentz recommended IVF for my future fertility treatment. I have not proceeded with treatments as of yet.

I was quoted $15,500 for fees related to IVF.

During our initial consultation, Dr. Stentz and I did not have a conversation related to eSET.

She is very caring and sympathetic to our hard journey. She has tried different options, talking with different doctors, and pushed hard for us. It’s hard not having exact answers but I trust that Dr. Stentz takes it hard too and truly wants to do everything in her power to help us conceive.

Ask any question about altering treatment. She is open and very flexible to different options

I know we used letrozole for the iui’s. When those were unsuccessful we tested my partners sperm. After 3 failed iui’s we moved on to IVF which was our choice but also suggested by Dr Stentz. We used ganirelix and other injections. We are at the end of a 4 month break so I don’t remember all the details.

We had 3 failed iui’s, 3 failed ivf(with no embryo transfer), and one ectopic pregnancy that was medicated and we’ve spent around $87,000 so far

I know she only wanted to transfer one embryo but we never got to that point because none of our embryos matured.

I cannot express strongly enough what a wonderful doctor and human Dr. Stentz is. She is obviously incredible intelligent, but is able to make a difficult and sometimes confusing process more understandable. She gave us the opportunity to try to get pregnant when I don’t know that any other clinic who have. We can’t thank her enough for guiding us through this process and for truly caring about me as a person. I don’t know what I would have done without her.
