How was your experience with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Dr Asemota is very knowledgeable about infertility and reproductive health in general. Apart from thoroughly educating us about our diagnosis, treatment options/procedure, and complications, she also signposted us to additional material that helped to build our confidence. She was very honest and transparent with information about our treatment options and what was the most suitable one for our diagnosis. In our case for instance, our diagnosis was male factor infertility with poor quality sperm (abnormal morphology, low count, low concentration and motility). She was candid enough to make us understand that natural conception was very unlikely and that IUI would not do any better especially after trying for almost 10 years. Because we were financially challenged at the time, we insisted on having a trial of IUI which she was willing to do. Once the IUI failed, she advised that doing another round of IUI might be a waste of resources, and that our best option was ICSI. Dr A is not just passionate about her work and getting good outcomes, but she's also very compassionate about restoring the lost hope and confidence between couples by making them pregnant. I would say that this is one of her greatest strengths. Dr A boasts of a great network of donors who from time to time provide funding to support couples who cannot afford the cost of IVF treatment. Once she realized that we could not afford ICSI, she compassionately signposted us to grants that covered free and up to 50% off IVF cycles. We put out a good statement in our application and were lucky to be the winners of a free IVF cycle which resulted to a positive pregnancy. She is not only kind and respectful to her patients but exhibits very cordial relationship with her team. She is very responsive, and queries directed at her during or after working hours are promptly and adequately responded to.
I can hardly make out any weaknesses. Having heard all the negatives about patient doctor encounters, i must say there a very good exceptions out there and Dr A was just outstanding.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Ask as many questions as you can, Dr A and team are patient enough to listen and provide you with answers. Read all the material provided to you and learn to exercise a little bit of patience. The fertility journey is not a sprint!!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
From my very first visit in December 2022, Dr A as we fondly call her was very receptive and pleasant. She quickly picked up our names and knew them by heart. She identified with our infertility ordeals and was very compassionate throughout. We developed a cordial relationship with Dr A and her clinical and administrative staff and unlike the strict agency relationship, we shared a lot of humor which was very significant to help us through a very difficult spell of infertility treatment. Dr A never missed or postponed my appointments, neither did she rush us during our consultations. She was always soft spoken and cheerful. She adequately educated us on infertility as a medical problem couples face and in very simple terms explained the cause of our infertility, while providing us with the options available for treatment. The clinical staff were very professional as they respected our dignity and elaborated on any step or procedure taken in our fertility journey. Being a patient at hope fertility felt like being part of a family.
Describe the protocols Obehi Asemota used in your cycles at Hope Fertility and their degree of success.
For egg retrieval follicular stimulation was done with Gonal-F subcut inj, with Low dose HCG 5 subcut and aspirin, then cetrotide subcut added on the 8th day followed by 5000 HCG, Lupron and Carbagoline before retrieval.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Hope Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Kristy Sutton)
There could not have been a better person to be assigned as my coordinator. Kristy has a caring and compassionate personality. She is respectful and fully committed to doing her Job. Kristy ensures that my instructions are posted on time, detailed enough but simple to understand. She is very accessible and always responds to my concerns accordingly. She has good problem-solving skills which were demonstrated several times when I was anxious about mild bleeding following my procedure, or issues with medication dosages. She was able to calm me down and provide the information needed to address the issue or reassurance which were very helpful. She was always available to receive me at the clinic ensuring that I receive dignified and high quality care.
Describe your experience with Hope Fertility.
Hope fertility clinic is situated in a great location, away from the traffic, congestion and noise pollution. They have a great and tidy space, with a nice touch to the interior (including reception area, offices, specimen collection and procedure rooms) which makes for a very patient-friendly environment. The health information management system (patient portal) is easy to navigate and there's always someone available to provide prompt responses to queries not directly addressed to Dr Asemota or the coordinator. Hope fertility boasts of very professional and knowledgeable clinical and administrative staff that made my interest a priority. They were very transparent with all communication surrounding my care including costs of treatment and the line of action that will lead to better outcomes. Detailed information was provided for all procedures and informed consent was sought on every occasion. Being a patient at hope fertility has been one of the biggest blessings in my life, considering the fact that having a baby has been my biggest dream, but affording successful treatment would have taken a lifetime. Hope fertility made this dream a reality through a free IVF cycle grant that we won few months ago. My partner and I are 100% happy with the team and the care they provided. Getting to this point required support that was outside the remits of direct clinical care, and hope fertility as a team were there to support me to surpass those hurdles.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility.
Our Hope Fertility's IVF Cycle was a $12,500 package which could have been reduced to $10K if paid in cash, check or wire transfer on or before cycle due date. Fortunately, we won a 100% (free) IVF cycle which covered the costs of the frozen embryo transfer. Labs were covered by insurance. Cost of medication ranged somewhere between $4000-$6500. Backup medication, coupons and insurance helped to cushion medication cost.
Cost of IUI was around $1650
Describe Obehi Asemota's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Hope Fertility.
Dr A explained single and multiple embryo transfer and explained the risks of multiple pregnancy especially. The option was mine to chose from, but i sensed a preference for single transfer mainly because of her assessment of my risks and the fact that its my first pregnancy
Her [Dr. Obehi Asemota] door was open every time I was there, making her easy to chat with even if I was only there for bloodwork...would reply to my questions in the patient portal promptly...During our IUI procedure, I told her how nervous I was about cervical pain from a past experience...took the time to get Alexa set up for me with music that relaxes me, she was explaining everything so I was not in the dark about what would happen, and again, as it was happening.
The office [Hope Fertility has] a small boutique feel, both in the aesthetics and the level of attention and care...I was given not only personalized care by Dr. Asemota, but I was also assigned a personal care point of contact in the office...We laughed with our care team, we felt heard, we felt like they took time with us, rather than rushing us...Wonderfully warm office all around.
How was your experience with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
I kind of already said this in the previous prompt, but I will just reiterate how warm and friendly and approachable she was. Her door was open every time I was there, making her easy to chat with even if I was only there for bloodwork, not there to see her. She would reply to my questions in the patient portal promptly and even went above and beyond helping me understand things about getting a covid vaccination now that I am pregnant, as well as researching something for me about my dental care as a pregnant person that I was not able to find anywhere else. She connected with us on a human level both in and out of the office and that was really meaningful for both my husband and me. During our IUI procedure, I told her how nervous I was about cervical pain from a past experience, and took the time to get Alexa set up for me with music that relaxes me, she was explaining everything so I was not in the dark about what would happen, and again, as it was happening.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Just go! She is amazing. No advice needed.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
This is my first experience personally with a fertility doctor. But I work with parents of babies, about half of whom got pregnant using a fertility doctor and who shared with me what their experience was like with their various doctors. Because of those stories, I was expecting to be treated like just another number on a file. My experience at Hope Fertility with Dr. Asemota was significantly better than what I was expecting. I was given not only personalized care by Dr. Asemota, but I was also assigned a personal care point of contact in the office (Niecy) who also got to know me and my husband while we were in their care. The office has a small boutique feel, both in the aesthetics and the level of attention and care. But it doesn't come with the arrogant doctor with no bedside manner. We laughed with our care team, we felt heard, we felt like they took time with us, rather than rushing us. I never felt rushed, I never felt that my questions were viewed as annoying. It felt like she REALLY wanted us to get pregnant as much as we did.
Describe the protocols Obehi Asemota used in your cycles at Hope Fertility and their degree of success.
I wish I could give this information, I forgot the fertility jargon as soon as it was no longer relevant! I know we did a blend of Clomid and injections, and I know that produced 3 mature eggs at the time of our IUI procedure.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Hope Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Niecy)
I loved having Niecy as my care point of contact. She was so calm, and had any answer to any question I had for her. And the random time or two that she didn't, she didn't pretend to know to save face. She was honest and got Dr. Asemota involved to get me an answer ASAP. I never felt anything but totally cared for with Niecy. I'm sure the others were amazing too! I just didn't get to know them as they were not assigned to me.
Describe your experience with Hope Fertility.
The clinic itself is very aesthetically pleasing making it feel more like a boutique with tasteful art, not a cold doctor's office feeling. They are SUPER diligent about cleaning, sanitizing, temp taking, and making you wait in your car instead of in the lobby because, Covid is still a thing at the time of my writing this. The front desk staff remember you each time, and seem to be rooting for you as much as Dr. Asemota and the nurses. Wonderfully warm office all around.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility.
Everything was covered by our insurance.
Describe Obehi Asemota's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Hope Fertility.
[Dr. Obehi Asemota] went above and beyond to answer our questions, listen to our concerns, educate us to make tough decisions, and find the right treatment plan...This was the first clinic where we felt like she planned our treatment cycle specifically for us...helped us decide to pursue treatment for endometriosis before starting a cycle...When challenges occurred she worked hard to reassure us. She doesn’t sugar coat things, but is very honest and scientific with her answers. She uses compassions but is trustworthy.
From the moment you walk into the clinic [Hope Fertility], you will feel welcome, known by name and heard. Seeing the same faces each time you go to the clinic makes a big difference. The online portal makes communication and getting your questions answered easy. The staff go above and beyond to make what can be a scary process feel doable. I would prefer to receive a calendar sooner in the process, but the team likes to make updates and decisions based on your latest bloodwork results. It’s great for personalizing your cycle but not so great for planning ahead.

Take lots of notes and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Everyone in the office and especially Dr. A goes above and beyond to know your name and your partner’s name and to respond to any questions promptly. She tries her best to make uncomfortable situations feel doable. She is positive but realistic.
Describe the protocols Obehi Asemota used in your cycles at Hope Fertility and their degree of success.
This was the first clinic where we felt like she planned our treatment cycle specifically for us. She helped us decide to pursue treatment for endometriosis before starting a cycle. She even referred us to a surgeon. She was the person we saw at every appointment (except for quick checks mid cycle), especially after pregnancy was achieved. She helped us decide on the best timing for a frozen embryo transfer based on bloodwork. She helped guide our decision to transfer two embryos after a biochemical miscarriage from a cycle at another clinic. She also helped us decide to use progesterone injections and estrogen patches based on my history with medications and outcomes.

Describe your experience with Hope Fertility.
Everyone is warm and friendly. They work hard to make uncomfortable situations feel achievable. From the financial consultation to a Celeste to every visit pre and post cycle we felt heard and cared for. They followed safely protocols but also allowed partners to attend some visits because they put the patient first. Everything is done in the same office by the same nurses and doctor. This was reassuring to me.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility.
The costs are comparable to other clinics in the area. Celeste is very knowledgeable and upfront about costs. She answers any questions and works hard to get as much covered by insurance as possible.
Describe Obehi Asemota's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Hope Fertility.
She will only present scientific data and give you all the choices. She makes sure you know the risks and does not sway your decision. We felt able to make an informed decision to transfer two embryos which resulted in one viable pregnancy. Other clinics did not give us that choice or take the time to present all options.
Dr A is initially very friendly. She explained the IVF process well at the first consultation...she cancelled one of my scheduled follow-up calls because she “didn’t think [I] needed it” the day after I went to the ER for a possible ectopic. She is not proactive in communicating next steps (whether immediate next steps or the overall plan). She refuses to let partners in for ultrasounds. She is the only doctor and runs two clinics. She seems to be way too busy to allow for the proper time and care to address each patient. I’ve seen her a couple of times for a couple of minutes except for my ER and FET.
[Hope Fertility] Strengths: smaller clinic, so you do tend to see the same staff. Organized with providing documentation (bloodwork requests, etc) through the portal. Generally get back to portal messages within 24/48 hours. Weaknesses: lack of compassion and warmth. Terrible at providing information up front. They only give you the very next step (eg. you need a blood draw tomorrow) and not the overall process. When I asked for the process to be listed in the portal, the response was aggressive and I felt like I was bothering them to want to know about my own care!
How was your experience with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Dr A is initially very friendly. She explained the IVF process well at the first consultation. I transferred to her from an IUI-only clinic. My experience with Dr A compared to my previous clinic: portal messages were responded to within 24 hours but were constantly getting misunderstood (she responded with overt defensiveness on more than one occasion), she cancelled one of my scheduled follow-up calls because she “didn’t think [I] needed it” the day after I went to the ER for a possible ectopic. She is not proactive in communicating next steps (whether immediate next steps or the overall plan). She refuses to let partners in for ultrasounds.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Expect to have limited communication with superficial responses to questions. Expect to have everything communicated via portal rather than phone call, even if a call would be 10x easier than 10 portal messages in a day.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
We chose this smaller practice in order to feel less like a number, but that hasn’t been the case. No staff remembers my name despite frequent appointments. Dr A has cancelled my follow up calls because she felt they were not needed. No real understanding of the human experience.
Describe the protocols Obehi Asemota used in your cycles at Hope Fertility and their degree of success.
Dr A batches her procedures. Meaning I had to take birth control for 2 weeks to get my cycle onto her schedule. Fully medicated FET. Bc for 2 weeks, Estradiol 3x daily, 81 mg baby aspirin daily, progesterone injections leading up to FET and for 8-14 weeks following.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Hope Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Neicey)
The staff at Hope varies wildly. The egg retrieval care coordinator (Nilsa) is great. Humane, friendly, organized. Gives the information up front so you don’t have to ask a billion questions.
The FET care coordinator/NP (Neicey) has no personality, no warmth, and gives limited info so I’m always having to follow up with additional questions.
The phlebotomist is contracted through a company and they are all AWFUL. Zero friendliness, and one put me in the emergency room after hitting a nerve and continuing the draw through extreme pain.
Front desk (Sarah) always seems to have a passive-aggressive vibe to her voice and choice of words. Not super warm, either.

Describe Obehi Asemota's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Hope Fertility.
Dr A said she rarely transfers multiple embryos due to risks. Only if untested and in certain age ranges.
What specific things went wrong at Hope Fertility?
Dr.A was wonderful with presenting us with all the options as two moms to be. We were able to do reciprocal ivf for our first son and ivf for our twin boys...Dr. A is not only a compassionate physician but an ally to the community...She always took time to check on us and make sure we understood everything. We are now again successfully pregnant with twin boys through ivf ( one egg transfer) and so thankful to her for our beautiful family!
Hope Fertility couldn’t have been any more welcoming to our family! Both my wife and I were evaluated and Dr. Asemota provided all options for us to create our family...The staff quickly responds to questions on the portal (even on weekends) and they provide you with a day by day calendar of medicines and protocols. Don’t wait, book your appointment now - even if you have had past failures with other doctors!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Dr. A went out of her way to get to know us and understand the family we were working to create.
How competent was Obehi Asemota at LGBTQ+ care?
Dr.A was wonderful with presenting us with all the options as two moms to be. We were able to do reciprocal ivf for our first son and ivf for our twin boys.
Describe your experience with Hope Fertility.
Dr. A treats you like a person and not just a number. She ensures that the best plan is in place for success and she’s supportive throughout the entire process (retrieval, transfer, etc.). There is so much to know and learn when going through this very sensitive process. The staff quickly responds to questions on the portal (even on weekends) and they provide you with a day by day calendar of medicines and protocols. They were also accommodating for scheduling monitoring appointments.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility.
Compared to other offices that we visited during our initial stages of planning our family, Hope Fertility is significantly more affordable.
How competent was Hope Fertility at LGBTQ+ care?
Hope Fertility couldn’t have been any more welcoming to our family! Both my wife and I were evaluated and Dr. Asemota provided all options for us to create our family.
Describe your experience using 3rd party reproduction (donor eggs, donor sperm, or gestational carrier) at Hope Fertility.
It was super easy! California Cryo shipped directly to Hope Fertility.
Dr. Asemota was very knowledgeable, professional and warm. She was very upfront and realistic about treatment and cost. We were able to reach and communicate with her via a portal. She or the staff responded to us swiftly, even on weekends...She preferred a single transfer, however I advocated for a double transfer. Dr. A, thoroughly communicated the risks involved with a double transfer, and agreed to do so.
[Hope Fertility] Strengths: amazing, caring and knowledgeable staff. The process prior to the retrievable really set the bat high. Weaknesses: I didn’t feel as prioritized after the retrieval as I did prior to it...Dr. Asemota and her staff were very personable and informative. I was assigned a care partner (a nurse), in which I was able to message them at any time and they usually responded within a few hours. I felt very cared for.

Get comfortable with communicating via a messaging portal. I enjoyed it because I am comfortable with that level of communication, however I can understand if some patients preferred to communicate verbally.

I don’t recall the specific rationales for treatment, however I do know that they were explained prior to the treatment.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Hope Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Nelsa and Neicey )
My first coordinator (Nelsa) was amazing. She coordinated the treatment prior to the embryo transfer. She was very communicative, patient and knowledgeable.
My second coordinator, Neicey (after transfer), was not as amazing as Nelsa, however she was still very knowledgeable and caring.
Describe your experience with Hope Fertility.
Strengths: amazing, caring and knowledgeable staff. The process prior to the retrievable really set the bat high.
Weaknesses: I didn’t feel as prioritized after the retrieval as I did prior to it.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility.
My health insurance covered the majority of the cost. The only thing we were responsible for was the double transfer fee (not covered by insurance). That price was $4,500.
Describe Obehi Asemota's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Hope Fertility.
She preferred a single transfer, however I advocated for a double transfer. Dr. A, thoroughly communicated the risks involved with a double transfer, and agreed to do so.
During my retrieval cycle I saw her [Dr. Obehi Asemota] twice. Once for a monitoring appointment and again at my retrieval. She’s very nice and personable but didn’t introduce the person shadowing her and what that person’s role was. What we discussed during my consult wasn’t what happened. She told me we’d freeze on day 3 if it looked like my embryos wouldn’t make it, that didn’t happen. My embryos were frozen on days 5 and 6. The calendar she showed me wasn’t the one I received.
I love that Dr. A is the only doctor [at Hope Fertility] but that’s also a drawback as she doesn’t have much time for patients. My care was mostly done by nurses. The office is a bit small and when they try to cu me everyone around the same time it gets pretty crowded especially when others bring spouses or friends to monitoring appointments. Seating is limited as well as parking...There’s a lot of miscommunication, inconsistencies, lack of communication, and information hidden. The staff doesn’t seem to communicate around each other well.

Write everything she says. Ask to record the consult. Ask her to recap everything in an email. Keep a running list of questions. Ask her to meet the financial team, what her processes are for post retrieval and post transfer. Ask her if anyone will follow up with you.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
It was a bit in the middle. I specifically transferred to see Dr. A. I saw her at my consult when we discussed my plan and calendar, one during my monitoring, and at my egg retrieval. The support staff never introduced themselves when coming to do ultrasounds. When I asked those names I got weird looks like I should know who they are.
Describe the protocols Obehi Asemota used in your cycles at Hope Fertility and their degree of success.
The rational was never explained to me so I don’t know why I have the treatment plan I do. I felt we could’ve been more aggressive, but I never got a chance to speak with her about it. .
Describe your experience with your nurse at Hope Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Nilsa)
Firstly, I do y know many of the staff as they never introduced themselves and didn’t seem to want to tell me their names. Nilsa, my nurse coordinator was easy to reach and was very personable until after my retrieval. I could barely reach her. We set a date and time to talk by phone to discuss my concerns and she never called. I had to call the office and speak to someone else. To date, I haven’t heard from Nilsa even though I’m told to speak with her about my next cycle.
I can’t send portal messages directly to her. It only allows messages to staff or front desk.
The nicest person is the phlebotomist, she has the best personality and is really sweet.
The other staff seem to hurry people in and out.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Hope Fertility.
There’s a lot of miscommunication, inconsistencies, lack of communication, and information hidden. The staff doesn’t seem to communicate around each other well. The embryologist comes off as rude in messages and doesn’t answer any questions instead telling me to talk to the doctor, who the staff say I need and appointment to speak with but won’t set one.
Everything was semi-smooth until after transfer. After the transfer is when it went downhill. I tried to schedule my next retrieval but they claim they need proof my insurance paid the claims. My insurance has never heard of a clinic doing this and I have progyny insurance.
Dr Obehi was very caring, warm and up front about my options to freeze my eggs. She gave me her honest opinion while allowing me the space to take some time and think through my options. Even when I I still was fully sure about moving forward she offered that I at least do the baseline testing to see where I am. After the results came back and everything looked good I was assured that this was the time to freeze my eggs. She presented me with the full expectations of the timing, schedules and drugs which eased my mind...
Monitoring appointments [at Hope Fertility] were pretty seemless; bloodwork, urine, ultrasound. You’re pretty much in and out very quickly 30-40 mins...Nilsa was AMAZING! She was patient, thorough and persistent when it came to my drugs not coming on time. One clinic failed to deliver my order not once but twice. She personally called and gave them the business in a professional way but I was able to receive them the next day and still meet my expected timeline. Also on the day of retrieval she could sense I was very nervous and offered to hold my hand until I drifted asleep...

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
I would say be prepared to know what you want first as an outcome and take in the information and suggestions. You will also need to carve out time for the appointments so having a flexible work schedule is important
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Dr. Asemota and her staff were extremely personable and empathetic at all times. The initial appointment was more of a conversation between friends with the insertion of medical suggestions based on my goals in fertility.
Describe the protocols Obehi Asemota used in your cycles at Hope Fertility and their degree of success.
Dr Asemota assessed that since I have not been on birth control in over a decade, that it would be best to start with a low dose birth control to prepare my body for the hormone treatments thereafter. It worked as I had very minimal side effects throughout the full course of medications

Describe Obehi Asemota's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Hope Fertility.
[Dr. Asemota] makes you feel as if you’re her only patient. During my first IUI procedure I was so nervous. She calmed me down by talking to me about my love of plants & before I knew it the procedure was over. When the 2 rounds of IUI were not successful she met with my husband & I and showed empathy. She assisted us in planning for our next steps, which are IVF...[she] makes sure that you have a full understanding & answers any questions you might have. She is the most personable Dr. I have ever had.
At Hope Fertility you feel like family! This is a boutique clinic so there is only one doctor. However, you never have long waits in the waiting room and it is never difficult to get an appointment. When you walk in the staff knows you by name and are always pleasant. I have never had any issues with the staff including [Dr. Asemota]...The nurses are always available by message in the patient portal and by phone. They are compassionate, professional, & always display a great deal of patience.

I did 2 rounds of IUI with Dr. A. My protocol was 5mg of letrozole on cycle day 3-7. I was monitored after the letrozole and took a trigger shot about 24 hrs prior to IUI. My first IUI I had 2 mature follicles and my second IUI I had 3 mature follicles. Unfortunately, both rounds were unsuccessful.

Describe Obehi Asemota's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Hope Fertility.
I appreciated my doctor letting me know that she was willing to do a multiple embryo transfer if I wanted to but any pregnancy that’s multiple is a little risky...Dr. A is extremely compassionate for every single person who walks into her office. She’s so open and helps you understand every single process you or your partner will be going through...
All of the staff at Hope is truly incredible, the patient coordinator and she is extremely informative and extremely helpful...This clinic is amazing. The small intimate atmosphere is what really caught my eye. The clinic is very sanitary and very organized. The only thing I wish was that maybe it would be a little bigger seating area...Monitoring appointments are tough because you are going so frequent. But the staff was very accommodating for my work schedule.

Dr. A is extremely compassionate for every single person who walks into her office. She’s so open and helps you understand every single process you or your partner will be going through. She’s very hopeful and I love how after years of infertility, some of that hope she has falls onto me. She is such a kind hearted woman and I truly see her as nothing but a blessing to me.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
One piece of advice I’d give a patient is “be hopeful” I know it’s so hard when woman struggle with infertility. It’s hard to keep the hope alive after being let down so many times.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
I love Dr. A’s facility just because of how small and intimate it is. I feel like going to such a big hospital people tend to look at you just as a number but with Dr. A, literally every staff member knows me on a first name basis. It feels like such a tight knit family when I walk into the door.
Describe the protocols Obehi Asemota used in your cycles at Hope Fertility and their degree of success.
I originally did an IUI with Dr. A, it was my third IUI but my first with her. Insurance denied my request to do IVF and they said another IUI cycle had to be done before IVF. So we did that and unfortunately it failed. We then moved onto IVF and right now I’m in the middle of that cycle. I am scheduled for an FET on April 18th if all goes well.

My out of pocket cost is a little over 2,000 dollars because I did have insurance. Unfortunately insurance doesn’t cover everything. The 2,000 is the procedure alone. That doesn’t count the millions of meds I had to pay for out of pocket because I hadn’t hit my deductible yet or insurance just wasn’t covering that specific medicine.

No explanation was given to me [by Dr. Obehi Asemota] about my treatment strategy...You won't see her that often. I've been up to this location several times and have only seen her 6 times. I've read others reviews about Dr. Asemota giving them her phone number but that wasn't my experience. She is nice however...11 eggs turned into 1 embryo at blastocyst...2nd try: (I advise I would like more eggs retrieved ) Gonal-F 300 units Low-Dose hCG 10 units Ganirelix Aspirin 81 mg-continue daily Prenatal vitamins daily-continue Results: 11 eggs again, still pending results
the staff [at Aspire Fertility] doesn't typically explain why they are asking you to do something...No explanation was given to me about my treatment strategy...Nursing staff is great. However my coordinator never officially introduced herself and when she sees me in person she doesn't speak. She also doesn't explain the reasons behind the course of actions I have to take. Also when it came time for my 2nd egg retrieval she was in the room on her phone standing in front of me while my legs were spread open in stirrups. That made me uncomfortable.

I was randomly scheduled a 2nd sonohysterogram without being informed of the reason why- I had to ask if there was an issue to be advised that they saw a polyp the 1st time (no one informed me during the 1st exam) and wanted to see if it went away.
Dr Asemota provided me with all my options at every given time. I’ve had several surgeries during this process and to think I need to have another one is overwhelming, however I know that I am in good hands and will remain optimistic of what is to come. I’m grateful to have a straightforward doctor that listens to my concerns and provide me with realistic feedback. I’m well informed about what’s happening with my IVF journey.

I’m grateful to have such a great team that’s compassionate and always available to answer my questions.... The clinic is not in a stand alone building. It’s in a corporate building. How was your experience with Obehi Asemota at Aspire Fertility - Dallas (Prelude Network clinic)?
Dr Obehi Osemota gave me realistic expectations, but at the same time I had hope even though the odds were against me based on my numbers. She assured me throughout the process that things can change and we aren’t out the dark. Things changed instantly, however going through a cycle with a transfer has given me insight of what to expect. Unfortunately, I have to have another surgery to remove the fibroids and was given the choice to go through another cycle to retrieve more eggs since we are left with only one embryo. Ideally, we would love to since either case I must have surgery prior to transferring the remaining embryo. Dr Asemota provided me with all my options at every given time. I’ve had several surgeries during this process and to think I need to have another one is overwhelming, however I know that I am in good hands and will remain optimistic of what is to come. What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Obehi Asemota at Aspire Fertility - Dallas (Prelude Network clinic)?
Ask questions, be open and honest. Do not be afraid to voice your concerns and ask the things that are lingering in your head. Your doctor should provide you with honest professional feedback even if it’s something that may not be pleasing to you. I would also say be patient with yourself. It’s easy to want to rush things, however nothing happens before it’s time. This will save you from a world of headache.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Obehi Asemota at Aspire Fertility - Dallas (Prelude Network clinic)?
The office in Atlanta is the extension of the clinic in Houston, Texas. It’s relatively new and pretty small. The staff are great with communication and keeping one in the loop even when things may get a little hectic. My situation is a challenging case. My numbers were sky high and even though we haven’t hit the end goal as of yet, Dr Asemota surpassed what she originally thought. She wanted me to try for the sake of my sanity and my body produced more than expected. We hit many road bumps during this journey, but the human factor remained. Prior to IVF, I needed to remove my remaining tube, because it was blocked. After my egg retrieval, it took my body some time to heal. Right before transfer at my baseline appointment, we notice spotting, so I was canceled. I was devastated, however Dr Asemota explained to me why it wouldn’t be a good environment to transfer and requested for a saline ultrasound along with an endometriosis biopsy to be done to assure there aren’t any infection. Everything came back normal and we proceeded with the transfer earlier this year. Everything seemed to be perfect, but we didn’t implant and she wanted to do a hysteroscopy to look inside my uterus. We found out although I do not have fibroids inside my uterus, they are protruding in my uterus which may be the cause of the failed IVF cycle. She called me directly to give me the news and was so calm and reassuring that we still have hope with our 1 remaining embryo.
Describe the protocols Obehi Asemota used in your cycles at Aspire Fertility - Dallas (Prelude Network clinic) and their degree of success.
My case required an aggressive form of IVF with high dosage of meds. The protocol started with birth control then afterwards I had to start taking GonalF-450IU, Chorionic Gonad and Cetrotide prior to egg retrieval. My body responded pretty well under this protocol. She was concerned with my numbers that I may not respond, but I was a fast responder to the meds prescribed. Prior to egg retrieval she prescribed Azithromycin, baby aspirin, low-hcg 10IU for the trigger shot. For transfer, I took estradiol 2mg 3 times per day, along with estradiol patches(changed every 3 days), baby aspirin, and progesterone in oil IM shots at night.

The clinic is fairly new and during my time there staff overturn was happening and things got a bit hectic during that time. With anything new it’s possible to happen since people are feeling out positions etc. Since then it has become more settled, better systems are put in place such as the automated phone system. The clinic is not in a stand alone building. It’s in a corporate building. I was taken aback by this, but it worked out fine. There’s a free parking garage with guest parking.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Obehi Asemota at Aspire Fertility - Dallas (Prelude Network clinic).
1 round of IVF was $14,000 without meds. My meds ran about $5,800 more or less.
Describe Obehi Asemota's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Aspire Fertility - Dallas (Prelude Network clinic).
Her approach in my opinion was based on the patient’s age.
Go in knowing that she is soft-spoken, but very clinical. She's patient and kind, but not warm. ... I have low ovarian reserve, so egg retrieval wasn't a huge amount. Dr.Asemota was very supportive of a second retrieval and we were so lucky to get a number of embryos we were happy with and ready for transfer. ... She's obviously incredibly intelligent, knows what she is doing and is trustworthy. She was always honest with us.
... suddenly a year later , they [Aspire Fertility] said they DON'T accept our United Insurance. This has left us in a financial mess. Billing has outright lied to my husband. Because of their error we are closing in on a time sensitive medication deadline for embryo transfer and I am unable to even get my prescriptions. No one will call my husband back. ... Brandy my phlebotomist is basically my favorite person ever. Niecey and Vernita were always very kind. Melody at the front desk was always nice and remembered my name when I walked in.

It was suggested that we try IUI first. I had my fallopian tubes evaluated, they were open and normal so we proceeded with 5 IUI cycles, we had one chemical pregnancy which was devastating, then 4 negatives then we moved onto IVF. I have low ovarian reserve, so egg retrieval wasn't a huge amount. Dr.Asemota was very supportive of a second retrieval and we were so lucky to get a number of embryos we were happy with and ready for transfer.

Kristy has been very good about answering questions. While we were going through the cycle she was willing to call us back on the weekend while the clinic was closed. I really appreciate her approach and her kindness.

Strengths: Beautiful, in house lab, Brandy my phlebotomist is basically my favorite person ever. Niecey and Vernita were always very kind. Melody at the front desk was always nice and remembered my name when I walked in.
Weaknesses: We were told from the start that our insurance was accepted. Even on their own website they say Insurance Coverage for Fertility Treatment
"Aspire Fertility accepts all health insurance. If your insurer covers a fertility treatment, you will be able to choose us."
yet, they started off by telling us we were on track and then suddenly a year later , they said they DON'T accept our United Insurance. This has left us in a financial mess.
Billing has outright lied to my husband. Because of their error we are closing in on a time sensitive medication deadline for embryo transfer and I am unable to even get my prescriptions. No one will call my husband back. He was promised a call from their primary billing office in Houston last week and again a follow up today. He has called them, they have not called him back.
I have requested my medical records and embryology reports, I just want to see them. I expected that we would have this billing worked out by now, we want them to be paid. I was told that I would have those and an embryologist reach out to me today. Nothing. Even if they are going to be late, I wish they would just tell us that is what is happening. I've been sobbing for a week because I know that our future is in jeopardy. No one should have to endure this. The process is hard, but this is heartbreaking and for no reason. It isn't kind, it isn't fair, it isn't just, it isn't honest, and it's 100% the fault of billing. I place no blame on the care team. They were wonderful, but they aren't able to console me if they aren't allowed to talk to me because billing won't correspond and coordinate with my husband to reopen that line of communication. I'm sobbing as I write this now. My heart is broken. We are so very close to the goal, and now it may all be gone.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Obehi Asemota at Aspire Fertility - Dallas (Prelude Network clinic).
Since billing didn't file anything correctly and then denies the insurance was ever accepted, although we have written confirmation of such, I don't know. I just know that they won't call us back to help us settle appropriately.

Billing has literally stopped everything. What was running smoothly for the most part has grinded to a complete halt. BILLING refuses to communicate. As a result, it seems that the lab is unwilling to communicate as I was told I would hear from them today. No medical records, no embryology reports.... I literally have nothing. All I know is that I have 6 embryos waiting. No idea what grades...no idea if I will ever even get to meet them.
Dr. Asemota is a wonderful doctor. She is always open to answer questions and if she is not in the building the nurse would provide her my questions and she would email me the answer and if it was something where I needed to speak to her via phone she would call me. When I went through my miscarriage she called me in the middle of the night to check on me...I knew and understood every step.
The whole staff [at Aspire Fertility] was caring. When I was going through my miscarriage the nurse made sure she came to check on me and apologized for me going through what I was. She answered any questions I had and if she didn't have the answer she made sure she found out and got back to me...I pay through my app called Glow. The app provided discounted cost...The only weakness I noticed was when I had my d and c I was given much directions on what I need to do right after the procedure. However, when I called they made sure I understood and followed back up with me.

Dr. Asemota was wonderful to work with. She was so kind and caring and gave me hope that I could successfully have a baby one day. I really appreciate her honesty. She was so helpful and kind during all of the visits, assured me when I was nervous and emotional, and prayed for me that it would all work out. Even though my IUI was unsuccessful, she encouraged me that we could try again when we were ready. I look forward to trying again one day and hope to try IVF with her. I highly recommend her and Aspire Fertility. Everyone there was so friendly, helpful and positive. They made a very emotional experience as positive as it could be.

Dr. Asemoto suggested that I try IUI first since I had not gone through any infertility treatments yet. She was hopeful that it could work for me since my tubes were clear (I had a procedure done there to make sure that they were). She said if it did not work after 3 tries, that I should go for the IVF procedure. My insurance does not cover any procedure so any procedure is costly for me.

She [Dr. Asemota] was very upfront and compassionate about my infertility issues. She made me feel like there was hope for my situation. I always left out feeling like she had my best interest. She would always take me to her personal office to discuss my options instead of just coming into the examining room. So that always made me feel comfortable with opening up to her.
There has been a few times where I forgot what the Dr told me and I was able to reach out to Nicole [nurse at Aspire Fertility] by phone or email and she always returned my call or email immediately...Friendly and welcoming environment. All the staff are very nice. They provide snacks and drink for you and your family are waiting. If I remember correctly they even have space for children. I must admit that they are located in this huge building along with other corporate offices, where if a security guard is not sitting at the front desk when you first come in you wouldn't know how to utilize the elevator or find the company.

Describe your experience with Aspire Fertility - Dallas (Prelude Network clinic).
Friendly and welcoming environment.

I have full coverage with my insurance so our only obligation is our $30 co pay with every appointment.
I went right into IVF [with Dr. Asemota] because I had done 2 IUIs that failed at another practice. Between my failure with IUI and starting IVF I also lost a Fallopian tube...was always willing to take time to explain everything in detail and make sure I understood what was going on as well as felt comfortable...She was very kind and treated me as if I was her own daughter. She made it a point to contact me personally to go over results and make sure I was understanding everything that was going on. There were times I wanted to sit down with her to get more information and she made time to sit with me one on one.
I think the office [Aspire Fertility] overall is amazing. It’s a calm environment and everyone makes you feel welcome. They have it set up for you to have water and snacks if you want while waiting. They accommodate you and your needs to the best of their ability...Everyone that I came in contact with was great. I feel like she [Dr. Asemota] has great potentials, but her clinic was just new when I went...I specifically remember them doing a salin ultrasound and were not and don't have all the equipment to even take pictures, Obehi just wrote note down and send me to a specialist to removed pyllops. Which I feel like that I was being charge for things they were not able to perform correctly...The environment is nice and cozy, I just honestly think I went when it was too new....

I will say do you research and try to have some type of knoweledge of IVF or of whatever route you go. This will allow you to be able to advocate for yourself and ask the right questions.Aldo they will try to convince you that they are one of the cheapest but it's not true, search around. I can say they gave me a discount on my second retrevail after I negotiated.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
The clinic had just open and therefore, they where just trying to "thrive" as they would say. I remember on of the NO being so rude where my husband had to ask for a new one. It was my first ever retrieval and I didn't even know what they were checking for in the ultrasound until like after my 4th monitor appointment and the dr came in to the room and said oh your eggs are looking good. I had no Idea that my follicles is what we were watching to grow, lol.

She was the second one because the first one, who name was Sutton, Kristy, was not friendly at all. It was like a chore to ask her any question regarding my care. Hope fertility is such a small clinic, so you just get bad vibes when you complain about the one out of two Nurse Practioner, they even share the same office.
Describe your experience with Hope Fertility.
At the time I started they didn't have all the equipment hooked up, but I'm sure all that is together now, I mean the lab wasn't even completed when I first started, so I feel like I was just tagging along. The environment is nice and cozy, I just honestly think I went when it was too new. they went through a couple of front desk people in my time with them. So Celeste, which was awesome, we're doing more than one job sometimes. I learned and got more of my questions answered from Celeste and she was the office manager.

Dr Asemota cares for her patients as though they are her family and she provides direct, compassionate, competent care...She spoke with the pharmacist and made arrangements that they would not close until I arrived...I have never even heard of a physician being that engaged towards your needs but SHE is ALL IN!...you could have your labs drawn in her clinic or at an outside clinic. The process was very easy, smooth, and understandable

The world talks about nurses and physicians as patient advocates. I truly see Dr Asemota as the advocate for my family...even though I do not have the entire family born just yet. She gave me confidence in her and myself, a realistic viewpoint, and treated me as though nothing was more important than me and the family I so long for.
I have referred every friend I have (and acquaintance) that seeks consultation or more to her - both in state and out of state. She is just that good and her care is just that necessary. I trust her with my family and I believe you should trust her with yours as well.

Describe the protocols Obehi Asemota used in your cycles at Hope Fertility and their degree of success.
I do not remember my specific protocols but I do remember that I took a specific regimen based on labs and obtained labs essentially once or twice a week thereafter to titrate the medications appropriately. This was made very easy because you could have your labs drawn in her clinic or at an outside clinic.
The process was very easy, smooth, and understandable.
I will share one thing specifically. I needed an induction dose of something (sorry, don't remember the name of the med) but it needed to be compounded I believe. I went to a pharmacy to pick it up and the pharmacy alerted me that 1) they do not make this medication and 2) the place that does is 45min away and they close in 30min. Dr Asemota was on it! She spoke with the pharmacist and made arrangements that they would not close until I arrived 67 minutes later (bad traffic!). I have never even heard of a physician being that engaged towards your needs but SHE is ALL IN!
