Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Dr. Gindoff is very honest and candid about the fertility industry and procedures...never out to "rip you off" and was very blunt about my AMH and not in a fear-mongering way...30 years of experience and uses science to back everything up...I appreciate that he didn't want to use drugs initially and we agreed we would change the protocol if we didn't have success...asked him about certain supplements and he's told me that the supplements I've mentioned won't hurt me, but that there isn't any credible studies to back them up. We appreciate the realness.
The nursing staff [at Chelsea Fertility of NYC] can seem a little flustered at times, but never without a smile. They take the time to really explain things to you. I also commend them on their blood draws - I've never had a painful experience with a blood draw from any of the nursing staff. With as many times as you will get poked, this was a big deal for me...small waiting area and sometimes a small wait to be seen.
How was your experience with Paul Gindoff at Chelsea Fertility of NYC?
Dr. Gindoff is very honest and candid about the fertility industry and procedures. He is never out to "rip you off" and was very blunt about my AMH and not in a fear-mongering way. My husband and I appreciate that he has around 30 years of experience and uses science to back everything up. I've asked him about certain supplements and he's told me that the supplements I've mentioned won't hurt me, but that there isn't any credible studies to back them up. We appreciate the realness.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Paul Gindoff at Chelsea Fertility of NYC?
Dr. Gindoff is very candid and trustworthy. He uses science and his years of teaching to back everything he does. Come to your appointments with a list of questions and he will answer them all thoroughly with no sugar coating, which is what you absolutely need during this tough time in your life.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Paul Gindoff at Chelsea Fertility of NYC?
I felt like a human with Dr. Gindoff because he always took his time and explained things to me in a thoughtful manner. I never felt rushed, and he had even extended our meeting time to ensure all of my questions were answered. The staff is always warm and welcoming when you arrive.
Describe the protocols Paul Gindoff used in your cycles at Chelsea Fertility of NYC and their degree of success.
We did an IUI cycle without drugs to increase follicles for our first treatment since I ovulate on my own every month. We triggered with Ovidrel once my follicle was big enough and inseminated the day after trigger. I appreciate that he didn't want to use drugs initially and we agreed we would change the protocol if we didn't have success.

Describe your experience with Chelsea Fertility of NYC.
The strengths of the clinic are the staff and Dr. Gindoff. The weakness is perhaps the small waiting area and sometimes a small wait to be seen. The waiting area is a non-issue for me because I feel like I am in great hands with Dr. Gindoff and his nurses.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Paul Gindoff at Chelsea Fertility of NYC.
My IUI was covered by my insurance and I had a copay of less than $50. The sperm analysis was not covered by insurance and it was under $200. HSG had to be done off-site and insurance covered all but $800 of that test.
Describe Paul Gindoff's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Chelsea Fertility of NYC.
I don't have any comments because we have not done IVF, yet.

During IUI, Dr. Gindoff monitored me every 2 days while on Letrozole and advised me when to do my trigger shot and when to come back in for the IUI...Dr. Gindoff is very knowledgeable and precise. He answers all my questions about "wives tales" and leaves me feeling comfortable. He knows when I am upset & having a bad day and takes me time to explain things to me and comfort me.
If you want a clinic where you feel like a patient and not like a lab rat, go to Chelsea. They are able to spend time with you and better yet remember you. I would take note that most appointments are after 9:30 in the AM and before 2PM so it is not the most convenient if you are working...Chelsea Fertility knows the name the minute you walk into their practice. The entire facility is very personable and it is always easy to get a call back from the doctor or a nurse when you have questions. We are on IUI #3 but always feel at home while at Chelsea.

The nurses at Chelsea are fantastic, often times after the doctor leaves the room they stay behind just to answer questions and to see how you are feeling. They are extremely helpful working insurance and your insurance preferred pharmacies.

Doctor [Dr. Gindoff] spent enough time with us to answer our questions in a frank way... He is very knowledgeable but sometimes won’t let you finish your question before answering. He is prepared to find the answer for you. You just need to tell him what you need and he will explain...Low AMH so high doses of menopur and follistim. 8 days of stim. Fresh transfer after 3 days.
Transferred two embryos [at Chelsea Fertility of NYC] due to my age and low AMH levels/probable low egg quality...Busy clinic but mostly on time. The financial team could do a Better job with explaining costs up front. IVF cycle costs are slightly cheaper but there are always ‘add ons’ as you go through the cycle. Reception staff great...Dr Gindoff was absent and we saw his colleague. They provided conflicting information on retrieval for fresh vs frozen transfer.

[Dr. Paul R Gindoff was] Experienced and straightforward, kind and caring. He took the time to explain the process and answer my questions. Some days he was more rushed than others but he always treated me with kindness. He was very thorough and on time. He handled retrievals and transfers very well, spoke to me before and after every procedure to make sure I was comfortable and understood.
Strengths [For Raveco- Forest Hills] are that it is a small clinic, so you don’t feel like a number. Wait times aren’t long and you always see your doctor. Doctors are always available to talk Weaknesses are that nursing staff is small so they may seem rushed.... One nurse in particular was amazing - Elaine. The others were ok, but clearly rushed and didn’t take much time to make me comfortable the Elaine did.
