How was your experience with Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility?
Dr Saadat chooses his words carefully and doesn't pressure into treatment. He has an assuring and calming presence.
Thus far I have seen him twice in person for a consultation and tests, and spoke twice with him over the phone.
Ultrasounds performed by him are done with female nurse chaperones in the room.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility?
I highly recommend taking the courses at FertilityIQ before a consultation with any doctor. It is imperative to know what questions to ask.
I had two consultations with Dr Saadat one year apart. After my initial attempt to wrap my head around the process of egg freezing and finding a clinic and doctor that I like, I was so overwhelmed, I had to take a break and focus on myself. I would have saved myself a whole year, had I educated myself first with objective information, which would have kept me grounded during unpleasant test results.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility?
I have reached out to six clinics asking for statistics information on success rates for egg thawing and blast conversion. Out of those six, only two responded without requiring a paid consultation appointment to receive their success rates. Of those two, only one responded within a day (the second one took over two weeks to respond).
Everyone at the Reproductive Fertility clinic has continued to be attentive to my questions, and I have never felt pressured to start treatment.
Describe the protocols Peyman Saadat used in your cycles at Reproductive Fertility and their degree of success.
Dr Saadat suggests quite a long list of supplements to take to improve the egg quality. They are not patient specific. I am not entirely comfortable with that approach, and will be modifying based on what I know I have a poor reaction to.
Outside of that, for the egg freezing cycle, I was prescribed: Gonal F, Menopur, Leuprolide, Medrol, doxycycline, tamoxifen, Provera.
I did not discuss the strategy with Dr Saadat. Once he comes up with the treatment protocol, he sends it to the nurse practitioner, and she forwards the prescription to the pharmacy.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Silvia)
The nursing staff is pleasant to communicate with in person.
So far, I have only communicated with Silvia over email. She is pleasant and responds to my numerous questions promptly.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Fertility.
This is a small clinic in comparison to some of the behemoths out there. As such, there is no online patient portal to log into, review test results in, or make payments. Instead you have to call, make requests, and mail checks.
On the flip side of that, you receive a much more persona, compassionate, and kind treatment than is available out there.
The patient coordinator, Melissa, is an incredible asset to the team. She is very helpful in figuring out financing options.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility.
$10,500 for a single egg-freezing cycle
$3381 for meds
Additional costs for the initial consultation and tests
Dr. Saadat is extremely kind and gentle...He is a calm, confident, but humble doctor that does everything with care, compassion, and full dedication for each patient. I have always seen him as a person that LOVES what he does and is always positive and hopeful. He makes you feel unique and important. He is an extraordinary, knowledgeable, and kind human being...He made the process feel so natural and simple, it gave me hope. I NEVER felt judged by Dr. Saadat, like I had with other doctors.
The [Reproductive Fertility] clinic is great. Small and personal. Not massive and overwhelming. You're never treated as a number here. The place is well organized and clean. Nobody seems stressed out or in a rush. The hallways of the building are not the most inviting, but once you cross Dr. Saadat's office doors, the place is well lit and inviting, with a great view of Sunset Blvd...I hope anybody struggling with infertility could find as caring a doctor as Doctor Peyman Saadat.

Dr. Saadat is extremely kind and gentle. The best bedside manners! He is always calm and happy, which gives you hope. He always has time to answer your questions even when he is super busy. He never makes you feel like he has no time for you.
He saw a lesion on my uterus that was overlooked by a previous doctor. Once he removed that, he took the time to come back to the room and explain what he did, how he did it, and accompanied the explanation with the pictures he took during procedure.
He goes through every detail of your treatment, thoroughly.
His enthusiasm is contagious.
I was nervous at first when I went to see him after many years of failed attempts at pregnancy at another clinic. He made the process feel so natural and simple, it gave me hope. I NEVER felt judged by Dr. Saadat, like I had with other doctors.
There is not enough praise I can give about doctor Saadat.
I am now pregnant with twins at my very first attempt with him and his wonderful personnel.
He even gave me much less medications than other fertility clinics. It all seemed so fast and smooth.
I hope anybody struggling with infertility could find as caring a doctor as Doctor Peyman Saadat.

I've done these treatments in other places before. His prices are average. Some things a bit more expensive, but worth every penny!
Describe Peyman Saadat's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Fertility.
Doctor Saadat chose what he considered best for me, but also took my feelings into account. I couldn't be happier with his decision.
Dr. Saadat always answered my questions completely. He was kind and explained everything that was going on as well every every step of the process. He did not ever make me feel rushed or that any of my questions were unacceptable. I saw him at every appointment...I am a surrogate. So the treatment included: heparin, injectable progesterone in oil, progesterone suppositories and estrogen tablets. We had a successful transfer the first try. Dr. Saadat always made sure I understood my medications and when to start/administer them.
I think that the strengths [of Reproductive Fertility] are that they are kind and very thorough. Every one there is very easy to talk to and makes the process so easy to walk through...Tasha was my coordinator and I could not imagine a better person to help me through this process. She was attentive, thorough, always available for any questions or concerns. Tasha made sure I was comfortable with any new information and always made sure that I knew if I had any questions how to get a hold of her.

Describe Peyman Saadat's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Fertility.
We only transferred one embryo and it was successful.

Dr. Saadat is the most compassionate and caring Doctor I have had, in any type of medical care. He gives his FULL attention, answers your questions in detail and makes sure you are involved and part of each decision and step. I cannot say it enough - he is extremely kind and patient.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility?
Dr. Saadat gives complete answers to questions, for each patient and so occasionally he m ight be running just a bit behind schedule but never more than 15 min - at least in my experience

Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Silvia)
Silvia is amazing. I don't think I am an easy patient, and I know that I called and emailed Silvia almost every day, sometimes multiple times. Not only did she respond promptly, but she never made me feel like i was bothering her or that my questions were silly. i was so comfortable with her that i wish she was going to be at my ob/gyn office!
Describe your experience with Reproductive Fertility.
This is a pretty new location I think for this office and it is gorgeous, right on sunset. The office is big enough that I felt like i was getting the latest treatment options that are available, but small enought that I saw my dr, Dr. Saadat at each visit. He did ALL my ultrasounds
Describe the costs associated with your care under Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility.

I saw him [Dr. Peyman Saadat] at every visit, he was gentle and compassionate and understanding and very patient - I had multiple quesitons and sometimes i was asking the same questions each visit and he always had time to talk and explain and keep us involved every step of the way...adjusted the medication dosage during my 2nd cycle based on whatever he saw in my monitoring labs. In addition, he added an infusion on the day of transfer, which noone else suggested. Whatever he did was successful, we are pregnant and I am due in a few months!!
The amazing thing about this office [Reproductive Fertility] is that it is small enough that you will see the doctor every visit, and the same faces every visit, but big enough to have the most up to date knowledge and techniques, as well as using a new state of the art embryology lab in the same building...come early to your appointments to find street parking...
How was your experience with Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility?
As i mentioned, I have been to a couple of other offices prior to coming here and my experience was completely different with Dr. Saadat. Describe the costs associated with your care under Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility.
We were cash patients, and when we met with the financial coordinator everything was explained in detail. our financial agreement laid out all the costs in detail, and the reason for each procedure was thoroughly explained
Dr. Sadaat always made sure I was completely aware of what was happening, and was very thorough in answering my questions most of the time...the monitoring appointments during the cycle were always with Dr. Saadat...I felt like I didn't get a consultation or explanation about why that happened and what we could do differently, we just launched into the next round of treatment.
The nursing staff [at Reproductive Fertility] is fantastic, especially at the Riverside office. They seem to remember everything about your case, and are so responsive answering questions. They are always very friendly and compassionate when you come into the office...Some strengths include the response time when you have questions, the offices being very clean and nice, and the availability of appointments.
How was your experience with Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility?
Dr. Saadat is very good at his job - there were times I had concerns about my lining not being thick enough, not absorbing enough of the progesterone supplements, etc, and he always had a solution to change things up a bit. And when he did change things (for example my type of trigger shot) he took the time to explain why and how to use this new method. The only time I felt confused was after my chemical pregnancy. It must have been a really busy day, but I felt like I didn't get a consultation or explanation about why that happened and what we could do differently, we just launched into the next round of treatment.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility?
Stay on top of asking questions, and if you feel like you didn't get to do so during your appointment, the clinic is great with following up when you call or send emails.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility?
Dr. Sadaat always made sure I was completely aware of what was happening, and was very thorough in answering my questions most of the time. There were a few times that I felt confused by the information I was given though, and I had to follow up afterwards to clarify.
Describe the protocols Peyman Saadat used in your cycles at Reproductive Fertility and their degree of success.
The first IUI was done with a low dose of Clomid. I produced two mature follicles and used the Ovidrel trigger. I was also given progesterone vaginal suppositories to use after the IUI. This round was unsuccessful, but the donor sperm count was not very good. The second IUI cycle was done with a higher dose of Clomid, and again the Ovidrel trigger. I believe I had two mature follicles as well. This resulted in a chemical pregnancy. When I had my progesterone tested during the beta HCG testing, it was found to be on the low end, so I switched to injectible progesterone just before we found out the pregnancy was chemical. The third cycle was an even higher dose of Clomid, I believe I had 2 or 3 follicles, and used a different kind of Trigger (Pregnyl). I took the injectable progesterone and my levels were better, however the IUI was unsuccessful.

Describe your experience with Reproductive Fertility.
Some strengths include the response time when you have questions, the offices being very clean and nice, and the availability of appointments. I also liked how, except for one ultrasound because I didn't have time to travel to a different office, the monitoring appointments during the cycle were always with Dr. Saadat. The clinic has good success rates from what I've heard, so I'm hopeful it will happen for us. One thing I would ask them to improve on is it make sure to offer a sit down consultation after something like a chemical pregnancy, as not everyone understands what has happened and may need assurance about what to do going forward.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility.
I paid out of pocket, about $1300 per IUI. The initial ultrasound during my consultation was also an extra $75.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Reproductive Fertility.
When COVID-19 started out I wasn't contacted to rearrange an upcoming appointment. I understand that this is an unusual circumstance though.
As we were using donor sperm, we went straight to IUI [with Dr. Peyman Saadat]. We used clomid, and when it was unsuccessful the first time, the dose was increased. The second resulted in a chemical pregnancy. After the third cycle, with another increased dose, was unsuccessful we decide to move forward with injectibles for the next IUI round which is in progress...At times when the clinic was very busy I felt like my chart was not reviewed before the appointment, but other times Dr. Sadaat was very thorough and informative. I do understand this though, and was able to ask questions I wanted answers to. The support staff are always fantastic and helpful.
The nursing staff [at Reproductive Fertility] are excellent - they are so kind and compassionate, and quick to answer any questions. This is especially true of the Riverside/Glendora staff who we primarily worked with. The first cycle required a lot of information about the medication and timing, how to give injections, etc and they made sure we were well informed and prepared...Each IUI was around $1200...Overall the clinic is great - they are good communicators and they clearly know what they are doing. I have hope that we will be successful with them soon. The only negative thing I really have to say is be careful not to make patients feel rushed. This didn't happen often, and we understand there are busy days, but these days make you feel very discouraged as a patient dealing with infertility.
How was your experience with Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility?
Dr. Sadaat is very knowledgeable and thorough. At times he can make you feel rushed at your ultrasound appointments, but if you slow down and ask questions he is sure to give you thorough answers. He also listens closely to any concerns you may have and tries to address them.

I think we paid about 300 for the initial consult and ultrasound/AMH test. Then we arranged to have the required blood tests through our primary care doctor so that was covered under insurance. Each IUI was around $1200.

Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Fertility.
The nursing staff at the Riverside, CA location were amazing. They helped break down the IVF process and made me feel comfortable at every visit. They were experts at drawing blood, educating me on the injecting process, and sorting out all billing questions.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Reproductive Fertility.
Two days prior to my egg retrieval procedure, I was seen in the LA office on Saturday for a final ultrasound and to receive medication for my egg retrieval process scheduled on Monday. I had an issue with the instructions and medication I received and called the clinic for clarification but wasn’t able to get a hold of anyone. I was instead connected to an after-hours messaging system and left an urgent message but didn’t receive a callback. As I wasn’t able to get clarification from the clinic about how to administer one of the medications needed for the retrieval, I had to call a third-party service for guidance. That was the only issue I encountered during the entire IVF process. Everything still turned out successful.

How was your experience with Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility?
Dr. Saadat did all of my ultrasounds so I could ask questions easily during my appointments. (I had a different clinic where only ultrasound techs did ultrasounds and most would tell you nothing during your appointment and you have to wait for the doctor to review and call you before you know anything.) I often thought of questions as I was walking out and he would answer them. Dr. Saadat can also speak by phone if you call the office and set a time.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility?
Make sure you understand his schedule as he is only in certain locations once a week so if you are choosing him based on location, you may be driving to the main office in West Hollywood more than you expect.

Describe the protocols Peyman Saadat used in your cycles at Reproductive Fertility and their degree of success.
Mine was some sort of micro dose lupron flare with a high dose of Gonal-F (375 or 300 daily), Menopur (1 vial) and microdose lupron. I started out very slow and my cycle was potentially going to be canceled because I was not responding to the medications initially. Eventually I had 7 follicles but my estradiol was still low at retrieval and I had just 3 mature eggs. For a second cycle, Dr Saadat was going to change up the whole protocol to get a different response, but I didn’t end up doing a second cycle.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Fertility.
My primary nurse changed during my cycle. Both were very nice, but seemed incredibly busy. Not sure if they are overworked or have too many patients but I sometimes felt like I was bothering them. As the cycle progressed and I developed a relationship with them, it improved.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Reproductive Fertility.
Test results from either my or my husband’s files were missing or not requested so there was a stressful scramble right before the cycle was due to begin that didn’t need to happen. I was told if the results didn’t come in from the other doctors that my cycle would be postponed so I had to track down all of the records myself.
Dr. Saadat was very straight forward and I appreciate that. He was also supportive of my decision not to have fibroid surgery, mainly because he had me do a second HSG (? not sure this is the right description), and the results indicated the cavity of my uterus was clear of fibroids and that the fibroids were mainly in the wall of the uterus. The other doctors I had seen insisted on fibroid surgery and did not explain the situation about the fibroids in my uterus as he did. His willingness to support my decision and to explain these things were very helpful to me.
[Reproductive Fertility-West Hollywood is] Very organized. Though I think it would be wise for this clinic, actually any clinic to have a few therapists on staff in order to provide more emotional support. At times, the finance department seemed to lack my insurance info, and got it mixed up a few times. And this was disappointing... r. Saadat has two offices. One in Burbank and the other on West L.A. He is only in Burbank once a week. Burbank is much closer to me, and driving all the way to the Westside was challenging. So I would advise them of the logistics, because I feel you need to be able to balance life as best as possible to avoid stress. Entertaining, and/or go through fertility treatment is stressful enough.

His willingness to support my decision and to explain these things were very helpful to me.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility?
Dr.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility?
Dr. Saadat and his staff were always very supportive, available, encouraging, and helpful.
Describe the protocols Peyman Saadat used in your cycles at Reproductive Fertility and their degree of success.
He and his nurses were very specific about how to and how often to inject the hormones. They checked my progesterone levels carefully and made sure I was at the right level to help maintain the pregnancy.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Liz Mendoza)
They were always prompt to call back or email back quickly, which gave me reassurance of their care.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Fertility.
Very organized. Though I think it would be wise for this clinic, actually any clinic to have a few therapists on staff in order to provide more emotional support.
At times, the finance department seemed to lack my insurance info, and got it mixed up a few times. And this was disappointing.
Describe Peyman Saadat's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Fertility.
I trusted his suggestion to transfer one single embryo. He strongly felt it was best due to the fibroids in my uterine lining. I was a little disappointed about this. Mainly because I wanted to give our family the best chance to get pregnant, and thought transferring two would be best. But I am glad I followed his advise. Though at the time, I was nervous about it.
Dr. Saadat saw me for every single visit. He took time each visit to ASK if I had questions and then answer them so I understood. He called me with results, included my husband and I in the decision making process, and never made us feel like we were bothering him. He is truly warm and caring, which makes this whole experience so much easier...My protocol was agonist down reg. This was different than what the other clinics had done.
Elizabeth [nurse at Reproductive Fertility Center] was so warm and caring right from the start. She is incredibly patient and for the first time in this whole journey, I had a nurse that explained my calendar and instructions to me so that I got it. And still was patient when I called with a million questions. She was genuinely so happy when she called with the positive pregnancy result, it was like I was talking to my sister

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility Center?
I would make sure you take advantage of his willingness to answer questions. During an IVF cycle you can get pretty forgetful, at least I did, so it was a relief that he never got aggravated when I would ask the same question.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility Center?
All the nurses knew my name, my husbands name and we were greeted warmly every time, both in person and on the phone. The office really cared. Dr. Saadat always remembered us as well, and we never felt rushed. We saw him for every visit. He did all the ultrasounds himself.
Describe the protocols Peyman Saadat used in your cycles at Reproductive Fertility Center and their degree of success.

Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Fertility Center. (Assigned nurse: Elizabeth, but all the nurses were great!)

Describe your experience with Reproductive Fertility Center.
The clinic is amazing. Staff, all of the staff, are friendly and warm and knowledgeable. Everyone there is pulling for you, and that really helps. You feel very emotionally supported. Office is beautiful. The only downside is parking is expensive, but what can you expect in West Hollywood. Try to find street parking if you can.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Reproductive Fertility Center.
Monitoring appointments, unlike other clinics, are scheduled when it fits into the patients schedule, as long as that will be okay for the cycle. In other words, anytime in the morning works if we need results same day. Later in the day is fine if the Doctor can wait for results the next morning. There is no set time, so its never like a cattle call.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility Center.
IVF cycle was pretty typical for the area. About 10K plus medication. PGS added to the cost, but it is optional.
Describe Peyman Saadat's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Fertility Center.
Dr. Saadat discussed everything with us, both pros and cons of single vs multiple
We initially went to him [Dr. Peymen Sadaat] because of his high success rate, however upon further research, I believe his success rate is due to the fact that he is willing to transfer high numbers of embryos (more than 2-3) and do selective fetal reduction...When we asked what his plan would be moving forward he suggested going back to my original protocol- which didn't give me a good response either. When he said that I knew he wasn't motivated to find us a protocol that would be right for us, but just wanted to run us through cycles... told me that because I was anxious I wouldn't get a good response.
I have concerns about the way in which they [Reproductive Fertility Center] label the eggs and embryos. When I asked them about it so they could explain their process I was told to not worry about it and that I must "watch too much 60 minutes" if I am concerned about mislabeling the eggs after retrieval...I was extremely anxious regarding my egg retrieval and was desperately needing reassurance. The nurses were not kind or compassionate. I mentioned this to Dr. Saadat who told me that it was because I "made everyone anxious" by being anxious myself...One of the medical staff members lost my husband's urine sample for STI testing and they never acknowledged the mistake or apologized, even though I had to drive into the clinic to bring another sample.
How was your experience with Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility?
We switched to Dr. Saadat after a failed cycle with another doctor. He started off great with a new protocol that he believed would improve the number of eggs retrieved. It failed to do so. When we asked what his plan would be moving forward he suggested going back to my original protocol- which didn't give me a good response either. When he said that I knew he wasn't motivated to find us a protocol that would be right for us, but just wanted to run us through cycles.
He blamed me for a lot of things that went wrong during the cycle- told me that because I was anxious I wouldn't get a good response. When our transfer failed to produce a positive pregnancy test he asked me if I had been constipated and if I had "strained" during my TWW--- again, blaming me for the failure, even though we all know that wouldn't cause an embryo not to implant! We initially went to him because of his high success rate, however upon further research, I believe his success rate is due to the fact that he is willing to transfer high numbers of embryos (more than 2-3) and do selective fetal reduction.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility?
Do not go to this doctor.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility?
I didn't feel like I was treated like a number or a human. I felt that I was treated like an inconvenience and that they had other patients they would have preferred to help.
Describe the protocols Peyman Saadat used in your cycles at Reproductive Fertility and their degree of success.
We used a micro dose lupron flare protocol because we were told it would be beneficial with low ovarian reserve. I had a pretty poor response and the follicles didn't grow at the same rate. 6 were retrieved, 2 mature, 2 premature and 2 post mature. We also used human growth hormone (every other day) and tamoxifen (but I was never told why, even though I asked)
Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Fertility.
The nursing staff seems to be very young and inexperienced. My primary nurse was not a great communicator, always sounded nervous when she called me, which in turn made me feel nervous about if things were on the right track. I would ask her to leave detailed messages with my actual lab results on my voicemail, instead I would get messages that said "everything looks good"- even though I repeatedly told her I wanted to know my numbers.
Early in my cycle I was concerned my E2 levels weren't rising fast enough, based on my past experience with side effects I am pretty good at determining my if my E2 is rising or falling. When I told one of the nurses I wanted my E2 levels drawn because of the side effects I was experiencing she said "well did you read the consent forms, because those side effects are normal" It was really rude and didn't take into consideration any of my personal experience with these medications. (Turns out my E2 levels were rising but not nearly the amount they did with my past stimulation cycle)
One of the medical staff members lost my husband's urine sample for STI testing and they never acknowledged the mistake or apologized, even though I had to drive into the clinic to bring another sample.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Fertility.
This clinic is full of clients who are having second (or third or fourth babies) and there is no rule against bringing your children with you to your appointment. Most IVF clinics I have seen have signs that say "due to the delicate nature of our patients, please do not bring children with you to your appointment." Not so with this clinic! People bring their children of all ages (toddler to school age) to their appointments. When I mentioned it to the staff I was told "don't let it bother you."
The clinic's strength is that there is an in-house acupuncturist and that he's pretty much the only one with any empathy.
The surgery center used for retrievals and transfers is partially owned by Dr. Saadat and those nurses are not at all warm or friendly. I have concerns about the way in which they label the eggs and embryos. When I asked them about it so they could explain their process I was told to not worry about it and that I must "watch too much 60 minutes" if I am concerned about mislabeling the eggs after retrieval. They do not allow you to have a support person with you pre-op or post-op, which I have never, ever seen in any other surgical setting. I was extremely anxious regarding my egg retrieval and was desperately needing reassurance. The nurses were not kind or compassionate. I mentioned this to Dr. Saadat who told me that it was because I "made everyone anxious" by being anxious myself. This is not acceptable in my opinion- the nursing staff should be available to help calm patient's anxieties prior to a procedure, not blame the patient for being nervous.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Peyman Saadat at Reproductive Fertility.
I was able to use partial insurance coverage for my cycle, however the entire billing situation was very confusing and I still am not certain what part we paid for.
Describe Peyman Saadat's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Fertility.
From what I understand, if you're ok with selective fetal reduction, he'll transfer quite a few.
What specific things went wrong at Reproductive Fertility?
Lost paperwork
Failed to call with results
Lost or damaged samples
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Reproductive Fertility.
They lost my husband's urine sample for STI testing.
Getting my records from them was a nightmare. I sent a release of information form for myself and my husband. At first they only sent me partial records for myself. I sent another request for my full records and my husbands records. Then they sent me more records, but they were scanned in upside down and running off the page. It took several requests for me to finally get all my husband's records and most of mine. I requested my intra-operative records multiple times and they failed to tell me that they don't keep intra-operative records in the clinic and that I needed to contact their surgical facility.
I finally spoke to the clinic manager who was very defensive when I brought up the fact that I was concerned that records were upside down, running off the page, and incomplete. She said that they weren't "the ones being obnoxious" -meaning that I was being obnoxious by requesting full results that were scanned properly. And yes, she actually said the word "obnoxious".
Dr Sadat is very warm and accommodating to financial concerns. He doesn’t insist on doing the tests at his facility if you can get a better deal somewhere else... is one of the nicest doctors I’ve seen. He really seems to want his patients to have children. I’ve been to other doctors who treated me like someone they were just getting money from. He’s very calm and kind...he’s not always available at the clinic patients usually go to. His main office is in West Hollywood and that’s far for me.
Tina and Anna [nurses at Reproductive Fertility] are super nice. I saw them the most. They seem to care about you...I did ivf mini cycles...The ivf cycles were about $8000 not including meds...I wish the Glendora office had more appointments available...They’re there just once a week. However they do have a location in riverside and that wasn’t nearly as bad as going to West Hollywood...Dr Sadat is very warm and accommodating to financial concerns. He [Dr. Saadat] did talk about my ultrasounds while i was there but didnt really understand it...This was my first time ever getting my fertility tested, at the age of 36 i was nervous. It was clear, but it was somewhat routine, i dont entirely understand the results, lacked some detail. I emailed asking for my results bit have no idea what they mean looking at it myself so i do feel a little hazing in terms of what they are it was very quick in and out
Slow to reply to questions via email. Had to call up to get results to which they couldnt give me answers to the questions i had. Again felt very routine for them, maybe forgetting that since they know everything patients need it explained more in depth and simply...It was $300 which i expected.’i had researched and found this was the general Price

For me I had the consultation with Dr. Sadaat and he asked me a lot of questions about my cycle health and then gave me a list of all the test that I needed to have done. It was a lot of blood work such as: Rubella, FSH, HIV 1&2, TSH, LH, Prolactin, Progesterone, Testosterone, HSG, Chromosome Analysis, and MTHFR DNA Mutation. Then once all of my test was in and everything was good then Dr. Sadaat informed me on what my treatment would be going forward. I decided to do the IUI because I already know I could get pregnant but didn't know why I was having miscarriages. I moved forward with my treatment and which included me taking clomid for twice a day for seven days started on the 3rd day of my cycle. Also had to scan my follicles on day one of my cycle to see how many follicles I had at the time. After my cycle went off then I had to go into the doctors office every other day to check my follicle growth. After so many follicle scans and once they reach the size of 20MM it was a go for insemination to happen. 24 or 30 hours before insemination I had to inject myself with the Ovidrel shot (trigger shot) in order for me to ovulate. At that time of insemination the sperm is supposed to meet the egg. From there I had to wait 2 weeks to check my beta. At that time I found out I was pregnant but very low positive. Dr. Sadaat then put me on progesterone pills because it was low and he also informed me it could be a possibility of having a miscarriage. A couple days later I had my 2nd beta test and my numbers didn't double at all. A few days after I started to bleed and passing big blood clots. I had lost my baby. It was confirmed at my 3rd beta test no longer pregnant.

Dr. Saadat is an amazing doctor. I have never felt rushed or like a number. He takes his time and is a great with communication. I have done 2 successful transfers with him. And would recommend him to anyone...has taken time to elaborate on answers to all mine and my husband's questions. We have never felt rushed...You will never be in the dark and always feel heard...there for you whenever you need anything.
I can't say enough good things about Reproductive Fertility. You never have to worry about not being able to get ahold of someone or being uncertain about what to expect. Everyone in the office makes you feel welcomed and like family. The only thing I would add for improvement would be to possibly establish a riverside office for embryo implanting. Their one in LA takes almost 3 hours to get to during traffic. When getting to riverside only takes around 30-40 mins.

[Dr. Sadaat] is an amazing Dr who cares for his patients. He would call and check in on me during my pregnancy and is a positive upbeat person. He truly cares about his patients and their success in achieving the goal of becoming parents. His demeanor as a DR is what brought me back here to do IVF a second time...He and his office staff are very compassionate and made me feel like family the first time and this time as well. I moved to Oklahoma and came back to LA because I couldn't imagine having this experience with anyone else.
[Reproductive Fertility has] the set up to do a majority of everything you could need done under one roof which is great compared to some of the stories I’ve heard about other clinics...The office is always clean and the staff are very friendly. Every single person is greeted as they come in the door. I have never been made to feel like less of a person or I would not have traveled 1700 miles to come back. Everyone was even patient when I was having an anxiety attack trying to get details hashed out before I made the trip.

dr. saadat had me use injectable medication but it was a different calendar than what i used at my other clinics. also, i did more ultrasounds this ivf cycle with dr. saadat and twice i had to adjust my medication based on what he saw in my labwork and ultrasaound...Dr. Saadat has 3 offices, so you may have to visit a different location if your appointment falls on a day he is not in the main office...
every time i came in to the office [Reproductive Fertility] i was warmly welcomed. the whole team is very responsive to questions and concerns...The downside would be that the parking at the main office in west hollywood is insanely expensive, and the clinic does not validate, so you will pay like $25 for parking each visit, unless you come early and find street parking...about 21k including medication here with Dr. Saadat. this was for a ivf and 2 transfers one fresh one frozen...

Describe the protocols Peyman Saadat used in your cycles at Reproductive Fertility Center and their degree of success.
I dont remember the specifics of our process but we had to start with sperm analysis and egg retrieval. My wife had to do a minor surgery to clear up her uterus for any transfers of embryos. She had to take a list of medications and shots to prepare her for the egg retrieval and transfer of embryos. The medication continued from there as she had to limit her activity for maximum healing and embryo implantation.
