How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr. Parry is very intelligent and speaks in terms of statistics very frequently. Sometimes that can seem daunting, especially if you are on the wrong side of those statistics like me and trying for your first child after the age of 40. I appreciate the statistical data and I always want my doctor to be very blunt rather than to sugar-coat anything. I tend to want to operate my base from what’s the worst that could happen or just how low are my chances to be successful. I also utilize my faith that God will also always have the final say no matter what stats I fall into. Dr. Parry is great at giving me the information I want (with intricate details and examples which I appreciate) and even when it doesn’t seem that great, he outlines a plan how I can change some of my factors to help improve my chances at success and he also lets me know when different tests or procedures show that I am increasing my chances at success. Dr. Parry doesn’t just placate me or tell me what I want to hear. Dr. Parry can be blunt or matter-of-fact, so when he does use my results or utilize his background experience & knowledge to give me a boost or a positive indicator that things are going well and I still have a chance, it makes it so much easier to trust and believe. Dr. Parry has never made me feel that my questions are too crazy or dumb or intricate or strange or anxiety-riddled, each and every one of them he has stopped and answered as complete as possible. One of the hardest things about infertility is the fact that so much is just unknown and will remain unknown during each and every attempt and sadly some of it will never be explained or figured out and can haunt you forever, but it’s a little easier to deal with knowing Dr. Parry is in your corner. I used to think that if I had unlimited funds and access to all the testing & procedures that I wanted then I would find the “answer” as to why I can get pregnant, but not keep it. At age 41, I’m pretty positive the last 5 years and 6 miscarriages were all just due to egg-quality & my age and kinda wish I would have went ahead and jumped past the Femara and then the IUI and just went straight to IVF when I was younger because age trumps everything. Dr. Parry met with me and allowed me to input what I wanted to try for first and met me in the middle with what treatments we would do. I also thoroughly appreciated that he didn’t just turn me away because I was super morbidly obese at the beginning with him in 2019. However, Dr. Parry also let me know that I wasn’t a candidate for IVF at the time and also that he wouldn’t recommend continuing IUI’s back when I wanted too - something that hurt to hear but that I greatly appreciate now because I am in a much better place now and he didn’t want to just take my money for more IUI’s in the meantime. Dr. Parry will meet you in the middle as much as possible, but it’s up to you to do your own research and also evaluate your own life, finances, and health to know what you want and what you can do in regards to your fertility endeavors.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
If you live in Mississippi, or in a state close by, a meeting with Dr. Parry is a great place to start to get a fairly in-depth initial consultation in regards to your fertility health, along with your fertility concerns, one that you just cannot get with your GYN/OB specialist or especially with your primary health PCP family doctor. Of course you can start with a Pap Smear and an appt with your OB just to be cleared and to maybe get a better understanding from them of what an RE like Dr. Parry could do for you, but Fertility is just a separate beast that needs its own specialized attention and care by a doctor totally decorated to it. It is crucial that you do your own fertility research, along with a true life, health, and financial evaluation (go ahead and start saving now), so that you know where you are and how you may get to where you hope to be. Medicine itself is always changing and infertility is so understudied and poorly treated - it’s not a journey you want to embark on unprepared or uninformed and it is most definitely a struggle that you have to have someone you trust in your corner, along with a good support system to hold you up and fight for you when you have nothing left for yourself. You never know where exactly this battle will lead you, but a beginning with Dr. Parry is a great start. Also - I would prepare myself and then conduct an initial consultation visit with Dr. Parry ($150 I think?) followed by a ParryScope ($1000 I think?) with Dr. Parry because he can check your ovaries via Ultrasound and give you an AFC (egg count for that month at that time) - which is better than a simple old-school AMH blood lab test to me, he can look at the condition of your uterus and lining via a camera from the inside, and he can check the patency (openness) of your tubes in a gentle non-painful manner (very unlike a HSG check with dye). You can use the results from the ParryScope for up to a year I believe if you want to (or if you can) proceed with IUI or IVF with Dr. Parry. Also you are awake for the ParryScope and you can watch and discuss everything he sees with your uterus, ovaries, and tubes in real time with him. Of course the initial visit and the ParryScope doesn’t tell you absolutely everything that you need to know and your own information & results can change every 90-days or even sooner, and different doctors or different procedures can have different outcomes or discoveries, but again I believe a visit and a ParryScope with Dr. Parry is a great place to start. Don’t be scared of the results, knowledge is always empowering and a plan can be made, but not if you don’t begin and get everything checked.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
It’s easy to feel like Dr. Parry’s office treats you like a human - they are very courteous, always call back the same day you call (even sometimes call back after-hours), and they are always willing to speak in detail and in depth with you during your visits. I even was able to have a FaceTime call with Dr. Parry when I was going thru a horrible miscarriage outside of his direct care and I still think of that experience and am very grateful for him doing that for me - he spoke to me for over 30 minutes and I felt like he truly cared about me and my situation which meant the world. For the last five-years, I have seen Dr. Parry and been to both his Hattiesburg satellite location and mostly his Madison main office location several times off and on. I have never felt like just another number when it comes to being treated like a human by him, he understands the delicacy of being a woman desperate to become a mother for the first time hopefully before it’s too late. The only times I felt like I needed more individualized attention or care has mostly been when it came to financial assistance - I felt like I have had to search & search on my own to try to find chances at financial assistance in regards to infertility medications / IVF, especially being from Mississippi. Unfortunately so far none have worked and Dr. Parry’s office hasn’t been able to provide me with multiple resources in regards to this endeavor, but perhaps their hands are tied. Also of note, Dr. Parry’s cost of IVF has so far been one of the lower estimates when everything is considered. Tennessee, California, New York, and Florida had cheaper initial IVF options; however, without knowing all the extra fees that are sure to come and thinking of the travel costs involved, Dr. Parry seemed cheaper in the end and more local - not to mention I already liked his office and had a relationship established where I felt like a human.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
I never got pregnant on my own after a year of trying, so at age 37, I first did Femara 5mg, taken once on days 3-7 of my cycle, with my OB and got pregnant 2 out of 3 times, but miscarried. I then moved on to Dr. Parry and because I was super morbidly obese, I could attempt IUI (three rounds only) at age 39, but not IVF. This is because his anesthetist could not put someone asleep with a high BMI (over 42? - at that time maybe I think I’m not sure) at Dr. Parry’s clinic - it was deemed too risky at my size and I didn’t want IVF just yet simply because of financial reasons. With my IUI with Dr. Parry on the first round - I again took Femara, but first at an increased dose of 2.5mg at three tablets daily (7.5 total) from cycle day 3-7 which resulted in one mature egg follicle on each ovary. Dr. Parry told me at my age we needed at least 4 follicles if not more for a chance at a normal one. Had multiple Ultrasounds, a HCG trigger shot, and my husband’s sperm (always normal count & makeup) was added by Dr. Parry. For my last 2 rounds of IUI, I was then increased again to same dose of 2.5mg at three tablets daily (7.5 total), but now from cycle day 1-8 which resulted in 2 mature follicles again for round 2 and 3 mature follicles for round 3. I used HCG trigger shot and had multiple US each time. Sometimes it was very hard to travel from Hattiesburg all the way to Madison (1 hour, 55 minutes from my house unless traffic was bad in Jackson then over 2-hours for sure) just for an Ultrasound. Dr. Parry’s NP, Brittany Linton, conducted the actual IUI insertion this time. I again got pregnant 2 out of 3 times, but 1 was chemical (never over blood HCG of 13.3) and 1 was miscarriage (blood HCG only as high as 95.3). Now at age 41, I am currently about to begin my first IVF round in January.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Positive Steps Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Vicki)
Biggest pro with nursing staff - they always call back the same day you call with any concern Biggest con with nursing staff - they do not have an electronic communication system where you can message them or access your records with them (side note: email is an option but not recommended and can prolong getting an answer or a call back, plus I think they recently changed everyone’s email address too). I know it must be easier or more shared cost-efficient for larger medical entities like HBC in Hattiesburg or UMMC in Jackson to have that type of electronic record and contact options, but I just wish Dr. Parry’s nursing staff had that too. It would save a call and time and just be nice to quickly reference my medical info. with them and to communicate with them over something like IRIS - especially this day and age. Vicki has been with Dr. Parry the longest I believe (20+ years) and she is knowledgeable and just full of personality and compassion. You can’t help but smile when you’re around her. Sometimes it does seem like she can get overwhelmed with all the patients and appointments and changes in schedules and just everything going on, but that’s expected. I do feel like Vicki genuinely cares for me and my journey which means the world. Lauren is amazing - she is extremely knowledgeable and always remembers what is going on with me - down to the details - and she also is on top of what is needed next. I don’t know if it’s because she researches my file before calling me back or makes notes on my account to help her remember, but either way when I receive a call back and hear Lauren’s voice I know I won’t have to explain too much of everything going on before getting to what I need. My first interaction with this clinic was a call with Lauren before coming for the first time and she spoke with me for over 30-minutes and I felt heard which was amazing. Dana is the only other nurse I can think of, but it’s because I didn’t really care for her interactions with me. She came across as unfeeling or maybe burned-out. I’m not sure, maybe I just caught her on a few bad days, but I get a defensive feeling when speaking with her. Two incidents stand out - one when I was miscarrying after my first IUI I think, and I wasn’t in the best mood, and Dana called to inform me of another low HCG and basically told me that miscarriage for me is just expected at this point at my age, which is absolutely correct, but hard to hear especially in the middle of bleeding from another miscarriage. Also there was another time when my TSH had gone up over 3 again (despite never having a TSH problem - always within the standard normal range, but right under 4), so I was placed on Synthroid by Dr. Parry, with the understanding that it can basically lessen the chance of miscarriage the lower my TSH is. Anyways - fast forward a few Synthroid dose increases later and suddenly my TSH dropped down to 1 - which again is totally normal, but a big drop for me after the last increase, so I called and was wondering if Dr. Parry wanted to try lowering my Synthroid dose back down a little (least invasive is always better right) and we keep watching this, plus I didn’t want to burn out my thyroid by taking medicine it never asked for at a dose it didn’t really need to just be below 2, and Dana called back and informed me Dr. Parry is fine with that much of a drop and not to check it again for a year - she also said would not be running it by him because there wasn’t any need. I thanked her and hung up and it just stayed with me for a few days … what would have been the harm in speaking with him about it, I guess it didn’t matter in the end, it just made me feel insignificant overall. I don’t know if his NP Brittany is considered part of his nursing staff but my only interaction with her was when she placed my husband’s sperm in me for one of my IUI’s. She was very nice, answered my questions, and had as positive attitude - what more can you ask for during an IUI.
Describe your experience with Positive Steps Fertility.
A strength & weakness for this clinic for me is their locations. I am grateful that sometimes Dr. Parry comes to Hattiesburg - which is much closer for me personally and I am so happy that they are even located in Mississippi to begin with - I couldn’t imagine going out-of-state, especially for something like fertility-related Ultrasounds alone. I’ve also heard that Dr. Parry goes to Gulfport now too, which is closer for me than Madison. It can just be difficult to drive the two-hours to get to their clinic; however, it’s very obvious that they are growing everyday and new satellite locations are popping up, which is a step in the right direction and hopefully one day Dr. Parry will be able to expand the satellite offices to offer more services through NP that he hires. The clinic in Madison’s strengths are also their welcoming atmosphere and beautiful office facilities - probably the most spa-like medical office I have ever been in, beautiful relaxing color schemes and lovely artwork pieces. They offer drinks and little treats which is nice as well. The clinic’s biggest weakness is that they do not have an electronic communication system where you can message them or access your records with them (side note: email is an option, but not really recommended and can prolong getting an answer or a call back, plus I think they recently changed everyone’s email address too). I know it must be easier or more shared cost-efficient for larger medical entities like HBC in Hattiesburg or UMMC in Jackson to have that type of electronic record and contact options, but I just wish Dr. Parry’s clinic had that option as a whole as well. It would save a call & time on both ends, as well as just be nice to quickly reference my medical info. with them and to communicate with them over something like IRIS or MyChart - especially this day and age.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
I can’t tell you numbers with exact specifics, but I do know an estimate and the feeling that overall, when everything was said and done, Dr. Parry’s office came with amazing care & knowledge for the best price. Keep in mind that other IVF clinics out of state may seem cheaper at first, but when you add up their “extra” fees and costs, along with travel expense, they aren’t any cheaper. We personally had to take out a home-equity line of credit, on our home, for the IVF portion and used credit cards for everything else beforehand. Infertility ate up our savings long ago. Dr. Parry’s nurse Vicki gave me paperwork with names of banks that could help me apply for loans in regard to IVF. Our insurance does NOT cover anything related to infertility diagnosis. They do take credit card payments over the phone - which was very helpful in that I didn’t have to drive 2 hours to Madison to make a very large payment - just notify my credit card company beforehand. Initial Visit 2019 around $150. ParryScope done twice at $1000 each time. IUI was done once at three rounds for about $1400 with everything considered - paid up front. One “round” IVF is estimated to be two payments of $10,000 and my IVF medications were about $7,000 total so far. Everything IVF needs to be paid for up-front before the IVF process truly starts. You also need to consider time off of work - gas money - etc. Dr. Parry’s nurse Vicki also gave me paperwork on how to apply with REUNITERX for a discount percentage on my IVF medications from the pharmacy that they use in New Jersey and that also helped with some of the cost. I have tried reaching out to manufacturers of the medications with no help and I tried finding a scholarship we would qualify for - but it never seems to workout or they require an application fee that we do not have.
Describe Preston Parry's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Positive Steps Fertility.
I have not begun IVF with Dr. Parry yet - due to start it next month January 2023
What specific things went wrong at Positive Steps Fertility?
  • Failed to call in prescriptions to pharmacy
  • Provided conflicting information
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Positive Steps Fertility.
I have had my prescriptions still be sent to a pharmacy that I chose back in 2019, despite my changing pharmacys in 2020 to the same place for the last 3 years. The nurse keeps saying she will “update my pharmacy choice” in their system, but it keeps happening so that can be a little frustrating (also something that can be fixed with the development of their own electronic medical records system that can send and receive communications from patients). However, when it happens it usually only delays me getting my prescriptions by a day or two and I account for that time now beforehand.

How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr. Preston Parry has three clinics and is extremely busy with numerous patients. I was so nervous that I wouldn't get the attention needed, but I was so impressed with Dr. Parry and his staff. Dr. Parry allotted 2 hours for my case and didn't rush me at all. He scheduled me for multiple appointments to assess some medical needs before suggesting more treatment. Each time I saw him, he remembered my exact situation and referred back to medical diagnoses. I was surprised he knew about them; that meant he really read all of my medical records! I had a panic attack in the clinic one time and the nurse on staff canceled my IUI! I was devastated but trusted her judgment. Dr. Parry called me to see if I agreed with that decision (which I didn't) and he allowed me to proceed. He then referred me to a doctor to explore what caused my "attack". He cared about each aspect of my health. I respect and appreciate his care!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
I would advise a prospective patient that Dr. Parry refers to the best economical way to proceed with treatments. For example, I have a 30% chance to become pregnant with IVF; however, per dollar, I could achieve pregnancy at a fraction of the cost with IUI, just multiple attempts. He does the math with you and explains your percentage of chance which helped my husband and I even decide to progress to IUIs again after "giving up" four years ago. He gave us hope and encouraged us to keep trying.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr. Parry is remarkable! He met me for the first time, and already knew my chart so well! He has remembered my name, medical history, and our goals. I really can't believe he is so attentive. He even called me on a Sunday to confirm my goals because he couldn't stop thinking about my case. I cannot recommend Dr. P. Parry enough!
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
Dr. Parry started off my consultation by recommending his Parryscope. It is a scope procedure to determine if your tubes are blocked. He was wanting us to continue trying naturally. Once we decided to proceed with an IUI, Dr. Parry knew from my medical records that I didn't stimulate well so he started me off on a higher dose of Letrozole during an IUI treatment. I still wasn't stimulating well, so he increased my dose during my treatment. His staff performed the ultrasounds as needed and waited for me to progress. He prescribed me Prometrium after my IUI knowing I had a high rate of miscarriage.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Positive Steps Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Sara S.)
All of the nurses, especially Sara S., were so caring and friendly! I never had an encounter which was rude, short tempered, or disorganized. Sara checked on me by phone multiple times during stimulation. Each nurse had a smile and was very positive each visit!
Describe your experience with Positive Steps Fertility.
This clinic was state-of-the-art, clean, newly built, and had the best care I've experienced amongst the three clinics I've used. Their strengths are: friendly front desk receptionists, clean coffee bar with snacks, no televisions in the waiting room just added stressful noise, clean clinic rooms, and attentive staff. Another strength is on-time appointments. I never waited passed my allotted appointment time. A weakness would be: I had difficulty filling prescriptions. There was poor communication with a certain nurse who calls in the prescriptions and my pharmacy. My pharmacy could never understand her instructions and she wouldn't call the pharmacy back to clarify.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
The cost of the Parryscope was $1,000. The package of IUIs was $1,500 for 3 attempts.
Describe Preston Parry's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Positive Steps Fertility.
I am unfamiliar with this approach for his care.

He is wonderful and caring. You can tell he is a very smart man, but he explains things where you understand. He’s very positive and encouraging, but doesn’t sell you false hope. He really wants his patients to succeed and will advise you on the best course of treatment even if it’s not making the clinic money. He has advised us of when he thought certain courses were wasting money and told us what he would do in our position but never tried to push us.

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr. Parry values his patients and talks to you like you’re a family member. He provides his personal cell number and is always open for questions. There have been times my husband went in for testing, not having an appointment with Dr Parry, and he came out in to the waiting room to check in with me or just to ask how we were and if he could do anything for us. He truly loves what he does and values his patients.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
We started out by doing a Parryscope and transvaginal ultrasound. After finding I had PCOS and no blockages from the Parryscope, Dr. Parry told us IUI would be a good, lower cost option. We purchased a package of 3 and I started fertility meds and performed a trigger shot after my first ultrasound. We did 1 IUI with no success. My husband’s counts had dropped significantly since his first analysis, but we opted to try a second time. The second round my ultrasound was not as good so Dr. Parry and Brittany Linton advised us to wait and not waste an IUI since my ultrasound wasn’t great. At this point we repeated semen analysis and Dr Parry referred us to Dr Moss, a urologist, in Shreveport. He told us he didn’t want us to waste our time or money since it seemed there was a male factor issue also at play and wanted to get my husband checked out before we proceeded any further. Currently my husband is being treated with Clomid and we will resume our IUI trial once his counts are at a good level.

During your initial visit, Dr. Parry makes an effort to be conversational and get to know you. I didn’t have this same experience on subsequent visits though...uses a cookie-cutter approach to evaluation and ovulation induction medication dosages. He will not review any detailed home cycle tracking (e.g. urine hormone testing, average ovulation day) except average period lengths...DOES NOT USE A PATIENT PORTAL...You can’t see any of your records, labs or imaging on a portal. They force you to pay $25 EACH TIME you request any sort of record...
DR. PARRY [Positive Steps Fertility] DOES NOT USE A PATIENT PORTAL...You can’t see any of your records, labs or imaging on a portal. They force you to pay $25 EACH TIME you request any sort of record...The front office staff usually has NO idea what is going on when you call. They don't recognize you or greet you by name because there's always someone different at the front desk. The front desk personnel have zero medical knowledge or familiarity with reasoning for various appointment types and will always have to redirect you to a callback from a nurse (variable response time). The nurses are okay - but this is a huge pain if you work normal business hours and have to sit around waiting for a call just for a simple question or to schedule a time sensitive appointment...
How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Everyone has their own personality and bedside manner preference. In my experience, Dr. Parry was not a good fit. Take my experience for what it’s worth and decide what you’re looking for in an REI. I wouldn’t recommend him to any of my family and friends after my experience. Pros: - Mississippi has a failing fertility service rating and there are very limited options for reproductive endocrinology specialists and insurance coverage in the area. Dr. Parry may be the only specialist you were able to see you in a timely manner since he runs a private clinic (in contrast to the academic clinic nearby). - During your initial visit, Dr. Parry makes an effort to be conversational and get to know you. I didn’t have this same experience on subsequent visits though and when I had a follow-up after a miscarriage he simply repeated the same “one-liner” statistical facts he told us at the first appointment. - If you are already very aware of your infertility status and are seeking a physician with a VERY aggressive treatment approach - Dr. Parry might be a good fit for you. He seems to push the boundaries of the upper limit on medication dosages compared to other RE’s and encourages patients to pursue the intervention that guarantees the highest chance of success in his opinion to boost outcomes. We did not feel comfortable with this, but that might be perfect for someone else. Cons: - DR. PARRY DOES NOT USE A PATIENT PORTAL. This is a HUGE pain. You can’t see any of your records, labs or imaging on a portal. They force you to pay $25 EACH TIME you request any sort of record, which is absurd. HIPAA requires access to your personal medical information and this can be cost-prohibitive to couples already paying ridiculous amounts for fertility treatments. This is not the standard at any other REI or OBGYN clinic I have visited and it’s a huge hassle on top of all the fertility visits and records patients have to keep track of on top of life. - If you’re looking for a holistic fertility specialist who will work to develop a better understanding of possible underlying hormonal conditions (e.g. PCOS), this likely is NOT the clinic for you. During our visit, Dr. Parry indicated that weight loss likely wouldn’t improve my conception rate (contradictory to ASRM guidelines that suggest even marginal weight loss improves PCOS fertility outcomes) and did not rule out any other hormonal disorders that may be causing cycle abnormalities. He doesn’t believe in taking specific vitamins/supplements and does not offer any diet or lifestyle recommendations. We switched to a different out-of-state REI and the difference in this approach was HUGE. Our new REI did a comprehensive workup and found factors affecting our fertility that Dr. Parry failed to investigate or overlooked. Our new REI also offered a lot of support for lifestyle changes that were never mentioned at the Positive Steps Clinic. - Dr. Parry uses a cookie-cutter approach to evaluation and ovulation induction medication dosages. He will not review any detailed home cycle tracking (e.g. urine hormone testing, average ovulation day) except average period lengths. As a result, he tried to do a monitoring ultrasound for ovulation way too early and put me on even more medication - I already know that my ovulation occurs later in my cycle and he confirmed this on ultrasound (which was a waste of money to perform this early). There were several cycle months where I knew I didn’t ovulate and he still counted this as part of the “failure to conceive” cycle count - you can't get pregnant with timed intercourse if you don't ovulate during a cycle. He continued to use the TTC month count to say our chances of conceiving were lower and to pressure us into IUI with scripted claims about diminishing statistical chances of success. We felt extremely gaslit and turned off by this - especially now that subsequent REI's have disputed these claims. We were very explicit about wanting to continue with medicated cycles with timed intercourse due to religious beliefs and personal fertility goals. We also discussed wanting to pursue further labs to rule out any underlying causes for abnormal cycles and no further testing was done. - Dr. Parry ignored the fact that I was consistently recording ovulation with LH OPK’s (I made a point to inform him of this) when evaluating our treatment plan 8 months after our initial consultation after suffering a miscarriage. He proceeded to place me on high dose medications (unnecessary) and this caused ovarian cysts to develop. These cysts caused us to have to skip several cycles of treatment with a different RE and set us back. Other RE’s we visited after Dr. Parry were shocked that he placed me on such a high dose of ovulation inducing medication. This is extremely concerning to me since he never warned me about potential risks of increasing the dose that high. - Dr. Parry doesn’t have a very gentle approach during ultrasounds or the hysteroscopy. I don’t feel like he gave great notice when he was doing different maneuvers or cervix during imaging which makes these invasive encounters very awkward and uncomfortable. This is likely personal preference though, but any gynecologic exam should be treated with a gentle approach and continued communication with the patient. - Dr. Parry explains findings on ultrasounds and hysteroscopy VERY quickly which makes it difficult to take notes, especially if your partner isn’t there to take notes for you. To make matters worse, the clinic does not provide a summary of any findings without a special record request and $25 record request fee. You have to keep track of a piece of paper for med recommendations and timing instead of having printed instructions or an online portal to reference. This is extremely problematic when they are monitoring follicle sizes in order to modify medication and determine the correct day to administer HCG trigger injections. - Dr. Parry loves data and tries to use this to impress patients and establish credibility. If you or your partner don’t have a statistics or medical background this may be overwhelming. The problem is that he manipulates statistics without considering your unique medical history and lab results. He also ignores evidence-based reproductive medicine protocols and research that he does not personally agree with - for example, he does not believe that progesterone deficiency can contribute to pregnancy loss (contradictory to research and other REI specialists) and will not provide luteal phase progesterone supplementation for medicated cycles which is a common protocol used at fertility clinics. - I had to argue with him to insist on trying a minimally invasive treatment approach I wanted to try (HCG trigger injection with timed intercourse). We had already paid for the HCG injection to be sent by the clinic from an out of state pharmacy and this would have gone to waste if I hadn’t advocated to use it. He insisted that it was a waste to use the trigger shot without IUI, which contradicts approaches that many other fertility clinics use. I had to fight for our goals and preferences every step of the way with Dr. Parry and it was exhausting. All of this took a HUGE mental and emotional toll on my husband and myself. The lack of respect for our goals, that we clearly vocalized, was disgusting. - When asking questions, he often does not address the specific question you asked and typically reiterates the specific “one liners” he uses during patient appointments. Bring a list of questions ahead of time because it always feels rushed when you are asked if you have any other questions. - Dr. Parry likes to market his “patented” hysteroscopy technique used as an alternative to a hysterosalpingogram to evaluated for uterine or tubal abnormalities. There is nothing special about this procedure - it is really just a Femvue Sono HSG and it’s a standard procedure done by many REI’s around the country (More info here FemVue: Fallopian Tube http://www.femvue.com). Not only did this procedure cost $1000, but he falsely suggested I had a tubal blockage which was later found to be incorrect by a follow-up HSG and ultrasound with a different RE. The Parryscope was a waste of money, and we spend MONTHS thinking I had a potential tubal blockage which altered our treatment approach.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
You will have to be your own advocate. If you don't have familiarity with medicine or fertility treatments, I discourage this clinic. You have to bring a list of questions to make sure you cover these during rushed appointments.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr. Parry uses a cookie-cutter approach to evaluation and ovulation induction medication dosages. He will not review any detailed home cycle tracking (e.g. urine hormone testing, average ovulation day) except average period lengths. The nurses are okay - but this is a huge pain if you work normal business hours and have to sit around waiting for a call just for a simple question or to schedule a time sensitive appointment. Dr. Parry stays busy because he also has a satellite clinic in another state he splits his time at because fertility doctors are so limited in the deep south.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
Cycle 1) medicated cycle with 5 mg letrozole day 3-8, monitoring ultrasound day 10 with timed intercourse - Unsuccessful Cycle 2) medicated cycle with 7.5 mg letrozole day 3-8 and 10-12, monitoring ultrasound day 10, HCG shot day 15 - Unsuccessful, left ovarian cyst
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Positive Steps Fertility.
The front office staff usually has NO idea what is going on when you call. They have zero medical knowledge and will always have to redirect you to a callback from a nurse. The nurses are okay - but this is a huge pain if you work normal business hours and have to sit around waiting for a call just for a simple question or to schedule a time-sensitive appointment. God bless the nurse names Lauren - she was extremely compassionate and empathetic when she called me with unfortunate HCG results (I hope she knows how appreciated this truly was). The majority of the other nurses I interacted with were ill-informed and difficult to communicate with.
Describe your experience with Positive Steps Fertility.
Scheduling and communication is a huge hassle due to the reception and nurse set-up. Not being able to message staff/Dr. Parry through a patient portal is a HUGE drawback. Something simple that could be sent through a message ends up being a call and wasting time. This makes it extremely hard to communicate with them if you work normal business hours or have a demanding work schedule (They open at 8 AM and close at 4PM). I wouldn't recommend this clinic because of this.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
$150 - New patient consult appointment $1000 - "Parryscope" - hysteroscopy with saline US $275 - Monitoring ultrasound $50 - Follow up consultation fees per appointment

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Positive Steps Fertility.
Trying to obtain records when we transferred care was a huge hassle. They force you to pay $25 each time you request any sort of record, which is absurd and easily avoided by using a patient portal. HIPAA requires access to your personal medical information and this can be cost-prohibitive to couples already paying ridiculous amounts for fertility treatments. It's also ridiculous that monitoring ultrasound details aren't just printed out for the patient so they can keep track of this. There are so many records to keep track of during fertility treatments and this caused a lot of unnecessary stress trying to take personal notes of results and instructions. I was also never provided detailed invoices to submit for insurance/HSA account. It took days for them to complete these requests and the front desk usually did not know how to help with this. These are simple things that could be provided without having to ask.

Dr. Parry has been phenomenal. He explains everything in an easy to understand manner, but does not talk down to you. He answers all questions thoroughly and addresses your concerns with thoughtfulness and honesty. He has a compassionate manner and I believe truly wants the best for his patients. We had a giant setback that even he didn't expect and he has worked with us to make it right.
The [Positive Steps Fertility] clinic is clean and modern. They schedule appointments so that you never have to wait very long, and the waiting room is never crowded. The front office staff and the financial staff are so nice and always willing to help. I can't say enough good things about this clinic... I love that Dr. Parry is the only doctor in the clinic. I like the individualized care and that fact I'm not bouncing from one provider to the next.

Ask all the questions you want! He will answer them all.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
The staff and Dr. Perry make you feel like they know you personally. They are very upbeat and call you by name. I don't feel at all like I'm a number or something to make them money.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
Dr. Parry was supportive of trying multiple cycles of IUI. He prices them in packages of three, including the ultrasounds. He has very reasonable pricing! We took letrozole, in varying dosages, prior to an ultrasound. At the ultrasound, we would schedule the IUI date. The actual IUI process is very fast and for me, relatively painless- only a few light cramps. After 14 days, we were instructed to take a pregnancy test. After 6 IUIs, we decided to move on to IVF. I took birth control for about a month to prep for stimulation. I started with Lupron for two weeks, then added Gonal F and Menopur. I started responding too well to the meds, so the dosages were lowered twice during monitoring. He wanted to wait two more days before we did the retrieval, but said it would not be safe to do so because I was overstimulated. So we did the egg retrieval and he retrieved 62 eggs, the clinic record at the time. I have PCOS, so we knew that likelihood that I would have a lot of eggs was high. I did develop OHSS, but it was moderate. I did have to have fluid drained once, but thankfully was never hospitalized nor did I experience vomiting. Dr. Parry had told me that OHSS was fairly likely given my PCOS. Unfortunately, we only wound up with one day 7 embryo. We froze the embryo so I could heal from the OHSS. We transferred the embryo a few months later, but it did not result in a pregnancy. We are hoping to do a second egg retrieval and have a better outcome since we will know better how my body reacts to stimulation meds.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Positive Steps Fertility.
The nursing staff at Positive Steps is fantastic. I worked with Ms. Vicky during my IUIs and she is so incredible. She is compassionate, funny, and very positive. She was willing to answer all my questions anytime I came in for an appointment or called. I worked with Lauren during my IVF cycle. She was so great as well. She gave me her personal cell phone number and told me she would facetime me if I needed help during stims. I also was able to text her afterhours due to a concern about OHSS and she responded quickly. I always felt Lauren was willing to help and really cared about me.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
The first IUI Package was $1,100. That included three IUIs and three ultrasounds. I needed an additional ultrasound once, and I believe it was $125. The second IUI Package had gone up to $1200. Dr. Parry has a scope called the Parryscope he was created that is an alternative to an HSG. It was $900 when we did it the first time, $1,000 the second time. It uses saline and a camera to scope the uterus and tubes. It was not painful at all, only slight cramping afterwards. IVF was $12,687 and included my husband and my bloodwork, monitoring ultrasounds, egg retrieval, ICSI and up to four embryo transfers and pregnancy tests in office. It did not include medication or OB sonograms. Medication was quoted at $4,500-6,500. We purchased our medication from Alexander's Twin Pharmacy, a mail-order pharmacy, at the recommendation of the clinic. We paid $4,074 for meds. Because I had OHSS, I needed IV fluids and fluid drained from my abdomen. That was $600 and was performed in the clinic. Positive Steps does not file insurance, as Mississippi does not mandate fertility coverage. Part of the time we had insurance from another state, so we were able to file some of the charges ourselves, and received a reimbursement of about $2,000.
Describe Preston Parry's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Positive Steps Fertility.
Dr. Parry generally prefers to transfer a single embryo, but will discuss transferring two if your situation warrants it or if you wish to do so.

After having the "Parryscope" diagnostic procedure I learned that I had a retroverted uterus and my right Fallopian tube had a blockage...I had already been diagnosed with PCOS by my OBGYN but Dr. Parry was the first person that really explained to me how many follicles I had on each side and what that meant for me as a patient...respectful of your wishes and doesn't push you in a direction that you don't want to go. He lets you lead your own fertility journey in a way.
They [Positive Steps Fertility] do not accept insurance and you pretty much have to pay out of pocket at the time of service...I had a nurse perform my first IUI which I wasn't all the way comfortable with..."spa" feel to it and feels luxurious. I never have to wait when I go because they are so prompt... If I called with questions someone always got back to me by the end of the day.
How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr. Parry is a really kind doctor. He was very thorough in my initial consultation. He is extremely knowledgeable about fertility and treatment options. He is really respectful of your wishes and doesn't push you in a direction that you don't want to go. He lets you lead your own fertility journey in a way. I can say I appreciated him and respected him as a doctor. I may go back to him for IVF monitoring since he is so close to me and my current clinic is almost 3 hours away.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
My advice to a prospective Dr. Parry patient is to research and ask questions. Dr. Parry is very thorough but researching your options beforehand and costs will give you a general idea of how you want your fertility journey to go. Ask for diagnostic testing as in lab work. My current RE was a little surprised that I hadn't had baseline lab work drawn. Also, be prepared to have a "Parryscope". It is his own technique that he created of examining your uterus and Fallopian tubes. I believe its a type of ultrasound guided, saline infused hysteroscopy.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
I felt like a human because the staff was always friendly and courteous. I never had any issues scheduling an appointment. If I called with questions someone always got back to me by the end of the day. I felt like the staff took the time to answer all of my questions when I went into the office for appointments. I had a good experience with this clinic even though my husband and I did not conceive while patients there. .
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
After having the "Parryscope" diagnostic procedure I learned that I had a retroverted uterus and my right Fallopian tube had a blockage. The procedure also showed that I had several follicles on each side typical of patients with PCOS. I had already been diagnosed with PCOS by my OBGYN but Dr. Parry was the first person that really explained to me how many follicles I had on each side and what that meant for me as a patient. After my diagnostic procedure, I ended up getting accepted to a new program of study and decided to put my fertility journey on hold. I then returned to Dr. Parry almost a year later ready to begin again. We picked up were we left off. Dr. Parry put me on 5mg of Letrozole which was an increase from the 2.5 my OBGYN had me taking for three months prior to starting my IUIs with Parry. I had spoken with the nurse and told her that I had my progesterone level checked while taking the 2.5 mg and that my level was 22.6. She stated that Dr. Parry still wanted to increase the dosage slightly because he felt like it would give me a better chance of producing a mature egg on both sides. I began taking Letrozole 5mg and having transvaginal ultrasounds. He told me that if I had a mature egg on the left, we would proceed with IUI for that cycle. I was able to have three IUI cycles which he offers in 3 sessions for one set price. I had a nurse perform my first IUI which I wasn't all the way comfortable with, however Dr. Parry performed all of the rest them. All three attempts were unsuccessful and did not result in pregnancy.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Positive Steps Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Ms. Vicki)
Ms. Vicki is so awesome. She is Dr. Parry's head nurse and she is the person who would answer all my questions if I called later on. She would always call me back no matter what. Sometimes it would even be after clinic. The other nurses are always nice and friendly.
Describe your experience with Positive Steps Fertility.
Some strengths of the clinic is timeliness, cleanliness, and availability. Someone is always available for you whenever you need them. The clinic has a "spa" feel to it and feels luxurious. I never have to wait when I go because they are so prompt. The clinic has very few weaknesses, I just felt like I needed a different approach to my fertility journey.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
I've probably spent roughly $2,500 total under Dr. Parry. The "Parryscope" procedure I had was about $1100 in 2018. The IUIs was about $1000 and that included 3 ultrasounds in 2019. Other costs include consultation fees and office visit fees. They do not accept insurance and you pretty much have to pay out of pocket at the time of service.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Dr.Parry did our recent IVF consultation and went over my previous labs as well as egg retrieval numbers. He gave us honest feedback and is making changes for the next cycle based on the failed cycle information we provided to him. It’s clear he’s going above and beyond to help us have a successful cycle. We absolutely love him...extremely knowledgeable and kind. He let us know what he thinks is the best treatment but is open to any suggestions we may have along the way.
Positive Steps is organized, has the kindest staff, and makes you truly feel seen. You can just tell they want you to have success just as much as you want it. How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
We had a consultation at Positive Steps to discuss our fertility. We found out we were dealing with male factor but they referred us to a Urologist who was kind and helpful. Within a few months, my husband’s sperm count was back to normal. We had 3 IUI’s but unfortunately none of them worked. We used an outside clinic for our first round of IVF because it was the more affordable route. Our only embryo failed so we came back to Positive Steps to do our second round of IVF. We plan to start our second round in January. Dr.Parry did our recent IVF consultation and went over my previous labs as well as egg retrieval numbers. He gave us honest feedback and is making changes for the next cycle based on the failed cycle information we provided to him. It’s clear he’s going above and beyond to help us have a successful cycle. We absolutely love him.

Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
In our IUI’s he used 5 days of Letrozole on cycle days 3-7 and a trigger shot around 36 hours before ovulation. He also has you come in for an ultrasound a few days before ovulation to check your follicle count and sizes. He will be doing my next egg retrieval and is going to perform serial ultrasounds this month to see if I ovulate at a different time based on my low number of mature eggs from the first egg retrieval. He also recommended I be on higher doses of IVF medication for the second round.

Brittany is the kindest nurse we’ve ever met. My husband and I love her. She’s always very direct while also showing compassion. The entire team at Positive Steps is so kind and caring.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
It was $150 for the initial consultation. It was $1000 for the scope. We paid $1500 for 3 IUI’s which also included an ultrasound for each of them. We paid $25 each time we needed lab work done. It was $75 for each semen analysis. IVF is $17,500 with PGT and my meds were quoted around $7000.
Describe Preston Parry's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Positive Steps Fertility.
I am over 35 so I believe he’s open to transferring more than one if we request it. We plan on having them tested so that likely wouldn’t be his preference and I doubt it will be ours either.
What specific things went wrong at Positive Steps Fertility?
  • Failed to call with results
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Positive Steps Fertility.
We did have labs done before and didn’t get a call back with results. It wasn’t extremely time sensitive though so we called another day and spoke to someone. This happened once out of a million visits there so it’s definitely not a common occurrence, mistakes happen.

Dr. Perry is a brilliant physician, but he always make it clear as to the process, his expectations and what our expectation's should be...having Dr. Parry there to do the transfer made me feel so relaxed because he has been there from the start of our journey with him...After two failed treatments of IUI and only one or two follicles before each IUI treatment he suggested I see a doctor he knew to remove the cyst and clean out the endometriosis...[he] explained that because of my age (43) I am considered high risk so he would only transfer one
The clinic [at Positive Steps Fertility] has everything. They have a friendly front staff, coffee, sodas, water, and that's just the waiting room area. IT IS always clean, organized and bright lighting (overhead and natural). The facility is a stand alone so you wont get lost getting there...The patient consultation rooms feel confidential in you can feel comfortable discussing your personal matters...[a nurse] Vickie was always in communication with me. She was available any time i had questions or my donor had questions. [she] gave me her personal cell number and made it clear she was available after business hours
How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
You can tell Dr. Perry is a brilliant physician, but he always make it clear as to the process, his expectations and what our expectation's should be. We only have two embryos and when we went in to do the first transfer he was there. There is another doctor at this location and she is great, but having Dr. Parry there to do the transfer made me feel so relaxed because he has been there from the start of our journey with him. After eight years of infertility and so many attempts/ procedures/ medication, it makes me want to cry writing this just thinking about when he looked me in the eye and said, "right now you are pregnant." I have never heard those words in my entire life. Dr. Parry even asked my husband for his phone and Dr.Parry held the phone an made sure to get all of us and the nurses in the picture before he did the transfer. Who thinks of doing that for their patience's? I tell you who a doctor that cares with his heart for the people he is treating.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Do everything he tells you to do. I even told Dr. Parry if have to eat dirty to have a baby you just tell me where to get the dirt. I truly trust that man's advice and opinion. He never said anything unrealistic.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
I can not say enough great thing about the people he has working on his staff. I truly feel like a family member going to hang out and catch up with family and friends when I go to appointments.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
After he reviewed my infertility journey to him he started with an ultrasound. He said within ten minutes that he believed I has endometriosis and confirmed what I had known before about the cyst in my ovary and sizing. Next was the Parryscope in which he used a camera to look at my tubes and uterus. I had some polyps so after the scope I was proscribed medication so they would go away. Previously when I took Clomid I had cyst rupture and no follicle growth so I asked to use Femara instead. could After two failed treatments of IUI and only one or two follicles before each IUI treatment he suggested I see a doctor he knew to remove the cyst and clean out the endometriosis. I had surgery and did the third IUI buy again only had three follicles. The only other choice I had was to go through with IVF or adopt. So the IVF process started and he meet with Dr.Parry a hand full of times for questions or concerns we had. He was always willing to meet with us. We started to work with Dr. Parry's Egg Donor coordinator. I have a friend offer to be our egg donor. She did he blood work and labs with Dr. Parry's office and we found out she was per-menopausal so we was not a candidate. I fortunately had another friend offer and she was able to be our donor. She took t medication to get her body ready. We drove to Dr. Parry's Madison office for my husband to donate a fresh sample and the egg retrieval. His office kept us up to date on how the eggs where doing and what was frozen. We opted to have the embryos tested and we received clear instructions on results. The transfer was easy and I didn't have any pain.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Positive Steps Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Vickie the Egg Donor Coordinator)
Vickie was always in communication with me. She was available any time i had questions or my donor had questions. Vickie gave me her personal cell number and made it clear she was available after business hours. She had recommendations to use for our legal paperwork. She was not only there for me but kept up with my egg donor and ensured she had everything she needed. I only met Vickie when we went to Madison for the egg retrieval but she felt like meeting a friend. While we were there she keep us up to day on the process and checked on us after. She even called me to tell me how good my HGC level was after the transfer.
Describe your experience with Positive Steps Fertility.
The clinic has everything. They have a friendly front staff, coffee, sodas, water, and that's just the waiting room area. IT IS always clean, organized and bright lighting (overhead and natural). The facility is a stand alone so you wont get lost getting there. I've been in all the rooms that a patient is allowed and every room is clean. The patient consultation rooms feel confidential in you can feel comfortable discussing your personal matters.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
My insurance only covered the $150 consolation, however additional consultations did not cost anything. $1,000 for the Parryscope, $1,500 for three rounds of IUI, $175 for ultrasounds, $28,000 for IVF.
Describe Preston Parry's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Positive Steps Fertility.
Dr. Parry explained that because of my age (43) I am considered high risk so he would only transfer one. Through out my treatment at his facilities h word was gold to me. If he said one we were only doing one. He fully explained why he veered against multiple transfers. Also, after 4 frozen embryos, testing the embryos, we only had two good embryos.

Dr. Parry delivers data in the most human way possible, making you feel like a person worthy of the best care...my time speaking with him wasn't rushed...fully explained everything I had questions about...I don't have any critiques of Dr. Parry...While telling us the facts he was also reassuring without promising anything...reviewed my information in a consultation, then we had a hysteroscopy...So far, we've prepared for IUI next week
Positive Steps has an excellent facility. Everything feels up to date and clean, and the decor makes you feel at home. I love that they have snacks and drinks for patients -- it's a hard time and having a little treat does help...Kristin is fantastic -- and really the whole nursing crew is. Everyone is kind and lighthearted when needed, but also willing to reassure fears or talk about the tough topics.
How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
I don't have any critiques of Dr. Parry. He reassured me that we were deserving to take control of our reproductive health, and told us by the numbers what our next steps were. I'm very analytical, so I appreciated the data he presented to us. While telling us the facts he was also reassuring without promising anything. False hope is the worst, but Dr. Parry managed to give us the strength to be optimistic while also keeping us realistic.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Be prepared to travel a good bit if you don't live in Madison! But also, be prepared to be treated like a full person and not just a number or a name on a schedule.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr. Parry delivers data in the most human way possible, making you feel like a person worthy of the best care. I felt like my time speaking with him wasn't rushed, and he fully explained everything I had questions about. He's confident and experienced, but also warm and conversational.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
So far, we've prepared for IUI next week. Dr. Parry reviewed my information in a consultation, then we had a hysteroscopy test (which was very interesting!). After making sure my tubes were open, we started on 3 2.5mg letrozole pills per day for days 3-7 of my cycle. I went in for an ultrasound, and now I'm taking 3 2.5 pills of letrozole for 3 days to give the eggs more time to mature before heading in for IUI next week.

How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr. Parry was extremely honest with us from the very beginning. He gave us statistics for the treatments he was suggesting for us, but he always made sure moving forward with treatments were our decision. Dr. Parry explained every step of every procedure and made sure we fully understood what was going on before moving forward. I knew that if I had a concern or a question, I could be open and honest with Dr. Parry and he would be honest with the answer he provided.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Ask questions, do not be scared, nervous or hesitant to share all of your concerns and ask all of your questions. Dr. Parry will answer honestly and he will make your concerns and feelings feel valid and important.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr. Parry took the time to get to know my husband and I before treatment started. He and his staff knew who we were and where we were at in treatment every time, and that proved to me that we were true patients to them, not just another number. They checked on me physically but also mentally and emotionally every time we were seen.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
Dr. Parry reviewed my previous medical history from my OBGYN and used that to help plan my treatment. He performed a Parryscope to determine any issues that may be causing infertility. He found that my tubes were blocked and I had a small polyp. He was able to remove the polyp and unblock my tubes. Following that procedure, we discussed our next steps and determined IUI would be our first course of treatment. We completed two rounds of IUI with no success, and then prepared for a third in which my medication was increased and we had a successful third round which ended in a healthy baby boy.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Positive Steps Fertility.
The nursing staff was incredible. Each nurse we encountered treated us like a friend, not just a patient. They knew our names, our story and were invested in our treatment. They wanted to see us successfully get pregnant just as much as we did.
Describe your experience with Positive Steps Fertility.
This clinic is extremely flexible. They were able to work with us when work schedules got crazy. They were extremely upfront about costs and what we would need to do, as well as communicating with us thoroughly during every step.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
The costs for procedures were shared with us upfront and we knew exactly what to expect and how much we would be paying. Our IUI procedures cost less than other clinics and included more rounds then other clinics.

Dr Parry took great care of me while I was undergoing surgery...very efficient and had his team update my husband throughout the surgery...trust any tests he is wanting to do...Due to the parry scope I found out I had polyps and blocked tubes...Dr Parry went in and did a tubal cannulation to clear the tubes and he removed the polyps completely...willing to answer any questions I may have without making me feel stupid
[Positive Steps Fertility] is very nice and relaxing. It’s clean and the staff is great. Although you may have to wait a while during the visit. They are very booked up and busy. But all very sweet and accommodating...his staff made me feel like family. They truly made me feel as if I was not alone...they could work on is their scheduling. I’m not sure if they’re over booked. We have to wait quite a while
How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr Parry took great care of me while I was undergoing surgery. When I woke up he even hugged me and let me know he was there for me. He was very efficient and had his team update my husband throughout the surgery. He took his time talking with me after the surgery to make sure I was okay and that I completely understood how it went and what the next steps were. He has always made me feel like family.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
To trust any tests he is wanting to do. I was skeptical at first to have them do a parry scope test. I thought it wasn’t needed. I trusted them and let them do the test and found the reason for my infertility in which I had been unsure of for years. Due to the parry scope I found out I had polyps and blocked tubes.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr Parry and his staff made me feel like family. They truly made me feel as if I was not alone. They also have been willing to answer any questions I may have without making me feel stupid. They’re always emotionally supportive.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
For my tubal blockage and polyps Dr Parry went in and did a tubal cannulation to clear the tubes and he removed the polyps completely. With IUI Dr Parry prescribed me letrozole for CD 3-7 followed by an ultrasound to view my eggs on CD 10-12. He then calculated and decided a date for insemination.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Positive Steps Fertility.
They’re all so nice and make me feel welcome and cared for. The only thing I could say they could work on is their scheduling. I’m not sure if they’re over booked. We have to wait quite a while usually. It’s especially hard during IUI because they request that I have a full bladder for the procedure but it’s hard when I have to sit there and wait for so long.
Describe your experience with Positive Steps Fertility.
The clinic is very nice and relaxing. It’s clean and the staff is great. Although you may have to wait a while during the visit. They are very booked up and busy. But all very sweet and accommodating.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
Dr Parry offers an IUI package of 3 rounds for around 1400-1500 is what we paid. Much cheaper than anyone else around.

Dr. Parry is very personable, kind, joyful, and caring doctor. He never makes you feel as if you’re just a number to him...explained our treatments options and our odds with all the different treatments. How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr. Parry is very personable, kind, joyful, and caring doctor. He never makes you feel as if you’re just a number to him. He actually shows that he cares. He explained our treatments options and our odds with all the different treatments. He wanted me to be in the best medical shape as a diabetic and held off on treatments until my A1C was in 6.5 or less. He was concerned for us miscarrying if my A1C wasn’t in range and did not want us to go through that again.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
If you’re unsure of treatments, the plan, medication or have any questions at all just be honest and ask as many questions as you can. They will take the time to answer everything and ensure you are comfortable before moving forward.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr. Parry was very personable. He sat down and discussed everything with us, told us our odd with iui vs ivf. He was so kind and honest. I never felt like just a number to him.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
We did iui treatments. I would take femera cycle day 3-7. I would take 7.5mg (3pills) each day. Then around cycle day 10-12 they would do an ultrasound to look at the follicle development and make sure the sizes of each were good for an optimal treatment. Then around cycle day 15 they would have me trigger with the pregnyl shot. I would come in 36hours later for the iui procedure. My husband would get there an hour before to give a sample. I had to lay on the table ten minutes after then could go about my day normally.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Positive Steps Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Samantha )
They are always so nice. We had to cancel a iui treatment due to the follicles being too many and it could lead to multiples. I cried and the nurses just comforted me and ensured I was ok.

Dr. Party is very well spoken and focused on his patients. He takes his time to answer any questions and he fully breaks down any information that is needed to be covered concerning a diagnosis and further steps. He cares about working with patients financial situations and will not go forward with any procedure until he feels comfortable that there is a high percentage of a success. He is very open and candid about what he feels will work and what may not and he allows the patient to make the ultimate decision after laying out all of the facts he has gathered through testing and observation. He truly cares about every aspect of his patients life and will not put more on them than they can bare.
There are multiple [Positive Steps Fertility] locations, which means they are able to service more patients who need help...The clinic I visited was very clean and appealing on the inside. The rooms are spacious and welcoming. There is plenty of privacy and room to relax...My nurse was very kind and took her time to further explain any questions I had after my visits. She was also good about contacting me back whenever I had to leave a message. She was knowledgeable about my plan of care and was able to further break down my test results right after testing, which was a plus! There was no waiting on results and I loved that about this clinic.

Dr. Parry warmly laid out our fertility factors and what we could expect. He took the time to ask questions and make sure that we had all the information needed. He gave us options on how we would like to proceed...We felt comfortable choosing a plan of care during that time based on the thorough information we received
The [Positive Steps Fertility] reception and billing staff are organized and helpful. Their communication has been helpful through reminder calls and email communications. The facility is so beautiful and state of the art! You feel comfortable from the moment you walk in and within each different care area. Everything is new and feels very clean.
How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr. Parry is the most knowledgeable in his field. During our first appointment, he laid out all the information we needed to know in order to proceed. Even though we researched heavily and felt prepared, he presented us with information we never would have know. We felt comfortable choosing a plan of care during that time based on the thorough information we received. We are so confident in our care with Dr. Parry that we drive from another state, 8+ hours round trip for each visit. Our journey is still continuing but we are certain our desired outcome is around the corner.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Make the appointment! Dr. Parry's way of care will change your fertility journey for the better.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
During our initial consult, Dr. Parry warmly laid out our fertility factors and what we could expect. He took the time to ask questions and make sure that we had all the information needed. He gave us options on how we would like to proceed, even giving us his cell phone number to call with any issues during treatment! The medical and office staff are an extension of his warm and caring nature as well. They are so kind and helpful, no matter what the need may be.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
The Parryscope procedure identified uterine fibroids that had not been discovered with several other tests with another doctor. I was able to have a removal surgery and start with letrozole for medicated IUI cycles. Our first planned cycle was not met with enough eggs, so medication was altered. This was successful in producing more eggs. Although the IUI has not yet been successful, we still have more opportunities to try before moving to IVF.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Positive Steps Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Vickie and Dana)
We have worked with a few nurses and they have all been so helpful. The staff is encouraging and you truly feel like they have your family success as a number one priority.

Describe Preston Parry's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Positive Steps Fertility.

He’s [Dr. Preston Parry] very genuine and kind. He also sit down and talk with you 1 on 1 something that most doctors doesn’t do! He always be sure to ask is their anything else that he can tell you before he end the conversation...very good at explaining things...didn’t want to transfer that 1 because it was aneuploid as they say. That really sadden me that I didn’t have any eggs to transfer
I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about Positive Steps Fertility. The nurses are very kind and helpful and you can always call them if you need anything or have any questions even if it’s not urgent they still find time to call you back before the day was over...They’re very good at explaining things(Doctor&Nurses). They actually show that they care!

Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
I was put on Lupron 10ccm injections every night at 11:26pm then about roughly a week in a half following behind that I started my Menopur injections with the liquid and powder mix 1ml every morning at 11:30am. About a week after that I started my Follistim 300mg and I injected that with my Lupron at 11:26pm every night. Then about 36hrs before my retrieval I did an HCG injection on a Monday at 9:00pm in my buttocks/Hip and my retrieval was done at 9:30 on a Wednesday morning where 14eggs were retrieved.Six of those eggs turned out to be mature while the other 8 weren’t. Five out of 6 turned out to be normal while only 1 was abnormal. Five were injected with my husband sperm and 4 of them stop growing after day 3 while only 1 made it to the Blastocyst stage and was sent off for PGT-A testing and that 1 was missing a chromosome (number 4 to be exact). So Dr.Parry didn’t want to transfer that 1 because it was aneuploid as they say. That really sadden me that I didn’t have any eggs to transfer

I paid out 15,489 all together for the treatment that includes PGT-A testing. But that’s not including what I paid out for the medicine

We never made it to that stage to get opinions on transfer because in the end I didn’t have any eggs to transfer

He [Dr. Preston Parry] broke things down so that I could understand them better. I was shown and explained everything so that I could visually see and understand what his plans moving forward would be. Me and my husband were asked numerous times if we had any questions and our feelings were handled delicately, while receiving to the point news.
There is not a single weakness that I can point out to you. You are truly made welcome the instant you walk in that door [at Positive Steps Fertility], all the way to leaving your appointment. I can’t say enough good things about this clinic’s compassion and professionalism...Nursing staff was phenomenal! After having my parryscope done I asked my news some questions which she had no problem answering. She was very kind!
How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
I got to see him during my consultation and knew immediately we had made it to the correct doctor for us. Our feelings were taken into consideration, he explained everything as far as ovulating and conceiving for someone my age. He had all the numbers laid out for us already. He also made it a point to review everything prior to walking in his office. It made me feel like we actually mattered and like he is truly dedicated to helping people. I’m pleased with the fact that he printed off a “guide” for the months to come in my journey of TTC.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Don’t debate on going, go! He truly is the best.

I’m in the early stages of TTC. I had my parryscope done to confirm whether or not I had any issues with my tubes, ovaries or eggs. During my appointment I was explained what everything on the screen was and was walked through what exactly they were looking for during the sonogram. They did the same during the parryscope. I actually learned more about women’s health by going to Dr Parry than I’ve learned any where else in my 27 years of living. Super educational, thorough, and painless!

He [Dr. Preston Parry] is very warm and welcoming. He makes you feel very comfortable at first...When I would bring up concerns about pains I would be feeling he would quickly brush them off and act like I didn’t know what I was talking about, even though I’m very in tune with my body...he said I never had empty follicle syndrome and acted like I had made it up
[Positive Steps Fertility is] Very organized. Very calm environment! Super friendly. Made you feel very welcome. Everyone is super helpful from the first time you call. The clinic overall is super nice and clean. I don’t necessarily have any weaknesses for the clinic...They [nurses] were the reason I stayed. I could often get better answers from them and made me feel more comfortable about what was going on.
How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
He is very warm and welcoming. He makes you feel very comfortable at first. I came in with the diagnosis of endometriosis but he gave me no other explanation. He did not draw any hormone levels which is fine, but I took it upon myself to get modern fertility done and when I asked questions about some of my off levels he acted like they were incorrect and would not give me any explanation about them. In my first egg retrieval he diagnosed me with empty follicle syndrome, his words not mine. After our second failed transfer he said I never had empty follicle syndrome and acted like I had made it up. When I reminded him that he gave me that diagnosis he tried to back track but the damage had already been done. I tried to advocate for myself on multiple occasions like getting an ERA and he was so discouraging about it, he made me feel silly about wanting it. When the first 2 FETs didn’t work I did research (on credible sites) about things we could add in for our last FET but he acted like they were all baseless and made no sense in trying. When I would bring up concerns about pains I would be feeling he would quickly brush them off and act like I didn’t know what I was talking about, even though I’m very in tune with my body.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
FET protocols don’t change. If you want something done, you have to REALLY put your foot down and stand your ground. Don’t let him make you feel like what you want is stupid or baseless. This is your fertility.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
He is very into numbers and statistics and explains things in that way but was warm and welcoming.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
For our IUIs we did letrazole day 3-7, HCG trigger based on follicle size, IUI 36 hours after trigger, at home test 2 weeks after. First egg retrieval we did 3 weeks of birth control, started lupron 2 weeks before the period before retrieval. After my period we continued lupron, started estradiol, follistim and menopur. HCG trigger. Only had eggs in 1/3 of follicles. Second retrieval birth control 3 weeks before my period. After my period started estradiol, follistim, and menopur. Added ganirelix based off my follicles. HCG trigger. For all FETs, took 2mg estradiol 3times a day for at least 3 weeks, started PIO 5 days before transfer. Continued both until blood draw 10 days after transfer.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
1200/3 IUIs 12000 per IVF retrieval including up to 4 transfers or until pregnant. Meds were a separate cost through a pharmacy.
Describe Preston Parry's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Positive Steps Fertility.
He will only do single embryo transfer. He doesn’t like transferring multiple due to creating a high risk pregnancy.

Overall, I liked Dr. Parry. However, I did feel the need to get a second option after seeing him...I also don’t like that he constantly makes himself the center of my treatment and doesn’t spend much time with me at each appointment past the initial consult and initial diagnostic visit. I also dislike that he seems to blame me for the pain I experience during pelvic exams he performs.
The [Positive Steps Fertility] front desk staff are nice and professional. They take notes and get them the nurses quickly. When you arrive for your visit, they are ready for you with all of your paperwork and your bill. The location of the clinic is great and the building itself is inviting. However, I did notice all of the ultrasound equipment (not the wand) is quite dusty, which as a medical professional, seems off-putting. The rest of the facility seems well kept and very clean. The nurse practitioner was great. Every interaction I had with her was nice. She is personable and seems knowledge.
How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Overall, I liked Dr. Parry. However, I did feel the need to get a second option after seeing him. I don’t like that he claims to have invented the procedure he calls the ParryScope, which multiple other doctors have told me he didn’t. I also don’t like that he constantly makes himself the center of my treatment and doesn’t spend much time with me at each appointment past the initial consult and initial diagnostic visit. I also dislike that he seems to blame me for the pain I experience during pelvic exams he performs. I do think that he is knowledgeable in his area of medicine and I do think he tries to guide patients towards the best route for them. However, I wish he’d be more compassionate when referring to IVF. He seemed very flippant when telling me that it had to be my next step - never really taking time to acknowledge or discuss the huge cost.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Don’t wait to get a second option if you want one. Don’t be wowed by his initial charismatic persona.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
For the most part, Dr. Parry had good bedside manner. However, at my last appointment with him, after three failed IUI’s, when I began crying, he was almost offended at my emotions after hearing disheartening news.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
He had me take 7.5 letrozole CD 3-5. Come in for ultrasound on day 10, based on those findings, trigger shot later and 35-37 hours later IUI. No pregnancies resulted. He also recommended surgery to improved my qualify today life but after surgery told me that it didn’t have any affect on my fertility. Which was in complete disagreement with the surgeon.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Positive Steps Fertility.
Some of the nurses were great. Vickie was WONDERFUL. If I could have talked with her every time I would have loved it. However others were awful. Towards the end of my treatment a new nurse was hired and I talked with her frequently, unfortunately. She was not compassionate during our conversations. At the clinic she didn’t give clear instructions on what to do and then made me feel bad for having to ask or for doing what I thought was best and being wrong. Over the phone, she continually gave me wrong instructions on how to prepare for my final IUI until I finally told her what’d I’d done before and she agreed that was right. I did really like that the nurses were always prompt when calling me back and seemed to have quick access to my chart when talking with me over the phone.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
The initial consult was $150. The diagnostic appointment was $900. Three rounds of IUI were $1,400. A second diagnostic appointment (after surgery) was $600. Surgery (that was completed by another doctor, but was advised by Dr. Parry) was $2,000 because it was covered by my health insurance.
What specific things went wrong at Positive Steps Fertility?
  • Failed to call with results
  • Failed to inform you of changes in protocol
  • Provided conflicting information
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Positive Steps Fertility.
The main things that went wrong were with the new nurse. She was hired right before my final IUI. She happened to be the nurse that called me back in preparation for that final IUI. She gave me wrong information about how much letrozole to take and on what days to take it. She gave me incorrect information about scheduling of the IUI. All of these mistakes were corrected in one phone call, so nothing went wrong with my procedure or the prep for it. However it was still very frustrating to have her telling me wrong information that was only corrected when I offered to tell her what I’d previously done to prepare for IUI.

Dr. Parry has an excellent personality. He is very down to earth and well spoken. We still continue to see Dr Parry at this time but it’s always a pleasure and fun seeing him. Additionally he is professional, well educated and always happy to answer any of your questions. He absolutely loves data and numbers...open for multiple embryo transfers , but usually for women above the age of 35 or women that had multiple losses.
Positive Steps always makes you feel welcomed every single time you visit with them. You can tell they care for you and your needs. They absolutely treat you like family and your goal is their goal as well...This clinic is very clean and just a couple of years old. When you enter the clinic you’re welcomed by very friendly front desk employees...When I entered this clinic I immediately felt comfortable through their modern interior and design. They all are well organized and seem to communicate with each other about your case. You can feel the team spirit within the employees. Dr. Parry limits himself to around 10 IVF patients per month to keep the highest quality care possible. You will not regret starting your fertility journey with this compassionate team.

Positive Steps always makes you feel welcomed every single time you visit with them. You can tell they care for you and your needs. They absolutely treat you like family and your goal is their goal as well.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
We did 2 sets of 3 IUI’s with Dr. Parry and his team. 1 Set of 3 IUI’s was $1400. The first set of 3 IUI’s was done with Letrozole 7.5mg from Cycle Day 3-7. Each IUI came with 1 Follicle Scan. If you need an additional scan it will be $175. My follicle Scans usually have been around Cycle Day 10 or Cycle Day 11 followed by a Pregnyl Shot (10.000 unit) to start ovulation, which was usually around Cycle Day 11 or Cycle Day 12. The actual IUI happened either on CD 12 or CD 13 depending on my follicle size. We got pregnant on our 3rd IUI but lost the Baby due to a missed miscarriage at around 8weeks. We waited for about 2 months before we started another set of 3 IUI’s with Dr. Parry. All 3 of those resulted unfortunately with negative results.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Positive Steps Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Lauren)
Lauren is still my care coordinator and she is absolutely wonderful. She is very responsive (if I leave a message in the morning at the front desk, she at the latest called me back by the end of the day). Lauren is organized and always happy to answer any questions you might have. The whole team btw. Vicky, Dana, Brittany, etc. they will give you a hug on days you feel sad and really need a hug. You will feel very taken care of!
Describe your experience with Positive Steps Fertility.
This clinic is very clean and just a couple of years old. When you enter the clinic you’re welcomed by very friendly front desk employees like Zoey and Tracy. When I entered this clinic I immediately felt comfortable through their modern interior and design. They all are well organized and seem to communicate with each other about your case. You can feel the team spirit within the employees. Dr. Parry limits himself to around 10 IVF patients per month to keep the highest quality care possible. You will not regret starting your fertility journey with this compassionate team.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
One set of 3 IUI’s is $1400. Each IUI comes with 1 Follicle Scan. Each additional scan costs you $175. A prescription of Letrozole of 30 pills is $10. Dr. Parry has been exceptional. I have had personal setbacks in the plan due to miscarriage and Dr. Parry has made new plans going forward that would best benefit my husband and I. He has told me the pros and cons of every part of our infertility journey. Dr. Parry has put hope into my future that I thought I had lost.
This clinic [Positive Steps Fertility] was easily accessible. I did not have to go through numerous referral processes and different doctors. The staff was able to set me up very quickly and get started on a plan. Strengths I would like to mention are compassion, cleanliness, and overall sensitivity. I have been going to this clinic for a little over 8 months and even though I have had some upsetting news at times I never felt that my clinic was at fault.

Dr. Parry treats my husband and I wonderfully. He has shown us unconditional support even if we chose a plan that wasn’t the first recommended plan.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
I had the Parry Scope done with Dr. Parry. I was given all the info I needed before hand and told that a small percentage has severe pain with the procedure. Because I expected this and was warned I was not caught off guard with the pain. I was also advised the best ways to help treat the pain after the visit. I also had a cycle of letrozole at 7.5 mg. This gave my follicles that we’re too large and caused too high a risk of multiples that would be dangerous for me. Dr. Parry carefully explained to me why it would not be a good idea to try for that cycle in a way that I understood. Soon I will be starting IVF with Dr. Parry and he has personally answered every question that my husband and I have had.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Positive Steps Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Sara NP)
The nursing staff have went above and beyond for my husband and I. They have answered every question that I have and even encouraged me to make a list so that way nothing is forgotten. They have shown such compassion by sitting with me as I cried and even offered encouraging words.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
Soon I will be starting IVF which is rather pricey. They have been upfront about what cost is included and what is not. They even go as far to give a cost if something was to go wrong and further treatment is needed. The staff have made a list of common banks that other patients have used to get a loan for the process. Overall to have the IVF, genetic testing, medications, and transfers it is roughly $20,000.
Describe Preston Parry's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Positive Steps Fertility.
Dr. Parry explained to me that he had made exceptions before but chooses to do single embryo majority of the time. This gives the body time to adapt to the new embryo and prevent complications.

Dr. Parry takes the time to sit and discuss your treatment with you. We have had two personal meetings to discuss where my body is, where it needs to be, and how we were going to get there. I have never felt rushed or like I was just a number to the clinic...[he] bundles his services to try and allow as many chances as possible...He was able to locate polyps in my uterus and explained more in how PCOS affect my ovary follicle count
[Positive Steps Fertility] Clinic is amazing. Fast appointment times. Complimentary drinks and snacks are available which is a nice touch. Quiet atmosphere and very modern look. Exam rooms and bathrooms are clean. There is a private meeting room where the nurse or doctor can go over information with you and it’s a nice change from the exam rooms, more personal.

Dr. Parry is very knowledgeable regarding fertility procedures and treatments. I came to him after two other recommendations. What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?

We have only done oral medications up to this point, with injectables starting within the next week. All cycles were a mixture of both Clomid and Femara. No cycle produced any change and resulted in anovulation

Staff at Positive Steps is phenomenal. The receptionist knows me by name which makes me feel at home. The nurse, Sarah, has answered every question I had and allows me to talk all I need to.

Dr. Parry goes above and beyond to make someone feel special. I felt like he really got to know my husband and myself from day 1, and really explain what we had been missing out on...Dr. Parry is really big on doing what is "right for the patient". He will not transfer more than 2 embryos at a time usually. His approach is usually 1 embryo per transfer for the safety of the mom and baby, however, if someone is wanting to transfer 2 he is open-minded...
IVF monitoring at Positive Steps was so impressive. Even on Saturday scans everything was so well-organized. We always knew what to expect and never had to wait longer than 10 min for an apt...Vicki is the charge nurse - She goes above and beyond and I know personally called me back several times after clinic hours. She also sat and comforted me after our miscarriage, she truly cares about her patients...
How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr. Parry was truly a "God-send". He was so compassionate and intelligent with everything he does. We had a lot of setbacks to include OHSS with IVF cycle (which he cared for me on a Sunday- Father's Day to be exact when he could have easily been at home spending time with his own family), and a miscarriage at 7-8 weeks after first embryo transfer. We never once felt like he didn't care, and we actually looked forward to seeing him (even though no one is really excited about going to a fertility clinic). He is the most intelligent person I have ever met, and the Parryscope is brillant.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
See him sooner than I did! My biggest regret was that we waited so long before seeing a specialist!

Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
We did 3 rounds of IUI with Letrozole 12.5 mg and a HCG trigger injection. All 3 rounds were unsuccessful. We then did an IVF cycle with Follistim/Menopur/Lupron and had 46 eggs retrieved resulting in 11 embryos. One transfer resulted in a miscarriage. The second transfer resulted in the live birth of our daughter.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Positive Steps Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Vicki, Brittany, Dana, Lauren)
Vicki is the charge nurse- she will never know how much she means to me and other patients. She goes above and beyond and I know personally called me back several times after clinic hours. She also sat and comforted me after our miscarriage, she truly cares about her patients! Lauren was always so welcoming and organized. She always made sure we knew what next steps were, and was always very supportive. Brittany (who is now his NP) was so warm and welcoming. She made us feel comfortable from day 1, like we had known her for years.

I cannot think of ANY weaknesses for this clinic. Hands down best medical office we have ever been to. Everyone is so warm and welcoming from the get go. They make you feel like they have known you forever, and you are their family.
