Dr. Goldman took over my case in August 2023...was very gentle with me when talking about proceeding with donor eggs...She told me she expects a good transfer with a high implantation success. But at the same time told me there is also a chance that it would not be a success...embryo transfer
[Northwell Health (FKA North Shore Long Island Jewish)] strength is that staff...very aware of the sensitive issues...do feel they approach each of use differently and gently...only negative thing that I will say about the clinic, is the billing department and the lack of communication...should explain, in great detail, what is expected from the patient prior to beginning treatment.
How was your experience with Randi Heather Goldman at Northwell Health (FKA North Shore Long Island Jewish)?
Dr. Goldman took over my case in August 2023. If fact, the last time I spoke with Dr. Cohen was in July of 2023. During this visit, he was explaining to me that he was leaving, and that Dr. Goldman would be taking over and how good she was. He also explained how he went over my chart with her. So, she was well aware of my case before I first saw her in August of 2023. When I did see her during that visit, she was very encouraging. She told me she expects a good transfer with a high implantation success. But at the same time told me there is also a chance that it would not be a success.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Randi Heather Goldman at Northwell Health (FKA North Shore Long Island Jewish)?
To follow her advice and that she’s awesome.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Randi Heather Goldman at Northwell Health (FKA North Shore Long Island Jewish)?
Dr. Cohen was moving to Lennox Hill Hospital, so Dr. Goldman was taking over his cases. Before we sat down, she was well aware of my situation and what I had already been through with all of the previous disappointments. She was very gentle with me when talking about proceeding with donor eggs. Having to use donor eggs was a hard issue with me.
Describe the protocols Randi Heather Goldman used in your cycles at Northwell Health (FKA North Shore Long Island Jewish) and their degree of success.
Since I had done a majority of the work with Dr. Cohen the only thing that I had to do with Dr. Goldman was the embryo transfer. We did not do any egg retrievals together. The first transfer I did with her resulted in a miscarriage. The second transfer I did with her did resulted in a positive pregnancy test and I am currently 15 weeks pregnant.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Northwell Health (FKA North Shore Long Island Jewish). (Assigned nurse: Marianne Farkas, RN)
Marianne was very aware of my many struggles and disappointments during my care under Dr. Cohen. She approached me with kid gloves.
Describe your experience with Northwell Health (FKA North Shore Long Island Jewish).
Like I said before, the clinic’s strength is the nursing staff. The staff is very aware of the sensitive issues that these women are facing trying to conceive. I do feel they approach each of use differently and gently. The only negative thing that I will say about the clinic, is the billing department and the lack of communication. They really should explain, in great detail, what is expected from the patient prior to beginning treatment.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Randi Heather Goldman at Northwell Health (FKA North Shore Long Island Jewish).
By the time I was under the care of Dr. Goldman I found out that I had maxed out of benefits with my Health Insurance Manga Care. So I took out a personal loan to pay for the transfer.
Describe Randi Heather Goldman's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Northwell Health (FKA North Shore Long Island Jewish).
Because of my age. Dr. Goldman would only transfer one embryo at a time. She said it was too dangerous to transfer 2 embryo's.
What specific things went wrong at Northwell Health (FKA North Shore Long Island Jewish)?
  • Lost or damaged samples
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Northwell Health (FKA North Shore Long Island Jewish).
Like I said before, when I was under the care of Dr. Cohen. At one point, very early on, (during my very first retrieval). The clinic lost the sperm sample that my boyfriend gave. They were supposed to analyze and save the sample. But because of miscommunication between the doctor and lab they analyzed and discarded the sample.
