Dr Sneeringer is open to listening to any ideas or suggestions...was very through with all the lab work...feels very present during appointments and willing to answers any questions...frozen transfer because my progesterone was high. How was your experience with Rita Sneeringer at Boston IVF?
Dr Sneeringer is open to listening to any ideas or suggestions. She was very through with all the lab work, (compared to my previous doctor).
I have experienced that I have to wait about 15 - 20 minutes for my appointments with her. She feels very present during appointments and willing to answers any questions.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Rita Sneeringer at Boston IVF?
It takes a few months to get a first appointment with Dr. Sneeringer and she often runs late.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Rita Sneeringer at Boston IVF?
Dr Sneeringer does try to find out a little more about you as a person and not just a patient who is struggling to get pregnant.
Describe the protocols Rita Sneeringer used in your cycles at Boston IVF and their degree of success.
I completed an IVF round with Dr Sneeringer and the protocol is below:
For the retrieval:
Estradiol twice a day orally starting on day 21 until first day of period.
On day 3 started stem 300 units of gonal and 150 of menopur and continued this until day 15, on day 16 did a trigger shot of ovidrel.
Had to do a frozen transfer because my progesterone was high.
Did a natural cycle so had a ultrasound on day 10 and a trigger on day 10. transferred 7 days later.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Boston IVF.
I did not have a designated nurse, which was disappointing. It felt like a different nurse was calling me and they were not familiar with me or my medical plan. On some calls, I don't think the nurse had looked at my chart before they called. Since this was my second clinic, I knew high level the routine of an IVF cycle. If this was my first time with IVF, I would have been lost.
This was much different than my experience at my first clinic.
Describe your experience with Boston IVF.
I did like how they do everything in Waltham. The retrieval, the transfer, and they had acupuncture on site.
Also the nurses will say they will contact you. Sometimes that means a phone call, or an email or a message via the patient portal. It never seems consistent. And if you are waiting for results their voicemail says, don't leave a message until after 4.
Boston IVF won't do anything until you pay upfront. (unlike my previous clinic where you could pay in installments) These procedures are not cheap. The round of IVF I had at Boston IVF, I did not have good insurance coverage. If something was not approved in prior auths, the financial coordinator would call and say you owe $XX.XX amount before we can move on. When I asked if they appealed the insurance, the financial coordinator took a month to do so. They would rather charge you that patience than work with the insurance. Which caused me extra stress during this stressful time.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Rita Sneeringer at Boston IVF.
I paid about $15k out of pocket. I did not have great insurance coverage when seeing Dr. Sneeringer.
Describe Rita Sneeringer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Boston IVF.
Only had 1 embryo to transfer. If I had more to transfer, we would have since I am over 40.
Dr. Rita Sneeringer is a compassionate, kind and empathetic doctor. I didn't feel ashamed or shy to share intimate medical details with her. Something I really value about her is she is honest but also understanding. I didn't get a sense of judgement for her which I sometimes feel with doctors. She actually praised me for our decision to pursue fertility preservation, which really made me feel confident in our decision...she is happy to give you scientifically backed answers
Overall everyone [at Boston IVF] is very professional, communicative and honest. I will say, I wish that instead of phone calls during the cycle (i.e. while on the stim protocols) we could get an email with next steps...Cons- You can only call during business hours. This is a little frusterating. I wish you could utilize their app to communicate with your care team. The calling got old quick...Dr. Sneeringer is a very kind, direct physician. She was patient with us throughout all of our initial questions while she was doing our consult. When it was time to move into the ER stage, her team was very responsive.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Rita Sneeringer at Boston IVF?
Make sure to read all emails thoroughly prior to your consult. Its a LOT of information they need from you, but if you give yourself enough time to fill out everything properly (forms, medical history, clearing with insurance, etc.) you will have a seamless experience. Also! Bring your questions, she is happy to give you scientifically backed answers (as opposed to Dr. Google).

Describe the protocols Rita Sneeringer used in your cycles at Boston IVF and their degree of success.
We did fertility preservation, I am 29 (F) and my husband is 31 (M). Total number of days on medication = 10. u= units.
My calendar included Gonal-F (150 u), Menopur (75 u) for the first 4 days. Days 5-9 Ganirelex was added (one box, 0.25 mg), for reference this was 5 days of all 3 meds. Day 10 was my trigger shot, Lupon 80 u.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Boston IVF. (Assigned nurse: Amanda Cincotta )
The nurses were the MVP of the procedure! They call you and let you know when to start, what times to take the medications, what to expect in terms of side effects and help assist with booking the next ultrasound/blood work apts.
Describe your experience with Boston IVF.
Pros: Very convenient as they have several locations. I was lucky to be in between two sites. Their Lexington location is open all year round, even holidays. This was helpful for my one ultrasound/bloodwork apt that fell on a Sunday. Overall everyone is very professional, communicative and honest. I will say, I wish that instead of phone calls during the cycle (i.e. while on the stim protocols) we could get an email with next steps. Sometimes I would be working, in the middle of a task etc and its not consistent in terms of when you expect a call. It would be helpful if they called and pushed an update with the same instructions on the app. They do leave voicemails, but sometimes its nice to be able to ask questions without calling, leaving a voicemail for them and expecting a call during business hours.
The egg retrieval day was INCREDIBLE. I am not exaggerating when I say I was blown away with how seamless everything went. I was in and out in 2 hours. The nurses, the doctor who performed the retrieval (who I can't remember, it wasn't my dr. but he was so calm and kind) and the anesthiologist were genuinely so amazing. I couldn't have imagined a better care team.
Cons- You can only call during business hours. This is a little frusterating. I wish you could utilize their app to communicate with your care team. The calling got old quick!
A couple of notes for future couples- this is an intense process. We had an unexpected family illness and it was very hard to travel during this. When you are ready, you must commit. You have a ton of apts (they are fast, but you still need to be home). Just be prepared for an intense couple of weeks once your forms and insurance are cleared to continue!
Describe the costs associated with your care under Rita Sneeringer at Boston IVF.
My health insurance covered the cost of the medications, but I looked and it would have costed a whopping 18K without insurance coverage. The copays cost me $110
The cycle cost $9,135.00
The genetic testing (after insurance partially contributed) was $60 for both of us.
Note: My employer works with Carrot Fertility to provide supplemental funds for all of this, up to 20K. I spent about 11K.
Describe Rita Sneeringer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Boston IVF.
N/A, we did preservation for future use.
What specific things went wrong at Boston IVF?
Failed to call in prescriptions to pharmacy
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Boston IVF.
Just took a little longer for my perscriptions to be sent over- we had a miscommunication on when they were supposed to be sent. But it was quickly corrected.
[Dr. Rita Sneeringer] was easy to speak with, gave facts in a kind manner...She is conservative with the medical technology and prefers to "put the eggs through hoops" with lab growth then genetic testing...does not prefer to have Day 3, Day 5 transfers. Prefers genetic screening then frozen transfer. Prefers 2 embryos at most...I felt she brought up donor eggs too early after one unsuccessful cycle
[Boston IVF] Primary care nurse was professional but not compassionate. Made statements that weren't necessary. I had to insist on email to have better communication...all my surgeries were also at the clinic and I felt at ease with the surgical team...Egg freezing cycles = $15,000-17,000. 3 elective frozen egg cycles. Human growth hormone = $3,000.
How was your experience with Rita Sneeringer at Boston IVF?
Dr. Sneeringer is probably one of the best in the industry. She is compassionate, friendly, and genuinely wants to see you succeed. She knows when to also be firm and assert her expertise. She did let me ask about novel protocols, etc. The one issue is she is conservative and plays it safe. I was also using frozen eggs. She insisted on developing the eggs past 5 day blasts and having genetic testing on both fresh and frozen eggs. After several failed cycles I asked for a Day 3 transfer and she agreed to a Day 5 transfer. That helped me conceive. But we used every egg and I have no frozen eggs left. I often wish we had done a Day 5 transfer on earlier cycles. Or we had frozen the one remaining embryo that was left with the frozen egg at Day 5. I may have been able to have one more child?
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Rita Sneeringer at Boston IVF?
Dr. Sneeringer is one of the best fertility specialists. She is genuine and cares. Some people prefer a stronger voice, but she is professional and asserts her medical expertise when necessary. She is conservative with the medical technology and prefers to "put the eggs through hoops" with lab growth then genetic testing. I felt she brought up donor eggs too early after one unsuccessful cycle. But otherwise, every interaction with her was professional and with the highest level of medical attention and care.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Rita Sneeringer at Boston IVF?
MD was easy to speak with, gave facts in a kind manner. Head nurse had little bedside manner and even made a statement saying that I shouldn't expect good results as I have low ovarian reserve. It was psychologically difficult process and did not need to be exacerbated.
Describe the protocols Rita Sneeringer used in your cycles at Boston IVF and their degree of success.
Cycle 1 - 4 Frozen, Fresh retrieval
Cycle 2 - 3 Frozen, Fresh retrieval
Cycle 3 - 0 Frozen, Fresh retrieval - Genetic Screening - 1 AA embryo, Frozen transfer
Cycle 4 - 7 Frozen, Fresh retrieval - 1 BB embryo and one morula, Day 5 transfer, 1 conception (no genetic screening due to day 5 transfer)
Strategies used: 7% chance of frozen eggs working, so best to have fresh cycles with frozen eggs. Always use genetic screening to be safe even with eggs frozen at age 35 and 36.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Boston IVF. (Assigned nurse: Meg Kennedy)
Primary care nurse was professional but not compassionate. Made statements that weren't necessary. I had to insist on email to have better communication. Also, I'm in meetings all day, open office, and wireless firewalls for mobile phone issues. The secondary nurse, Bonnie, was much easier to work with, understood how/why I needed to communication using certain means.
Describe your experience with Boston IVF.
I chose a suburban clinic and not a hospital so that I could receive better 1 on 1 attention. It was much more pleasant than going into a clinical setting. I liked that all my surgeries were also at the clinic and I felt at ease with the surgical team. Weakness was easily being able to get to the clinic. Luckily, my physician also worked in a clinic near my home and I was able to get monitoring and blood work there and still make it to work on time.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Rita Sneeringer at Boston IVF.
Describe Rita Sneeringer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Boston IVF.
Dr. Sneeringer does not prefer to have Day 3, Day 5 transfers. Prefers genetic screening then frozen transfer. Prefers 2 embryos at most. Conservative with number of embryos to be transferred.
What specific things went wrong at Boston IVF?
Failed to send your chart to another clinic
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Boston IVF.
I personally took paper documents to another IVF clinic. An electronic transfer would have been easier. However, that was the only issue. There were never drug Rx mistakes or surgical mistakes.
She [Dr. Sneeringer] always takes the time to answer all of our questions in our meetings, and to give us the best data she had access to. She has been candid when things didn't go as planned and has been open to my input in how I'd like to proceed...She's been open to us using a known donor...She was very helpful and compassionate with our IVF cycle; I had OHSS requiring paracentesis and she reviewed the results of my diagnostic ultrasound herself and also changed her schedule around so that she could do the transfer that ultimately resulted in my son, which I appreciated.
My primary nurse [at Cardone & Associates] is fantastic and responsive, though she was slightly less responsive as our cycles went on...The clinic is very LGBTQ-friendly. They are not strong at helping get all the ducks lined up for insurance; I had to do a lot of asking to make sure we had everything and there were things we would have missed that would have caused delays if I hadn't done that. (The actual insurance coordinator is great; it's lining up with the nursing staff all the clinical stuff that's needed for particular approvals that's less great.) They also don't always pro-actively plan for how to handle the next treatment step; if you want to avoid missing a month, you'll have to advocate here too.
How was your experience with Rita Sneeringer at Cardone & Associates?
She's very up on the current research, which I really appreciated. She has a light hand with monitoring, which I appreciate logistically (I have a toddler and tried 6 cycles before going to IVF) and seems to still get good results in the sense that I feel confident she's triggering around the right time. She's happy to answer all questions, though I don't really have a way to contact her directly between appointments. She's been open to us using a known donor. I had to ask to get any advice on what I could do to support conception; to me, that was a negative, but I can imagine that there are cases when you just don't want to hear it any more! She was very helpful and compassionate with our IVF cycle; I had OHSS requiring paracentesis and she reviewed the results of my diagnostic ultrasound herself and also changed her schedule around so that she could do the transfer that ultimately resulted in my son, which I appreciated.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Rita Sneeringer at Cardone & Associates?
Think of all your questions ahead of appointments (I wrote mine down!) so you can ask them while you've got her!

Describe the protocols Rita Sneeringer used in your cycles at Cardone & Associates and their degree of success.
I did three cycles using FSH plus an HcG trigger, inseminating at home. My luteal phase grew shorter during these cycles, so at my request, she added progesterone support to the luteal phase for the next three cycles. This is the protocol on which I successfully conceived my daughter, so we were both optimistic that it would work! After six cycles, my insurance supported IVF. We discussed mini-IVF but I wasn't sure we'd be done after one more kid, so we decided on full stimulation. She used the standard OCP "short" protocol and allowed me to use an alternative birth control (Nuvaring) that I knew I tolerated better for downregulation and then an antagonist protocol. My progesterone was too high for a fresh transfer, so we did freeze-all (which turned out to be smart when I developed OHSS) and then for the transfer she recommended medicated (estrogen+progesterone) because my cycles were not regular. I got pregnant on my first transfer.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Cardone & Associates. (Assigned nurse: Jen Iordaschescu)
My primary nurse is fantastic and responsive, though she was slightly less responsive as our cycles went on. There's not always 100% great communication between the nurses and sometimes if I talk to another nurse, there's confusion or back-and-forth.

My insurance covered my treatment, so I only paid office visit and prescription copays.
Describe Rita Sneeringer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Cardone & Associates.
At my age, my doctor transfers one embryo as long as there's one of good quality, and two if not. She was clear about the risk of twins even with a single transfer.
Dr. Sneeringer recommended eSET for our first transfers, but after 2 unsuccessful tries, was open to transferring two for us...we appreciated her kindness and bedside manner. She was always up to date on our case, empathetic, and confident. She was open to any and all questions, and was thorough in explaining things to us. She tailored my testing to me specifically based on family history (adding some additional genetic tests after discussing my mother's fertility history)
Boston IVF is definitely a huge clinic, but we wanted that. We wanted a clinic that was invested in our success. Make sure you get to know your nurse coordinator, and know that you'll always leave a message on the nurse line and it will be returned in a timely manner. All of the lab and ultrasound staff are amazing as well. Morning monitoring is a seamless procedure at Boston IVF.

I did a basic antagonist protocol - 10 days of BCP, then 11 days of Gonal-F with the last 5 days adding Cetrotide. I did Ovidrel trigger for all procedures. She kept me on a mid-range protocol and wanted middle-of-the-road results for me, which she said we achieved.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Boston IVF.
The nursing staff was excellent, all of my medications were ordered without hiccup. My calls were always returned in a timely manner, and even weekend and after-hours staff were wonderful.

Describe Rita Sneeringer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Boston IVF.
Dr. Sneeringer recommended eSET for our first transfers, but after 2 unsuccessful tries, was open to transferring two for us.
I wasn’t getting the results I needed to [with Dr. Rita Sneeringer], so we added HGH and I finally got an embryo to transfer (has not been transferred yet)...was always warm and welcoming when I saw her. She was up to date on my case and if she wasn’t sure about something she takes the time to look through my chart to make sure she provides an appropriate answer... When I wasn’t getting the results I wanted, and I did some research, I made suggestions and although my clinic mostly didn’t use the medicine I was suggesting to try, she was willing to go outside the box and try something different.
There was miscommunication on the new protocol since it was an “out of the box” medication I was using, the nurses [at Boston IVF] weren’t used to calling it in to the pharmacy and prescribing it. So we had to wait another cycle to get things in order...The clinic as an overall has been great. The retrieval process has been amazing, they’ve always made sure I am comfortable with warm blankets, heating pads, nausea meds, etc. Generally you need to book appointments far ahead with the doctors as they fill up pretty quickly, even for post-op appointments.
How was your experience with Rita Sneeringer at Boston IVF?
Dr. Sneeringer put me on a pretty popular protocol that I had been on before. When I wasn’t getting the results I wanted, and I did some research, I made suggestions and although my clinic mostly didn’t use the medicine I was suggesting to try, she was willing to go outside the box and try something different. She has always been warm and kind at our appointments and I have never once felt rushed which is a huge difference from a previous clinic I was at.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Rita Sneeringer at Boston IVF?
Ask questions. Do your research and if you want to try something new, ask, she is very open to experimenting with different protocols if you aren’t getting where you want to be.

There was one nursing staff that seemed very harsh and not compassionate at all. Obviously it was hard to deal with her. However there was another nurse that couldn’t be nicer and always put in all the effort she could to get you the answers you need and make sure you understood everything.

The doctor [Dr. Sneeringer] was very pleasant and at the same time realistic. We were given the facts and although we did not go as far as she planned us needing to go, we were always informed...VERY thorough in her workup which ultimately led to our baby girl we are expecting. If the workup was not so thorough I never would have found the reason I kept losing pregnancies. We are forever grateful.
[The nurses at Boston IVF were] Always friendly and so happy for us when the time came...Sometimes you will be called by and NP and it may be someone you have not met before. In my opinion it did not matter as long as I was being cared for in a timely manner. With other people it may matter and you may want a one on one relationship with the doctor...I was given baby aspirin for MTHFR and elevated PAI 1. I was also given metformin 1500mg daily for elevated insulin with no other signs of PCOS.

Just keep going! Keep plugging away. There are many roads to becoming a parent and if one doesn't work try the next. It is an extremely difficult experience but nothing is more worth it.

I was given baby aspirin for MTHFR and elevated PAI 1. I was also given metformin 1500mg daily for elevated insulin with no other signs of PCOS. Once the next pregnancy was achieved we were given Crinone 8% gel daily which I believe was the best thing that helped our daughter grow. I continued crinone for 28 weeks although it was only recommended until 10. I just had too big of a feeling that she needed it and my progesterone was low multiple times when I had lab work done. Our daughter is now coming in just a week!

The lab work was the most expensive being about 800 dollars but at the time our insurance was not the greatest. The medications totaled about 35 per month which was great!
Dr Sneeringer was aggressive (which is what I was looking for) and yet remained completely approachable throughout the process. She took time to answer all of my questions and made sure we were comfortable with what we were doing and why...I came to see Dr. Sneeringer after 3 cycles w/ another practice. She diagnosed the issue right away (my eggs weren't maturing) and devised a plan to fix this issue by increasing my medicated cycle. Perhaps it was a fresh pair of eyes, but the results for #4, the cycle w/ Dr. Sneeringer, were by far better than the previous 3. I had 2 embryos implanted and both took and we save a 3rd embryo in cryo. The results were fantastic.

How was your experience with Rita Sneeringer at Boston IVF?
Dr. Sneeringer was clearly smart and experienced - she demonstrated that she was keeping up on treatment evolutions and clearly had spent time reviewing my history. She was also highly approachable and warm, which was a great combination for me personally. I was able to get all of my questions answered, which gave me confidence, and still felt like a person, which made it bearable.

Describe Rita Sneeringer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Boston IVF.
Dr. Sneeringer explained the risks and potential outcomes and ultimately let me make the choice.
I had a positive experience with Dr. Sneeringer. I felt she listened and gave thorough explanations for both procedures and the reasoning behind it. She was compassionate and supportive. Ultimately though, I interacted with her nurses on a more daily basis. I would see Dr. Sneeringer to follow up and go over results, but my day to day treatment (injections, monitoring, etc) were done by the support staff... I wasn't getting (or perhaps just wasn't understanding) the information about the protocols.
The people at the clinic [Boston IVF], because they do this every day, would talk about procedures or results like I should already know what they were talking about. A lot of times, though, I didn't, which was very frustrating...I was not crazy about my experience with [Nurse] Carol. I felt she was very scattered and rushed, and I never really understood what was coming next. I asked a lot of questions and I started to feel like she thought I was taking up too much of her time.

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Rita Sneeringer at Boston IVF?
The first cycle was the hardest, because I felt like I didn't understand exactly what was going on. The people at the clinic, because they do this every day, would talk about procedures or results like I should already know what they were talking about. A lot of times, though, I didn't, which was very frustrating.
Describe the protocols Rita Sneeringer used in your cycles at Boston IVF and their degree of success.
Unfortunately I don't remember the specifics of my protocols. I went through one IUI and three unsuccessful cycles of IVF.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Boston IVF. (Assigned nurse: They were two- Meg and Carol)
I was not crazy about my experience with Carol. I felt she was very scattered and rushed, and I never really understood what was coming next. I asked a lot of questions and I started to feel like she thought I was taking up too much of her time. I do want to add that those feelings were from my first cycle, which was all new and very overwhelming. I did two more cycles after that and had a much better experience with her. I don't know if that was because she improved or because I already had a basic idea of what to expect, or both.
Describe your experience with Boston IVF.
The front desk staff are great, as are the phlebotomists and the ultrasound techs- these are the people that you see on a regular basis. The hours of the clinic were good- during the monitoring period I could have my blood and ultrasounds done starting at 6am so I didn't have to miss work, which was VERY helpful.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Rita Sneeringer at Boston IVF.
I was very fortunate that our insurance covered almost everything but the genetic testing, which I believe was around $2000.
Describe Rita Sneeringer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Boston IVF.
We chose to transfer one embryo at a time, as my husband was terrified of multiples. Our egg harvesting was not great, so after genetic testing we generally only had one viable embryo anyway.
What specific things went wrong at Boston IVF?
Provided conflicting information
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Boston IVF.
Nothing specific- it was mainly feeling like I wasn't getting (or perhaps just wasn't understanding) the information about the protocols.
I liked that she was candid about the reality of our situation. Very compassionate in her approach. She gave us options at all stages and I felt she gave us good information for us to make informed decisions.
Strengths: - early morning hours for monitoring appts. I.e. blood and ultrasound (before normal business hours) -appts for procedures and monitoring seemed to run extremely efficiently -in house notary -multiple Dr's available in clinic Weaknesses : - no early or late hours for Dr. Consults normally. -notary hours only during normal business hours. -billing for embryo storage was difficult to understand

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Rita Sneeringer at Boston IVF?
Ask if after business hours are available for consults.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Rita Sneeringer at Boston IVF?
Never rushed us-always willing to take as long as we needed during apts to answer our questions. Always took the time to try to explain complex medical jargon.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Boston IVF. (Assigned nurse: Meg)
Meg was assigned to me halfway through my treatment-and she's been fabulous. The previous nurse had been extremely scatterbrained and not patient in explaining process, treatment steps, etc. Meg has been the complete opposite, and always is patient when explaining (and re-explaining) things to me. The one thing I think could be better is that since different staff handle different portions of the treatment, that sometimes I would have to speak to multiple people -and it would have been easier if theI ran responsibilities overlapped.

Strengths:
- early morning hours for monitoring appts. I.e. blood and ultrasound (before normal business hours)

-in house notary
-multiple Dr's available in clinic
Weaknesses :
- no early or late hours for Dr. Consults normally.
-notary hours only during normal business hours.
-billing for embryo storage was difficult to understand ( They bill you all at once -and only after questioning it, I was told I could pay monthly. Would have preferred to have had that clearly outlined in the billing)

She [Dr. Rita Sneeringer] is open, compassionate and honest. Ask her whatever you want and she will give you a straight answer...She explained everything clearly, including treatment strategies. She was compassionate and relatable. Every step of the way I felt she was making decisions based on current research and my unique situation....She tweaked each cycle based on the results of the last. I think the transfer MDs also play a huge roll. Some transfers didn't seem great but the last one you could tell the doctors thought the embryos were placed perfectly and bingo!
Strength [of Boston IVF]: There practices seem directly correlated to research. ex. Progesterone taken orally is as effective as intramuscular shots and much easier on patients typically. Weakness: Nothing major. Sometimes hard to have certain assistants call back in a timely fashion....The Post Op nurses (for egg retrieval) as well as the phlebotomists were so compassionate and wonderful. I felt nurtured and they helped keep spirits up. What a great team. I found myself thinking, "It takes a village to make a baby".

Describe the protocols Rita Sneeringer used in your cycles at Boston IVF and their degree of success.
Given my age we decided quantity might be necessary as quality might not be there. I did respond very well to the meds and produced lots of eggs. The last time (successful cycle) she stimmed a bit more slowly and we got more high quality graded embryos. She tweaked each cycle based on the results of the last. I think the transfer MDs also play a huge roll. Some transfers didn't seem great but the last one you could tell the doctors thought the embryos were placed perfectly and bingo!

My insurance covered everything but I have phenomenal insurance and live in Massachusetts where laws force insurance companies to cover infertility treatments. Not sure this is applicable to most people.
Given my age some places might have suggested multiple embryo transfer but she [Dr. Rita Sneeringer] took into account my blood tests and personal preference and went ahead with eSET...She was extremely approachable, happy to discuss any questions I had. Understood the thought processes that had lead to these decisions...She was friendly and warm but also professional and competent. I felt very confident that she knew what she was doing and was very good at her job. She answered all my questions and I didn't feel like she was running any unnecessary tests. I had a great experience.
[Boston IVF is a] Lovely facility, liked the fact that they had acupuncture/holistic medicine options if you were so inclined. Very flexible appointments with offices at other sites able to do some of the testing. The car park was a little small but that's about it...It was very easy to get hold of the nurse, she responded to messages left for her in a very timely manner. She clearly understood the process very well but also was able to check with the doctor if she wasn't sure of something...Efficient well oiled machine, I usually opted for early morning appointments before work so I was usually the first or second patient. They brought me in quickly, were friendly and helpful. I never had any trouble scheduling appointments

I love her [Dr. Rita Sneeringer] bedside manners, she always makes me feel very comfortable. She makes us aware of every possible outcome, And no question is stupid. I’ve spent over an hour in her office just talking about our plan and options and never felt rushed. I appreciate those little things.... She has such a positive outlook on us, and our situation. She’s always makes us feel like she has our backs!
It may seems a bit disorganized or over whelming but i feel as tho that’s because they [Boston IVF-Boston] have so many patients. It depends on where everyone is on their cycle some Days are just crazy and the next time it could be so slow.... My latest cycle I was using 450units of gonal F, 150units of menopur, with cetrotide being just added as well!... I never had a problem m booking orgetting in for a monitoring appointment. They Always seemed very to be willing to take me!

Describe Rita Sneeringer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Boston IVF.
We have done multiple transfers each time to get a better chance of at least one sticking!
she [Dr. Sneeringer] made adjustments to the second with increased menopur and gonal F and used cetrotide as well to increase mature eggs...has taken time to listen time after time. She takes time to explain things and address my concerns. She sets my mind at ease... is patient and understanding of everything. She listens to questions and concerns and provides care plans that work for me. She doesn't hesitate to explain things further when needed and has been available for questions.
Some members of the nursing staff [at Boston IVF] are incredible. I can turn to them to settle my anxieties and get the answers that I need. One nurse in particular has also been through the fertility process and really understands. Other nurses could use some help with bed side manners and communication...Waiting for one of my beta results I did not get a phone call. One nurse believed another nurse had relayed the results as I had contact her during the day. There was also an issue of the nurse believing she left me a voicemail but I did not receive one.

Dr. Sneeringer was both candid and kind -- exactly what I like to see in a doctor. She never minimized our struggles, but she was also very realistic about statistics. She also always had a game plan in mind. She's an extremely capable RE.
I thought the clinic [Boston IVF in Waltham] was great. The only criticism I have is about other patients. Some are insensitive and will bring children into the main clinic waiting area, when there is a separate family waiting area. I would appreciate it if the clinic enforced the rule that kids should be in the family waiting area. When you're in the infertility trenches, it's really hard to be surrounded by smiling babies. Some parents are also inconsiderate and allow their kids to run around, yelling and bumping into other patients.
How was your experience with Rita Sneeringer at Boston IVF?
Dr. Sneeringer approached us with empathy and understanding. She was also candid and straightforward about the realities of our situation. She struck a perfect balance in my opinion -- she didn't sugar-coat things, but she always made us feel that we were being heard, and she always looked for new solutions.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Rita Sneeringer at Boston IVF?
Dr. Sneeringer is a highly knowledgable and capable RE. It's rare for treatment plans to work perfectly the first time, but that is not a reflection on the doctor. The key is finding a doctor who is willing to brainstorm solutions and who will use your past results to adjust your treatment. I think she's great.

Dr. Rita has taken her time during consultations to answer my questions and give me medical advice. She has been kind and understanding trying her best to help me achieve pregnancy...I am working with a gestational carrier, she was very good at carefully screening my carrier...One embryo transfer was highly recommended but two embryos was not denied for us.
[Boston IVF] Strength: communication, promptness, and thoroughness of their screenings. Both nurses and the doctor are very kind, compassionate and respond promptly to emails. Weakness: wait time for appointments is pretty long, can take anything between 4-6 weeks to get an appointment...The costs were pretty high, higher than other clinics I’ve worked with

She would explain all the possible outcomes but I never felt pressured to do anything. She was really aggressive (in a good way) and I got pregnant with my first Ivf !...Dr. Sneeringer was patient and kind. She walked me through each possible outcome forwards and backwards.
[At Boston IVF] We did 3 timed cycles with ovulation induction and 2 iui cycles before a freeze alll Ivf retrieval and transfer. She had me freeze all to allow my body recovery time from the hormones and give me a better chance of getting pregnant with the transfer...I had a lot of anxiety which she and her staff worked to calm..Sometimes it's a long wait for testing in the morning but the staff is amazing

She [Dr. Sneeringer] called me from her vacation when I thought I was miscarrying. She is a very good doctor. Rita was lovely and kind and referred me to the Domar therapists when I was emotionally struggling.

I did not have much communication with the doctor [Rita Sneeringer] other than the initial consult and then a meeting at the end to review the cycle. She did not attempt to connect to us or help make us feel comfortable with the situation we were about to go through...
The nursing staff [at Boston IVF] was unremarkable and not particularly memorable. Don't have many comments about them. I do remember the testing staff, particularly ultrasound technicians telling me not to complain if I was experiencing pain...Very focused on the money, they run behind on appointments for retrieval and transfer. The testing staff was never very friendly, phlebotomists and ultrasound technicians jump to my mind.

[Dr. Rita Sneeringer] was very personable, patient and sympathetic towards our situation. She was extremely knowledgeable and approached each meeting with customized recommendations based on our preferences, and how my body was responding to treatment...We felt completely comfortable and confident in her plan of action. We had A LOT of questions and she was extremely patient. We can’t say enough great things about her. I’ve already recommended her to several friends and coworkers.
We did a freeze all egg retrieval, phs testing and fet [at Boston IVF]...Clinic strengths: organized, atmosphere is nice, clean, staff is friendly Clinic weaknesses: typically a little slow, road clinic is on has major pot holes- more of just a general commuting annoyance...Schedule your initial appointment sooner rather than later...books up quickly...Dr Sneeringer was very personable, patient and sympathetic towards our situation.
