RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates
Dr. Greene was very optimistic about our chances for success, our results were surprising to everyone - zero viable eggs retrieved. During our regroup, he was compassionate, caring and encouraged us to consider donor eggs. When asked what he would change about our protocol if we were to try again with our own eggs, his response was unclear...we only interacted with him 3 times (consult, retrieval, regroup)...ask about expected results and best/worst case scenarios. Push for details in changes to protocols if needed.
[nurse at Conceptions Reproductive Associates] was very informative and caring. She was clear that even though our chances of success were high based on our tests, the real story will unfold when the eggs are retrieved and the quality is known. She was 100% right and we should have heard this message from the doctor. She followed up after our failed cycle and was incredibly compassionate, kind and caring...After our first cycle I had no complaints about our clinic. They provided great info and answered all our questions. It wasn’t until we switched clinics that I realized the level of communication and organization was not quite as good as our second clinic....

Dr. Greene is kind and knowledgeable...often seems distracted during our visits and burned out. It was really upsetting when he didn't even reach out after my miscarriage. When I ask him specific questions about my treatment or concerns he acts annoyed...Be willing to advocate for yourself...has a preference for single embryo transfer...did a donor embryo transfer cycle with Dr. Greene which resulted in a miscarriage at 7 weeks.
The billing department [at Conceptions Reproductive Associates] is frustrating to work with. The nursing staff and the PA's are amazing...Tanya and the entire nursing staff at Conceptions are incredible...has a preference for single embryo transfer...had to pay a $4,500 "donor embryo coordination fee" which was not billable to insurance. All of the fertility treatments are extremely overpriced

He [Dr. Greene] was always personable and knew what our situation was The group has a lot of patients so I can see how you can feel like a number but the staff is great... he recommended only transferring one because of risks with multiples and we listened... We went to him in April, started the process in late May, and I'm currently 7w2d pregnant with my first. The nursing staff has been great and it's been as smooth of a process as this can be (knowing this is never a smooth process)
one of the best success rates in the country, very professional staff [Conceptions Reproductive Associates], organized. Downsides: it's so large so you don't see your doctor as much and switch nurses through every section- so that can be good or bad if you like your nurse or not. We were fortunately successful on our first round.... there was confusion between one pharmacy and if they got the prescription or not so it took a few phone calls between the two.

Dr. Greene spent a significant amount of time with us during appointments...autoimmune protocol...used a phospholipid infusion protocol pre and post transfer, along with hydroxychloroquine pre-transfer through our first trimester...explained everything thoroughly, and backed it with current research/evidence
[RMA of Colorado ] Strengths: Excellent physicians and embryologists. Friendly front desk staff. Wonderful phlebotomists. Good financial office support. Clean and efficient amenities. Excellent ultrasound techs...Cons: Nursing communication needs improvement.
How was your experience with Robert Greene at RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates?
We adore Dr. Greene and are very grateful for his expert care! At each appointment with him, he spent a significant amount of time with us and we were never rushed. He came prepared with our results and a plan, and encouraged us to be active and informed decision makers in the plan. He explained everything thoroughly, and backed it with current research/evidence. Grounded in numbers and the science of it, he was very positive and optimistic for us, even during setbacks. It always felt like he truly believed we would be successful. We had 2 egg retrievals at age 41 with Drs. O’shaughnessy and Chiang with approximately 20 eggs retrieved. About 80% fertilized with ICSI, and then 3 embryos made it to Day 5 Blastocysts and were genetically normal. We had 2 FET cycles at age 42 with Dr. Greene. In our first FET cycle, we lost Embryo #1 during the thaw before we even got to transfer (very rare), but proceeded with Embryo #2 which resulted in a chemical pregnancy. And for our 2nd FET cycle with Embryo #3, we are currently 20 weeks pregnant and just had a great anatomy scan. Dr. Greene has navigated unexplained infertility, advanced maternal age, and autoimmune disorder (Crohn’s disease) with us.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Robert Greene at RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates?
Trust in the process and Dr. Greene’s knowledge/esperience/research, but also don’t be afraid to speak up and advocate for your care and your desired path!

Describe the protocols Robert Greene used in your cycles at RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates and their degree of success.
We are grateful Dr. Greene didn’t chase every expensive, time consuming, and painful test and procedure (re: uterine environment) in our workup.
He was confident in our selection of using the autoimmune protocol. We used a phospholipid infusion protocol pre and post transfer, along with hydroxychloroquine pre-transfer through our first trimester. We are currently 20 weeks pregnant with a normal anatomy scan!
Describe your experience with your nurse at RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates. (Assigned nurse: Yes - but it changed several times. )
We had several “primary nurses”, and many covering nurses for communications during scheduled days off. They got the job done. But the nursing care/lack of timely communication was the least desirable part of it all, especially when we were new to the process - this led to much anxiety, especially when trying to plan for working during cycles and trying to understand timeline/time commitments. Once we were experienced patients, it was easier to be less anxious about reaching the nursing team and communicating in a timely fashion. Elizabeth (egg retrieval team) was awful - very poor and confusing communication, extraordinarily slow to respond during time sensitive requests. Bailey (FET team) was one of our covering nurses that we loved. Everyone else fell somewhere in between.
Describe your experience with RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates.
Strengths:
Excellent physicians and embryologists.
Friendly front desk staff.
Wonderful phlebotomists.
Good financial office support.
Clean and efficient amenities.
Excellent ultrasound techs.
Enjoyable place to go.
We went to both Sky Ridge and Littleton locations.
Cons:
Nursing communication needs improvement. Patients deserve same or next day responses. Often times would get a response to time sensitive matters in 1 week. Would have to call, portal message, and follow up to get responses sometimes. friendly front desk staff! Clean and efficient amenities. Excellent ultrasound techs. Enjoyable place to go. We went to both Sky Ridge and Littleton locations.

Dr. Greene gets to know you as a person...He is very knowledgeable and makes you feel like your apart of the decisions...He asked us about our future. He personally connected with our lives outside of a fertility clinic. He genuinely seemed like he was in it for our best interest...After my first transfer failed, Dr. Greene gave us ample options as to what to change this time and why. He told us his professional opinion but ultimately let us choose the path to go down.
Scheduling was easy [at Conceptions Reproductive Associates]. I loved how weekend's or holidays were never off limits. They always were accommodating and understanding. Billing was quickly and promptly taken care of. My first cycle was monitored carefully. Dr. Greene had suspected PCOS but I never showed symptoms so it was hard to diagnose. As my retrieval grew closer Dr. Greene made the decision to move my retrieval up. I think this was a good idea as my eggs quality were decreasing each day. After my first transfer failed, Dr. Greene gave us ample options as to what to change this time and why. He told us his professional opinion but ultimately let us choose the path to go down.

Dr. Greene was so knowledgable, he is very thorough and always answered all of my questions without hesitation. If I asked him something or for something and his answer was no, he provided me with concrete evidence as to why the answer is no. ... He was able to convince me to try again and changed my protocol to higher doses of stimulating medications and also primed me with estrogen and human growth hormone which was a total game changer.
I feel that the nursing communication was the hardest part about dealing with Conceptions. ... I was able to get in quickly for a new appointment and had minimal issues getting in for follow ups. They were very flexible during my retrieval and needing to have special timed appointments. I absolutely love Sonja the ultrasound tech and Daquiri and her partner (can't remember name). I loved Malissa and Lindsey the front desk girls. They kept things seamless and smooth for me.

We walked away with three embryos, two euploid and I am currently pregnant.

I feel that the nursing communication was the hardest part about dealing with Conceptions. The doctors were great, the ultrasound technician and phlebotomist were great but I did struggle with the nurses. The way Conceptions is set up is that you communicate solely with your nurse and they are the ones that decide whether or not to contact the doctor or follow their protocols. I struggled with this because I wanted to know that the actual doctor was driving my care and not a nurse. It felt a bit that I was overlooked as a patient in these times but it all ended up working out. They do know what they are doing after all but it was hard for me to trust that.

We went straight to IVF after the infertility diagnosis. My Fallopian tubes are occluded bilaterally and the only option for treatment was IVF. He [Dr. Robert Greene] explained that surgery could happen for me, but most insurance doesn’t cover it, I would have to wait to see if the surgery was even successful, and most women have to do IVF anyway. I did research and he was right. I don’t remember the exact protocols used, but during egg retrieval Dr. Greene monitored my follicle growth throughout and did have to make adjustments to my meds
For me, I felt that the staff [at Conceptions Reproductive Associates- Lafayette] was very knowledgeable and organized. I just had to trust that they knew what they were doing, and they did. The one thing that was difficult for me was transferring my care to multiple different nurses depending on the cycle. It made sense that certain nurses were experts on different parts of the treatment, but it was a challenge transferring care so many times.
How was your experience with Robert Greene at RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates?
Although I didn’t see him often, he was very warm and friendly. He kept me optimistic and positive. He also was sure to share information and make sure I understood my treatment. Dr. Greene was honest with treatment and what we should expect in our situation. I am very thankful that he kept it real, but still knew how to present the information in an appropriate manner.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Robert Greene at RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates?
Listen to what he has to say! He might not tell you what you want to hear, but he is giving you the appropriate information.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Robert Greene at RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates?
Dr. Greene kept it real with me throughout treatment. In the beginning I was not willing to accept IVF as the appropriate treatment for my diagnosis. Dr. Greene told me the facts and let me take the time to do any additional research that I needed to ultimately make my desicion. He was very warm and positive throughout!

It was extremely expensive, but it is expensive at any clinic. My IVF treatment including genetic testing was over $19,000 and the medication was around $7,000. I do wish the clinic was more helpful in “shopping” for medication vs using the expensive specialty pharmacies.
Describe Robert Greene's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates.

He [ Dr. Robert Greene] prefers to do a single [embryo transfer] but is willing to do multiple with good reasoning...He was always interested in our process. Yes he has many patients and may need to be reminded of our chart/ circumstances, but he was always completely with you when it was your time...We had a protocol that was tailored to our circumstances. He shared his research and if he needed to know more about an issue, he would research it for himself to know what was best for us. Very knowledgeable and positive..He really tried to get to know and understand us as people and patient's.
Always received very detailed protocol [from the nurses at Conceptions Reproductive Associates] I do wish that knowing what was coming up was easier to communicate...There are multiple locations which is a plus. However many proceedures can only be done in Littleton. Everyone on staff was pleasent to work with and very knowledgeable. They go above and beyond when needed!...He [ Dr. Robert Greene] prefers to do a single [embryo transfer] but is willing to do multiple with good reasoning
