[Dr. Jacob] explained every step of my procedures before and during. I made my own choices of what I wanted to achieve and he made efforts to achieve them. He gives you options and see which one you would like to take from his recommendations...By the fifth day my follicles wasn't where he was liking them to be, he wanted to up my dosage of the follistim. But I canceled that cycle instead of wasting more money and move on to IVF
I could email or call [the Center for Reproductive Medicine nurse] to ask a question and she was always there to help in anyway she could...Research every thing before you go so that you know what to expect and what you want to achieve from this clinic. Also be patient and understanding of all the procedures that you will be going through...

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Saji Jacob at Center for Reproductive Medicine & Robotic Surgery?
Since day 1 of going to the clinic I was treated with respect. Everything was explained to me before treatments was started. This was explained to me during treatments and was was written down clearly. Ashley the receptionist was very caring and understanding, I could reach out to her and get a response fairly quickly.
Describe the protocols Saji Jacob used in your cycles at Center for Reproductive Medicine & Robotic Surgery and their degree of success.
Dr. Jacob had me on IUI protocol with 50mcg of Follistim for 5 days and I would come into the clinic every other day for blood work and ultrasound to check my follicles. By the fifth day my follicles wasn't where he was liking them to be, he wanted to up my dosage of the follistim. But I canceled that cycle instead of wasting more money and move on to IVF. I decided to go with IVF because it would be a more promising chance of convincing a child

Dr. Jacob left the options to the patients when wanting to transfer the number(s) of embryos. He did offer an opinion...[he] was very attentive to explaining in detail and making sure our next steps in this process would be ok with us...With the second retrieval, Dr. Jacob had added Menopur to my daily medication and it made an incredible difference and we had a better outcome.
[our Center for Reproductive Medicine nurse] was always available in and out of the office for questions and answers! The care was amazing from her...The clinics strengths are always going above and beyond for the patients, always available for questions or concerns, clean and efficient, and always treating each patient like a human being. Dr. Jacob and his team are always time efficient and trying their hardest to help in any way they can.
How was your experience with Saji Jacob at Center for Reproductive Medicine & Robotic Surgery?
Dr. Jacob always tweaked medication if he saw issues within the processing and always gave us hope. Dr. Jacob also treated us with respect and made sure this process as smooth as possible (as one can try). Dr. Jacob gave us the best opportunity in trying to have a healthy pregnancy and it was successful!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Saji Jacob at Center for Reproductive Medicine & Robotic Surgery?
To prepare to have an incredible doctor who works in and out of the clinic for his patients. Dr. Jacob puts his whole life into IVF.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Saji Jacob at Center for Reproductive Medicine & Robotic Surgery?
Dr. Jacob was very attentive to explaining in detail and making sure our next steps in this process would be ok with us. Dr. Jacob always called and made sure that his office was always available for questions and answers.
Describe the protocols Saji Jacob used in your cycles at Center for Reproductive Medicine & Robotic Surgery and their degree of success.
During my first cycle, my left ovary was not responding to stimulation and once eggs were retrieved on the first retrieval, we could only receive many healthy eggs from my right ovary. I was on follistim, doxycycline, and Lupron as a trigger shot. With the second retrieval, Dr. Jacob had added Menopur to my daily medication and it made an incredible difference and we had a better outcome. After the retrieval, we had sent 8 embryos off for testing and only 1 came back genetically normal. This leading to the result of Dr. Jacob inferring that our previous pregnancy loss before IVF was due to a genetic issue within the embryos. For transfer protocol, I was put on Lupron and progesterone. After the transfer I was on Lovenox and aspirin with prenatal vitamins.

I am young and that’s exactly what dr. Jacobs kept saying. He said oh I’m sure you will get pregnant, everything looks good. Every time we asked a question he brushed us off and said we don’t need to worry about that it will happen. Instead of answering the questions, he was extremely confident in the unknown.... Dr. Jacobs was a very educated man but had a hard tome explaining things. He always said it will happen but when things didn’t plan out he wanted us to pay the money first then talk to him for consultation.
The nursing staff [at Center for Reproductive Med and Robotic Surgery] was sweet and tried to give me free meds that they may have received from a trial basis so we didn’t have to pay so much out of pocket. They also checked on me once a week to see how I was doing. They smiled everytime they saw me.... The clinic strengths where that they made you feel welcome and that they were happy to see you. They had quick services as far as getting you back to the room with an appointment time. There weakness is calling in labs at a timely fashion. They needed more resources for how to fund ivf.
How was your experience with Saji Jacob at Center for Reproductive Medicine & Robotic Surgery?
Dr. Jacobs was a very educated man but had a hard tome explaining things. He always said it will happen but when things didn’t plan out he wanted us to pay the money first then talk to him for consultation. Every office visit I had to pay a co pay even if it was just drawing blood. There office lost my results for blood testing and my 2 week wait turn into a 2 week 1/2 wait. I don’t feel that he was very comforting to our situation. He couldn’t explain things like over stimulated ovaries due to that I had some the embryo transfer and I urinated every two minutes and he had no explanation but he said it may be a Uti so he gave me more antibiotics while I actually had the transfer in my uterus.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Saji Jacob at Center for Reproductive Medicine & Robotic Surgery?
Don’t go to him because he will see you as a number rather than a desperate human that just wants and would do anything for a family.

I was told to get my Fallopian tubes removed due to fluid with inthem and scarring. He said he thought it would be best for a successful cycle. He also prescribed follistem 30mg/ml, progesterone 550mg/ml, manutrex, estriol 10mg,hcg 200mg/ml, and birth control and prenatal. All meds where used in the event of a positive pregnancy test.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Saji Jacob at Center for Reproductive Medicine & Robotic Surgery.
For one cycle it averaged out to about 15000 with meds included. For the second transfer it was an extra 6000 with meds.
Describe Saji Jacob's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Center for Reproductive Medicine & Robotic Surgery.
He didn’t have a grasp on changing up protocol for meds on the second round. I feel if he would have tested embryos more it could potentially been beneficial instead of placing something back in me that didn’t work the first time.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Center for Reproductive Medicine & Robotic Surgery.
I also don’t understand why he gave so much false hope to me and my husband. He tested my husband sperm but did not wash sperm and also didn’t do a DNA fragmentation which we requested. He stated he didn’t think we needed all of these services.

He [Dr. Jacob] met with us each visit which was nice and thoroughly explained his thoughts on our treatment and diagnoses. He did not have the best bedside manner however and was very blunt and not willing to try IUIs or any other treatment besides IVF or get to the root cause of what was going on...He had a small office at the time, so we always felt like we were given one on one care.
They [nurses at Center for Reproductive Medicine & Robotic Surgery] had good bedside manner and seemed caring and focused on you as a patient while you were in their care...They were in a small office when we were patients there which had its benefits and pitfalls. They have since moved to a brand new facility so its hard to comment on this since it will be totally different for new patients.
