[Dr. Najmabadi] is one of few doctors who gives patients his personal email and phone number and is very responsive. Had he not made such a huge mistake and not taken the opportunity to correct it, I would have followed through with treatment. I feel he was very neglectful and it made me wonder what other mistakes he might make...he read my charts incorrectly and prescribed a dosage of thyroid medication that took me from having a normal thyroid to being hyperthyroid at .09.
All of the nurses here [at Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology] are warm and seem to care. The blood draws were remarkably painless most of the time...Had he [Dr. Najmabadi] not made such a huge mistake and not taken the opportunity to correct it, I would have followed through with treatment. I feel he was very neglectful...his nurse made the same mistake, which let me know that it had not been corrected...
How was your experience with Sam Najmabadi at Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology?
Dr. Najmabadi was funny and kind in office. However, he read my charts incorrectly and prescribed a dosage of thyroid medication that took me from having a normal thyroid to being hyperthyroid at .09. He had two opportunities to catch this mistake. Once, after I was already on medication for two weeks, he said my TSH was really high. I realized he had mistook my T4 for my TSH and told him. He acted as if he had just spoken out of turn and said that he knew that. Later, his nurse made the same mistake, which let me know that it had not been corrected. Despite knowing he had misread my test results, he never reduced my dosage until I called telling his office that I couldn't walk up a flight of stairs without having to rest. I am an active healthy person who has a better than average blood pressure, and I felt like I was having a heart attack. Doctors tell you not to google, but in this case, I looked up "symptoms of synthroid overdose". Unfortunately, my calling didn't get the response I wanted either. They initially told me to go to a walk in lab to test my TSH, with no additional advice. The next day, I called again and the Dr. claimed he had not advised that and that I should come in. He was very cagey when I confronted him with the information, but advised me to reduce the medication. I had to call to get results, that had been delivered 3 days earlier. I am only now realizing how much this effected my fertility, as it took weeks for the medication to burn off and months for my body to get back to normal as there was a pendulum swing, where my TSH went higher than it had been for a couple of months. I lost months of valuable time. Every doctor I've spoken to since has said my TSH level was fine.

Overall we were satisfied with the care that we got with Dr. Najmabadi. He was super helpful in helping to explain the options that we had as an LGBTQ couple and very competent in administering and explaining the treatments we were undergoing...He is particularly strong when there are problems and is extremely articulate in both describing what is wrong and what the potential mitigations are. I found him to project expertise and that’s why I would go back to him. That said, his bedside manner can be a bit lacking.
I would say that the bedside manner of the staff [at Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology] can be a little inconsistent - at times it feels like they’ve forgotten who you are or what you talked about in your last visit. I found myself having to remind them of notes from before. But they are very good at diagnosing actual problems and coming up with strong solutions, which is probably what counts the most in this process.

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Sam Najmabadi at Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology?
Overall we were satisfied with the care that we got with Dr. Najmabadi. He was super helpful in helping to explain the options that we had as an LGBTQ couple and very competent in administering and explaining the treatments we were undergoing. We had to pause our treatments due to COVID-19 but would go back. I would say that the bedside manner of the staff can be a little inconsistent - at times it feels like they’ve forgotten who you are or what you talked about in your last visit. I found myself having to remind them of notes from before. But they are very good at diagnosing actual problems and coming up with strong solutions, which is probably what counts the most in this process.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology.
There’s a lot of nursing staff but frankly, it would be beneficial to have less staff that is better at listening and problem solving. One example of this was when trying to schedule a conference call between us and our gestational carrier. Since all of us were traveling, I anticipated that there would be problems if we didn’t proactively set up a conference line and called and emailed a few hours before the call to try and set up the call. The nurses dismissed my concern and said it wasn’t a problem. Sure enough, when the time came for the call, there was significant difficulty in connecting. At the last minute I had to pull out my work conference call line and pass it to Dr. N so he could dial-in. The nurses didn’t even apologize for the mishap.
Describe your experience with Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology.
- Competent doctor with a great understanding of treatments and options - Especially strong when dealing with unexpected medical issue - Poor and condescending bedside manner - Incompetent nurses and staff who have a hard time with logistics
Describe the costs associated with your care under Sam Najmabadi at Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology.
I think we spent $10K in total on various diagnostics and tests.

He [Dr. Najmabadi] really listened to my concerns and answered the questions that other doctors did not. He won my trust before my the first appointment was even over. I loved that he reviewed all test that I had done with previous doctors and did not have me redo them like other doctors I consulted with...worked with me in a way I didn’t felt rushed...We transferred 2 embryos that did not stick. He did change my protocol right before the cycle started because of current lab test and as we were going thru the cycle he adjusted to reflect current lab test
The clinic [Center for Reproductive Health and Gynecology] is well organized and every employee makes you feel at home and comfortable. I never had a bad experience with their office or any interaction with other staff members. The only thing that could use some work is parking. There isn’t enough street parking and the parking garage charges $20 with no discount for patients. Maybe they can give patients a discount on parking as IVF is already expensive to pay for parking at every visit. I would always go in a bit early to make sure that I got street parking at $2 for 2 hours

Since all my test came back normal we did iui first and I had 3 different shot can’t recall the name. We didn’t have success he then gave us a choice to t try again or go to Ivf. We choose IVF I was on gonal , medropol and baby aspirin as well progesterone pill & injections. We retrieved 7 eggs and we used icis and had 6 healthy embryos. We transferred 2 embryos that did not stick. He did change my protocol right before the cycle started because of current lab test and as we were going thru the cycle he adjusted to reflect current lab test

Dr. Naj is warm, kind, and answers every question and collaborates when it comes to treatment options...It seems he genuinely cares for the women seeking treatment from him, which is wonderful to know. I've never felt like a statistic under his care, even while we are experiencing obstacles he will explain his thought process for changing treatments or trying new and different things. As difficult as this journey has been, having someone with his expertise in your corner feels invaluable.
They [staff at Center for Reproductive Health and Gynecology] greet me by name, they are available to answer any and all questions, they patiently explain and demonstrate various procedures...They all are so friendly, they've gotten to know me by name. When I walked out of my 2nd procedure, they all wished me good luck and I about cried! Each person who works there is fully versed in all responsibilities - from blood draws to the charts to the billing and appointments, they are on top of everything.

First cycle was a medicated IUI with donor sperm. Medication was letrozole because my AMH is a little low. My follicles didn't grow while on letrozole, we learned that I am resistant to the medication. So we tried injectables (Menapur) - I responded better to that. We continued to use Menapur for the next two IUI's. No pregnancies resulted, so I am now considering moving to IVF.

This whole process can be VERY overwhelming with decisions that need to be made - everyone here is so friendly and approachable, if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask them! Also, if you need help being shown how to administer any of the medications, they will show you and give you some tips and tricks to help make the process easier.

How was your experience with Sam Najmabadi at Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology?
He is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced in his field. He does take the time to explain and answer questions, but sometimes it does feel rushed. He doesn’t use layman’s terms which could be intimidating for someone who is completely knew to the entire process. While I think he does show compassion and empathy, something felt like it was missing. It is hard to put into words, but I realized it after meeting with another doctor for a second opinion who just put us at ease from the moment we met him. I think Dr. Najmabadi is a fast paced person in general, and I think sometimes that makes it feel like you are being rushed through the process.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Sam Najmabadi at Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions or ask him to slow down a little bit. While I understood much of what he was saying, my husband did not. And even with my general understanding, there were times when I needed to ask for more information. Doctors are used to their terms and lingo, and I think it's probably easy to forget that not everyone has the same understanding.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Sam Najmabadi at Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology?
Dr. Najmabadi is respectful. He is somewhat brusk at times when explaining things. He appears rushed at times, and is not always great at breaking things down in layman's terms. However, he also could be compassionate and empathetic when things did not go the way we had hoped. I think at times I felt like we were being rushed forward without a lot of time to think.
Describe the protocols Sam Najmabadi used in your cycles at Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology and their degree of success.
I started with him mid-cycle while doing letrozole from my OB. We did another medicated and monitored cycle with a trigger shot and timed intercourse. That cycled ended in a chemical pregnancy. During that cycle he realized my lining was thin and appeared thinner because of the medication. We then moved on to IUIs with gonal f. I don’t remember the dosage of them, but the first 2 were the same and we increased the dose with the 3rd. All were negative. Also between the first and second IUI I had a cyst that we had to wait to go away. He started with the method of seeing if my body got rid of it on its own rather than birth control or removal (it did thankfully). When we stopped working with Dr. Najmabadi, we were deciding to move forward with IVF. We went for a second opinion, and decided to continue with the new doctor that we met. It was not that the new doctor provided a different plan or protocol than Dr. Najmabadi, but rather we just felt more comfortable with the new doctor in the end.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology. (Assigned nurse: Spencer the ultrasound technician and Selene )
Spencer, the utlrasound tech, is amazing. She makes you feel at ease and always makes sure to say hi when you are there even if you are not seeing her that day. Selene is also great and compassionate. She is awesome at explaining everything and will answer your repeat questions many times. She is also very gentle with taking blood.
Describe your experience with Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology.
The clinic is clean and bright. Parking is underneath the building. They take card. It can add up a bit, but depending on the time of the day you can’t park on the street. The main entrance is off the street and not from the lobby when you enter the building from the parking lot.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Sam Najmabadi at Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology.
I cannot remember the cost of the medicated cycles (no IUI). The costs of the IUIs were between $2500-$3000 depending on the medications. They have medications onsite which makes it easier. The progesterone tabs are about $60 for 20 I think. The IVF is about $11,000 not including medications.

I appreciate that Dr. Naj [Dr Sam Najmabadi] tells it like it is. I also feel he doesn't over-tell. I have friends undergoing treatment who ask me things about levels and numbers and certain hormones that I have no idea what they're talking about....and for me, I like that. When my second IVF didn't take, I felt like Dr. Naj almost took it harder than I did! He is invested in what he does.
[Center for Reproductive Health and Gynecology] is small. Some people prefer more doctors and more going on, this feels very boutique. I don't love Yolanda in administration. She has said frustrating and ignorant things, like asking me where my other baby is when I came in for one of my transfers. I don't have a baby...There are times I felt like I was being brushed off as emotional. It a was brief, but I felt it.

Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology.
There are times when I don't feel the communication is at its best. Once I had to double check instructions that were given because I was pretty sure the dosage was wrong - and it was. That could have been a big problem. However, I mentioned it to the doctor, and I don't ever remember seeing that nurse again. Other than that, I have loved the nurses. They feel with me - good and bad. I don't ever feel like I am annoying them or asking too many questions.

I had to have high dosages of all of the drugs as I wasn't reacting. My egg quality was poor, but [Dr Najmabadi] respected my need to pursue alternative medicine before I was ready for egg donation. He recommended people to help me, and I ultimately came back to proceed with him.
[Center for Reproductive Health and Gynecology is] a nice environment with all of the latest technology tucked behind a decor to feel a bit less like a doctors office and more 'homey'...[The nurse] was more reserved than Dr Naj, but very kind and competant.
How was your experience with Sam Najmabadi at Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology?
The nurses are very friendly and competant, the facility is a nice, calming environment. dr Naj is fantastic. He doesnt coddle, and tells it like it is, but showed a strong respect for my need to understand everything technically. He spent all the time we wanted explaining every step and every decision we needed to make. Something I found as a rarity amongst other doctors.

He recommended people to help me, and I ultimately came back to proceed with him. We now have healthy, beautiful twins.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology.
She was more reserved than Dr Naj, but very kind and competant
Describe your experience with Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology.
A nice environment with all of the latest techology tucked behind a decor to feel a bit less like a doctors office and more 'homey'
Describe the costs associated with your care under Sam Najmabadi at Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology.
Roughly $17,000 for IVF but I needed a very large dosage of the medications (which was purchased through a pharmacy but included in that quote)

He answered all my questions and explained everything that I needed to know...He’s controlling every steps that you need to take and keep eye on everything. He’s the most available doctor that I’ve ever seen...I had 3 IUI with someone else. But when he reviewed my history, suggested IVF. I had 3 IUI with someone else. But when he reviewed my history, suggested IVF. I started my cycle a month later and got the medicine and injections for 10 days and then removed 15 eggs. I just had 5 good quality eggs and the chance of having a good embryo was low. Luckily after 5 days jest one good embryo left for transfer and 12 days later I got my positive pregnancy test. I’m 12 weeks pregnant now.

This Clinic [Ctr for Repro Hlth+Gyn ] is fantastic in a way that it's a One Stop Shop, . It's very convenient as they have all of the medications there as well so there's no need to have to go and pick medications up from a local pharmacy. All blood work is done at the office And all surgical procedures are done there as well. They have their own surgical side, like a hospital...The nursing staff was always very caring and supportive. .T

I paid right around $20,000 for ivf. That includes all monitoring and medications. Blood testing, genetic screening for myself and husband, plus semen analysis were all charged separately.

Dr Najmabadi was great - had a sense of humor that relaxed me during the many conversations and ultrasounds. He is clearly a busy man, but would be patient as I asked more questions and tried to understand certain things...He was great, and the nurses [at CRHG] were amazing. They even video chatted with me as I was having trouble with the shots!...There was only one hitch where I had to go two extra days and they didn't have the medicine on hand but otherwise were on top of it and treated me with compassion.
The BH [CRHG] office is lovely. The Sherman Oaks office isn't as nice but it's so great that they have two offices! Everyone who works at the clinic was great, from the front desk, billing, nurses and doctor...the nurses were amazing. They even video chatted with me as I was having trouble with the shots!...There was only one hitch where I had to go two extra days and they didn't have the medicine on hand but otherwise were on top of it and treated me with compassion.

I have never in my life felt as disrespected as I did on my appointment with Dr. Najmabadi...Dr Najmabadi stood in the hallway open to everyone to discuss my results and next steps. He became obviously irritated when I asked if we could sit down to discuss...he told me those should have been covered in my follow up consult which I never had or was informed that I needed to have by his office staff...

How was your experience with Sam Najmabadi at Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology?
I have never in my life felt as disrespected as I did on my appointment with Dr. Najmabadi. I had a very unpleasant experience with (most) of the staff there and felt constantly out of the loop as I emailed and called and followed up over and over as to the next steps in my process. The fertility process is very confusing and emotional and can be quite overwhelming. Because it's time sensitive, it's very important to know what you need to do and when. Imagine my surprise and discomfort on yesterday as Dr Najmabadi stood in the hallway open to everyone to discuss my results and next steps. He became obviously irritated when I asked if we could sit down to discuss, and responded with "no one is here", as if that made it better. I simply wanted to sit down and not feel rushed and understand what he was attempting to explain to me on a post it. Once inside an office that had boxes and a tight space to sit, he went over next steps and when I asked questions, he told me those should have been covered in my follow up consult which I never had or was informed that I needed to have by his office staff. He then proceeded to tell me that he was there when the staff suggested it and kept referring to my results from "last month". I hadn't seen the doctor since May of 2021 so he clearly had me mixed up with another patient that he didn't really seem to care for. As I asked what I would have covered in the consult that wasn't scheduled, Dr. Najmabadi got up, said he was leaving and followed up with "don't worry about it". I was stunned and so was the member of his team who sat in on the meeting with us. I do not feel comfortable proceeding with him, he was highly unprofessional and quite frankly a bit confused. His rudeness was unnecessary and I informed his staff that I'd be looking for another doctor. He lacked compassion and empathy and quite frankly, respect. His office needs a refresher in informing patients and following up.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Sam Najmabadi at Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology?

His [Dr. Najmabadi's] approach was solely based on statistics and what would give us the best outcome of starting a family. I am happy to say we are now pregnant. The amount of patient care cannot be topped...He is so smart, kind, and caring. I couldn't have asked for better expertise or care. I saw him at every single appointment and was grateful for his guidance through all the complicated steps of treatment.
We are so grateful for this clinic [Center for Reproductive Health and Gynecology]. I only wish I had found it sooner...The amount of patient care cannot be topped. There is ALWAYS someone you can reach who will walk you through anything. At one point my husband and I were struggling to figure out how to administer a shot. A few minutes later one of his nurses was face timing us from her child's soccer game on a Saturday afternoon to help us.

[Dr. Sam Najmabadi] was at every single appointment, even during blood draws he would come in and check on me.... I was told I needed a surrogate from another doctor...Dr Naj said he didn’t believe he was correct. One Ivf round and I was pregnant. He monitored me so closely, when I needed anything he was there. I cannot day enough nice things about Dr Naj. He is honest, straightforward, and caring. He’s not the biggest facility, but you will get the care (and baby) you’re seeking!
They [nurses at Center for Reproductive Health and Gynecology] were always in great moods and happy to help!...I really liked that after care was included in our cycle. I have friends that went to other doctors and they had to pay each time...You see the doctor every time! Everyone who works there is pleasant, it’s probably because Dr Naj has such a great energy. You can always get a hold of the doctor or nurse. I recommend this clinic.
