I had already been diagnosed with PCOS by a previous Fertility doctor, but did not get to start treatment because we moved...She [Dr. Bello] bluntly told us we would be pregnant by the end of the year after she had reviewed my tests and encouraged IUI with injections. When the treatment did not work and I had questions, she just said it was unexplained and very blunt. She didn’t seem like she cared about anything but doing IVF next. I knew I did not feel comfortable continuing treatment with her because she didn’t like to explain much.
The staff [at Houston Fertility Institute] were very friendly and helpful. They were the only good part about the clinic. I only saw two other doctors for ultrasounds and my IUI transfer. They were kind and helpful, more friendly than my actual doctor I picked...We did IUI with injections and progesterone suppositories...They [the nurses] were very kind during office visits and when I called or messaged with questions.

She did not seem very empathetic to me as a patient who was new to the treatment procedures. I did not like her way of communicating. She made it seem like it was a open shut case and when it didn’t work she just wanted to try more expensive treatments. She didn’t seem to like all my questions. But if I’m paying money that is from our savings, I want to know you have an understanding of my case and care to help me the most affordable way.

Find a doctor who loves their job because of the patients and not the income.

I think $3000 for treatment but that didn’t include my hysteroscopy procedure and medications.

She suggested single embryos transfer but would do double if the patient wanted it.
