Dr. Moustafa was present for my first few consultations and explained everything in detail...has an excellent bedside manner, is warm and compassionate...have not seen or spoken to her since our virtual consultation...not informed the nurse practitioner would the one to do the actual IUI procedure
[At New Jersey Fertility Clinics (CCRM/IRMS Facilities)] I was not treated with compassion or understanding by the front staff..nurse practitioner who did the actual procedure was very compassionate and had an excellent bedside manner....feel like a number at times because the staff seems rushed and overwhelmed with volume desensitizing the experience.
How was your experience with Sarah Moustafa at New Jersey Fertility Clinics (CCRM/IRMS Facilities)?
Dr. Moustafa has an excellent bedside manner. She is compassionate, listens actively and takes her time. I felt comfortable with her from the first appointment. I have the upmost confidence she will provide me with the best course of treatment to yield the results I would like.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Sarah Moustafa at New Jersey Fertility Clinics (CCRM/IRMS Facilities)?
Dr. Moustafa is kind, compassionate and caring. The first appointment is overwhelming and a lot to process. From there it is full speed ahead. The staff is very on top of checking all the boxes for your necessary treatment. The actual clinic and appointments may make you feel like a number. Also, not every staff member will be sensitive or compassionate.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Sarah Moustafa at New Jersey Fertility Clinics (CCRM/IRMS Facilities)?
Dr. Moustafa was present for my first few consultations and explained everything in detail. She has an excellent bedside manner, is warm and compassionate. However, I have not seen or spoken to her since our virtual consultation in which, we discussed moving forward with IUI. I was not informed the nurse practitioner would the one to do the actual IUI procedure. My experience with the IUI procedure was upsetting and disappointing. While I understand their computer system was down, there was mass confusion and panic among the staff. I was not treated with compassion or understanding by the front staff. The nurse practitioner who did the actual procedure was very compassionate and had an excellent bedside manner. I feel like a number at times because the staff seems rushed and overwhelmed with volume desensitizing the experience. It also feels like a factory when you arrive for bloodwork/ultrasound at 6am. There is a line at the door before they open, the blood work and ultrasound are done within 15min of walking in the door.
Describe the protocols Sarah Moustafa used in your cycles at New Jersey Fertility Clinics (CCRM/IRMS Facilities) and their degree of success.
Used progesterone four days after IUI. Mine was a 9, she would like it 10 or higher.
Describe your experience with your nurse at New Jersey Fertility Clinics (CCRM/IRMS Facilities). (Assigned nurse: Melany)
The nurse Melany, is not very compassionate or sensitive . She doesn’t seem genuine when she is trying to be compassionate. She also seems very overwhelmed and rushed when we speak on the phone.
Describe your experience with New Jersey Fertility Clinics (CCRM/IRMS Facilities).
Strengths- follows through on necessary next steps. Weaknesses-high volume, seem overwhelmed, seem unorganized at time, chaotic energy at times. The initial appointment is very informative and overwhelming. The next steps happen very quickly through an app communicating with staff. Make your appointment for therapist first so you’re provided with necessary resources. You may feel like a number at times.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Sarah Moustafa at New Jersey Fertility Clinics (CCRM/IRMS Facilities).
I used my insurance, I’m responsible for deductible and coinsurance. My insurance doesn’t cover IVF so I started with IUI in hopes of succeeding

Describe the specific things that went wrong at New Jersey Fertility Clinics (CCRM/IRMS Facilities).
My IUI procedure-I was confused with another Laura. Front staff had a loud conversation as to whether or not I was present. The phlebotomist asked in front of other patients why I was there, a staff member replied “for an IUI”. My donor vial was carried in a test tube rack through a waiting room full to of patients. Not exactly how I wanted my experience to go.

Dr. Moustafa is wonderful. She always listened to my concerns and explained all treatments and diagnoses in great detail. She took her time with me. I never felt rushed. She genuinely cared, not just about my success as a patient, but also about my emotional state throughout the process...We started with Letrozole with timed intercourse as we determined that I was not ovulating on my own due to PCOS. After three failed cycles, we started with IUIs using the same Letrozole dose.
All of the doctors, nurses, and staff who I interacted with [at UNC Fertility] were excellent. They do a great job scheduling and getting you in for appointments in a timely manner. Because of this, you will not always see your primary RE for mid-cycle ultrasounds and other standard visits. This did not bother me because I appreciated the ease of scheduling, and all the doctors were great...My doctor and the clinic followed industry standards on the decision to move forward with elective single embryo transfer, based on my age, the quality of my embryos, and the fact that this was my first transfer (no prior failed transfers).

I always felt listened to and respected. All of my treatments were explained in great detail, but in a way that I could easily understand and digest.
Describe the protocols Sarah Moustafa used in your cycles at UNC Fertility and their degree of success.
We started with Letrozole with timed intercourse as we determined that I was not ovulating on my own due to PCOS. After three failed cycles, we started with IUIs using the same Letrozole dose. After three failed IUIs, we increased the Letrozole dose for a fourth IUI (while confirming via ultrasound that I had two follicles that cycle, rather than one). When that fourth IUI failed, we decided to move forward with IVF. I have a large cyst on one ovary that is suspected endometriosis, and Dr. Moustafa felt that this was also affecting my fertility.
Describe your experience with your nurse at UNC Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Mindy)
Mindy was amazing. She has such a positive attitude and did an excellent job explaining the egg retrieval and embryo transfer process in a digestible way. She was always incredibly responsiveness to my emails and questions.

Describe Sarah Moustafa's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at UNC Fertility.
My doctor and the clinic followed industry standards on the decision to move forward with elective single embryo transfer, based on my age, the quality of my embryos, and the fact that this was my first transfer (no prior failed transfers).
