The clinic [Bloom Fertility] is beautiful and brand new. It feels very clean and bright. The clinical staff is friendly and warm when you go in for your monitoring appointments. You get results back quickly because it's a smaller "boutique" clinic and they do not accept insurance meaning billing is very straightforward...Costs were straightforward and listed on her website...I really really like Elle and Mikesha [nurses]. They were always very friendly when I went in for my monitoring appointments....
How was your experience with Sue Ellen Carpenter at Bloom Fertility(Invo Bioscience Network clinic)?
Dr. Carpenter is nice enough and we were initially really happy with her. However, upon moving to a new clinic there were some oversights on her part. My husband's semen analysis showed some abnormalities which Dr. Carpenter essentially brushed off because all of his other parameters were normal. Come to find out, the issue is a rather big one according to our new clinic. She also spent maybe 3 minutes total with me during my monitoring appointments and didn't really take time to explain things just said, "things look good, take a trigger shot x day." I only had 1 monitoring appointment per cycle. Our new clinic has me coming in for monitoring and blood work weekly. While I think she is a nice person, I didn't really feel like she took the time to talk us through everything. She sent me progesterone results and said, "congratulations!" leading me to get some false hope for a future positive pregnancy test.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Sue Ellen Carpenter at Bloom Fertility(Invo Bioscience Network clinic)?

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Sue Ellen Carpenter at Bloom Fertility(Invo Bioscience Network clinic)?
Dr. Carpenter is very warm and pleasant. However, the total time spent talking to her was 10 minutes and I was in the clinic several times for monitoring. She didn't really ask me if I had any questions or concerns and it felt like she was in and out.
Describe the protocols Sue Ellen Carpenter used in your cycles at Bloom Fertility(Invo Bioscience Network clinic) and their degree of success.
I was started on 2.5mg of Letrozole and had one ultrasound. Dr. Carpenter gave me a particular day to trigger and asked me to report back with a positive pregnancy test or with the start of my cycle. I was not successful our first cycle so we upped my dosage to 5mg and had the same protocol. Both cycles were unsuccessful. She wanted to switch me to Clomid to "see what happens" if I continued with her clinic but my current RE advised against Clomid.

Describe the protocols Sue Ellen Carpenter used in your cycles at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic) and their degree of success.
All of my transfers were frozen embryo cycles. Typically I would take birth control for a few days before beginning the real protocol to allow the 3-week protocol to be scheduled. I would start with estrogen for 2 weeks followed by the addition of progesterone injections for the 3rd week leading up the transfer.

Describe Sue Ellen Carpenter's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic).
Dr. Carpenter tried single embryo transfers the 1st 2 attempts and then the 3rd attempt we transferred to embryos which is when we became pregnant.
Dr. Carpenter is very to the point and thorough. She always took the time to explain everything to me which was so appreciated in this process. She also allowed me the freedom to suggest different pathways forward and was always honest on her opinion of these options...We did a stair-step approach when I did not respond to 50 mg clomid. In the same cycle, we increased to 100 mg clomid and then 7.5 mg letrozole. The next cycle she added dexamethasone to letrozole which helped with ovulation. Dr. Carpenter was very open to trying strategies to help make me ovulate. When the oral medication did not seem to result in a pregnancy, she very gently suggested IVF and explained her rationale for that suggestion.
It can be easy at ACRM to become lost and I found it was very important to follow up consistently...Sometimes the nurses would not have the proper dosage to send to the pharmacy but when I brought this to their attention it was quickly resolved...The front desk staff is always very friendly. I did have some issues with billing but ultimately it was resolved but it was a bit of a headache to get to that point. I waited for an hour and a half in the waiting room, when I did my consultation and [Dr. Carpenter] kept checking her text messages and breaking off while talking to me to do so. At first I liked how she mapped out the course of treatment, but then I found out she told me a lot of wrong information (which medication, antibiotics, which labs they would run and which they wouldn’t because my obgyn had already run, etc)...
I was REALLY disappointed with my care at ACRM. They don’t seem to have their act together. This is such a stressful issue, the very least I would expect is for them to have some organization and compassion. And I shouldn’t have to email 3 times to get a response from a nurse. If the policy is to respond to email in 24 hours, actually stick to it, and if you don’t apologize for taking so long to respond. Also...there should be someone somewhere who answers a phone. If a patient is freaking out about finding out what location they were supposed to be at because they don’t call or send reminder/verification messages for appointments, the patient should at least be able to reach a receptionist

I waited for an hour and a half in the waiting room, when I did my consultation and kept checking her text messages and breaking off while talking to me to do so. She gave me information which later ended up being incorrect, her office canceled my HSG appointment and couldn’t reschedule it so they outsourced me to another place (not one of their locations), they scheduled my initial appointment and didn’t tell me which location (indicated it was with my original location but it was not).
Describe the protocols Sue Ellen Carpenter used in your cycles at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic) and their degree of success.
Initially she told me they would do a base ultrasound on day 3, along with a panel of hormones, etc. She told me she wouldn’t redo tests my doc had already done (she did though because apparently she doesn’t put anything she says in the system). She then told me they would set up the HSG and the MidCycle ultra sound and blood work at the same time and I should take the antibiotic a day before the HSG and continue until I was done with the course (5 days) this changed because she never noted it in my file and forgot what she told me. I would go on letrozole on my 3rd day of my cycle, come in for an iui (maybe do a trigger shot depending on my follicial size st my mid cycle).
Describe your experience with your nurse at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic). (Assigned nurse: Sherri was my nurse and abelina was my patient care coordinator)
I was pretty disappointed with their scheduling. My care coordinator was nice, but the office had some serious issues with scheduling. My HSG (which I scheduled at the beginning of my cycle) got cancelled and they couldn’t reschedule - I had to go to Northside Hospital radiology to get it done instead, which was really disappointing

What specific things went wrong at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic)?
She [Dr. Carpenter] is very knowledgeable and kind but I wish there were greater attention to my case. I saw her *maybe* once a month during monitoring appointments so I did not feel like she was really involved or even really appraised of how the treatments were going. ... I started with timed intercourse and clomid bc I have PCOS. After getting no results, I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility and it was recommended that I try IUI.
Sometimes the front staff [ACRM] can be a bit cold, but the nursing team and finance people are great. ... The staff can be difficult to contact over the phone (don't miss the afternoon call backs if you have questions!) ... Also, be prepared to wait a while at appointments. I once waited an hour and 20 mins for a simple blood draw. I would recommend getting the first appointment of the day if possible and getting there extra early. This seemed to help me get through in a timely manner.

I started with timed intercourse and clomid bc I have PCOS. After getting no results, I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility and it was recommended that I try IUI. I began to have reactions to clomid, so asked to try another medication, femara, but it did not work well for regulating my cycle. At one point it made me ovulate very early and honestly wished they had recommended that we cancel that IUI bc it was not optimal timing or follicle quality. The treatments are pricey and we felt like that one was a waste.

I like that she [Dr. Carpenter] seems agressive in trying things and changing things up but her bed side manner is terrible, she is very brusque and said things like, all the numbers say you should be pregnant but your not... Her strategy was to use hormones to get me to ovulate (which I did on both Clomid and Letrozole) and then do an iui. The first two iuis were with clomid and no trigger (bec I didn't need) neither resulted in pregnany. Then we did two with Letrozole and a steroid, one with a trigger and one was too late for a trigger. The first, number wise looked great but didn't work, I'm waiting on my last one now.
It [ACRM] is beautiful and flexible but they are very unorganized. They have messed up a few times when ordering blood draws and when billing, etc. They are nice but you have to advocate for everything.... Some were really sweet and some where down right rude and one almost messed up a cycle by not calling in my perscription in time. One who is no longer there was amazing but the one who helped me during my last iui was unwittingly unsensitive when she wrote to me in an email that she would see me on x date to confirm pregnancy

She was so incredibly compassionate on the worst day of my life - so glad she is my doctor.
It’s [ACRM- Atl Perimeter] very busy - but it’s easy to get an appointment when you need it. They’ve got it down to a science! There are also several campuses so if you’re unable to get into one office, you can likely get in to another - even at a moment’s notice.... he nurses always returned my calls or emails within a few hours. $60/visit. IUI approx. $3,000 each. Meds. $25 [costs at ACRM]...The clinic is great at scheduling people. The waiting room is never over crowded nor do you have to wait long. She used Letrozole to increase the number of eggs produced, but each time I never had more than 2 well developed eggs released. I also used progesterone inserted vaginally. It is my understanding the center will only emplaned one egg when using a donor. I feel we should have the option to use more than one.
Dr. Carpenter treats her patients 100% like humans. She ALWAYS makes sure her patients leave her office understanding their care plan and feeling comfortable with their plan. She's accessible and easy to talk to. And, she really genuinely cares about you as a person... Our retrieval was antagonist protocol with birth control. 225 IU of Gonal + 1 vial of Menopur for 6 days. Then, on day 7 we added 0.25 of Cetrotide for 4 days. We did a Pregnyl trigger injection. We opted for ICSI and did genetic testing. We froze our embryos to test/let my body recover from stimulation. This protocol resulted in 15 eggs retrieved and 5 day 5 embryos frozen.
ACRM is a very good clinic. Their strategy is coordinated care--so, you may not see your primary physician every time. But, information is shared and the physicians are great about working together. It's seamless. The rest of the staff is very friendly and helpful. You can pay bills online. And, their offices are very well appointed and comfortable. Also, they have several locations across metro Atlanta.

My retrieval was about $14K. Each transfer is about $4K. My insurance (BCBS) is not covered for blood work, so each time I needed in-house labs, the cost was several hundred dollars. Through my insurance, only 'diagnosis' codes are accepted. So, monitoring and consultations are copay only. But, anything beyond that is out of pocket.
Describe Sue Ellen Carpenter's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic).
ACRM and Dr. Carpenter encourage single emrbyo transfer.
When we first met with the doctor [Dr. Sue Ellen Carpenter] she seemed very sweet, but she was quick to tell us we needed to do IVF and wanted to get the process started asap. Being this was our first clinic I wish we would have received a better consultation rather than a stack of papers...Dr. Carpenter drew her chart with how the males body works and how the females body works. She did this to explain how everything works (lots of medical words) every time we met. I felt that was her go to. She was very sweet but didn't feel the compassion for such an emotional procedure.
Strengths [at ACRM]-Multiple locations, Staff was good, stayed on top of everything as much as they could. Weakness-Doctor experience, Finance department...She [nurse] had everything in order but with the short time we were with ACRM there was more attitude then we needed during this rough time...We had to ask them for results every time. There strategy was if it isn't of a concern we aren't going to call you. With this being our first go around we wanted to know every detail.
How was your experience with Sue Ellen Carpenter at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic)?
We felt like a number and a count in how many IVF cycles they would complete. Dr. Carpenter drew her chart with how the males body works and how the females body works. She did this to explain how everything works (lots of medical words) every time we met. I felt that was her go to. She was very sweet but didn't feel the compassion for such an emotional procedure. What pressed my button was when I saw her after my HSG at the perimeter location. The PA completed it and then when I walked out to pay I was surprised to see her there as I was told she wasn't available to complete my procedure. I was fine with it because I know their schedules are busy but when I said Hi, excited to see her....it was a wave without anything out of her mouth and like she was forced to say hello. As a doctor you would think she would care to say hi to her patients with a little bit more enthusiasm and care.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Sue Ellen Carpenter at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic)?
I would ask her to give you options and ask her to explain in detail the steps and how you can communicate with her through the process.

When we first met with the doctor she seemed very sweet, but she was quick to tell us we needed to do IVF and wanted to get the process started asap. Being this was our first clinic I wish we would have received a better consultation rather than a stack of papers.

Unfortunately we didn't even get this far. After the HSG we were done with ACRM and decided to find another doctor and practice.

We had to ask them for results every time. There strategy was if it isn't of a concern we aren't going to call you. With this being our first go around we wanted to know every detail. This is a lot of money and time we are spending to make sure we have a family.
I very much like Dr. Carpenter. She was the first infertility specialist that I ever saw, so I was in a pretty emotionally fragile place going into our first meeting. I felt that she took a lot of time to explain everything that was happening and what our next steps were. I never felt rushed. She seems to genuinely care about her patients. On the visits that I was actually able to see her, she took time to answer every single one of my often very long list of questions.
In an attempt to look super organized, each patient has both a designated nurse and a separate designated patient care coordinator. I was sometimes on the phone with one and rather than just booking the appointment, I had to be transferred to someone else. It seemed a lot of steps were involved to do anything. I also felt that the staff didn't have much compassion. They were very hard to reach. I don't think that I EVER was able to get though to my nurse via phone directly. I always had to leave a voicemail and then she would call back. Yes, it was within the designated "appropriate call back time," but I felt as if they almost had a policy of not answering the phone. The nursing staff who drew blood were cordial, but there were times when I was in the office multiple days in a given week. They never seemed to acknowledge that they knew who I was. We had no relationship and they didn't seem to want to develop one. I do understand that they have a lot of patients, but the lack of warmth left something to be desired. I also had a situation occur where I needed to meet with my doctor to discuss something prior to beginning a cycle. I was scheduled for an appointment and was told I would be meeting with my doctor. At the appointment, my nurse told me that was not the case. I was just having blood work to move forward with the cycle. I was very uncomfortable doing so without consulting my doctor and having some questions answered. Despite the fact that I had had a conversation with both her and with my patient care coordinator earlier in the day and had been told I could see Dr. Carpenter, I was now told that it was not scheduled that way and it was not possible. I was informed Dr. Carpenter was with another patient. I suggested that I would wait until whenever she could see me. I was visibly upset and was now crying, but no compassion was shown and I was told I could not meet with her that day. This left a very bad impression on me of the nurse. I do not blame Dr. Carpenter, as it seemed she was unaware that one of her patients was in a room crying and trying to meet with her.

I would suggest someone considering Dr. Carpenter keep in mind that although she is your doctor, you will be spending a somewhat small amount of time with her. Other doctors and staff will be the ones handling many of your procedures, so make sure you are comfortable with feeling like a number during the visits when you do not see Dr. Carpenter.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Sue Ellen Carpenter at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic)?
I always felt that Dr. Carpenter had a great bedside manner. She took time to explain everything and answer questions. I also felt she genuinely cared about things working out for me. Unfortunately, during most of my appointments I was meeting with other doctors, nurse practitioners, or the nursing staff and I did not feel that many of them saw me as much more than a number. This was one of the reasons that I left ACRM.
Describe the protocols Sue Ellen Carpenter used in your cycles at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic) and their degree of success.
I was not ovulating on my own. We did about 4 months of clomid, which did induce ovulation each time but did not result in pregnancy. We then switched to Femara for 2 months, and included 3 IUIs (2 in one cycle) during that time. Both of those months also led to ovulation, but not to pregnancy. We were then discussing IVF, but I switched clinics before beginning that process.

Describe your experience with ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic).
This is a big clinic. It's a baby making factory, and as such you will become just one of the patients moving along the conveyer belt. If you are lucky enough to have a doctor as caring as Dr. Carpenter, I would still say that it's not worth it because you will be bounced around to so many other doctors and nurses and your time with "your" doctor will be limited. Many of my tests and procedures were performed by nurse practitioners, not even other doctors. I was displeased about this because I was paying the same regardless of who performed it. So I would have preferred any doctor, if not MY doctor.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Sue Ellen Carpenter at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic).
Nothing was covered by my insurance, so it all seemed very pricey. It was about 2 years ago at this point, so I do not remember exact numbers. The cost of IVF (which I never started at ACRM) was comparable to other locations in Atlanta, but much more expensive than I was able to find out of state.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic).
I had an appointment scheduled with my assigned doctor and needed to speak with her urgently before staring a treatment cycle. I needed to decide that day whether or not I would start meds. However when I arrived my nurse told me that the appointment was not with my doctor it was just for the blood work necessary to start the cycle. I reminded her what we had discussed earlier that day and what I had also discussed with my patient care coordinator. Despite the truth of what we had discussed, despite my tears and clear emotional distress, I was still not allowed to speak to my doctor even though she was in the office and I offered to meet with her whenever she was free.
We attempted three IVF cycles [with Dr. Carpenter] and were cancelled each time prior to retrieval, against our wishes (the doctor/clinic didn't think there were enough eggs to even try; we just wanted a chance). Basically, we were told they had three protocols and we had tried them all so our "only option" was to move on to donor eggs (note: we switched clinics and were successful on our first cycle with them)... Also, I hated that we didn't get to see our doctor during our treatment cycle - we saw a different doctor at every appointment who didn't know us and didn't want to take the time to get to know us; we were just names on a chart. They made decisions about our care without knowing our situation or preferences...
My nurse [at ACRM - Atl Per] was actually pretty good, though like everyone else at the clinic never congratulated us when we conceived or expressed sorrow when we lost the pregnancies...There is not a culture of compassion for the patients...You will sometimes have to wait a really long time for your appointment... Strengths: Free parking. People who draw blood are very good. Able to get early morning (before work) appointments most of the time...
How was your experience with Sue Ellen Carpenter at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic)?
In my experience she was unwilling to think outside the box/vary from set protocols. She dismissed our preferences (e.g., continue with retrieval despite few eggs), in my opinion, to protect the clinic's success rates (little did she know that our first attempt with a different clinic would be successful). She had little-to-no interaction with us during our cycles. She never congratulated us when we conceived (twice in our ten months with the clinic) or expressed sorrow when either pregnancy failed (at least not until I pointed this fact out to her at which point she did tell us she was sorry but it seemed to be very hard for her to do).
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Sue Ellen Carpenter at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic)?
If, for whatever reason, you decide to give her/this clinic a try and are unsuccessful after a cycle or two, SWITCH TO A DIFFERENT CLINIC (may I suggest Dr. Shapiro at RBA?). If you don't fit the mold, find a doctor/clinic that will think outside the box/treat you as an individual.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Sue Ellen Carpenter at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic)?
My fertility issues did not "fit the mold." We attempted three IVF cycles and were cancelled each time prior to retrieval, against our wishes (the doctor/clinic didn't think there were enough eggs to even try; we just wanted a chance). Basically, we were told they had three protocols and we had tried them all so our "only option" was to move on to donor eggs (note: we switched clinics and were successful on our first cycle with them). I believe the doctor/clinic is probably ok for 90% of people/couples who are "easy" but terrible for those in the other 10%. Also, in the 10 months we worked with this doctor/clinic, we conceived twice (one on our own on a break cycle and once after a cancelled-IVF-converted-to-IUI cycle). We lost both pregnancies but my issue with the doctor (and everyone else at this clinic) is that with neither pregnancy did we hear a "congratulations" upon conception or any expression of sorrow when we lost the pregnancy. Also, I hated that we didn't get to see our doctor during our treatment cycle - we saw a different doctor at every appointment who didn't know us and didn't want to take the time to get to know us; we were just names on a chart. They made decisions about our care without knowing our situation or preferences.

Weaknesses: they have set protocols and don't like to vary from them. They will cancel treatment cycles against your wishes (in my opinion, to protect their success rates). There is not a culture of compassion for the patients. You will likely not get to see your doctor much/at all during your treatment cycle - you'll see a different doctor at every appointment who doesn't know you and won't take the time to get to know you - you'll just be names on a chart. You will sometimes have to wait a really long time for your appointment.

I was fortunate and had most expenses covered by insurance. I paid $40 for each visit (including blood draws, unfortunately) plus out-of-pocket for the meds insurance wouldn't cover.
Dr. Carpenter, is kind and takes time to explain processes and why she recommends what. They are days that I have asked to consult with her outside my regular appointments and she really makes a effort to honor this. She knows my husband and I’s names when we talk to her we walk away relieved and hopeful
Environment is welcoming and the employees are pleasant and always smiling. ... They are also very sensitive and culturally competent. ... And they really do wor around your availability; sometimes it means going in really early or really late after work but they are always willing to see you. I love this place. The only weakness I see is how far it is from where I live

All I can say is she makes the weight of infertility bearable. She’s genuinely concerned about our situation and sometimes reaches out to us at late hours to check in and with recommendations. Dr. Carpenter is wonderful. She's warm, communicative, personable and relatable. She heard my story, we discussed my health history and test results. She explained everything fully and answered every question I had (there were a lot). We came up with a plan for my treatment, we did more testing to address some concerns she had and once all results were in, we discussed and came up with a plan. Said plan is in process.
So far, this clinic [ACRM] has gone above and beyond my expectations. Staff are friendly and kind. They make sure all your needs are met and if something is off, that handle it and find out the answer or fix the problem. I'm a tough critic and I have yet to find an issue. ... My costs will be $8900 to the clinic which includes the dr's fee, anesthesia, the procedure, first year of freezing and the cryo process. The drugs will cost $4500.

Dr. Carpenter was always warm and happy to answer questions about treatment...thought to test the sperm DNA fragmentation, which I 100% credit with our success. She was compassionate and warm and very excited with the results that we got. She called and explained results that didn't require an office visit and always had a plan for moving things forward...We did a full month of estrogen priming with an antagonist protocol, human growth hormone, and picsi. We did everything we could to improve egg quality and also get good fertilization rates. It was a no $ spared, throw the whole kitchen sink at it cycle.
It is big and it can be easy to get lost in the shuffle [at ACRM]. It is also easy to get an appointment and treatment can move very quickly if you want it to. I came back to this clinic because the wait times at another local clinic were significantly higher for a first appointment...My care team changed at some point and I wasn't actually notified. I didn't know who I was supposed to contact for questions and went several days with unanswered questions before I could get a new contact person. The nurses were pretty good, things were just chaotic.

We did pgs testing so we were strongly advised to transfer only one embryo.
Dr. Carpenter made me feel like I mattered. She went out of her way to make sure I understood what was going on. She emailed me and updated me personally as opposed to her office staff updating me. She called me herself to tell me that the transfer worked and that I was finally pregnant. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Carpenter.... I did IVF and did a freeze all cycle because we genetically tested all embryos. We did an antagonist protocol. We used follistim, menopur, and cetrotide.
Overall the office staff [ACRM- Johns Creek] is professional however they could be a little better at communicating and also having compassion. As the patient you must be your own advocate! I did IVF and did a freeze all cycle because we genetically tested all embryos. We did an antagonist protocol. We used follistim, menopur, and cetrotide. Did a trigger shot then had the egg retrieval 36 hours later. About a month later we did a single embryo transfer and used estrace and progesterone to support the pregnancy. The transfer was successful and resulted in a healthy baby girl.

I found her [Dr. Sue Ellen Carpenter] to be very knowledgeable. Her passion is pgd. I really like her. She was warm, but also matter of fact..... She advised me to lose weight, but the way she did it was very clear. She showed me the chart about weight and successful treatment- and told me the number I had to be at for treatment. She was candid, but helpful. When I did lose the weight, and conceive, she checked me early on, despite me not actually needing medical intervention, she was always accessible.
The clinic [ACRM] was peaceful, and I felt comfortable there. For me, with PCOS and being overweight, she really encouraged me to lose weight, and said I probably wouldn't need intervention if I did so. She was right twice. In my case, they did the bloodwork, and she did the ultrasounds. She put me on progesterone when I needed it, and that was about it. She asked about my family, and it always felt like catching up when I'd see her. When I went back to see her when I was trying for a second child, she basically told me I was textbook, and I knew what to do. She was right

Describe Sue Ellen Carpenter's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic).
I really wanted two embryos transferred, but since I am pregnant with one, it is perfect!
She [Dr. Sue Ellen Carpenter] was amazing. She was very knowledgeable & took the time I needed every appointment. She explained everything in great detail & made sure I understood what was happening during every step of the journey...I took many rounds of Clomid & Letrozole to make me ovulate, I had day 3 baseline ultrasounds, then numerous other ultrasounds to see how my ovaries were responding. Then used Estrogen to help with my uterus lining so it would thicken up.
Carla [ACRM nurse] was great. She was very thorough when explaining the plan for my fertility journey from day one to the end of that cycle. She was available to take emails with questions & she responded quickly. She was great...For most of my treatment I had great insurance so there wasn't much cost of me at all. But the most recent insurance company wasn't so good so I paid out of pocket around $4000 total for my embryo transfer.

I feel like everyone knew my case and treated me like an individual not just another patient. They cared and they were upset with me when I got a negative test. They also celebrated with me when I was finally pregnant. I was so scared and sad to leave ACRM and go back to the care of my OB when I was 10 weeks pregnant.
Describe your experience with your nurse at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic).
Just their care and compassion towards my situation.
[Dr. Sue Ellen Carpenter's] Style is very delicate...multiple ultrasound, lab etc without clear cut information and finally started IVF. One day, they just called and asked to stop taking more medication without the reason why. We decided to stop consulting her, felt the pace is really slow and this can be dragged on to years...You will feel like the treatment is being dragged without solid information...We would like to see more aggressive style, with clear cut future of the treatment. Setbacks can be told on the face if any without all the numbered lab visits.

Don't expect miracle from the team.

I wouldn't recommend Dr. Sue to anyone, treatment style is cold fish, dragged on without affirmative information. We would like to see more aggressive style, with clear cut future of the treatment. Setbacks can be told on the face if any without all the numbered lab visits.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Sue Ellen Carpenter at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic)?
Please consult someone else with higher rating if your case is even if a little complicated. You will never get them in a call, and will feel like number.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Sue Ellen Carpenter at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic).
My plan is Cigna HDHP, out of pocket max 6K. I have been told that the plan fully covers IVF after 6K is paid off and a few 1K for medication. But I ended up paying 3K for the first cycle and 5K for second at that point we stopped IVF. Not sure how the drug cost went up that level.
Describe Sue Ellen Carpenter's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic).
Sorry! we didn't go that far. Personally we don't like the approach of multiple transfer; just reading through the downside of it.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at ACRM (CCRM Fertility Network Clinic).
We felt really bad to stop the IVF in the middle after taking all the medications and all the lab.
Dr. Carpenter is extremely knowledgeable and kind...She went over all my previous tests carefully and gave the best suggestions. She use the minimum amount of medication and stimulate follicles successfully...is very realistic too...did not use the aggressive stimulation medication but her minimal stimulation protocol worked pretty well...5 days of letrozols.
The clinic [Bloom Fertility] is clean and organized. All the staff are very happy and helpful. The nurse has good skill of drawing blood. I have thin vessels, and scare of drawing blood. The nurse worked here made this easy...did not use the aggressive stimulation medication but her minimal stimulation protocol worked pretty well...tried her best to reduce our cost.

Dr. Carpenter is extremely knowledgeable and kind. She respect her career and care for her patients very much. She is the super hero for women who are struggling to have a baby. She is very realistic too. She told me my chance is not ver high and suggested me to let go first. When I insisted to have a try, she did not use the aggressive stimulation medication but her minimal stimulation protocol worked pretty well.

I had a complex medical history, and Dr. Carpenter still treated me with grace. She got to know us personally and I felt like we had a close relationship...is lovely both personally and professionally...we had high expectations, and she did not disappoint. Dr. Carpenter was warm but professional. We felt complete confidence in her ability to help us reach our fertility goals...She is very accepting and easy to work with: however, she is very direct with her medical advise.
The clinic [ACRM] is overall very nice. You do see different providers during your time at ACRM- but they are all great. I was not super impressed with communication during the testing period; however, once we began IVF communication was quick and crystal clear...The office assigns a specific nurse and care coordinators to each patient. This sounds good at first; however, you typically have to wait to get in contact with that specific person. Sometimes I wish you could just call the office and talk to someone.
