Dr. Thakore was very patient with me and listened to everything I had to say...has a great bedside manner as well as is very knowledgeable...did an excellent job with my myomectomy surgery where she removed all 15 fibroids and I healed perfectly...gave intuitive recommendations of what I should do with my treatments.
[At UC Health Center for Reproductive Health] During my doctor visits, all staff were always professional, and very friendly, and ensured that they took care of my needs or questions in a timely manner...nurses were quick to contact me for any follow-up care....very efficient in obtaining initial information for any telecall for Dr. Thakore
How was your experience with Suruchi Thakore at UC Health Center for Reproductive Health?
Dr. Thakore has a great bedside manner as well as is very knowledgeable with being a reproductive endocrinologist. She thoroughly examines your medical history and recommends the best course of action catered to your particular situation. Even with the 2-hour distance, Dr. Thakore was able to work with me via telecall and give me later appointments so I could make the appointments. She notably did an excellent job with my myomectomy surgery where she removed all 15 fibroids and I healed perfectly.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Suruchi Thakore at UC Health Center for Reproductive Health?
Part of why I was so successful with Dr. Thakore's recommendations is because I did research on my issues and asked a lot of questions. Based off my research, allowed me to understand what Dr. Thakore recommended and why. Prospective patients should do their individual research of their issues or concerns and then write down questions to ask the doctor to make them understand the recommended treatments.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Suruchi Thakore at UC Health Center for Reproductive Health?
Dr. Thakore was very patient with me and listened to everything I had to say. She took into consideration not only what I said but judged through emotional intelligence how to interact with me and gave intuitive recommendations of what I should do with my treatments.
Describe the protocols Suruchi Thakore used in your cycles at UC Health Center for Reproductive Health and their degree of success.
Dr. Thakore first started me on 3 monthly rounds of low-dose clomid. This was used to see if we could get pregnant naturally. Then we did 2 or 3 months of timed intercourse to see if we could get pregnant naturally. Then, we did 1 round of IUI under the Doctor's observation but were unsuccessful in that.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at UC Health Center for Reproductive Health.
The nurses were quick to contact me for any follow-up care. They were very efficient in obtaining initial information for any telecall for Dr. Thakore. They were very professional and had great bedside manners.
Describe your experience with UC Health Center for Reproductive Health.
The University of Cincinnati Reproductive Health Center is hands down the best medical care that I had in my adult life. When I had my surgery, the care that I received while admitted was phenomenal. The staff was professional, caring, compassionate, and sincerely concerned for my well-being. During my doctor visits, all staff were always professional, and very friendly, and ensured that they took care of my needs or questions in a timely manner. On the other hand, once Dr. Thakore departed at the beginning of my IUI session, the Doctor who took over seemed to rush or treat me as a number.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Suruchi Thakore at UC Health Center for Reproductive Health.
Tricare paid for all diagnostic testing, surgeries, medications, and procedures. The only service that was not covered was the IUI procedure which was fairly cost-effective and affordable.

Unfortunately I would not recommend Suruchi Thakore. I left every appointment feeling defeated and feeling unheard in my treatment plans. She did not document properly during my SIS procedure and almost resulting in my current dr finding tissue in my uterus. She lacks bedside manner and overall empathy for her patients who are struggling with infertility...she pushed IVF and did not give much information or show interest in my care. She “forgot” I had a chemical pregnancy the week prior and did not document properly.
Unfortunately I do not have anything positive to say about this clinic [UC Health Center for Reproductive Health]. She put me on letrozole and progesterone pills. I successfully got pregnant 3/6 cycles and miscarried each time. She offered for me to continuing trying with these meds or to try IVF. She did not offer additional testing or other solutions.
Describe your experience with UC Health Center for Reproductive Health.
Unfortunately I do not have anything positive to say about this clinic. They did not treat me as a priority nor did they deem sensitivity to a person who was struggling with pregnancy and remaining pregnant. My current dr found my issue within the second appointment and almost missed it due to the SIS test being improperly reported.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at UC Health Center for Reproductive Health.
As I mentioned earlier, I was not treated well at any of my visits. Tests were ordered and I was told nothing is wrong so just keep trying. I had three more miscarriages and they did not want to change anything I was doing. I felt like IVF was being pushed pretty consistently. During my SIS procedure, she said that I had a “ widows peak” at the top of my uterus but it was nothing to be worried about. Later on I looked at my SIS documents and all my results were listed as “normal.” When I asked about why she verbally said I had a widows peak and did not see it in my chart she said that it was because I had a heart shaped uterus. Again none of this info was in my chart. After changing dr, they received her SIS reports and was concerned that it was falsified and redid the test. Immediately they found tissue at the top of my uterus and scheduled a surgery to remove it. This could have been missed my entire life if I continued care at UC.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
I felt as though [Dr. Thakore] treated me like Hope was just around the corner with the proper timing and medication. She ensured me after my previous miscarriage that it’s good that I can get pregnant it’s just a matter of sustaining the pregnancy. She has a positive spin on even the worst of situations....Being vegan and her knowing my dietary status it was made sure I was on proper prenatals and each ultrasound was analyzed and looked at carefully. During my transfers I was explained each step of the way and kept as calm as possible during each.
Calling [UC Health Center] to contact and IVF nurse or your doctor can be a process which may be due to the volume of clientele. You must first call the call center they put a note into the nurses station. Once the nurses have time to contact you or the doctor it can be sometimes 30 mins, hours possibly a day or so depending on the urgency....The technician that was outsourced by the coinic I go to asked me how I was while drawing my blood and said she was sorry for what had happened. Resulting in me asking what she was speaking in reference to.
How was your experience with Suruchi Thakore at UC Health Center for Reproductive Health?
I believe that she is a comfortable doctor to communicate with. The first Dr. that I saw in the practice did not appear to be a good fit after a few visits. It just so happened I saw her for an appointment one day and really felt comfortable under her care. I felt a better understanding and how she was planning to get the best out of each cycle.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Suruchi Thakore at UC Health Center for Reproductive Health?
Take notes, listen, ask all and any questions (nothing is ever a silly question) and know that they are doing the best they can to get you pregnant

During my FET’s that I had under her care. We monitored my progesterone and ran a lot of blood work to ensure my dosage was changed accordingly. Being vegan and her knowing my dietary status it was made sure I was on proper prenatals and each ultrasound was analyzed and looked at carefully. During my transfers I was explained each step of the way and kept as calm as possible during each.
Describe your experience with your nurse at UC Health Center for Reproductive Health. (Assigned nurse: Katherine)
Katherine is very thorough and understands concerns and question while answering them very well. She does not think of you as a number but a patient she is helping in a very tough and personal journey. She is very kind and thoughtful.
Describe your experience with UC Health Center for Reproductive Health.
Communication is key with being in contact with your medical staff. Calling to contact and IVF nurse or your doctor can be a process which may be due to the volume of clientele. You must first call the call center they put a note into the nurses station. Once the nurses have time to contact you or the doctor it can be sometimes 30 mins, hours possibly a day or so depending on the urgency. I’ve spoken with other IVF patients across the state and they’ve not heard a process such as this.... again I know it’s due to volume of each individual clinic but I wish they had a better source of communication.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Suruchi Thakore at UC Health Center for Reproductive Health.
The retrieval of the embryos was $10,000 I had 3 retrieval’s that were $1,500+ I also had a hysteroscopy which was $1,500. Each ultrasound appointment was a co pay of $35 I went on average 2x a week I’ve been undergoing treatment for over a year.
Describe Suruchi Thakore's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at UC Health Center for Reproductive Health.
I had 36 eggs retrieved 6 made it to maturity and to freeze. I had to opt to freezing them due to OHSS I was hospitalized for 4 days due to fluid retention and swelling. 1 cycle passed and 1 embryo was transferred the first time, both sides of my family genetically carry twins. The risk of multiples was a concern. When resulting in a negative beta we moved forward with 2 which resulted in a single pregnancy that I lost at 7 1/2 weeks. She suggested after this cycle to have another 2 transferred which one embryo did not make the thaw resulting in our last two embryos to transfer with a negative result. My progesterone dropped to low to sustain pregnancy

The technician that was outsourced by the coinic I go to asked me how I was while drawing my blood and said she was sorry for what had happened. Resulting in me asking what she was speaking in reference to. She said she was sorry about my miscarriage and that she hoped things worked out. At this time I was pregnant and it was my second beta blow draw. I responded by telling her I had a positive blood test and that she must have confused me with another patient. I was upset and flustered , even questioned if possibly my doctor gave me the wrong results. When my doctor called me back with my second beta results I told her of the conversation had with the technician and she apologized for the incident and ensured me that I was pregnant. Just a few a weeks later I miscarried and it really shook me. The technician must not work at this location anymore she has been replaced ever since I mentioned this situation. Unsure if it was due to what I said or not. But the entire situation upset me

Dr. Thakore is very passionate about her patient. She is very straight with what's going on with your cycle but also showed optimization with good back up plan. She explains thing very clearly and is always using evidence to back it up which is what we are hoping for.... Antagonist protocol with birth control/Gonal-f and menapur/antagonise with cetrotide... Dr. Thakore always tailors my needs instead of just telling me my test result. She puts effort trying to explain the reason behind her decision instead of bluntly telling me to do what was told. She also understands my concerns and will make effort to accommodate them.
It [UC Health Center for Reproductive Health] is somewhat newer clinic so they may not have done that many IVFs as some of other clinic in the clinic. But physicians in the clinic are all very well trained, very easy to communicate with and are tailoring to our needs regarding what we prefer in terms of communication style. All staff members are very friendly and very prompt in responding to message and it is very easy to make appointment. This clinic requires to have deductible paid upfront and that's the only way to get treatment started. I was hoping that they allows pay that after bills come out since it would be rare to have someone not pay an IVF service.

We thought we had a failed cycle [with Dr. Thakore] because only one egg developed and it was having a hard time growing. Instead of waiting for the next cycle to start, as we’ve done with doctors in the past, she suggested redosing the ovulation medication to see if the egg would continue to grow. Well, it did! And after a successful IUI, we now we have our perfect baby boy!!! We owe everything to Dr. Thakore’s suggestion as we are so in love with our baby boy.
Everyone [at UC Health Center for Reproductive Health] was very friendly and knowledgeable. We wish we could have only seen certain doctors however, because sometimes you see other doctors. Don’t underestimate her because she seems young... she has great suggestions and without her idea to redose our ovulation med during the same cycle, we would not have our baby. No other fertility doctor has ever done that! I recommended her to my office mate who is currently doing IVF and she is so thankful for the recommendation

She [Dr. Suruchi Thakore] explained the risk and success rate in each particular procedure choice. IUI, IVF and timed intercourse...She was amazing at explaining to me and my partner what each step Would look like. She didn’t mind questions she encouraged it. She made it less uncomfortable. Like a woman talking to another... Explained what value range they preferred for labs and why its important. She talked to not just me but my partner during exam and ultrasound. Pointing out everything she saw and what we should see during ovulation and conception. She extremely detailed and caring.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
She [Dr. Suruchi Thakore] is very knowledgeable and caring. She wants to do what is best for each person/couple. She makes sure we know what to expect each step of the way. We are fully involved in each step of the testing and treatment. Nothing feels forced... felt like my doctor cares about achieving individual results based on our health record...I have had no issues getting g appointments...monitored cycles with Femara and trigger.
They [nursing staff at UC Health Center for Reproductive Health] are down to earth, knowledgeable, and caring...I have had no issues getting g appointments, dealing with any paperwork, etc. I would make sure you know the costs up front in order to be prepared before proceeding. That is the only drawback for us was not knowing the cost of each cycle, including medications...we are waiting to start our monitored cycles with Femara and trigger.
