Dr. Lobel is the doctor, biller, receptionist, patient care advocate, etc. Dr. Lobel takes a deep interest in every detail of your care and personally sees to each and every aspect of your care...She will spend HOURS answering any and all questions and you will never leave the office without a perfect understanding of your treatment and your results. Despite numerous failed attempts before our ultimate success, we never once considered switching doctors....
Didn't spend much time at the clinic [Metropolitan Reproductive Medicine]. The IUIs were done at Dr. Lobel's office and the retrieval and transfer went smoothly at the clinic. They were on time, communicated well, and allowed for successful procedures...There are no nurses at Dr. Lobel's office, just at the lab...After 2 unsuccessful single embryo transfer, us and Dr. Lobel decided on a multiple embryo transfer...

Describe the protocols Susan Lobel used in your cycles at Metropolitan Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
Dr. Lobel began with Clomid to stimulate follicle growth. After 3 unsuccessful follicle cycles with Clomid combined with an ovulation trigger injection and natural insemination, we did the same with 3 cycles of Letrozol. After that, we did 3 Letrozol/ IUI cycles. Finally we did an IVF egg retrieval (Gonal-F, Menopure, and Lupron) along with 3 frozen transfers (lupron, progesterone, estrogen). We are currently pregnant after a successful frozen embyo transfer.

As a Progyny beneficiary, the costs were all covered.
Describe Susan Lobel's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Metropolitan Reproductive Medicine.
Very conservative. My wife is a healthy 25 year old woman so Dr. Lobel was hesitant to do a multiple embryo transfer. After 2 unsuccessful single embryo transfer, us and Dr. Lobel decided on a multiple embryo transfer.

The whole experience with Susan Lobel was great. She is a brilliant and kind physician...She will not compromise her medical beliefs and values for anyone or anything - this is something I appreciated it!...She was committed to trying rounds of 3 and if that didnt work, progressing to the next level...She is a solo practitioner and she really takes time and care with each patient. I never waited, she always schedules clients with enough time so that you dont feel rushed, and she truly is invested in her patients.
She [Dr. Susan Lobel at Metropolitan Reproductive Medicine] doesnt have a nurse but the nurses at the clinic where the egg retrieval and transfers take place are great...I appreciated the fact that she was a solo practitioner and that she didnt have a nurse. She ran efficiently and on time. Her clinic for the retrieval and transfer was small and it felt like everyone was kind and attentive...She is a solo practitioner and she really takes time and care with each patient. After 2 previous clinics I finally Came to Dr. Lobel. Automatically I realized what an amazing clinic should be like. Nothing is overlooked. She puts everything she has into her work and makes sure she gives it her all. She is caring and calls right away giving you as much of her time as you need. Every step is done by her. There aren’t any nurses or other staff members so you are never a number
A visit for ultrasound and blood work was about $230 Consultation was about $500 [at Metropolitan Reproductive Medicine]...You will not be passed around and overlooked because she [Dr. Susan Lobel] is the only one in her office...a one woman show. She answers the phones , takes your blood, does the ultrasounds , and calls you herself. She is compassionate and makes sure you are always ok

She [Dr. Susan Lobel] is very knowledgeable, thorough, and spends a lot of time with her patients. She is not alarmist and gives measured medical advice. Because she is a sole practitioner, you get a very personal experience...Dr. Lobel is very quick to return calls and are very on top of each patient's schedule....Her protocol has been three months of letrozole with no other interventions, three months of iui, and then onto ivf. Her rationale seems to be that three months is long enough to get a sense whether this treatment will work for an individual patient, after which it's best to move on to the next intervention. So far, I am on my third month of iui and not yet pregnant.
