[Dr. Mukherjee is] very quick and direct. He’s not emotional and doesn’t do any hand holding. He doesn’t give any extra information. But he is clearly very knowledgeable and experienced and he does answer all of my millions of questions patiently...I did single transfer every time, which is what I wanted. There was no reason to think multiple was necessary.
Strengths [of RMA of NY] is that it’s big, doctors are very experienced, the whole practice is very experienced and well oiled. If you want a smaller more attentive approach, maybe this is not the place for you but this place feels like the gold standard of fertility care...transfer is 4k each time. IUI I think was 1k each time. Egg retrieval much more, maybe around 11k

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Tanmoy Mukherjee at RMA of New York?
His staff is amazing and he is quick to answer any questions. Very direct. I feel comfortable given his level of expertise that has become apparent throughout my years in his care, but don’t expect a particularly warm bedside manner.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Tanmoy Mukherjee at RMA of New York?
He is a very straight forward, no nonsense doctor. I like that about him. But he is not necessarily warm and doesn’t hold your hand.
Describe the protocols Tanmoy Mukherjee used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.
My IUI was unmedicated, I had no diagnosed fertility issues. For my co-IVF, where I transferred my wife’s embryo, I was given progesterone, estrogen, medrol, azithromiacin, and baby aspirin.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at RMA of New York.
Mostly only on weekends. I just had to call again and clarify and it was fixed.
Dr Mukherjee did an excellent job with my care. I do wish I could have seen him a bit more often, but I understand that he has a life and many other patients as well. He was very responsive to email and made sure to call me when there was something serious going on. ... When I was worried about my bHCG numbers with my second pregnancy, he called me to reassure me. He made sure to do 2/3 of my embryo transfers.
However, the day to day process [at RMA - East Side] made me feel like a number. The morning monitoring situation was insane, like a cattle call. And the daily updates and instructions were given by a nurse. ... 99 percent of the time, the nursing staff was amazing. I learned to request specific nurses for bloodwork as my veins are difficult.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Tanmoy Mukherjee at RMA of New York?
Make sure to advocate for yourself. Do your research and ask about all possible options, don’t just do exactly what they tell you to do, find out why.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Tanmoy Mukherjee at RMA of New York?
I felt like a human during my meetings with Dr Mukherjee. When I was worried about my bHCG numbers with my second pregnancy, he called me to reassure me. He made sure to do 2/3 of my embryo transfers. However, the day to day process made me feel like a number. The morning monitoring situation was insane, like a cattle call. Describe the protocols Tanmoy Mukherjee used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.
I don’t remember specifics for my retrieval cycle. For my most recent transfer cycle, vaginal progesterone was used in addition to oral progesterone and estrogen. I feel that my progesterone levels fluctuated a lot and I wonder if vaginal progesterone was the best option. Especially because this most recent transfer resulted in a miscarriage.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at RMA of New York.
99 percent of the time, the nursing staff was amazing. I learned to request specific nurses for bloodwork as my veins are difficult. Liza and Sima were the only ones who could get my blood painlessly every time. My one negative experience was during my first cycle. I was not responding as well as we had hoped to the medication and it looked like I was not going to get very many eggs. I was sobbing in the nurses office and she was not at all compassionate and basically just suggested we try another round. We were paying out of pocket and at the time could not afford another round so that was not at all helpful.
Describe Tanmoy Mukherjee's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at RMA of New York.
My doctor had a very strong preference for single embryo transfer. His reasoning made sense, I was seeing him for a genetic disorder that can cause pregnancy to be high risk, so we didn’t want to increase the risk by having a multiple pregnancy.

Describe the protocols Tanmoy Mukherjee used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.
1 cycle - we did Monopur (2-4 vials) Gonal F (300 ml) Cetrotude. Collected 13 eggs, no viable embryo
2 cycle - same but added Clomid - so far this was the most successful cycle, as out of 13 eggs we’ve managed to create 1 healthy embryo
3 cycle repeated the 2nd, however we’ve collected 20 eggs, and no healthy embryo after the 5 days bliocyst and PGT analysis
4 cycle we took slower, I was on the oral contraceptive for few days, then we’re waiting for another few days then minimal dose of Menopur (1 vial), Gonal F (300-175 ml) and Cetrotide. So far collected 19 eggs, hopefully there will be few healthy embryos after that. Still in progress

Dr.M says that even with 1 healthy embryo there is a big chance to have a healthy baby. I’m being hopeful, but also want more embryos, in case, but also if we can have 2 healthy babies

Dr. Mukherjee recommend IVF treatment for us and explained why he recommended that particular treatment for us and why other treatments wouldn't work for our particular circumstance. We were able to start at the time desirable to us and careful and frequent monitoring throughout the process allowed for adjustment of medications to produce 39 eggs of which 14 embryos were produced 6 survived and 3 ended up being normal. Dr. Mukherjee transferred 1 which resulted in a successful pregnancy and we have 2 embryos left in storage for future implementation. To have this happen on the first try was a dream cone true for us!

Describe your experience with RMA of New York.
The clinic is clean, takes strict covid precautions and is professionally run. The service time a very quick and the wait time is not long at all. They also in most cases try to work around your schedule if possible for the appointment times. My only comment for improvement would be that they send clear notifications when they change any policies as they changed the ability for partners to attend baby screenings due to increasing covod cases but didn't send clear communication ahead of time

He [Dr. Mukherjee] was thorough, kind, compassionate and really took his time to explain everything to both my husband and I. From the moment we stepped into his office, he went over every step of IVF in detail with us...I emailed Dr. Mukherjee after my retrieval as I had questions and he called me back immediately....
I really do not think that RMA had any weaknesses. I think they were great at explaining the processes, explaining the medication instructions, giving instructions on where to go and when to arrive for different procedures. I would recommend just writing everything down and keeping a calendar for your medications and appointments...Listen carefully to the instructions given, lean on RMA for support and you can always email the doctor.

[Dr. Mukherjee is a ]Pro active doctor with good and Frank communication. No issues were sugar coated and all options were laid out clearly. He was efficient with the course of treatment and didn’t waste time ensuring that when the original plan didn’t work, we moved onto other options...Started with full course or tests and trying to diagnose route causes of miscarriage..

Good for keeping time slots and moving through appointments quickly. Good sanitary environment during COVID-19...Good [nurses] overall but I received some incorrect information along the way eg the number of eggs fertilized. I found them more negative than Dr Mukherjee with the potential outcome along the way.

Information about egg maturity was insensitively handled; information about fertilized eggs were first incorrectly communicated.
Dr. Mukherjee is an exceptional doctor. He is extremely knowledgeable and most importantly a compassionate person. Always responsive via phone and email. Always reassuring and confident that our course of treatment would work...My right ovary would produce the most eggs which is the tube that is blocked. We proceeded to IVF. The first round of IVF unfortunately was not successful as the eggs did not fertilize. This was a surprise to both the doctors and myself as all my labs indicated my egg quality was good and no other issues. Also, I already had a baby previously. We proceeded with a different medication protocol and did ICSI. 2 embryos were transferred and 1 implanted. A positive test a couple weeks later. I just delivered my healthy baby 3 weeks ago.
