Dr. Erb is extremely thorough and descriptive about the entire process- something that 100% made me feel comfortable and at ease about the biggest undertaking of our lives... She was always patient with us and answered all of our questions- we never felt rushed. She explained every medication, every procedure- and all the reasons why- that really helped to satisfy and put at ease my Type A mind...
I felt like I got truly individualized and personal care at the Daytona location [Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine]...it was a smaller and more intimate setting. From Elana that answers the phone and greets you, Jenny that helps with billing, Crystal that checked my vitals and drew blood, our nurse coordinator Susan, and of course Dr. Erb- we feel like family there. Everyone is on a first name basis- they all know you- ask about your life- and honestly and genuinely want this journey to be successful.
How was your experience with Teresa Erb at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine?
Dr Erb is simply the best. She was always patient with us and answered all of our questions- we never felt rushed. She explained every medication, every procedure- and all the reasons why- that really helped to satisfy and put at ease my Type A mind.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Teresa Erb at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine?
Trust her.The news isn’t always going to be what you want to hear but I absolutely believe that she 100% wants what you want- and she knows how to get it for you. I have a beautiful baby boy, and another one kicking away inside me because of her and I will be forever grateful.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Teresa Erb at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine?
Dr. Erb is extremely thorough and descriptive about the entire process- something that 100% made me feel comfortable and at ease about the biggest undertaking of our lives. She took the time and taught us why we needed to do what we were doing from a medical standpoint, she coached us through every procedure and set back, and she has cheered us along as we now have had two (for two) successful transfers- our beautiful baby boy and another one the way. I have always felt like she GENUINELY wants what we want - healthy babies- and even though it hasn’t always been easy- she has been a true hand-in hand partner along the way.
Describe the protocols Teresa Erb used in your cycles at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
I don’t remember the names of the protocols- but because of my chromosomal abnormality the goal was to retrieve the most amount of eggs so that the odds of having some good eggs was better. I’m also a large person- 5’9” and 200lbs so I was on the max doses of endometrin and o Other meds I took. Round one- 16 eggs retrieved, 7 made it to day 5, 2 tested as normal - currently pregnant with one, the other is still on ice. Round two- 13 eggs retrieved, 6 made it to day 2 5, 1 tested as normal- my beautiful, perfect, amazing little boy ❤️
Describe your experience with your nurse at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine. (Assigned nurse: Susan)
Everyone is fabulous! We were primarily seen at the Daytona office which I loved because it was a smaller and more intimate setting.
Describe your experience with Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine.
I felt like I got truly individualized and personal care at the Daytona location. I enjoy going to that office- even given the stress of this IVF process I always feel a huge sense of support when I’m there- like everyone is cheering you on because they KNOW me. My ONLY, even slightly negative experience was when we had to go to the larger ‘corporate’-feeling Jacksonville office. It wasn’t even negative- it’s just that I never got that warm huggy feeling like I do at the smaller office. The lady at check in doesn’t know my name or ask what my two year dressed as for Halloween. The woman checking my vitals doesn’t watch the same drama as me and chat me up about last weeks plot twist. I still saw Dr. Erb and and felt at ease- but I think the whole ‘vibe’ of the Daytona office really spoiled me.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Teresa Erb at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine.
I think each retrieval was around $12,000- plus the cost of medications. Each FET was $3000 plus the cost of medications Embryo storage was $400 after the finest two years. The medications will get you. During our first retrieval nothing was covered by insurance, for the second retrieval some was. I was on the highest doses because of the size and wanting to get the most eggs possible. During our first FET a study had been released - something about the progesterone shots being very effective- so we added that to the protocol. At our second FET consult we discussed the studies about the progesterone injection effectiveness and ultimately decided with De. Erbs guidance to exclusively do the shots - and it was a huge $$$ savings. And it worked 👍🏻
Describe Teresa Erb's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine.
The risks of multiple births were explained to us. As ‘fun’ and ‘exciting’ as twins sound- we wanted the best possible outcome for an uncomplicated pregnancy and a healthy baby. That being said- we implanted one and conceived mo/di twins. At 12 weeks we saw MFM and learned that one of our twins didn’t have a heartbeat. Dr Erb got the report and called me- even after I was no longer under her care. She made sure I understood the prognosis from the other doctor (which was favorable for the surviving twin). That moment really stuck with me. The second embryo we implanted already had two inner cellar masses at the time of freezing. While we were hoping for the best- Dr. Erb still referred us to a geneticist before the transfer just so that we were prepared for all the possible outcomes. Given our over-achieving embryos’ desire to divide we’re thankful that we did not implant two.

Dr. Erb has been the best doctor for me. She is thorough and would answer all of my questions, even when I thought maybe I was asking too many. As someone who works in the medical field, I felt like I had a more in depth understanding of certain treatments and processes, and she perfectly walked the line of talking medical to me (which I appreciated), while explaining the things I was less familiar with...I appreciate her unwavering support, honesty, and perseverance through the entire process.
[Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine] Smaller overall office so feels more personal; cycles are personalized, not batched; several locations in Jacksonville area/Florida for convenience; in house biopsy for genetic testing...[nursing staff] Always returned calls in a timely manner. Took time to go over instructions...Nurses and staff were compassionate and helpful...Dr. Erb reassured me with plans along the way that eventually led to our beautiful daughter.

As someone who works in the medical field, I felt like I had a more in depth understanding of certain treatments and processes, and she perfectly walked the line of talking medical to me (which I appreciated), while explaining the things I was less familiar with. We had a long road to our first baby including multiple IUIs, 2 retrievals, 3 transfers, and 3 losses and never once did I feel like I was not in good hands. The circumstances were awful and completely unexpected, but Dr. Erb reassured me with plans along the way that eventually led to our beautiful daughter. I appreciate her unwavering support, honesty, and perseverance through the entire process.

Describe the protocols Teresa Erb used in your cycles at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
Standard protocol for first retrieval which yielded only 1 genetically normal embryo, added growth hormone for 2nd retrieval and that yielded 8 euploid embryos that we know of 2 failed transfers prior to adding immune protocol for 3rd transfer (aspirin, Claritin, Pepcid lovenox)

Menopour protocol for retrieval along with every 3 days egg count ultrasound trigger shout before retrieval, retrieval under anesthesia, office called in fertilized eggs, I did have to call the office for every single step to be pushed forward, birth control, endometrin, ethylared progesterone, and estrogen daily, attempts to increase progesterone during my miscarriage however I had sub chorionic hemorrhage that resulted in lost she suggested no D&C and had a natural passing

When being educated on medication and timing the nurse assumed that I would know what to do. Resulting in wrong medication being taken and cycle being canceled. I really appreciate how caring and nice Dr. Erb is. She was able to help us establish a plan and gave us hope. We struggle with male infertility and she was very reassuring through the not so great test results that we still had options to try...makes me feel like she truly cares. She listens to my concerns and answers any questions we have throughly while giving in depth explanations to results, procedures, and options for next steps.
I think right now they [FIRM-Jacksonville] are short staffed, so scheduling an appointment is very challenging...Besides the frustrations with scheduling and long wait times, once you get in and actually see the doctor its a pleasant experience...the nurse said she would ask Dr. Erb and call me back. She called me within the hour with more details and I really appreciated that.
How was your experience with Teresa Erb at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine?
I really appreciate how caring and nice Dr. Erb is. She was able to help us establish a plan and gave us hope. We struggle with male infertility and she was very reassuring through the not so great test results that we still had options to try. After almost a year on medications my husbands sperm have improved from 0 to a normal range but are abnormal in shape. She was very kind in explaining exactly what that meant and told us our possible next steps; we scheduled an HSG procedure for Monday then will start IUI. I appreciate how thorough she is with directions and information. Her calm demeanor helps me feel at ease during an otherwise stressful time.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Teresa Erb at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine?
If you have questions write them down because she will definitely answer them all for you.

To help treat my husbands lack of sperm, he had to do Pregnyl injections every other day and his testosterone levels were monitored by an Endocrinologist we were referred to by Dr. Erb. She also prescribed me Vitamin d3 after our initial visit when my bloodwork showed my levels were low. We are now on a vitamin regime she recommended as we prep for IUI after my HSG procedure.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine. (Assigned nurse: Patty)
I've talked to a couple of nurses, Patty and Lisa are the 2 names I remember. They were very friendly. I had a question about a result, the nurse said she would ask Dr. Erb and call me back. She called me within the hour with more details and I really appreciated that.
Describe your experience with Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine.
I think right now they are short staffed, so scheduling an appointment is very challenging. The book over a month out and seem to reschedule appointments last minute which is very frustrating when you wait weeks or months for an appointment. Besides the frustrations with scheduling and long wait times, once you get in and actually see the doctor its a pleasant experience.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Teresa Erb at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine.
We've had a copay for our check up visits but have paid 85$ for semen analysis and will be paying 95$ for the HSG procedure (copay plus a 60$ fee the hospital is charging). The Pregnyl medication was extremely costly at almost 500$ a month which we used for close to a year.

Describe the protocols Teresa Erb used in your cycles at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
We had an IUI procedure. We used letrozole for egg growth and did a trigger shot at home. My husband then produced a fresh semen sample through a retrieval process used for retrograde ejaculation (enzyme inserted in to bladder with a catheter and then retrieval through urine sample). After the sperm was cleaned we had the IUI procedure and I remained laying down for 10 minutes. 2 weeks later we had our positive pregnancy test. I carried to 38 weeks when I had a cesarean.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine. (Assigned nurse: Suzanne)
We love Suzanne. She did all 3 of our sperm retrievals and we called her our good luck charm as all 3 resulted in a pregnancy (2 live births). She was great at explaining the procedure and was always wonderful about following up.

I think it’s important to pick a doctor that you are comfortable with. We had two wonderful doctors here (Dr. Freeman and Dr. Erb) and two successes. We did have one emergency Saturday appointment and I appreciate that they are there any day needed.

Dr. Erb prescribed an HSG and then a Hysteroscopy because she saw a mass that was suspicious. During the Hysteroscopy she ended up removing some polyps and also noticed that I had lesions from Endometriosis on my uterus. She then prescribed treatment with Lupron for two months to control de Endometriosis before the embryo transfer. When I voiced my concerns about Lupron, she switched to a month of Letrozole 7.5/day. I will then keep taking bcp, and after a couple of weeks will start estrace for other 2 weeks
Their main clinic [Florida Inst for Repro Med] is in Jacksonville and they have a smaller clinic in Daytona. I wish I had known that the same level of care is not available in the Daytona office. Everyone is very nice and helpful at that office, but it is a lot smaller and doesn't offer all the services.... The main care coordinator, Emma, is really nice and helpful, yet it seems like she might have too much stuff going on and sometimes she gives the impression that some balls are dropped. She also seems a little bit in a hurry when I talk to her, so I need to have already written down and ready the questions I need to ask her.
How was your experience with Teresa Erb at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine?
Dr. Erb has a quiet disposition and seems a little bit young. However, she is very thorough in her work and seems very knowledgeable. I was very thankful when she listened to my concerns about a treatment she had prescribed and was willing to go over the alternatives and found something we both felt more comfortable with.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Teresa Erb at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine?
Be prepared to ask questions. Take notes and don't be afraid to ask if you don't understand something. Slow her down if necessary. She is great.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Teresa Erb at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine?
On my first consultation. Dr. Erb was very professional, yet I felt like Dr. Erb was in a hurry and spoke quickly to explain the procedures, etc. However, on my next consults she was very kind and listened to my questions, answering them as best as she could. She didn't pretend to have all the answers, but always tried her best to let us know that she would find the best treatment for us. So, I definitely felt like a human.

The main care coordinator, Emma, is really nice and helpful, yet it seems like she might have too much stuff going on and sometimes she gives the impression that some balls are dropped. She also seems a little bit in a hurry when I talk to her, so I need to have already written down and ready the questions I need to ask her. All her directions are given orally, nor written, which sometimes seems like it would be easier to make a mistake or miscalculate.

It seems to be a good clinic, which has lots of good reviews in the State. Their main clinic is in Jacksonville and they have a smaller clinic in Daytona. I am not done yet, but the procedure for a transfer embryo is supposed to be between 7,000 and 10,000 including consultations and ultrasounds.
Describe Teresa Erb's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine.
My doctor did have a very strong preference to single embryo transfer in my case because of my age (45). She said it would be too risky to implant more than one embryo at a time. We believed her, but it didn't seem like that was open for discussion

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine.
There was a little confusion with whether I should be taking bcp before a procedure. I wasn't told anything when getting instructions, and then I was called back to be told I needed to take it. There was also an incident where I was scheduled a procedure before it was the right time during my cycle, so I had to go again later. I must say that was a weird cycle for me, though, otherwise it would've probably been ok even if not on the fifth day

Dr. Erb was able to tailor our treatment to my specific needs. She made sure that we were confident with the course that we were taking. She was always sure to explain things without being to clinical. She made me feel like I was in control of my infertility treatment and offered us options. She was very thorough and has performed all of my ultrasounds, and my HSG...Be prepared to have a large battery of tests run first before you begin treatment. She is very thorough and does not like to start until all of your results have come in to give a clearer picture of what you are up against.
The costs [at FIRM] are actually reasonable from what I've seen other practices charge. They have several IVF options to help with most budgets. They were able to bill my insurance for most of our screening and that helped with the overall cost associated with fertility treatment...There are five doctors in the clinic and while you will have a primary you may see any or all of them in the course of treatment. From my experience they are all exceptional practitioners and take pride in helping have over 14,000 babies born.
How was your experience with Teresa Erb at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine?
Dr. Erb was able to tailor our treatment to my specific needs. She made sure that we were confident with the course that we were taking. She was always sure to explain things without being to clinical. She made me feel like I was in control of my infertility treatment and offered us options. She was very thorough and has performed all of my ultrasounds, and my HSG.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Teresa Erb at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine?
Be prepared to have a large battery of tests run first before you begin treatment. She is very thorough and does not like to start until all of your results have come in to give a clearer picture of what you are up against. She ordered a full panel of blood work, recommended a genetic screening, HSG, and full semen analysis before we began any medication or fertility treatment. This can cause the process to take longer to start but does avoid set backs while under treatment.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Teresa Erb at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine?
Dr. Erb took the time to explain things to myself and my husband. She was sure to always use my preferred name was thorough and always had a kind smile. She was encouraging and has let me sit in her office and cry on more than one occasion. She is always sure to explain things to us in ways that we can understand and answers all of our questions thoroughly and honestly.

We initially had thorough work up and testing with labs, HSG, and even MRI. After initial lack is success with IUI, she understood and supported our desire to move onto IVF. After our early loss, she gave us the option to transfer our last healthy embryo or complete a simulated transfer cycle to ensure we weren’t missing any possible contributing factors to our miscarriage.

Both my husband and I enjoyed working with Dr. Erb [at Reproductive Health Specialists]. She was present at all of my embryo transfers and always called immediately to follow-up after each procedure. We did not end up getting pregnant at RHS, but I did feel that Dr. Erb was a knowledgeable and trustworthy physician to work with. We ultimately did decide to move onto a larger out-of-state clinic that had more treatment options.

Dr. Erb will transfer two embryos if the circumstances would call for it, but prefers to transfer single embryos...spent time talking with my husband and I, heard our concerns and adjusted accordingly...We really like Dr. Erb. She’s always very nice and happy and seems knowledgeable and up to date. She spent time explaining our risks while giving us the space to make our own decisions. I would say her only downfall is maybe that she is a quick talker and tends to explain things from a very technical standpoint which can sometimes be confusing for someone without a medical degree.
They [the nurses at FIRM] were extremely caring and compassionate...We’ve really enjoyed our experience so far. Good communication, financially reasonable, caring staff. The only negative at the moment was a relatively limited amount of donated embryos to choose from...We did a FET with donor embryos. 2 or so weeks BCP, Estrace protocol followed by PIO and then transfer. Currently in TWW.

Dr. Erb is lukewarm in her bedside manner...Very difficult to read...At this point the plan is to do a stereotypical frozen embryo transfer with just the regular medication‘s such as estrogen and progesterone...wish she were more open to the thought of doing the auto immune protocol for me.
we only have had the one visit [to Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine]. Overall, the clinic is clean. The appointment was timely...you need to follow up as the patient as they seem to get busy and things seem to get forgotten and you can’t expect them to call you with the information necessarily.
How was your experience with Teresa Erb at Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine?
Dr. Erb came highly recommended to us by colleagues as well as fertility IQ I’m unsure if her ratings actually reveal her true success rates. my previous physician had done a auto immune protocol which led to our only live birth and Dr. Erb stated that she was not even going to entertain the thought of performing Those treatments stating that they’re not proven and not necessary. That sort of bothered me considering if it may be something that I really would like I would like my doctor to be on board even if they don’t necessarily feel like it works unless they have absolute evidence of it not working. We plan on pursuing treatment with her still
