[Dr. Hickman] never said my name, he kept saying women my age, women my age should expect this or that. He said the “best practice” for women my age…He never said what should I do, he never took my previous history into account, he would answer every question of mine with “women your age…(btw is 34)...I took letrozole from day 5 to 9 of my cycle, then an ultrasound and the trigger shot. Then iui, then they send me home to test (at home) after 14 days
The clinic [at CCRM Houston] is fine, is clean. The front desk people are nice and polite. The ultrasound techs are awful!! Just awful, I had to take my daughter to my first ultrasound because couldn’t find daycare (also I asked my nurse and she said yes) but the ultrasound lady got really mad and was very rude to my daughter...Also the finance lady on that first appointment was awful...My nurse is great! She really is, she answers all my questions and helps me every time. She is the best!
How was your experience with Timothy Hickman at CCRM Houston/Houston IVF?
Doctor Hickman explained to me a lot of what women my age should expect, or should do, he explained why women my after so many tries would ñ almost never pregnant naturally. He never said what should I do, he never took my previous history into account, he would answer every question of mine with “women your age…(btw is 34)”, he never said anything concrete about me, just statistics.

Also the finance lady on that first appointment was awful, she kept asking me question that meant a nothing for me at the moment and kept insisting, also I felt like she didn’t want to deal with my insurance so she kept telling me that I need to do iui which meant that another finance lady would help me and not her, so it was super awful.

We have insurance so it’s been like any other clinic with insurance, although it feels like they don’t like to deal with insurance, and rather you self pay
He [Dr. Hickman] took the time to go over all our questions and we never felt rushed during our appointments. He showed immense compassion when we received hard news, and rejoiced with us when we received good news. He has excellent bedside manner and made me feel comfortable every step of the way...he recommended transferring two embryos the first time we did IVF...
The nurses [at CCRM Houston] I had were amazing. They took a lot of time out to explain the scheduling/calendar and how to administer each of the medications. I remember feeling overwhelmed by the whole process (ordering the meds, insurance, self-administering the medications, prepping the meds, etc..), but they did a good job explaining each step. If I had a question, I would call my nurse and I was impressed that they would get back to me sooner than I expected...

I was so happy with my experience with Dr. Hickman! He was incredibly professional in all our interactions, not to mention, extremely knowledgeable about the entire process and the steps we needed to take for our specific situation. It has been a while and I can't remember all the details, but to the best of my memory, I was diagnosed with PCOS and we were going to go the clomid route. But we received my spouse's labwork and realized that he had fertility issues as well. This led us to pursue the IVF (ICSI) route. I was put on metformin along with the other fertility meds. This resulted in a total of 17 eggs, 10 embryos, 7 embryos that grew to day 3, and 4 embryos that grew to day 5.
He transferred 2 embryos and both of them took, resulting in a twin pregnancy and births. Years later, we did a frozen embryo transfer. We transferred two embryos, and one of them took, resulting in a pregnancy and birth.

Describe your experience with CCRM Houston/Houston IVF.
The strength of the clinic was that the staff is friendly, the facilities were clean and inviting, and they ran on-schedule. They had us meet with someone from their financial dept that went over the costs of the treatment so that we knew exactly how much it would be on our end. I can't think of anything at the moment that I would say as a weakness.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Timothy Hickman at CCRM Houston/Houston IVF.
Honestly, I don't remember. When we did IVF, it wasn't covered under insurance so it was all out of pocket costs. When we did our FET, we had good insurance coverage.
Describe Timothy Hickman's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at CCRM Houston/Houston IVF.
Not sure, but I think he recommended transferring two embryos the first time we did IVF. And personally, I was very on board with that. All I remember was that he explained his reasoning very clearly and I felt sufficiently educated on the tradeoffs and outcomes on transferring one vs two embryos for our situation.
[Dr. Timothy Hickman] became very rude and agitated when we asked questions about transferring multiple embryos. He refused to answer questions on this topic...has the worst bedside manner I’ve ever encountered...His explanation was simply that I was “over 30.” Even though he initially acted like this was not an issue. He took no time to help us understand our results or how my endometriosis could have impacted those results. While still under his care we went to another doctor to have her explain why she thought we would have gotten poorer than average results. It was extremely disappointing, as we stuck with Hickman despite his rudeness because we thought he would have been knowledgeable based on his background. Hickman was not knowledgeable in our corcimstances, not compassionate, and is one of the worst doctors I have ever encountered.
our nurse forgot to order some of our retrieval medication [at CCRM Houston]...I think the sole strength of this clinic is the ease of scheduling monitoring appointments. Basically every other aspect of our experience at CCRM was extremely difficult. They will ignore you and refuse to answer questions. We were shocked that they were so unprofessional...I feel like any average doctor could would have recommended the same [protocol], with the exception of embryo testing.
How was your experience with Timothy Hickman at CCRM Houston/Houston IVF?
If you are over thirty, avoid Hickman at all costs. If you want a compassionate doctor with your best interests in mind, avoid Hickman at all costs. Hickman refused to answer questions and was rude during our first appointment. Hickman was callous and rude when we were disappointed with the number of normal embryos we got after testing (not to mention that we were both under 35, do testing typically isn’t even recommended). His explanation was simply that I was “over 30.” Even though he initially acted like this was not an issue. He took no time to help us understand our results or how my endometriosis could have impacted those results. While still under his care we went to another doctor to have her explain why she thought we would have gotten poorer than average results. What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Timothy Hickman at CCRM Houston/Houston IVF?
Go elsewhere. There are numerous compassionate doctors in the Houston area who are also better from a clinical standpoint. There is no need to suffer through such a difficult medical condition with someone completely lacking compassion.

As previously stated, our nurse forgot to order some of our retrieval medication.
Dr. Hickman seemed to be very knowledgeable and sensitive at the same time. He explained our options without imposing an specific course of treatment. He also detailed his rationale for each treatment option and let us free to decide which and when. I feel pretty confident I found the right doctor for me and may return if needed in the future.
The clinic is a peaceful environment. It seems to be a lack of coordination regarding lab results and it's a little complicated to access your your information (currently there are 2 portals, not very clear or integrated). Staff has been partially helpful with orientation, and financial office is a mess. ... For the IVF I had a different nurse, much nicer. She was a great communicator, even though she seemed a bit disorganized at times. In my first round, I was very overwhelmed by the medication administration and feel that even though she tried to explain them in a simple way, it was all gibberish for me and I did not feel she could get how hard that was. At that time, it made me feel they did not care about me as a person, only my bloodwork numbers.

Before consulting Dr. Hickman I had many biases against using reproductive assisted technology and had experienced patronizing behavior from other medical doctors which I disliked. Dr. Hickman treated us with respect and explained his hypothesis in clear terms, in a humble manner and with regard for our concerns.
Describe the protocols Timothy Hickman used in your cycles at CCRM Houston/Houston IVF and their degree of success.
Because ours was a case of "unexplained infertility", Dr. Hickman strategy was to begin from the less invasive procedures and gradually move towards the more complex procedures. Both me and my husband have been tested and already identified a slight but important alteration in my thyroid which I already begun treating. After assuring that eggs, sperm, fallopian tubes and uterine cavity are fine, next step was a cycle of Clomid and IUI. We also chose to do a genetic screening which was really helpful to decide that trying IUI was still a viable option. However, our first IUI failed and based on lower odds of success - specially because of the recently diagnosed endometriosis, Dr. Hickman suggested we should go change strategies and try IVF. It took us some time to decide and trust him in this journey. The first stage was the hardest, understanding and managing the medication was emotionally overwhelming. Thankfully, my body responded well and by retrieval we've got 18 eggs. About 16 fertilized and 8 survived the first week to become embryos. From the 8 embryos, 4 were correct, 1 uncertain and 3 incorrect. Great results paid off the, so far, most terrifying thing I've ever faced. As recommended by Dr. Hickman, we opted for a frozen embryo transfer and postponed the transfer to 3 months after we returned from a trip to South America (CDC recommended due to Zika threats at the time). The pause allowed my body to recover well. As I prepared to the transfer, my body responded well again to the medication. Our first transfer was done with one single embryo, the one that looked the strongest and with more chances of success. Dr. Hickman was very confident and said we had a 70% chances of success. Unfortunately, the transfer resulted in a chemical pregnancy. Dr. Hickman did not know exactly what went wrong but explained that IVF is never guaranteed, and everything indeed looked promising. He also encouraged us to take our time and if we decided to try again, he still believed in the same odds as we had other strong embryos available. I was heartbroken and needed a couple months to process the experience and gather courage and hope to try again. We planned the dates carefully to make sure we would be relaxed and calm during the 6 weeks prep to transfer... it paid off! For this second attempt at transfer, Dr. Hickman did not change any protocol but I changed pharmacies, just in case, and increased my self-care. Knowing what to expect was very reassuring and gave me strength this time around. Our second transfer developed into a healthy pregnancy, now on its course. Dr. Hickman always kept his bedside manners and even though our contact was always brief, he seemed genuinely interested in helping us achieve our desired pregnancy.
For those who are wondering why they can't get pregnant and have not found any answer yet, I highly recommend talking to him.
Describe your experience with your nurse at CCRM Houston/Houston IVF. (Assigned nurse: Holy Davis)
I had one nurse assigned for the IUI. She seemed knowledgeable but was always in a rush, acting with less warmth that I would like. I did a lot of research on my own, discovered techniques to apply injections less painfully and other things I felt they should have offered me since they know about them more than I do and the treatment is very expensive! Nevertheless, everything she said would happen regarding dosage and bloodwork happened exactly as she said, so I had to acknowledge that. On my second attempt, I feel my nurse and I were already in better terms. We already knew each other (the clinic is so busy that I understand they can't be close to everyone), I felt more confident about administering the medication, and fundamentally, trusted her. She always returned my calls and explained every single question with patience. I definitely appreciate her.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Timothy Hickman at CCRM Houston/Houston IVF.
The initial visit, lab tests, medication I needed for thyroid and genetic counseling, with our insurance, have been under $1,000. Our insurance however does not cover much more than diagnosis. For Clomid and one cycle of IUI it was about $2,000. For the IVF including freezing embryos for a year, one transfer, and medication it was about $ 30,000. Second transfer was about $5-6,000 - not sure anymore.
Describe Timothy Hickman's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at CCRM Houston/Houston IVF.
We've done single embryo transfer because of my good chances of getting pregnant on the first attempts. Even though my first transfer failed and let me wondering if it was the best decision, I still agree that it was the best approach for my family at this moment.

Neither my husband or I could ever see our bloodwork results online. We also had lots of trouble getting a descriptive receipt to justify our spends on the HSA card. Non-returned calls or e-mails. Receptionist at checkout not very helpful or friendly - in contrast with medical staff.
I never felt rushed. Even one time I told Dr. Hickman in the hallway "I know you are so busy, but what do you think about _______" and he responded so kindly, looked me in the eye, and said to not ever feel like I can't ask him questions or like he is rushed.... Dr. Hickman was always calm and made me feel like I was in the best hands possible. He took time to answer my questions and was just so friendly and caring. My journey started in 2014 and after 3 IUIs, I became pregnant on the 3rd try, leading to a healthy baby boy.
This clinic [CCRM Houston] itself is gorgeous. You have views of i-10 and it is incredibly clean and welcoming. It was always easy to schedule appointments and to go in same day or next day. They are open 365 days a year (or maybe 364), so there is no need to worry about your IUI day landing on a weekend. They were even open every day during hurricane Harvey, when much of the city was closed down.... Sarah was always quick to call me back (I usually had to wait less than an hour to hear from her) and I called her A LOT.

My journey started in 2014 and after 3 IUIs, I became pregnant on the 3rd try, leading to a healthy baby boy. We decided to try again in 2017 and found out I had borderline underactive thyroid, so he prescribed Synthroid. I got pregnant my first IUI but miscarried at 8 weeks. During the miscarriage, I had to see Dr. Hickman a lot and he never made me feel rushed and he remained positive but sympathetic at the same time.

For my first time around, the plan was 3 iuis with Clomid and ovidrel and then we would reconvene after and discuss the next step (possibly ivf). I got pregnant on the 3rd IUI.
For my next pregnancy, blood work showed that I had high TSH so I was put on Synthroid. Since I had a successful IUI last time, Dr. Hickman was confident it would work again. I got pregnant my very first IUI with clomid and ovidrel, but miscarried. Now I am waiting a couple of cycles by my own personal choice to start trying again.

Although Sarah was my primary nurse, I can say that every single person I worked with left a lasting positive impact. Sarah was always quick to call me back (I usually had to wait less than an hour to hear from her) and I called her A LOT. She never made me feel bad or silly for my questions, but instead left me feeling validated and in good hands.
When I miscarried, I worked a lot with another nurse. I wish I remembered her name. She was so, so caring and warm. It brings tears to my eyes thinking about her kindness and empathy.

How was your experience with Timothy Hickman at CCRM Houston/Houston IVF?
Dr. Hickman was compassionate from the beginning, while maintaining the professionalism necessary to allow us to be comfortable discussing intimate and potentially awkward matters. He explained everything and was very clear about our odds. He used a combination of tried and true statistical information, applied expertise and customization to our particular circumstances. When explaining things, he often turned his screen around so that we could understand everything and see what he was seeing. Dr. Hickman's experience and manner gained my trust and I knew that he truly cared and wanted to help us have a child. He has truly devoted his life to bringing children to those who desperately want them. He works early Sunday mornings for transfers and nothing will stop him from being there - not even the hurricanes and storms that would keep other professionals away.
Dr. Hickman's bedside manner was a comforting combination of friendly and focused. He knew how to hold sufficiently distracting conversation to keep my mind off of uncomfortable procedures. One of the things I loved most about Dr. Hickman is that he is considered and deliberate. When reviewing my scans to determine when to initiate the transfer, I remembering him pausing to consider my results and make sure that he recommended the best course of action. On another occasion, he changed course and decided to thaw the lower-quality egg I had frozen from a prior retrieval to add to my next transfer and increase my chance of conceiving (it worked!). He worked without ego - the change of course was the right thing to do and even though he did not recommend it at first, after further consideration he decided to recommend that. He's a true professional who considers each individual situation to achieve the best results.
When my child was born, he had to go straight to the NICU, which was very distressing for us. Dr. Hickman was in the neighboring tower and when he learned that we were in the NICU, he visited and spoke to us about our son's condition. He was direct in addressing our expectations that he might go home within 24 hours but he also reassured us about the long-term. He goes above and beyond because helping families conceive is his life's work. He is dedicated, kind and incredibly experienced and knowledgeable.

He [Dr. Hickman] was caring during consultation. During treatments he barely even looked at me, no time to ask him questions. After negative pregnancy test during follow up, he made me feel like it was all my fault and had poor quality eggs....He needs to show more compassion, not just throw his hands in the air when it didn’t work or tell us that egg donors and adoption are also ways to have s family. We have no children, we wanted to experience childbirth. He had no advice on improving egg quality, just said that it doesn’t work.
Desk staff [IVF Houston] is rude, never wanted to give receipts, list my payment when we paid for anesthesia in cash! Needs improvement all around! They do have a financial consultant whom was awesome. She let me know if employers that offer insurance coverage that covers IVF! She was very transparent....I feel like something occurred in lab. Egg retrievel was on Friday, weekend lab was ran by a skeleton crew. Honestly, we do feel something went wrong. Our transfer days were off, and say of transfer, they did another patient before me that arrived way after I did

I feel like something occurred in lab. Egg retrievel was on Friday, weekend lab was ran by a skeleton crew. Honestly, we do feel something went wrong. Our transfer days were off, and say of transfer, they did another patient before me that arrived way after I did. You could tell the tone of workers and atmosphere was as if something wrong was happening. After transfer, Dr. Hickman got up and said, Well, let’s hope it works, and walked out.
He’s incredibly personable and calm. He is able to put fears at ease and is very willing to listen and understand. We had many questions going into the procedures, and he was always willing to talk with us about any questions we had. He was always very thorough in his explanations.... this past frozen transfer I remember that he was very particular that we use endometrum suppositories
Their office [CCRM Houston] is beautifully located- on the top floor of a building that overlooks Houston. The waiting room is spacious and peaceful. I never had to wait more than five minutes. It is hard to remember specifics from my first cycle... but this past frozen transfer I remember that he was very particular that we use endometrum suppositories instead of other progesterone supplements. Failed to call in prescriptions to pharmacy
Describe the specific things that went wrong at CCRM Houston/Houston IVF.
Once I had a small struggle getting a hold of a nurse to call in a prescription that I was out of.
He [Dr. Timothy Hickman] performed lots of tests and did ultimately treat one issue of mine (small tumor pressing on my pituitary gland) but apparently misdiagnosed the quality of my husband's sperm and told us we wouldn't get pregnant without IVF. We left his practice after getting a second opinion on the sperm, concentrated on my cycle times and got pregnant on our own.
In the end, I felt pressured to pay for IVF [at Houston IVF/CCRM Houston] but when getting a second opinion about my husband's sperm, we found out there was nothing wrong with it and we ended up getting pregnant on our own even though the doctor said we never would.... What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Timothy Hickman at CCRM Houston/Houston IVF?
If you are in a super hurry to get pregnant and want to pay for IVF, then he might be okay. But if you are patient and just want to see if you can treat a possible small issue before getting pregnant on your own, then find another doctor.

Describe the protocols Timothy Hickman used in your cycles at CCRM Houston/Houston IVF and their degree of success.
We did a lot of tests and he found 2 problems. He treated me with bromocriptine to shrink my pituitary because I had a small tumor on it. Then he diagnosed my husband with "bad sperm" and then told us we couldn't get pregnant because of this and wanted to schedule IVF. We got a second opinion about the sperm which ended up being completely normal and ended up getting pregnant without the IVF.

I guess the only issue I have with the clinic is the misdiagnosis of my husband's sperm which could've led to us spending a whole lot of money for nothing. So, I don't trust this doctor or the clinic.

Again, we had a misdiagnosis of my husband's sperm which was confirmed by getting a second opinion which led us to leave the clinic.
He is compassionately matter-of-fact, and what I mean is that he delicately tells you the truth. I was a patient for a year doing IUIs and during that time I didn't really see him (except for the initial consultation) because his nurses perform all of the procedures. I ended up doing IVF and that's really when I felt like he was present.
The whole clinic is so well run... As an IVF patient I was assigned my own nurse who handled all of my communication with their office and was present for all of my appointments and procedures. She returned all of my phone calls promptly and answered all of my questions.
How was your experience with Timothy Hickman at CCRM Houston/Houston IVF?
I had the best experience as Dr. Hickman's patient! His office is so prompt and efficient. The whole clinic is so well run. Dr. Hickman was incredibly professional. He had to perform a minor surgical procedure on me before we could proceed with IVF, and he was just wonderful. He did a fantastic job, but he also made my family and me feel like he cared. He took extra time with them going over my surgery and explaining everything in detail. He was equally wonderful performing the IVF. I really believe his is sensitive to his patients (who are under extreme amounts of stress and pumped up with hormones) and I felt he was very smart. I think he takes his success rate seriously which I appreciate. Overall I never questioned that I was receiving the absolute best care and treatment. I met with him the first time and left thinking "this is the doctor for me". It has been over three years since the birth of my twins and I still think that he was the perfect choice.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Timothy Hickman at CCRM Houston/Houston IVF?
I wish I would not have waited so long to move from IUIs to IVF. I don't think that anyone at the clinic ever suggested that IUIs weren't working and that I should be considering other options. Although, it might have been discussed during the initial consultation. So, don't wait for them to contact you if you have questions or feel things aren't progressing. Call them and they will take care of you

When you have a point person in the office its like you, Dr. Hickman, and your nurse are a team doing everything possible to get you that baby.
The nurse calls you to give you your pregnancy results. My husband and I couldn't be together to take the call, so I had her leave a message for me giving me the results. The nurse was so excited on the message and so sweet; I still have the message on my phone.

She was always easy to get in contact with, and she was very encouraging.
Dr Hickman went above and beyond seeking to understand who I was, who my partner was, and what we were looking to create as a family. He made it clear to us how much he values family and went above and beyond our expectations to achieve our fertility goals...He backed all of his opinion statements with research and when he wasn't certain on something, he was candid about that as well. He never brought an "ego" to the appointment which is rare for a doctor.
CCRM Houston is organized, responsive, and works very well as a team. From the blood lab to finance to nursing to doctors, they go above and beyond. He is a exceptional leader in the field and a trustworthy expert. After having worked with 2 other fertility clinics, Dr Hickman was a breath of fresh air combining his exceptional bedside manner with his expertise in the field. Dr. Hickman was knowledgeable, empathetic, clear, caring and reputable. I do wish I would have seen him more. I only saw him during the consult and his nursing team took over from there. Dr. Hickman seems to really live what he does, and when we met with him, he was very honest and direct with us about the statistics, but it was always delivered in a kind and compassionate way...suggested we do some acupuncture along with our cycle, and it seemed to help. He also used a different protocol, since the one used in Ca. wasn’t successful.
It felt like everyone in the [CCRM Houston/Houston IVF] office was on my team! It’s such an emotional time, and going into the office and feeling the positive support from Dr. Hickman and the staff was so comforting...[nurses are] Organized, smart, compassionate, kind, funny, supportive, knowledgeable...You’re greeted with kindness and a smile. Everyone works together to get all the details set and ready for your personal treatment plan. Their goal is to achieve your dream of conceiving, and delivering a baby.
How was your experience with Timothy Hickman at CCRM Houston/Houston IVF?
Dr. Hickman was the second doctor we saw when trying to start our family. After 3 failed IVF cycles in California with a different doctor, and feeling hopeless, we decided to try a cycle with Dr. Hickman. Dr. Hickman seems to really live what he does, and when we met with him, he was very honest and direct with us about the statistics, but it was always delivered in a kind and compassionate way. What he was telling us wasn't a surprise, I was 39 years old. My husband is an engineer, so he likes getting all the numbers, and I’m the emotional one. Since we had such lousy luck with our previous IVF cycles, Dr. Hickman suggested we do some acupuncture along with our cycle, and it seemed to help. He also used a different protocol, since the one used in Ca. wasn’t successful. We gave birth to a healthy baby boy and named him Timothy!! Just kidding! His name is James, and he has a little sister Charlotte that came along 8 years later conceived with a donor egg and the wonderful medical treatment and from Dr. Hickman. I know first hand how had and disappointing it can be going through fertility treatments, the hope and dreams we have and then the news of a negative pregnancy test, then you start your emotional climb for the next try, or your next step. It’s hard on you marriage. I really feel like Dr.Hickman loves what he does, and his office and staff are a reflection of that.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Timothy Hickman at CCRM Houston/Houston IVF?
You need to be strong, and stick with it, and know that Dr. Hickman has your best interest at heart.

Describe Timothy Hickman's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at CCRM Houston/Houston IVF.
With our first cycle with my eggs, we transferred all our embryos (3) to increase chances of pregnancy. With our donor cycle we wanted a single pregnancy, so Dr. Hickman suggested to transfer (1) embryo, and it worked!
Dr. Hickman did explain everything well before beginning ivf. After a failed cycle he would always call me himself and answer every single question I had. I felt he was a great doctor and trusted him completely...We used the antagonist protocol and I always used lupron with every cycle. I would trigger with 10,000 units of hgh. I would always react decently...I did feel taken care of.
I think [IVF at CCRM Houston] was close to 35 thousand for two cycles. I thought the clinic was great. Your doctor isn't always the one who performs the retrieval or transfer, which I didn't know going in, sometimes its another RE on site. But all of them were wonderful...All monitoring appointments were scheduled before 8am and there were several nurses working to get you back to do bloodwork while the doctors were in and out doing ultrasounds. Things always moved very fast in the mornings.

If was vey expensive, I think it was close to 35 thousand for two cycles. Thanks to several loans, our life savings and my grandmother who helped us pay for everything. Everything was included in the price except for the anesthesia. Acupuncture was also separate.

My husband and I didn't get to see Dr. Hickman [at Houston IVF} much. In fact, we only saw him once in preparation for our IUI. The IUI wasn't even performed by him. It was performed by a nurse. I think that's normal, but someone should've informed us of this prior to the procedure. When my husband and I decided to go to a different clinic for our IVF, I requested that my records be sent to the new clinic. It took over a month to get them sent, and I had to make several phone calls.

Dr. Hickman was AMAZING!!! He took the time, anytime, including at night after he got off work, to answer my questions. He explained everything to me and seemed to even enjoy the fact I was asking questions. A different doctor I went to first actually blamed me for my infertility. He told me that my past was my past and the goal now was to get me pregnant, which he did. I can't recommend him enough.

My nurse went on vacation and I am a "different" patient for IUI. My issues are more like those that lead to IVF. My nurse had told me to start Crinone after the IUI (I had also done this twice previously). The day of my IUI, the nurse forgot to tell me to start the Crinone. I called to ask and they cleared it up.
My husband asks A LOT of questions and Dr Hickman answered them all thoroughly and patiently. It’s clear he’s an expert in the field/passionate about what he does, and we can see why people travel to see him. We both felt he was very honest in his treatment recommendations and not trying to push expensive treatments at us. He was very easy to talk with.

Honest and forthright. He [Dr. Timothy Hickman] dedicated a lot of time explaining me well my not so common sindrome. My case was super wired and he was able to manage it as it was something common. Each time I will need more explanation he will contact his nurse and give me a call to explain well..... Strenghts: - smart - patience - have lots of knowledge - always know the last technologies and ways of doing procedures - take his time explaining -gives hope - tell the truth Weakness: - At some point of the Ivf there was a confusion because my anatomy is different from the rest. My ovaries where much up than usual ( difficult to know to every single doctor). We learn that in my sindrome case is better to do some other tests before ivf like Testosterone. But this was not dr fault. This was a one in a million cases. Think I was his jumber 1 case like this. But he overcome ir perfectly and now I have one baby with me. No real weakness.
[CCRM Houston is] Clean, efficient, effective, easy process, easy admission , nice clean flow since you enter and you leave. Super hiper well organized. Impressive for a lot of people that I have recomend this doctor and they went..... Nurse staff in the physical location amazing!! But the nurses in charge of patiences dont know wht but have left the mayority hat were working with me the last year and now is difficult to communicate with rhem because all of them are gone. Maybe i just need to go again physical and claim for a new new nurse. Have not been there since the last transfer . 1 year ago.

Describe Timothy Hickman's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at CCRM Houston/Houston IVF.
Multiple is much better. You always have better probabilities to have just ONE if you put two than having 2. And when you put just one your pribabilities decreese to less than 30% of success. If you put 2 I think it goes up to 45-50%.
And always better to do pgs. This process is so tought , long and pricey that is important to know if your embrios are 100% healthy.
[Dr. Timothy Hickman] Well communicator, super knowledgeable, super supportive, always communicate with us as soon as he had more information, he explained things so carefully with very good examples, videos...He was formal but at the same time very personal with the relationship he had with my husband and I...We did multiple embryo transfer and on both opportunities we got one embryo to grow
Strengths [of CCRM Houston/Houston IVF] — on top of follow ups, professional, understanding, easy and small clinic so all was on same floor. Weaknesses— take more time than expected to be seen , a lot of people at waiting room so so no privacy...Kind , empathetic, patience...We did multiple embryo transfer and on both opportunities we got one embryo to grow

He was on top of everything. Doing follow ups in a very personal way. Couple times he call my husband for questions and answers. He is always clear with us. We had a challenging egg retrieval but it ended positive. Thanks to his team and dr Hickman i was able to become a mother of 2

How was your experience with Timothy Hickman at CCRM Houston/Houston IVF?
I was very pleased with my results. I ended up freezing more eggs than I though I would for my age (33). Dr. Hickman carefully monitored my response to the medication for egg freezing, and that was a key reason behind my results. The nurse I worked with was great as well—she was very quick to respond to my questions and calls. I would recommend Dr. Hickman and his team to anyone.
