Dr Palta has a personality you will either love or hate - she is very direct and upfront and won't beat around the bush, yet she is also very compassionate when there is not so great news to be delivered...She was open to what I wanted to do, she did not try to influence my decision unless I asked for her opinion...There is a more flexibility at her practice and and she has accommodated me many times
[the NY Fertility] clinic is a one woman show and run very differently than a larger clinic. You do the first steps of the process with her and then work with a larger clinic for the retrieval, testing etc. It works great as a place to get monitoring done as long as they can get the bloodwork over to the clinic in a timely fashion...You have to stay on top of everything, she is a one person show running a busy practice on her own with an army of helpers
How was your experience with Vidya Palta at New York Fertility?
Dr Palta has a personality you will either love or hate - she is very direct and upfront and won't beat around the bush, yet she is also very compassionate when there is not so great news to be delivered (such as in my case). She is also a bit of a data nerd and delivers her opinions based on recent data and recites studies from the top of her head, which I appreciated. She went out of her way several times to help me prepare for big decisions that had financial repercussions (such as using clinics that had labs that my insurance covered) and contacting the right people to make sure I got in to the right places, etc. I felt that she was a good "general counsel" for some of the considerations I didn't know about being new to the IVF process and that was very helpful.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Vidya Palta at New York Fertility?
You have to stay on top of everything, she is a one person show running a busy practice on her own with an army of helpers, and very different than working with a large clinic that is a well oiled machine that has different people handling different aspects of the practice.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Vidya Palta at New York Fertility?
Dr Palta truly cares about her patients - she spends a lot more time with you than a regular doctor would. It's a very small practice and she runs the show and it's far from a well oiled machine but she makes it all work somehow. There is a more flexibility at her practice and and she has accommodated me many times, in ways a larger clinic would or could not when I have asked her to consider things I have done research on or read about.
Describe the protocols Vidya Palta used in your cycles at New York Fertility and their degree of success.
Gonal 900 units (5) - Started at 225, then 150
Menopur (30 valves)
Leuprolide kit (1)

Novorel HCG (2 valves) 5000U
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at New York Fertility.
Dr Palta pretty much runs the show and her nurses do what she asks, you never get the same person as she has an army assisting her

She [Dr. Palta] criticized my lifestyle and felt like she blamed me for not being able to conceive and I will never forget that about her that’s why I would never recommend another women to get hurt the way I did.... Did not feel treated with care during my hard times trying to conceive. Felt as if it was all for money. Did not make me feel comfortable at all. I regret having that experience because it left me sad even 4 years later and still no pregnancy. I just remember always feeling sad and depressed leaving the office every time.
I won’t ever forget one staff member [at NY Reproductive] was she tried to take blood out of my upper outer arm rather than a vein. I was just shocked at how they didn’t know what they were doing. Too many negative instances I had during my 6 months of fertility treatment.... There were no strengths. I wouldn’t ever go back even if I had an option to retry those same treatments for free I would not go back. If a patient was planning to go there I would let them know to not even waste their time and energy and especially their pain and money

If you don’t care about a doctor treating you with care and feeling positive and giving you that quality time than she will be right for you. She criticized my lifestyle and felt like she blamed me for not being able to conceive and I will never forget that about her that’s why I would never recommend another women to get hurt the way I did.

I felt like i was being taken more for my money rather than helping me get pregnant. No positivity towards achieving pregnancy but criticizing me rather than helping me.
Describe the protocols Vidya Palta used in your cycles at New York Reproductive and their degree of success.
I remember taking clomid as well as Gino F 75 units for a few days As well as menopure once during the week. I Also took an ovulation shot each cycle. I would head in for a week straight to take my bloodwork. It was very draining.

Describe Vidya Palta's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at New York Reproductive.
I haven’t gone that far into fertility treatment yet. After my experience with my old fertility doctor I have always been sad about not conceiving with her help that I am finally willing to try another doctor.

She [Dr. Vidya Palta] was warm, caring, kind , considerate and the only Dr after seeing 2 of the supposed best Doctors in Ny she was the only one to take the time to really evaluate me and my husband. She diagnosed every issue...This woman really is the baby whisperer. You're not just money and a patient to her. That is what makes her so special...She is always there day or night even though she has a family of her own she will never leave you wondering.
They [New York Reproductive] could have been a little more helpful and explained things better being it is such a nerve racking time but once your Doctor gets there that all changes. Overall they were good! They helped in everyway they could, updated family in the waiting room. Held your hand in the OR room if you were nervous to try to keep you calm...[nursing staff] followed my whole process, listened to my concerns, took my frantic phone calls or my annoying ones waiting on results and never ever seemed bothered in their tone. Very welcoming!

SHE'S A MIRACLE WORKER! She is thorough, straight forward. She never leaves you wondering or guessing. She is always there day or night even though she has a family of her own she will never leave you wondering.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Vidya Palta at New York Reproductive?
Use her, trust her. It's not an over night process but trust her medical advice and listen to her, the process is long. The procedure can be painful but she always gets you, your miracle!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Vidya Palta at New York Reproductive?
She was warm, caring, kind , considerate and the only Dr after seeing 2 of the supposed best Doctors in Ny she was the only one to take the time to really evaluate me and my husband. She diagnosed every issue. She knew IUi was not going to work but the insurance company made her do one round and she didn't want to give me that news so she sat me down prior and told me this procedure with all of my fertility complications and weight it may not work to please not lose hope or give up. Insurance makes you do a round of IUI first but she fought for me and got them to approve IVF the second round so I didn't have to endure more heart ache. She covered every test and base possible to make sure that I was safe and that my embryos were safe. She walked me through every procedure and step and was there the whole time. There was not a time I didn't see her unless it was for simple blood work and her staff was friendly and amazing. My retrieval came. I was anxious she gave me something to calm me down. Unfortunately my 1st round of IVF was failed ( I do believe that was my own fault due to my nerves and anxiety). She also did recommend that frozen embryos have a higher rating of producing then freshly retrieved. When we did our second round a month later. She held my hand and said to me "I'm gonna make you a mom today " AND SHE DID! The wait time is 2 weeks she took a blood panel from me on day 5 and on day 6 she called me to tell me that I did it, we were pregnant with TWINS!!!! She made my wish and dream come true, she even cried delivering me the news. I had a scare about 5 weeks into my pregnancy and she was on a much needed vacation with her family in India, not only did she take my call at 2 am ( her time) but she managed to have a colleague see me immediately, turns out it was normal what I was experiencing, she checked in on me every day on her vacation. Sadly my daughter suffered severe complications and did not make it passed 28 weeks, my son made it to term and was as healthy as can be. He's 8.5 years old now and we are ready to go again and there is nobody that I trust more then her to give me my next baby.
People that are having a hard time don't lose faith or give up because she never gives up on you until all and I mean her options and then some are exhausted. It's an emotional hard rollercoaster but she is with you every step of the way. This woman really is the baby whisperer. You're not just money and a patient to her. That is what makes her so special. I hope at 39 I can still do this but I trust her immensely. I have a miracle because of her faith and never giving up even when I wanted to.

Describe Vidya Palta's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at New York Reproductive.
She will always tell you no more then 2 at a time and will always use a strong class embryo. She will always say I don't want to over stimulate your uterus and for us to have to start again. She's so honest and caring!

Dr. Palta is a character, she loves what she does and has her hands in every decision. She also helps when she can. We ran out of insurance coverage and she helped us get drugs with discounts. She also would call insurance or the pharmacy for us to help get what we needed...got to know me and my story very well. She always talked to me about my concerns and allowed me to make the decisions.
[New York Fertility] staff is young and still learning. There were always mistakes made, but usually they were minor...Dr. Palta got to know me and my story very well. She always talked to me about my concerns and allowed me to make the decisions...Dr. Palta is amazing and I would recommend her to anyone. She truly cares and everything is run by her...also extremely caring but she is a personality and isn't for everyone. But I adore her and send her pictures of my son.

Beware that her staff is young and does not always know what they are doing.

Dr. Palta got to know me and my story very well. She always talked to me about my concerns and allowed me to make the decisions.
Describe the protocols Vidya Palta used in your cycles at New York Fertility and their degree of success.
We never did the same thing twice. In the four years that I was under her care we tried everything. Lots of IUIs, and natural cycles between the IVF. We didn't waste any cycles, we were always trying something. I tried every possible combo of drugs imaginable. What finally worked was a transfer protocol from a reproductive immunologist, Dr. Thornton. He worked closely with Dr. Palta and it took 342 injections from transfer to live birth, it worked.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at New York Fertility.
She mostly hires college students and not actual nurses. They are young and eager to learn, most want to work in the medical field. But while they want to learn, they are still learning and are often not quite up to the tasks at hand.
Describe your experience with New York Fertility.
Dr. Palta is amazing and I would recommend her to anyone. She truly cares and everything is run by her. However, her staff is young and need to be checked on and you need to be on top of them. Dr. Palta is also extremely caring but she is a personality and isn't for everyone. But I adore her and send her pictures of my son.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Vidya Palta at New York Fertility.
She charged me co-pays for most of my care, so that was based on my insurance. She works with other doctors for the actual egg retrieval's and transfers, but the costs were reasonable.
Describe Vidya Palta's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at New York Fertility.
She always let me make my own choices. At first she advised a single transfer as time went on she said we could do two embryos. But I never wanted to and she never pushed.
