She [Dr. Virginia Mensah] was very detailed and explained the process from beginning to end. When I had my chemical she was very empathetic and brought on the positivity to make me keep going. She explained all of the good and the bad of IUI and IVF to make me come to an informed decision...she assured me that although it was not the result I wanted, that to look at the positive side which is "I can get pregnant" this helped me on my decision to further fertility treatment and move to the next step of IVF.
[Women & Infants Hospital]Strengths is the doctor.. she's [Dr. Mensah] a pleasure to work with. The clinics weakness is the receptionist team they are unorganized unfortunately, not professional on the phones, when I called a few times they made me feel like I was interrupting them...Some of the nurses rushed me off the phone if I had questions or answered generically. For the most part in office they are kind.

Bring a list of questions you want answered to your appointment. I did not do this and on the way home I was thinking of questions I should have asked that I did not.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Virginia Mensah at Women & Infants Hospital?
She was very empathetic and positive. When I had a chemical pregnancy she assured me that although it was not the result I wanted, that to look at the positive side which is "I can get pregnant" this helped me on my decision to further fertility treatment and move to the next step of IVF. She also provided me with references and peer groups to look into to deal with grief and also infertility peer groups through Resolve.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Women & Infants Hospital.
For one of my IUI cycles, I was never called with the results during the timeframe they told me they would call 1-5 pm. I called after hours and got their answering service and they paged a nurse to call me to tell me my pregnancy test was negative. It was a really bad day. And one instance where I had to keep calling the office so they could send in my prescription
