How was your experience with Walid Saleh at Center for Reproductive Endocrinology (formerly Sher Fertility of Texas)?
Trying to conceive was a very difficult time for me. Even though I had previously been diagnosed with endometriomas and a uterine fibroid, I hadn't had a doctor who could explain the impact of these conditions on my fertility. Dr. Saleh was the first doctor to help me understand the picture of my fertility and help me come up with a plan I felt comfortable with. And, he did so with warmth and understanding.

I really appreciate that Dr. Saleh took the time to sit down with me and my husband to explain his diagnosis and the treatment(s) he recommended. He wrote notes for us on a piece of paper as he spoke, which was so helpful for me to look back at as I processed through our options. He was equal parts warm and informative.
Describe the protocols Walid Saleh used in your cycles at Center for Reproductive Endocrinology (formerly Sher Fertility of Texas) and their degree of success.
I have advanced endometriosis, but, given the size of my endometriomas (cysts) as well as other test results, Dr. Saleh advised that we could try the more conservative approach of IUI/clomid prior to embarking on IVF. If memory serves, he recommended trying 4-6 rounds of IUI/clomid before IVF. I released one egg and did not achieve a pregnancy on my first round of IUI; however, I released two eggs and achieve a singleton pregnancy on my second round of IUI.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Center for Reproductive Endocrinology (formerly Sher Fertility of Texas).
Friendly, helpful and warm. They understood the disappointment when I had to call and schedule another round of IUI and appropriately celebrated with me in the early monitoring period of my pregnancy.

My husband and I both did initial testing at another office, and CRE's clinic was far and away a better experience for both of than the other clinic we went to.

Describe Walid Saleh's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Center for Reproductive Endocrinology (formerly Sher Fertility of Texas).
Dr. Saleh is personable, highly skilled, competent, efficient, professional, gentle, and patient. He explained everything about the process as we went along and was great with answering my questions. He even answered questions via email between appointments and in a timely manner! I most appreciated his gentle approach when I experienced pain during procedures. He was consistent with this and patient with me trying to work through the pain. He was thorough, straight forward about my diagnoses and recommendations, and efficient.
CRE is excellent with communication, professionalism, promptness, and warm bedside manner. My experience with each staff from billing, nursing, and doctor was thorough, competent, and patient. Working with them made the process much much easier than if I was going anywhere else. I'd highly recommend them...My nurse was Lisa and she was incredibly helpful, thorough, and responsive throughout my process. She always got back to me quickly via email about my questions and discussed concerns over the phone when I had them. She also helped when we accidentally spilled the trigger shot medication and needed a replacement the next morning.

Describe the protocols Walid Saleh used in your cycles at Center for Reproductive Endocrinology (formerly Sher Fertility of Texas) and their degree of success.
We did an HSG scan, NK cell testing, full IVF procedure including egg retrieval, freezing remaining embryos, and a fresh transfer. The rationale was that I have diminished ovarian reserve, endometriosis on my tubes, and abnormal placement of my tubes meaning IVF was the best recommendation for my situation. We did the HSG scan to find this information about. NK cell testing was done due to the endometriosis diagnosis.

Approximately $18,500 for total IVF process. $13,000 for egg retrieval and approximately $5k for medications. $500 for anesthesia for egg retrieval. We had additional testing needs (NK cell testing) so this was another $450 or so plus those treatment costs.
Describe Walid Saleh's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Center for Reproductive Endocrinology (formerly Sher Fertility of Texas).
Dr. Saleh recommended eSET due to my age (30) and this being my first transfer.
After trying to conceive for 2 years I found Dr Saleh, from the first consultation we knew he was the one, he is very knowledgeable and kind. The most thing I liked is after first test you don’t waste you time waiting to start your process, after a week of my first blood draw I got my first HSG test and we found out one of my tubes was blocked and the other one didn’t have the best shape…so he explained to me that I can get pregnant just with one tube open but I was going to take time for that to happened and we should take the advantage that I have good quality eggs.
Everything was easy with this clinic [Center for Reproductive Endocrinology], they communicate with your insurance and your pharmacy which is very helpful since this is a process that can be worrying for some women. The site it’s pretty cool and organized, you’ll never find a lot of people waiting...Doctor and nurses were very kind and on top of everything, they respond to our concerns very quickly...

So we started the process 1 week later after that. Our nurse was amazing, you don’t have to worry about forgetting anything, the staff of always on top of everything. Our first consultation happened on March 25th. Our eggs retrieval on May 20th (8 out 16 eggs made it). From those 8 eggs 6 were sent to genetic testing, 2 came back normal, 1 mosaic and 3 abnormal. The transfer happened on August 1st and on August 28th we heard the heartbeat of our baby for the first time. Thank you dr Saleh, dr Collins and all the staff.

Describe Walid Saleh's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Center for Reproductive Endocrinology (formerly Sher Fertility of Texas).
Dr Saleh took the time at every visit to walk through the procedure or steps. His calm demeanor was appreciated after a bad experience with another clinic. Because of my advanced age, he made sure I knew the process might not be as easy as someone half my age, but he never discouraged us in our journey. His boisterous laugh always made the visits easier and when we had a scare at the beginning of our pregnancy, he took the time to make sure we knew exactly what was going on. He did not feel rushed to make it to the next patient.
Everyone [at Center for Reproductive Endocrinology] seemed knowledgeable with their job. If I had questions, someone was quick to answer. Their billing department was able to explain any charges, etc. Everyone was very professional and nice and I never felt like they did not want to be at work or helping me get checked in, etc. very professional...[nurse] Maria was the best! She was always available for any questions I might have. If I called and she wasn’t available then, I would know exactly what time she would be calling me back. She explained everything at the end of my appointment or when it was time for starting our shot protocol.

Dr Saleh explained everything from the very beginning, never hesitated to respond to any questions we have and was very thorough on his recommendations on what should be done. Everything followed through as he said and we are now 20 weeks pregnant after so many run arounds before meeting Dr. Saleh...I didnt feel blown off like a number! He didnt seem like he was annoyed when we asked multiple questions and did everything with a smile. You can tell he likes his job. We felt welcomed!
Everything [at Center for Reproductive Endocrinology] was pretty much amazing.
