I knew going into treatment that it would be challenging as I was aware of my diagnosis. The doctor was clear about the realities and barriers posed by diminished ovarian reserve and tubal blockage. I appreciated his honesty and how thorough he was during our initial consultation via zoom. My disappointment came during our in person meetings when he seemed to always be in a hurry. He spoke very quickly and used analogies much too often. I rarely had the chance to ask one or two questions during each monitoring visit. From the visits I gathered that my body was not responding as he almost immediately decided to increase my dosage of gonal-f. Ultimately my IVF cycle was canceled, despite the disappointment my biggest complaint is the doctor's lack of communication as he never reached out to explain why my cycle was canceled, what the next steps could be, what we could do differently going forward. Instead, all I got was a call from the nurse saying the doctor had ordered that I discontinue injections as the cycle was canceled. He provided no clarity and his failure to follow up confirmed how uninvested he was.

Advocate for yourself, demand you get the time and undivided attention that you deserve as a paying patient.

Estrace for priming, injectables began with 300 gonal f at night, and 150 menopur in the morning. After first monitoring visit and labs gonal f was increased to 375. Cycle was canceled after 2nd monitoring appointment. Doctor didn't explain rationale very well during visits. Again used his analogies of the engine of a car getting started which seemed to only cloud my understanding. Nurses did a much better job of clarifying once he was out of the room during in person visits.

Not sure what the overall cost of my being seen by Dr. Lin was, as I have insurance coverage.

He strongly encouraged single embryo transfer and briefly described why.

I have nothing but good words to say for Dr Lin and all his staff. Everyone in the clinic is warm and compassionate. I had a lot of setbacks (not all under Dr Lin’s control unfortunately) and the staff at FCOC was so supportive. I couldn’t have asked for more from a Fertility doctor/ center- I was always treated so well and communication was always timely.

Trust the process

Dr Lin adjusted my protocol from BCP to estrace for prepping for egg retreival for second cycle as first was canceled due to dominant follicle. That worked and we got embryos that cycle. I went for another egg retreival voluntarily and this time he adjusted the FSH dosage slightly and we got better results again. I had to be on Lupron per Dr Lin’s advice for few weeks before my transfer (which resulted in birth of our son) as before this I had a cancelled transfer cycle on Estrace. I would like to mention that I have PCOS and since the beginning of my fertility journey, my body has resisted responding well to medications/ birth control pills

I have a history of ectopic pregnancy and still have my tubes so to decrease risk of another ectopic, Dr Lin had advised on eSET and we were in agreement

Dr Lin was very kind and I could tell he was rooting for me to succeed. However after years of trying and two failed IVF cycles I moved to different doctor and was successful the first time. I think the problem was I didn't communicate my medical history to Dr. Lin and he didn't ask. I was taking migraine medication that pretty much made it impossible to get pregnant and had no idea. If we went over my history it could have saved years of pain.

I was a patient for a number of years and we tried Clomid, letrozole, standard drugs for egg retrieval and implantation. Dr. Lin Never tied heparin or a intralipid IV that I tried with my second doctor and that ended in a successful pregnancy.

They were the same costs as all the established clinics in orange county.

He didn't push me one way or the other. Just gave me the facts. I ended implanting singles three times and doubles twice.

Dr. Lin was awesome since our IuI didn't work as planned and we had 2 chemicals we decided to move on with IVF as of right now we looking into it and I feel Dr would be the best person to do the IVF for us. I love the wait that he is so friendly, patient and you can easily see he isn't just doing it for his job he is doing it because he enjoys it.

Make sure you are not in now hurry because he will explain everything in detail and write it out for you :)

We did 4 IuI and 2 resulted in Chemical and 2 in negative test we did 100 mg clomid and no trigger shot was needed (ultrasounds weekly) we did semen and he inseminated me day 14 blood work (HCG)and again in 2 days

He was very thorough, if a bit repetitive. He never rushed us and always took the time to fully listen to and respond to questions. I really appreciate that he is up to date on the latest research and studies about fertility.

We did letrozole and timed intercourse for three cycles, then moved onto letrozole and IUI. Letrozole started off at 5mg, but after poor response the first cycle, was upped to 7.5mg for 10 days, which produced a reasonable number of follicles. He didn't suggest IUI as he did not feel it made a significant difference but was happy to let us try.

I paid my copay each visit, but nothing else was due as they are in network with my PPO. I chose to do a cash IUI, which was about $400. They also have a partner pharmacy for trigger shots, which made the cost significantly cheaper.

He told us he preferred to transfer singles, as technology now was good enough that he didn't want to risk multiples, even twins.

Dr. Lin was very caring and listen to us. He took the time to explain everything he was doing and his voice somehow put you at ease. He was very calm in his explanations and didn't rush us. The only thing I would've liked Dr. Lin to do is be more aggressive in treatment. I feel like it may have saved us some money and we may have had results faster.

Make sure you ask all of the questions you have, write them down before you go for your first consult. Try to arrive on time for your appointment so you will be seen on time. Tell Dr. Lin exactly what you want to do and what you are comfortable with doing and what you're not.

My wife was the one who knows exactly what the treatments were but I know we used a lot of pills, sometimes injections and we did several IUIs.
