I felt like nothing was personalized. The way he [Dr. Phipps] practices is using numbers and not on a case by case bases. He never changed my treatment with many failures even when I asked him to. I rarely saw him when there. My husband would always have to tell me not to cry and hold it until we leave and he would explain...
Always remembering small details about us and making me feel like they aren't just taking my money with no results. They [Reproductive Resource Center] talk to you about everything they are doing and communicate the process. If I had a question the portal was usually answered within 24 hours...each IUI cost around 695- our insurance doesn't cover fertility but they coded the ultra sounds so they would be covered for us

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of William Phipps (retired) at Reproductive Resource Center?
Don't go in wanting a warm and fuzzy experience with him. It will be very matter of fact. The nurses are the best and so kind though.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with William Phipps (retired) at Reproductive Resource Center?
Dr. Phips is very to the point and doesn't explain things in laments terms. Very broad strokes and not on a case by case matter
Describe the protocols William Phipps (retired) used in your cycles at Reproductive Resource Center and their degree of success.
0.25 letrozole trigger shot and the progesterone until pregnancy test everytime
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Resource Center.
They are wonderful. Always remembering small details about us and making me feel like they aren't just taking my money with no results. They talk to you about everything they are doing and communicate the process. If I had a question the portal was usually answered within 24 hours
Describe your experience with Reproductive Resource Center.
Dr. Phips not changing anything through our process has been a weakness. He is also not a big fan of natural path directions so I have had to hid that part of the process from him. The nurses are the strength along with Dr. Brabec in the office with him. I don like that they would get me in and out in a timely manor so I could be at work by 8:00 am
Describe the costs associated with your care under William Phipps (retired) at Reproductive Resource Center.

What specific things went wrong at Reproductive Resource Center?
  • Failed to call with results
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Reproductive Resource Center.
It was the first IUI- I had no idea what to do and they didn't send the directions until it was one day late for the letrozole

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Because we had DOR, he wasn’t worried about being aggressive with protocol or me getting OHSS. However, for some reason, I didn’t respond at all and we converted to an IUI. ... Dr. Phipps took the time to meet with us and honestly explain realistic expectations for my husband and I. We were not rushed out because we went over time, we felt like family in his office
I swear Every person at this clinic [Reproductive Resource Center] was hand picked by Jesus to work here. They have all been so kind when I needed it most, never judge mental, never rude. I love them! The front desk Are the perfect faces you want to see and talk to when you are so nervous for what’s about to come in your appointment. They are quick about getting information for you, scheduling appointments, getting a nurse, whatever it is you need.
How was your experience with William Phipps (retired) at Reproductive Resource Center?
We are fairly new to the process, but Dr. Phipps seems to be very well educated in his field. He may not be the easiest person to talk to (a bit awkward), because I swear he is a super genius, but it makes me feel good that he’s educated in his field.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of William Phipps (retired) at Reproductive Resource Center?
He is unlike any other doctor I’ve had. Give him the chance to explain what he’s doing and don’t expect him to dumb things down. All of his explanations are scientific.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with William Phipps (retired) at Reproductive Resource Center?

Because we had DOR, he wasn’t worried about being aggressive with protocol or me getting OHSS. However, for some reason, I didn’t respond at all and we converted to an IUI. Waiting on phone call with Dr. Phipps to discuss why he thinks that happened and what is next
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Resource Center.
Every nurse we have had so far has exceeded my expectations. They are very hopeful and optimistic, even when things look bad. Becca was amazing when I had my scan and we figured my cycle would be canceled. She went through how I am young and that is going to be in our favor and nothing that’s happening is my fault. She assured me I am doing all I can to have a baby and not to blame myself

Down payment for IVF cycle was $12,800 Medications were $4,800 We didn’t make it to egg retrieval to pay the rest...
Describe William Phipps (retired)'s approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Resource Center.
Dr. Phipps will only transfer one embryo...because of my age.

I have loved being at RRC with William Phibbs. He has great bed side manner and I also felt comfortable with him. He's been really great, open and honest. We are traveling over 4 hours both ways to see Dr. Phibbs. We researched clinics and doctors extensively before making our decision and we are happy with it so far!... He is very smart and very educated and has a lot of years of doing IVF under his belt. He knows what he's talking about, for sure.
[IVF at Reproductive Resource Center] was successful, with 15 eggs, 11 mature, 9 fertilized, 3 made it to day 5, and 1 on day 6. All four made it through PGT testing...Strengths - doctors with LOTS of experience and knowledge under their belts...We like all of the nurse, care coordinators and the nursing staff. They are all very helpful and knowledgeable. They have been nothing but accommodating and kind to us...We are around $34,000 right now. Not finished.

I felt like William Phibbs really cared about me and my care. He was very up front and honest and so far we have gotten all of the results that we wanted!
Describe the protocols William Phipps (retired) used in your cycles at Reproductive Resource Center and their degree of success.
Agonist protocol, if I recall that was the name of it. We did injections for 10 days, trigger on the 11th day, and egg retrieval two days later. It was successful, with 15 eggs, 11 mature, 9 fertilized, 3 made it to day 5, and 1 on day 6. All four made it through PGT testing.

We like all of the nurse, care coordinators and the nursing staff. They are all very helpful and knowledgeable. They have been nothing but accommodating and kind to us.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Resource Center.
Strengths - doctors with LOTS of experience and knowledge under their belts. Weaknesses - not necessarily a diss to the clinic but they are 4.5 hours away from us so sometimes traveling is stressful.

Describe William Phipps (retired)'s approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Resource Center.
We are only transferring one embryo. We are not sure our clinic's protocol on it but we think they only do one at a time. We are young with healthy embryos and not miscarriages so only one is fine with us.

I saw Dr. Phipps 2 years ago for an iui and initial diagnoses. I did not get pregnant and then my spouse and I took a break from treatment and returned this month. So far we have had an IVF consult, simple labs, a plan of treatment and a financial consult. So far he has been thorough, but not extremely personable. I believe he is talented and knows what he is doing, but just may not be the warmest person. He explains each detail, but sometimes uses vocabulary that needs to be explained. I feel comfortable moving forward with him.
The same staff was there that we saw 2 years ago [at Reproductive Resource Center]. They got us in quickly, and are very prompt to respond. They always greet us with a smile and are prepared to answer questions. I really appreciated that they had all of our previous information at hand and we did not have to repeat a bunch of info.... The quote we were given was between 18500 and 2200 depending on genetic testing. They also offered unifvy and attain multi cycle plans for more.

I have PCOS so IVF with ICSI and a frozen transfer was recommended to do a fear of OHSS. He explained why I’m at a higher risk and why frozen transfer would be the safest option. I have not started the medication process, but those details will come in a separate meeting.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Resource Center. (Assigned nurse: Margaret Vogt)
Margret has been amazing! She remembered us from two years ago, and had our complete history ready to go. She was empathetic and professional. She answered questions and explained throughly.

They told me they almost always do a single embryo transfer. They said it is safer for me and there are less complications with a singleton pregnancy

Success w/ Doc Not sure
Dr Phipps is very knowledgeable and dedicated to his profession; however, his bedside manner is poor and demonstrates little ability to create personal connection or show compassion with something that is so emotionally and financially sensitive. However, his referral and patient success has superseded these things to my spouse and I.... Dr Phipps adjusted my medication after SHG that showed uterine polyps as well as my blood drawer numbers dropping. We will be complete frozen egg transfer with PGD and PGS.
Great front desk staff, great communication and overall very caring. The staff [Reproductive Resource Ctr] communicated well through their portal and were very knowledgeable. Our only complaint was with the financial coordinator who seemed very unorganized and pushy at times.... Marci and her team have been excellent to work with including responding to emails and returning phone calls in a timely manner and explaining procedures.

This does not include fees for medication around time of implant or storage fees. Approximately $1000 in other misc fees for appointments.

Dr Phipps and his team go out of your way to make you feel comfortable and supported...Dr Phipps did a good job of explaining everything to us. He is honest and upfront about everything that will happen. Sometimes his communication may not be the greatest, but he gets to the point. He doesn't sugarcoat things but also stays very positive while speaking...expect to be treated well but also be ready to ask questions. The more questions you ask the more you will get out of him.
The nursing staff here [Reproductive Resource Center] is incredible. They go out of their way to make you feel like you are in the right place getting the care that you deserve. They are very compassionate and care about your overall well being. I can not say enough good things about this nursing staff...This clinic is very professional in the way that things are done, but also don't treat you like a number. When things don't work out like they should, they are there as someone you can talk to and figure out the next step with. I appreciate the positive support of the doctors and staff at the clinic. You are always greeted with a friendly smile.

Dr Phipps is great, not always the best communicator but over all very knowledgeable. One nurse on his staff is cold and uncaring, she set my expectation and when I had a miscarriage it provided false hope that my baby was ok. Moving forward her emails were short and cold.... If you want a warm and fuzzy feeling, this office is not the one. If you want straight shooters, this office is where to go
[Reproductive Resource Center's] Strengths, the flexibility and quick processes. Weaknesses, slow responses to emails, there is very little content to emails and little guidance. You have to ask questions or they just assume you know... The nurses were fantastic except for one, she comes off cold and uncaring. perhaps she has done this too long... I trusted Dr.Phipps and every recommendation he had...took the time to explain every procedure and every detail along the way. When I had questions he would personally call me back...quiet and even a bit odd. He doesn’t have an outgoing personality...had an experience where I hyper stimulated and because of this I ended up having to do a frozen transfer. I was upset at first but after explaining everything in detail I realize this was for the health of myself and my potential baby.
They [staff at Reproductive Resource Center] know their patients! When you walk in you are greeted by name and always with a warm smile. All of the staff is so sweet and compassionate. Dr. Phipps is well educated. He was also very kind and understanding. He was as determined as I was to get me to conceive and have a live birth. There was one time I had to many follicles to go forward with that round of treatment and I was very upset however I understand it was in my best interest (and my potential baby) not to go forward...He is a quick talker so pay attention...was very kind and understanding of my situation.
there isn't any weaknesses I can think of [at Reproductive Resource Center]. My experience with the entire staff at RRC was incredible! I would recommend them to anyone having issues with infertility. Everyone was always very kind and friendly...Ashley is incredible and so compassionate! Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Dr Phipps is very knowledgeable. He takes time to answer questions and explains everything throughly. He is not super warm/compassionate, but he is clear in his message and has a vast knowledge of reproduction. His high level of experience is important to me. I also appreciated how he always knew the specifics of my case.
Love the RRC! Appointment times are legit- you don’t have to wait very long. They tell you what to expect. Even the front office staff are kind and supportive. The lab is super convenient because it’s connected. They get results back to you ASAP. The online portal system is so helpful, too.... The nursing staff is amazing!!! They are compassionate and take time to answer questions or explain things that Dr Phipps has explained further. They respond to messages quickly and always seem to know my case. I never felt like they were in a rush or didn’t have time for me.

Don’t expect warm and fuzzy from Dr Phipps, but do expect very professional and thorough.

They always took the time to answer our questions and we felt supported through the process.
Describe the protocols William Phipps (retired) used in your cycles at Reproductive Resource Center and their degree of success.
For our first (and only) IUI, I took birth control first, then used Letrozole and had several monitoring appointments to check on progress before the IUI. Dr Phipps chose Letrozole based on my previous blood tests and my response to it versus my response to Clomid. For egg retrieval, we did what I think was a pretty standard protocol and started with birth control, then injectibles (Menupor and Gonal F) with several monitoring ultrasounds and blood tests. He adjusted my dose of Gonal F after one of my blood tests. We triggered with Leprolide and Novarel. At retrieval we got 29 eggs. 20 fertilized normally, 17 made it to the first stage and we ended up with 6 frozen embryos (4 AA and 2 BB). Dr Phipps let us decide if we wanted to do embryo testing and we did not elect to do that.

Describe the costs associated with your care under William Phipps (retired) at Reproductive Resource Center.
Our consultation and IUI cost about $2000. Our IVF round cost $17,700 plus medication ($6000) but we paid a bit extra for a Univfy program in case we need a second egg retrieval or more than one transfer, then those costs would be covered (not including medication or hospital fees).
